Panic ensued, but soon after a quick search, I landed upon America Dentist in Prague. To say that the experience exceeded all my expectations would be an understatement. From the get-go, their administrative staff was responsive and prompt. They scheduled me in for an appointment the very next day, a turnaround time I'm immensely grateful for. The moment I stepped into their office, I was greeted with a professional and soothing environment. Now, about Dr. Eric Rafoth. His expertise, calm demeanor, and approachability made me feel at ease. Where I had initially dreaded the need for a porcelain crown, he astutely assessed the damage and suggested a filling instead. This not only saved me a considerable amount of money but also showcased his honesty and patient-first approach. A special shout-out to Alena Balsonova, the Lead Assistant, for her meticulous support throughout the procedure. Their combined effort restored my tooth to its original glory, with perfection in every detail. In jest (but with a hint of seriousness), I now consider flying back from the USA to Prague just for my dental check-ups! Dr. Eric and his team have undoubtedly set a high bar for dental care for me. Dr. Eric Rafoth is simply amazing and I highly recommend to go there if you are under any tooth discomfort like me in Prague. Due to the acute infection, I had to find an English speaking dentist here in Prague just the second day of my arrival. I was here all by myself so while suffering the pain, I was also nervous and uncertain whether I can’t get the right emergency treatment in time. When I called the office, the nurse who answered the phone was so friendly… though the day was fully booked, she told me if I go there at some certain time, they might be able to squeeze me in. I felt nothing but thankful that they were willing to help. Dr.Rafoth is very professional, kind and patient. He walked me through the whole examination procedure and told me several options I can possibly do while I am here. Apart from the very clear and precise diagnosis, Dr. Rafoth was amazing in taking care patient’s emotion. And he speaks English so I can understand what problem I need to deal with now and later for a more complete treatment plan. I traveled a lot, this is one surprise I found in Prague. He is so great that I wish he could have a practice back in Orlando ☹. Hi Dr.Rafoth I just wanted to thank you . As you promised ,you made me smile again ! Normally i am really scared to go to dentist, that was the reason i waited so long in pain to check on my Wisdom tooth . 1st Meeting I called on 9 a.m and got an appointment the same day , Dr.Rafoth checked everything and we decided to take out the wisdom tooth ,It was really amazing , no pain and no further treatment needed after .(it took like 30 minutes and everything was finished) 2nd Meeting After Removing Wisdom Tooth i asked for Dental cleaning ,got the appointment few days later ,also was absolute fantastic .I was very confident after the 2nd visit on Dr.Rafoth´s Skills and decided to make another appointment for my front teeth(which was letting me hide my smile for a long time). On the 3rd Meeting we fixed my front , i had bad carries and blackning on front teeth , This treatment took like 45 minutes and everything was fixed ,he made fillings on 2 complete front teeth , which looks amazing ! I consider myself very lucky to have found Dr. Eric. He was the only one who was able to fix my aesthetic problem which was not a big deal apparently as it was presented by other dentists; and I went to see many... I had a worn enamel of my six front teeth for many years that bothered me a lot. The worn parts were too obvious when I smiled. Besides, this problem prevented me from whitening my teeth. I was told by some dentists that only veneers can be a solution, others - nothing can help, some - didn't recommend me whitening. I didn't want veneers and I wanted to have beautiful white teeth. When I met Eric, he made everything so simple and clear why I have it, and how it can be fixed, and yet so professional. Also I particularly liked that he does everything to save the teeth before offering more radical solutions, and I was very glad to learn that properly done fillings would be sufficient to hide and protect my damaged parts. I went for his service and I am very satisfied with it. It has been a year of my new smile so far and I really love it! I have perfect white teeth that look natural and you would never guess I have fillings on them. Thank you Eric!

Dr. Eric was a Godsend for me while traveling abroad. I traveled to Prague with friends recently and got sucker punched one night. I woke up bewildered and without an idea of what to do. I called around to many dentists and saw one individual the first day who have me ibuprofen and suggested I "rest". Dr. Eric returned my call and left a voicemail saying he was concerned and would see me the following day even though he was off for the day. He took X-rays and correctly diagnosed a fractured jaw. Called the embassy, reached out to an oral surgeon in Prague for me, and directed me to a dental emergency center. While at the emergency center, I had him translate for me to ensure I was getting the treatment I needed over the phone. He texted me later that day and even a week after I had returned to the states to make sure I was ok. Great family man and an American who has your best interest in mind. Cannot say enough about this doctor. So lucky to have met him.

I had a tooth pain for a few days. I made an appointment to Dr. Eric, I went to him and got some treatment discussion (after an X-ray). After 1 day, I recevied on my email all the details concerning the treatment plan and the costs. All good until now. I answered back the same day saying I wont follow through with the plan because it is way too expensive (I was expecting it to be expensive but not that much). I requested the X-ray to be sent to my email (since I payed for it). No answer to my request. I can't say I recommend Dr. Eric for his skills, or that I don't recommend him because it is too expensive (this is a personal choice for his clients). All I can say is that if you pay for an X-ray, you should be able to get it if you request that - it is a service for which you payed. P.S. The 40 minutes consultation was 100 euro.P.P.S. I received my X-ray by mail. So, until now, services were good albeit minimal (no dental work).

Best value for service anywhere!! I was on my honeymoon with my wife in Prague (we are from Colorado/Washington, USA), and was lucky to enough to find Dr. Eric. All in the first day I contacted him, he spoke with me over the phone consulting me on my dental issue, he managed to squeeze me in for a visit at the end of the day, and while at the visit he gave exceptional care for a very reasonable price. In the states I would have paid triple for the same service. In the visit he cleared up the problem and even gave me some medical advice for an abrasion I had on my foot that I thought might be infected. Highest recommendation for a dentist anywhere. If I ever need any major dental work, I will be booking a flight to Prague to see him. (I also should mention that after the visit he recommended a number of places for my wife and I to go explore in Prague- nice guy!)

I went to Dr Eric for a full smile transformation. I am over the moon with the results.I really had neglected my teeth and He was very understanding and non judgemental and made me feel super at ease. I am Irish, living in Prague so it was important for me to have english speaking dentist. I felt so taken care of and well guided by him. His assistant is lovely also. I had a lot of work done and there was never any stress and he always gave me the best solutions to make my smile as natural as possible and also preserve my own teeth. So long term all the work was as least invasive as possible. I would highly recommend the american dentist and I will continue to visit for any future work I may need. I can't thank him enough, I have my confidence back and I cant put a price on that. I was very self conscious about my smile before and now I cant stop smiling.

If you look for quality A+... Price $$$$$ I visited Dr. Eric today for the first time. I must say he is very experienced, detail oriented, makes you feel comfortable and informs you about the procedure step by step. His "American dentists care standards" made me feel safe and in good hands to replace 9 years old filling, very close to the gum( I was afraid if I waited longer to fix it, I might need a root canal)... However, I spend more money than I used to, in the U.S for a filling... €150.. I used to pay $ 125 in Miami, my dentist was EXCELLENT, and he was not cheap at all... I expected to pay less considering that other dentists in Prague would charge $ 40 average... I have no complaints about his quality of service, but I don't think I will go back again.

Can a dentist have a "bedside manner ' ,as in a Dr..? If so this dude leaves Dr. Kildare wanting ( for those amongst you who are long enough in the tooth to recall - no pun intended ). Having reviewed the reviews there's very little I can add, as it's all been said before me. He's , chatty , informed, extremely personable & open - to alternative opionions from other dentists. Not often a professional will suggest alternatives to the degree of getting 2nd opinions from the opposition. Eric has absolutely no qualms. Some could see this as cocky / conceited... I on the other hand see it as an absolute faith in his patient / client. He's there to provide the best benefit for US..! If I had a dog I'd let him attend to it before taking it to the vet.

We had a really good experience Dr. Rafoth. I developed a badly infected root canal when on a 2 week vacation to Europe with my husband. We were lucky enough to be stopping through Prague on one of the days Dr. Rafoth sees patients, and he slotted us in for a same day appointment. He gave us thoughtful advice on our options for the tooth, and scheduled the extraction for the same day. He was also helpful in addressing my dental anxiety surrounding the extraction. He has since been responsive in following up with (ongoing) billing issues with my insurance company. Overall, an unexpectedly good experience with emergency dental treatment in a foreign country.

I went to Dr. Eric as I wanted to be able to discuss my dental health with a native English speaker. Dr. Eric helped me with my questions and treatment and also suggested a way to fix my crooked smile. I had worn down some of my front teeth and had previously been told the only way to fix them was with braces. Once in a lifetime of that experience was enough so had learned to live with it. As per his suggestion I had cosmetic veneers put on a few a my teeth to even out my smile and have been extremely satisfied. I will definitely be returning to Dr. Eric in the future!

Dr. Eric is a great dentist, he explains things really well, and he and his assistant are kind and empathetic toward the patients. I'm extremely scared of the dentist, and I came to see him after a traumatic experience where another dentist paralyzed my face for 8 hours after the procedure and didn't even finish the job. Dr. Eric and his assistant made me feel safe and relaxed all the time even using minimal anesthesia. He did a superb job, not only finished the job of the other dentist but fixed some other thing really fast and with no discomfort whatsoever. Thanks!

I went to Dr. Eric for a general check up and also seeking a second opinion on a molar with an infection. I was treated very well by both the doctor and Alena the assistant, the doctor examined my teeth with a lot of patience and explained everything. He is very knowledgeable and it gave me the level of trust one expects from a professional. I highly recommend Dr Eric if you are concerned about high quality dentistry. The prices are higher but it is better to have quality work done at one dentist than visit several and having to redo the previous work. Thank you!

I broke a crown while staying in Prague and was able to get an appointment with Dr. Rafoth pretty much right away. This showed real care for me as a traveler who needed help. From his treatment, I found him to be professional and very careful. He explained every step of what he did, and made sure that I wasn't in any pain. I felt great confidence in his knowledge and skill. This was the best experience I've ever had with a dentist! On top of all this, he's a University of Washington Seattle graduate. Go Huskies! Great dentist and good people. I broke my abutment with a custom crown during my time studying in Prague, and was worried that I would have to stick out the rest of my time on europe with no front tooth. Dr. Eric was extremely helpful and helped me replace my tooth. He went above and beyond what my original dentist did and I think my smile now looks better than before. The whole process turned out to be much faster and way easier than I remember in the states. I wish I could fly out to Prague for all my dentist work with Eric.

Dr. Eric Rafoth provided excellent service and was able to fit me into his schedule for an emergency tooth ache. He was very professional, kind and knowledgable- taking time to thoroughly explain the tooth root anatomy and the cause of the pain- which was essentially a failed root canal I had 14 years ago. His office is top notch with a very well equipped treatment room. He x-rayed my crown and provided antibiotics for the infection that was causing the pain. My visit lasted 30 min and his fee was very reasonable.

Being in Prague with work, I broke a tooth and Doctor Eric was listed as an emergency dentist. Dr. Eric was an absolute God send today. Late last night my friend tripped and fell on the sidewalk and cracked two teeth pretty much in half. I emailed him and he immediately called me back and had us come in first thing in the morning and now it is only 3pm and my friend is resting with a perfect smile again. Having the luck to find an American doctor in Prague and one as great as him was the best possible outcome we could have hoped for. Thank you so much Dr. Eric, you saved the rest of our trip!

I was completely thrilled with my experience. As thrilled as one can be with a dental emergency. I broke two fillings and Dr. Eric offered to come in and see me the next day. On his day off! It was such an easy and comfortable experience for a new American in Prague but I can clearly see how Dr. Eric would make everyone feel the same. Dr Eric is probably the most experienced dentist I have ever been to and perhaps also the most thorough. He fixed some issues that I had from inadequate dentistry back in the UK, as well as sorting out a nightguard for my longterm problem with teeth grinding, among other problems. He is a bit more expensive than some other dentists but always allows a bit more time with you, and uses higher grade materials, which is well worth it when you only have one set of teeth!

A very professional and thorough service at short notice. I arrived unannounced late in the afternoon as Eric was walking out the door. He very kindly turned around to attend to my tooth ache and very quickly identified and treated the issue. Several days later I received a very nice follow up email to ensure all was well. Had an issue with a crown on my front teeth while on vacation at prague. Eric came in especially on his day off and helped fix the tooth in no time. He also was super friendly and explained the process while fixing the tooth. Definitely 5 stars all the way, he saved my vacation. Highly recommend! *Another big plus is that he speaks English, so as a tourist the communication was easy and fluent (unlike local dentists that can't communicate at all!)

Dr Eric and Alena provided excellent patient experience through all of my visits. I felt educated and well cared for through each of my procedures. Probably competent but so expensive ! ... When I met him, he asked me if I had a private insurance, I gave the amount that my insurance could take in charge. 1st appointment (65€ as a new patient ) + X-ray (55€) = 120€. 2nd appointment = Dental hygiene : 165€ (I don't know why he gives the amount in €, and gives a conversion in Czk that he finds on Google). Lesson learned = I should have asked for a quote ...

My son is a UK student in Prague. After an accident he needed emergency dental care. I spoke to staff from London , who were very kind and accommodating.Dr Eric was amazing. He has a wonderful bedside manner, was thorough, explained in detail the issues and how it could be resolved. Dr Eric saved my sons tooth - a big thank you! My son said Dr Eric made going to the dentist a pleasure.

I go to Dr Eric regularly and I am always very happy with the care and personal approach I get there. He explains everything, so that I understand all the options and prices so I can then make concsious decision. He saved several of my teeth by simple explaning in detail how should I change my daily rutines in order to be able to keep the tooth. Not many doctors would do that!

Dr. Eric was incredibly helpful when I ran into some health issues during my semester in Prague. He referred me to an oral surgery group, helped me set up the appointment, and followed up with me to check on my condition throughout the whole ordeal. Extremely grateful to Dr Rafoth and his team for making a rather stressful time so easy. Came in with a broken crown and not only did he spot a tiny fracture rather than just gluing it back in, he did a comfortable, effective filling within hours of me asking to see him. The dentist seems to be very experienced, however, EXTREMELY pricey. He does not have a price list on his website, so please be very careful. I was charged 165 euros aka 4200 Czech crowns for a LESS than 40-minute discussion with him and 3 little X-rays. Lesson learned I guess.

I should of wrote this review months ago. One of the best dentists I ever went to. I was in major tooth pain on his day off and he came into his office to help me out. Defintly saved from the worst tooth pain I ever felt. Couldn't be more grateful.

My daughter had a nasty knock to her teeth just prior to us arriving into Prague for a holiday . After wandering from dentist to dentist, this practice was willing to slot her in and provided a really reassuring and child-friendly service.
