Always have a great time here, its vibrant, chilled and most importantly its a great spot for any day of the week, you can do a chilled lunch (mouth watering burgers) , sun downers in the afternoon, dance in the evening and live and let live at night. I wish they could have a more active website you get more information at the restaurant than online (apologies if im misinformed on this one but I've tried Facebook and their website there's very little on there)

It's a very chilled place! You can be with a group of 20+plus people, and you'll fit perfectly. You will also have just as much fun as a couple. Easy to meet people and make friends there, so feel free to go alone. Staff there are really good and down to earth, with management that works hard and know when to have fun. There's ways a great vibe at Amsterdam, even on the odd quiet night. They have stand up comedy twice a month and always something different on a Friday night! Also, if you get there during happy hour...you'll meet all sorts of people. Best experience ever at this venue! Definitely a place to visit when on holiday and if you're local, it makes a great place for your regular watering hole.

I had the worst experience at this place on davenport, I was there Saturday night with my friends and I had a mild asthma attack went out to get my pump from the car, when I came back we were denied access and told to wait in line with everyone else. Not even worrying about the fact that I can't stand for long as I wasn't OK enough to hold the que. A minute later they let in some people from the back of the line which were of foreign nationality like the bouncers who told us to wait on line to get back inside to our table. They threw slures at me and my friend and really didn't care about the poor service they provided. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

This is a good place to get food at night when usual places are closed. We had mini burgers and chips, the chicken burgers were juicy and done great, beef a little on the dry side but all in all well done. The chips were delicious. Although we weren't served at first for around 10 minutes because no one was at the entrance we walked further in and still no service until we stared at a waitress. You get an option of sitting closer to or further away from the music, although very open you can sit inside. A few initial good service impressions will pick this rating up. I would definitely recommend people to visit here!

Loved this place because there is a lovely little beer garden at the back that not many people are familiar with. There's also a mature patronage that visits this place and the beers are well priced. I asked the waitress if they had craft beer and she told me about castle lite and something else... At which point I just ordered a Heineken so I still don't know if they have craft beers good music at a good volume, everyone can hear each other without having to compete with the speakers. As long as the weather is not wet, this is where I will be doing my drinking most of the time

Amsterdam bar and grill has a lovely homey vibe which is great for some but not for everyone, that being said like most bars there's a click of people who are regulars. Amsterdam's regulars blend in well with new comers and are very welcoming, the bar is as well with a very "welcome home vibe" but I feel like it's too homey, as if it's missing that bar vibe. Nonetheless great service, great foods with decent prices and friendly staff.

Awesome atmosphere love the vibe. Staff are friendly and helpful. Just one thing I personally feel that adding the 10% tip to the bill shouldn't be done because I honestly feel that the lady who waited on my family and I deserved way more than the 10%. I feel I was limited in blessing the Waitron. Having said that I still gave her more because she definitely deserved it. The place is really nice

The place is full flies ,one fell in my orange juice when I hadn't had even a sip I asked for another drink the waitress said it'll add to the bill..asked to speak to a manager politely ,the waitress said the manager won't attend to the matter since flies are a norm in their restaurant ( as in they are part of the restaurant) I said I won't be paying for it then ....then after threatened to leave they gave me another one

It's a bar. Great vibe and music, but the service is poor. You have to constantly search for your waiter. I never suggest it, but I've been here a few times, and I'd probably go back if I'm around that area. The prices are fair in comparison to other establishments of the same nature.

If you're a person who lives a posh life, this isn't your kind of scene. It's low tier and expensive. It's like any other Bar, but and a very lower tier. It's aesthetically unpleasing, sound isn't engineered properly, pick pocketers around. There's also a bon fire that isn't managed properly. Big safety hazar.

Great place for drinks and grub. Frequented by laid back patrons, good value for money. Lovely chill spot at the back. The service is lacking and can be greatly improved through a little training of the staff. One of the reasons for the 4 stars are the great burgers that they have on offer.. Definitely recommend their burger.

The food is nice. The music is nice. Very inclusive and it feels safe. The prices are good. It’s my go-to place when I want to have fun in Durban. Any time of the day, I’d recommend it! And it’s close to other clubs too and very close to the CBD. It predominantly has students because it’s situated near DUT and UKZN.

The environment is Town Ship & Subbies life kind vibe. The food is amazing and the service is top notch, food and drinks prices are very reasonable. The is no packing; you pack at the ROAD, Other than that is a great place to chill with your friends and family.

Amsties is easy to like from the aesthetic point of view. Their staff are great, and the people are all sorts of amazing. They have nice quick bites and smash burgers too. It transforms into a nice night clubby vibe with some moderately loud music until early AMs. Great place to chill and have a good time.

I will start by saying it was my 1st time here from Johannesburg went there to have fun.It's a great place to be at unfortunately there is not enough space to accommodate a bigger crowd. I really appreciate the stuff they maintain order and you don't take forever at the bar so big up guys.

With two sets of themes, a cool matured front themed area then a back young themed area with musing to die for. The DJ and the music was life. Well, the young lady that was serving us was 'over' entertaining the boys (customers) so we had to wait for her while joking around :(

The fact I can smoke weed there is a 5-star rating alone. The prices are affordable for a simple students night out with friends that won't break the bank, great food and drinks options and staff. Highly recommended spot for groups of young vibrant people and cannabis users.

The food menu is limited (only about 5 things you can order), and it's overpriced. Portions are small There is a fireplace but no braai option. It's good if you are just going for drinks, in my opinion. The vibe is good

The burger was the best. I love their beef. The waiter didn't give us what we ordered and when we asked he said it's because it seemed like we didn't know what we wanted. The wine was good. The sprite the guy served me tasted like it was diluted with water.

Nice place to go out for drinks, many other bars and restaurant along the street. If you new in Durban this is a spot not to miss. Decent relaxed atmosphere, high stools and couches if you need to relax. Smoking area with shades on the backyard.

Very nice atmosphere. Menu is nice and short, the burgers taste amazing (beef), the wings are good as well (order hot for the real spicy lovers) haven't tasted anything else on the menu. Great venue to watch any sporting games that they have on.

Love this spot. Beers ate always FROSTY cold. Lovely relaxed vibe. Never had a bad experience there. The food is a touch bland but hey... who cares. Those reasonably priced beers are super chilled. I'm talking Icy!

Full of university students and tourists . Very cool and hip.... They have a nice quiet beer garden at the back. The atmosphere here is amazing. Everyone is always friendly and welcoming.
