Worst experience ever at this terminal. I arrived from Chicago just before midnight to find there was no assistance available for a disabled person to transport luggage from the train to the curbside pickup. The train crew told me to call my ride and have them meet me on the platform. As I was on the phone with my driver an employee yelled at me to exit the area. I fell on the platform while trying to manage the two bags I carried on and received no assistance from train crew. I asked to use a cart that was on the platform and the male employee there exploded at me and threatened me. I was ordered to get on the elevator while still struggling with my carry on luggage. Once I boarded the elevator the same employee threatened me again and slammed the cage door down as hard as he could. Upon exiting the elevator on the lobby level a female employee offered me a wheelchair to move my bags to curbside pickup. Sad thing is - there were several others who need help also. Vulnerable people with disabilities. I helped a woman in need use my now empty wheelchair with her bags and then wheeled a gentleman to his ride waiting outside because he was left just sitting at the back of the building waiting and at the mercy of amtrak staff who were unwilling to assist him. Turns out there were no carts for customers anywhere to be found. I was booked on a disabled fare and had a 'needs assistance at station' flag on my reservation. Had I known in advance that assistance isn't available at this station I would have arranged for my family to be at the platform to help me. I have filed a complaint. Travelers beware...
Not safe if you're traveling alone. The surroundings were not great and there was no security in site. I was approached by a homeless man who then followed me around, but there were no employees around to help. It is the worst train station I have ever been to and I highly recommend avoiding stopping here if at all possible.
My luggage didn't come down with everyone else's after I arrived back in Indy from West Virginia. Eventually my suitcase was recovered thanks to the amazing woman behind the Amtrak service counter. She went out of her way when she didn't have to and I just want to say thank you for that.
Riding Amtrak is a wonderful experience I was able to get the sleeper car for my trip and not only was it affordable it was enjoyable. I received complimentary meals and drinks and the employees were very polite and helpful. I will use amtrak again for my next adventure.
This Amtrack/Greyhound Station needs some serious upgrades. There was trash everywhere on the ground and the bathrooms unusable. I’m an advocate for trains and transit but it’s disgusting and needs to be addressed.
I'm. Allen Curtis gray jr of indianapolis. And cousin of actor Don Cheadle. And husband of Mrs Andy Niemann. And nephew. Of Mrs marnie Robinson. And my amtrack family is my heart and my world
One of the worst Amtrak stations I've ever been too. Very run down, always dirty, and the platform is dismal.
Was on a train to Cincinnati....didn't get off at IND station. Everything went well on the ride.
Went here to drop my father off. A lot has changed and needs a lot of upgrade
I wouldn't even give it one star. Not a safe place at all!!
I love it
