Absolutely floored at the covert racism I just experienced here tonight. Did not even order anything. Came in with friends and was IDed after ordering a beer. I am well above legal age. I did not have my ID, truthfully was annoyed but did not give any this bartender any attitude and accepted that they were doing their job. So I’m still here to have a good time right? So I load up the jukebox there are no songs playing right now. Here’s my money isn’t that what you want? Nope.. 3 songs in and bartender starts skipping my music after I watch them go over to one customer and talk. I stop them like “hey why are you skipping my music” and they claim they asked (the one person they spoke too) if they played it cuz they were gonna skip. Why would you only ask one person who played the music if you have a full bar? Oh because you didn’t ask them that, you asked them to play country music on fast pass. Ok ma’am. So I ask for my money back for the skipped songs. Gives me back $2. I start playing music on fast pass as well. There’s a price surge. Here we go. Felt like.. “we don’t like your kind around here.” Just hang a “whites only” sign how bout that? Absolute garbage bag of a place. Will most definitely never be back.

It was two of us and we ordered the $18 barbeque boneless chicken (20 pc). The chicken hit the spot of what we were looking for. It was well cooked, a little bit dry. Good flavor, did not need the blue cheese or ranch as the barbeque recipe held very well on its own. We also ordered a long island, which was well made and good strength. The inside is very nice and I enjoyed the crowd on a Monday night. Our server was clearly overworked, serving the entire place and bartending which was a shame to see. Although they tried claiming that boneless and bone in wings are priced the same And attempted to charge my card for $30 instead of menu $18 price while arguing with me until they realized either they were wrong or could no longer try to get $30. It could have been an honest mistake given they were overworked, but this gives insight on what one may experience here. I would definitely come back regardless as the price and quality of food and drink was quite a surprise, and bonus for being a very active Monday night joint.

Rich and Morgan send a great bar at late night times. Stopped in and got some french fries and a couple drinks. The pizza looks great and the people eating it certainly weren't complaining. I'd highly recommend if you're looking for a late night car. You check out the anchor bar. Good sports bar. They were replaying the Lightning ⚡ game late night so that if you missed it, you could rewatch them beating the bruins! Great place to stop in anytime you're on Davis Island. You couldn't go wrong with this place.

What's not to love about the Anchor Bar I mean come on?... Dude good bands good music sticky Floor Just Enough. And if you're cool they let you hang for a minute there's no drama other than the dramatic people that overstay but man it's a great place and it's very family-oriented I like that feeling we're all there for the music and that's the beauty of it. Love and all that comes later because it's so perfect and balanced. Love the anchor. Just wish I could frequent and more. Five stars love it when I'm there! Have a drink on me

Destiny and rich were bartenders on duty when I came. Both seemed to only cater to regulars and disregarded my date and I the entire time. Destiny was rather cold to us upon sitting down and requesting to watch a home lightning hockey game. I wouldn't recommend getting the chicken sandwich either. Just chicken tenders placed in a bun. Also only one bathroom for everyone to use. It was disgusting. Urine all over the floor. But for what it's worth the wings are good and the onion rings were too.

Anchor Bar/Anchor fries are a must for me when in Tampa. The combination of flavors are sooooo good, I’ve got people from Ohio and Michigan hooked on Anchor Fries when they come into town for a visit. The food is always delicious and hot. Also, you can’t beat their Gasparilla breakfast/brunch. I’ve never had a bad experience at Anchor!

My family was on Davis Island to visit the hospital, so we stopped by for dinner and it was delicious, the gentleman who was the bartender was also our server was awesome! The only setback was my wife doesn't care for the bar scene recommended we should sit outside and there were mosquitoes.

Down to earth place and people. Great vibe, great juke box, owners Jen and Justin stir this drink and very engaged in making this place fun, and comfortable for patrons. Unlike many sports bars, they will put on for you any sporting event you desire...just ask. This is a Lightning, College football, pro football bar. The food here is very good....simple...well cooked....fast service. Blackened Chicken, Cheese Steaks, Wings, Chili are terrific as are their french fries.

The Anchor Tavern on Davis Island is a true dive bar with heart. With a laid-back ambiance and friendly staff, it's a welcoming spot for anyone seeking an authentic and unpretentious experience. I’ve never in my life received the amount of the disrespect received at this bar. The atmosphere was amazing before an off duty “drunk bartender” came. She was disrespectful belligerent. I attempted several times to make peace with her, but she denounced me and made the entire bar against me and my friends; and made us feel unsafe. It was by far the most condescending experience I’ve ever been apart of…

Went with a friend tor Sunday Funday, it was filled with a bunch of fun loving people of a variety of ages, the cocktails were just right and their food was delightful as well as the staff. The atmosphere was laid back and casual, a more the merrier, welcoming feeling. I thoroughly enjoy myself and felt completely included. Not a stranger in the place and it was my 1st time as a patron

Not thee nicest bartenders seem to think men have all the $ lol or they don't get tips from women either way they aren't too kind. My guy friends don't seem to get neglected or rbf. I only go when dragged there here on out tried 2x. Ohh well.

Second time going to this bar both times were great experiences football on the TV watching our Tampa Bay Bucs. I left early because I thought they were going to lose but they ended up winning so great night on DI. Guinness was on draft which was perfect.

Well my wings were pretty good. Fried mushrooms were so heavily breaded and over cooked had to peel off all the breading. My daughter ordered boneless wings that were soo over cooked she couldnt even puncture with a fork. The service, well wasnt impressed. Will never return...

Music was VERY loud. Chicken sandwich was VERY dry. Otherwise, we had a nice meal there.

My "juicy grilled chicken breast" was as dry as the Sahara. Roll was stale and no mayo, as described on the menu. I will not eat there again. But atmosphere was fun and lively and Emily is an excellent server and bartender.

Wouls have gotten a higher rating but the Wings aren't as good as people have hyped them up. They are decent size but the hot is not a buffalo its a honey hot they dont mention it on the menu. Service was good and the fries were pretty good. Decent options for beer too

Cool hole-in-the-wall kind of bar. Drink prices were good, but be prepared to flag down servers when you need a drink. Wings were pretty good, but the hot sauce has a bit of sweetness, so it wasn't traditional "Buffalo" wing sauce. Overall it was a really fun night!

Pub food & drinks. Some out door seats. Not recommended for kids. A Quaint Datenight spot. Burgers wings flatbread pizza on point. Staff professional & knowledgeable. Sports TV. Good time.

This is a perfect, hole in the wall, gem of a bar. Great wings, comfortable atmosphere, great selection of draft beers including done local options. Outdoor seating available and prompt but not pushy service from Emily during our visit. 10/10 would recommend

The Anchor Bar seems to be a Davis Island favorite. It's a local bar and it has a fairly impressive assortment of beers on tap. They have food, and are full liquor. It has a very narrow layout and only one bathroom, but otherwise its a pretty cool place.

The folks at The Anchor always cheerfully and accurately fill my late night to go orders. I only wish I could afford to tip them more. The food is pretty good for what it is, and the people are the best. It is a nice little spot for a low-key drink too.

The perfect place for awesome drinks, great craft beers, set in a small town feel in Davis Island. It was one of the few places my wife and I found that severed food past midnight. The wings where meaty and the pretzel bits where delicious.

Anchor Bar is still our favorite wing joint. Kudos to Living Social or Groupon back in 2012 for putting us on because these are wings you dream about 2 hours, 7 years, and 2 kids later. Love them.Shout out to Jennifer for keeping the vibe.

Small place but fiod was really good, got the wings, egg roll sampler and BBQ burger. One waitress working the bar and tables and she was great. Knew the regulars by name and we never felt unattended. Definitely will go back

Great pub food for good prices drinks are reasonable as well. Kind of a tight knit crowd can kinda make you feel like an outsider at first. However they will recognize you after a few visits and warm up.

Some of the best wings in town. Definitely a great local bar.

Pretty good selection of draft beers. Not a lot of space at the bar. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. Dive bar vibes. Saw a lot of food orders to go but did not try any of the food.

Tampa, don't sleep on the burgers here. Menu looks simple, but the execution is top notch. Of the places to grab some food on Davis Islands, this is one of the few I'd come back to again.

Good bar food it's a small place I usually get take out here there burgers are pretty good. The rest is basic fried food the bar has the golf game and darts. It's a full liquor bar.
