I’ve recently discovered this wholesome family run restaurant after four years living in Vietnam, now back in Melbourne and searching for good home made Vietnamese food. There aren’t many Vietnamese restaurants on this side of Brunswick east but this one is particularly special and deserves a lot more attention. It has a humble and cosy atmosphere amongst all the noise of lygon street. Cô Sáu and her husband have owned this restaurant for 18+ years and are so generous with their hospitality every time I come in. They have a menu with a wide selection of Vietnamese dishes - try the bún thịt nướng (pork with rice vermicelli) bò la lọt (vine leaf wrapped pork) and my favourite dessert plain and simple the deep fried banana with ice cream and peanuts. They also have the soups (phở and bún bò Huế) which hit just right. Cô Sáu is usually in there with a red shirt on - make sure you tell her Nathan sent you - She will treat you good!

Came here for a dine in family lunch. Nice tables and atmosphere, but very hard to get someone’s attention even as the only people in the store. Place had reasonable food at a reasonable price. The fried rice was quite nice, but the beef wasn’t great & they were stingy with the black bean sauce. The customer service was friendly, but lacking. They had to be waved over to order food, then deposited food and left so quickly we had to call them back to order drinks and then just went to the counter when we wanted anything after that. I’d have rated high if the customer service was better or the sauce poured more liberally.

Every dish delicious never disappoints serving generous had to ask for doggy bag hard to say which dish tasted best...highly recommend this eating establishment..

Not just Vietnamese cuisine .... Location wise, very handy on the food esplanade of Brunswick East. One of the few Asian cuisine, seems like the only Vietnamese restaurant judging by its name. Not much in terms of set up, quite a pleasant service. Food wise, not the most authentic Vietnamese cuisine, more like a compilation of South East Asian cuisines. Salt & pepper Calamari, Sweet & Sour Barramundi, Vietnamese Chilli Beef and Prawns Salad. BYO wines as there aren't much option. Average food, good value for money and quite enjoyable. I first tried this place since it was the closest vietnamese restaurant to my house. But..... it was soo good and now I only get my vietnamese food from here. It's been at least few years since I had my first pho from here and it was really good. On top of that, the old lady who works there is so lovely and nice it feels like i'm visiting my grandma's house for some homemade food. I would definitely recommend people to try this place at least once! I'd be surprised if you get disappointed.

I was desperately wanting something fresh and full of vegetables (different to the usual cafe fare) and so decided to come here for lunch yesterday. I picked the Laksa and absolutely loved it. The other food coming out of the kitchen all smelled amazing as well. A special mention to the staff who were really friendly. I'll certainly be coming again.

Delicious food, excellent service. Every thing is delicious in this family bussiness restaurant. İ would reccomend the wonton soup as well as the pho soup. Every single piece of meat, dough and vegetables is handled with care and love and it shows in the taste of the food. İ would also reccomend the fried rice and crispy chicken dishes.

We (family) have had a few meals at Ah Minh and I must say they are always friendly, efficient, quick and the food is always fresh and delicious. I recommend this restaurant to those looking for some homestyle hospitality and a wonderful meal.

My new favourite spot. The food is always so delicious, especially the Vietnamese vermicelli bowl with chicken or pork! The owners make you feel like you are in their home, they are so lovely.. The restaurant overlooks Lygon street so it is also a really good people watching spot. Thank you Anh Minh.

Tried their curry laksa. One of the worst in the area. Less than halfway through the meal and gave up on finishing it. Rip off & disappointing food in my experience!

Excellent, well priced food at a lovely little restaurant with lovely owners and staff. It's modest, not flashy but all the more authentic. The sea food Pad Thai is one of my favourite dishes.

We could not wait to go back after 4 months of lockdown! We have our favourites- tofu and eggplant curry, fish any way they cook it is amazing. Best dumplings, great noodles and triple three Vietnamese beer. All served with kindness and smiles (behind masks)!

The owner is ssooooo lovely. It was our friends birthday and she got a big happy birthday sparkler with her fried ice cream (which was freakin’ delish). Our group of 6 ate for $20 each + byo and we did NOT leave hungry. 10/10

First time here and the food is great. Very basic atmosphere but comfortable. Staff are attentive, meals are served well, clean toilets. Yep... I'll be back. However it would be nice to have a little background music .

The eggplant and tofu curry is fantastic. Worth the visit just for that. Other veg options simple and not a great deal of flavour but a good offset. Nice family restaurant. Been there a number of times.
