ORIGINAL REVIEW: The gym itself is not bad, having trained here for some months now. Equipment is clean, the space is pretty well kept, instructors are pleasant enough and the 24 hour option is definitely a plus. However: There is one point which, after some time observing how other gym goers use the facilities, needs to be made. This particular site has only two showers. These are located in separate rooms - logically to allow for male and female customers to use a shower simultaneously - and as such are locked when in use. The problem with this arrangement is thrown into stark relief when you wish to use either of these after a workout, and you are on a schedule. One example of this was wanting a short lunch workout after which I have to shower before returning to work. After waiting for over 20 minutes for either of the shower rooms to be vacated a bloke comes wandering out of one after doing, well, i don't know what in there for what would have beeen approaching half an hour. In trying to get around this, I moved a workout to the morning and then an evening timeslot. Only 50% difference there, as on one of these two occasions it meant a solid fifteen minute wait for a shower (after checking both were occupied first, using the toilet and then returning). To the folks handling management of the site: Please, please, please please PLEASE - Can you manufacture and place - conspicuously - a sign for each shower room with messaging to indicate to (and encourage shower users) that 10 minutes per person or as close thereto as is possible, is a very reasonable amount of time for anyone to be needing a shared shower facility for. It takes me no more than 8 minutes to enter the room, undress, shower (with a hair wash), dry off, redress and exit. I do not think it unfair to expect this of other users of a shared shower facility. Clearly some of the customers here do not share this view, and as none of those who i have witnessed making overly extensive use of the shower facilities has presented any form of physical limitation that would dictate a need to spend longer in the shower, I have to deduce that they are just taking their time. Which I'm afraid is not a luxury available to all of us in the city. Again, I would ask that you manufacture and place signage in each shower area to encourage fair usage - also to please mention this by way of your induction process as this is quite comprehensive - and to remind people that there are others who do also need access to said facilities in a timely fashion. It would really be appreciated.
Had to change my review due to such a negative experience trying to cancel. The gym itself is great and staff are friendly. However, canceling has been a big headache. Firstly, the form didn’t work online as my details were not entered correctly, secondly I contacted them straight after, using their online contact form but never heard back, then I called and they corrected my date of birth but would not refund me from when I tried to cancel. I canceled my direct debit after noticing the form didn’t work ,therefore, Anytime said I owe them for the past month (moved areas so not even been able to use the gym) and just to add my partner got told on the phone whilst I was there by an employee that “you can cancel your direct debit and it will cancel your membership”. After going back and forth, I paid it and they emailed days later to ask if they can authorize a direct debit again to pay my outstanding balance. Just all really disappointing as I’ve had a gym refund me in a similar situation and just feels like anytime fitness just want to get the pennies from members instead of do what’s morally right. They also evidently have issues with their online systems and don’t link their offline calls to have updates for each persons account.
Utterly Disappointed - Have been a member of the gym for over a year and really disappointed with how the company has chosen to deal with my partner choosing to end her membership. She called up well over a month ago and accepted that she would be billed for another month until the membership was completely cancelled. Another month has gone by and she's been charged yet again. Obviously mistakes happen so she contacted the manager to explain the situation, apparently the 'person we spoke to has left the company and there aren't any notes on her account noting that a cancellation request was made', so in layman's terms, due to the negligence of an anytime fitness member of staff, the customer has to cover the cost. Because Anytime fitness didn't bother to send an email confirming this, or put any notes on a customers account, the company are happy to let the customer pay for it! Just reading through other reviews it's also something that has happened to previous customers, so clearly an ongoing issue that hasn't been addressed by the company.
Terrible customer service and a poor business model. I tried cancelling my membership online and kept getting a message that my account wasn’t recognised, forcing me to cancel over the phone with a member of staff (which apparently they are not supposed to do, but this was never mentioned). I was advised that one final payment would be taken from my account, but the following month payment was taken again. When I explained what happened I was told the member of staff who dealt with my enquiry had now left the business and there was no record of our conversation, so even though the manager ‘believed me’ he would be unable to process a refund. Both the manager and the regional manager were extremely unhelpful, refusing to accept any responsibility and claiming that because Anytime Fitness is a franchise there was nothing they could do. Having seen similar reviews this obviously isn’t the first time this has happened, so unlikely to change any time soon – clearly it suits them better to leave customers out of pocket for Anytime Fitness’ errors.
Good gym club, however, the management largely diminishes this. I spoke to your team back regarding my membership reactivation and they informed me I had to come into the branch to deactivate the fob. I called up your team a few weeks after and a colleague helped me over the phone to reactivate my fob via a temporary signature. I had been told I couldn’t use the gym as I needed to come in and sign a form, but I was unable to make it during your office hours. Why didn’t your team inform me of this before? As I’m paying and I couldn’t use the gym due to your team not activating my fob, therefore I should have credit for this. In addition to this, my partner was charged for her gym membership during lockdown when all gyms were required to be shut but other were offering discounts to their customers but AF twickenham did not. If you don’t have the date where I called your club regarding this, it states a lot about how Twickenham Anytime fitness is managed. Terrible management from Charlotte.
Beware! Anytime Fitness Twickenham is not reimbursing anyone for the closures during covid - you will not get your membership payment reimbursed even though you have not been able to use it. All the other Gyms around Twickenham are refunding customers but this one doesn’t - so you will lose your money. If you request it, the manager blatantly refuses, basically you get a rude and abrupt email saying ‘ We are not going to refund you’ - so basically don’t bother trying. What she doesn’t realise is that this is illegal (which is why all the other gyms are refunding customers) so she will have to face the legal ramifications that are coming her way. Some I know have had to go to the bank to try to get their money back. With numerous high quality gyms in the area (with a professional manager and decent customer service) everyone I know has dropped Anytime Fitness and will never return.
Fay is a fabulous PT and has changed my outlook to coming to the gym already! Fay has that rare ability to be able to explain and demonstrate technical movements in a way that's so easily understandable - she's also just a lovely ray of sunshine (although I may not always say that in the middle of a gruelling session!). Fay also runs some brilliant classes at the gym which I'd highly recommend! My confidence in using the equipment through the gym is so much higher thanks to Fay's guidance. The staff at AF are super friendly and welcoming. It's clean, tidy and got everything you need. I highly recommend both Fay and Anytime Fitness generally.
Twickenham Anytime fitness: I queried the cancellation terms on my one year membership contract recently as the contract states you can only cancel for three reasons, which are all restrictive. I am pleased to say the club manager replied saying that these clauses only apply to the initial sign on period, and after you have got past that point you can cancel for any reason. I've had problems with other gyms in the past who use these cancellation clauses to restrict people leaving, so be careful when you sign up to fitness clubs and check the small print.
Management changed, decided I didn’t want to stay. Now can’t leave: manager won’t reply, anytime fitness HQ no contact number, being charged late fees even though did correct process to cancel. Anytime Fitness is a scam, not a professional business. I’m disgusted. *update: Regional manager got involved & resolved matter promptly. He was great. I understand he’s changed staff at this gym now so go check it out for yourself
This gym is refusing to reimburse me for their covid closures so I have lost money. The manager is rude when you request to be refunded. I have reported them to the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) who take action against scrupulous companies who are breaking the law during covid regulations. I suggest others who have lost money to this gym to do the same - it's very easy to do, just takes a few minutes online.
Extremely friendly Gym staff who are always happy to help support you. A massive shout out to Rachel, Jake and Biba for being the super supportive and motivating during sessions. The facilities are maintained to a high standard both of quality and cleanliness. I have never felt so comfortable in a gym and 100% recommend this branch to everyone. ☆☆☆☆☆
1st visit to a gym since an unfortunate car vs. cycle incident, before all the pandemic nonsense started. A Watt bike is much safer. Gym is nicely spaced out with wipes and hand sanitizer everywhere. Very friendly staff and courteous other users, and lots of up to date kit. Large studio for classes, and big free weights area. Just what I needed.
Great equipment, very friendly staff, reasonable member fee and open 24 hours. Out of all the gym chains I have been to, Anytime Fitness is the only one that is not crowded because of the member cap they have in place. There are plenty of classes to chose from, and you can go to any other branch for a workout without any hassle.
Good, generally clean facilities (late on a Sunday after the gym has been unmanned for a while the changing rooms can get a little gnarly). Staff are friendly and happy to help but what I like most is the signup limit they impose so it doesn’t get too busy. Free 3-day trial membership is available.
Clean gym, modern equipment, friendly staff however it's extremely busy after work and can't even get on a treadmill as it's an extremely small gym. Would recommend during non-peak hours as they also have parking but bit difficult during peak hours if you want to get a quick workout done.
AMAZING GYM! The staff here is incredibly friendly, specially Biba. She knows how to push you to the limit in the best way possible with your workouts. It's amazing to see how much she cares about everyone. Such a family vibe as soon as you walk in the doors.
I actually look forward to my PT sessions with Fay. She ensures that my technique is always correct to avoid injuries, and that my goals are met. She is extremely reliable & punctual and always has an exercise routine planned. Would highly recommend.
The machines room it’s super quiet and clean. Unfortunately the Pilates class gets too noisy and chatty and it’s almost impossible to relax. Also, I wish they had more space for Pilates and yoga classes as they get fully booked quite quickly.
Best gym I have ever attended! Very clean, friendly staff and equipment fixed fast when there is any problems. Highly recommended for local people, lots of classes to choose from and pretty much every weight machine I have ever seen!
This has been my go-to place during my solo work attachment. Biba and her team at anytime fitness twickenham are an exceptional bunch:) Always positive and super helpful, I felt safe and at ease working out here, highly recommended!
Anytime Fitness is a fantastic place to do your training. All the staff are really helpful and the equipment is in excellent condition. I would definitely recommend you to use this gym because it is the best gym in this area!!!
Some members of staff are very good but management and owners are unhelpful. Equipment is out of date and constantly breaking, price is too high for what the membership offers especially considering it is a 12 month contract.
I have been a member here for over 2 years and love it. It’s in a great location, the staff are lovely, helpful, professional, friendly and polite. Price is good and equipment is varied and suits my needs.
Excellent facilities post-lockdown, equipment is well spaced apart and it's not been too crowded. Make sure to check out the classes room as they've moved some of the equipment there to maximize on space
During my time at anytime fitness I've found I've been able to lose weight which was one of my goals and I've also found the atmosphere and staff to be friendly especially Chris, Simon and Alex.

Good gym with most equipment you would expect or need. They run a number of fitness classes too. Friendly staff (however it's not staffed at night, being a 24 hr gym). Handy to town centre.
24 hr Gym next to the Travelodge near Twickenham Station. Good equipment, personal trainers available (~£33/30mins - cheaper if you buy in blocks). Showers etc. Lockers and secure entry.
Came in for a day pass as I was staying in a hotel around the area, staff were very friendly and helpful in sorting me out. Good equipment and great staff, highly recommend …

At 6:15 am it is rare that I have to queue for anything. The equipment is all new'ish and in good working order. They offer hand gel and wipes for around the gym.
