Overall pretty terrible experience. I had to go in 2 separate times each I scheduled an appointment and still had to wait 45 mins for one and 30 mins for the other after arriving 5-10 mins early. Once I got paired with a "Genius" they were not helpful. The first time the associate tried and we did what he and I felt was best to help resolve my issue. I guess there was a communication error because when I got my Mac back it wasn't exactly how he said it would be (Regarding software) The second time i went in to resolve an issue the "Genius" was extremely rude and very unhelpful. I am not a huge tech person but i understand enough of it, before we even started working on the issue he was already trying to sell me additional apple products. He also kept telling me "I am the best technician on the floor" almost making it seem like I should be grateful to be in his presence. Basically had to leave the store after not resolving any of my issues and him lecturing me on how "Apple does not make LAPTOPS, if you put this on your lap or a blanket when using it, it is going to break" He did not enjoy when i told him my Mac is always on my desk. He was just trying to find ways to make the battery and software problem be my, the customers fault. Even-though he continuously said how great the condition was. Ended up going a 3rd time and had another unhelpful “genius”. She kept recommending something to resolve my battery issue and I asked her to show me information regarding the actions she recommended . She could not find anything and was purely suggesting ideas with not evidence to support it. Even the store manager told her she was wrong after I spoke with her for about 30 mins trying to say the same thing. Bottomline, the store associated are slow, rude, and unhelpful. You will wait minimum 30 mins to be seen and likely leave without resolving your original issues. I am not surprised they do not care, they are always crowded and always have customers coming in so it seems that they can just be rude and we will have to deal with it. Hate this store, hate going in, i dread it every-time... Update … had to go again to get a new phone since I was covered on Apple Care and WOW still an awful experience. Completely messed up my watch, multiple apps, and web browsers. HIGHLY RECOMMEND not going here. Many of the employees are very dumb when it comes to customer care/concern

I came to pick up my online order. I was told to do a line inside. I did the line, once I got to speak to a customer service representative I was told that I was in the wrong line and that I needed to be outside. Once outside I requested to speak to a manager because I arrived 15 minutes early to my appointment and they did not allow me to pick up my watch earlier than my arranged appointment. I explained my reasons of needing to be accommodated. I was running out of time, needing to drive to Lagrange IL. I was offered to come for the watch (online order) on another day. I live very far from this particular store. I asked for an accommodation, staff informed Manager Courtney of my situation, Courtney saw me from far and send staff to inform me that she was busy. Manager Courtney came 5+ minutes after, I explained my situation, she informed me that I had to wait at least 7 minutes before my pick up. There was barely 3 people in line. I was standing in the corner until my time, suddenly a caucasian women showed up at 12:18 and said “I am here for my 12:30 appointment”. She was allowed to go in. The 2 staff did not tell her that she needed to wait. I looked at them and they realized I was standing there waiting for no reason. I am posting a picture of the line. I am suggesting for cameras to be looked at. I could not come up with this! I finally got in, during my pick up time I asked staff for a different size in watch. Staff member informed me that it was a big process to give me a different size. To take the watch and that I had 14 days to return. Absolutely nothing went right on my visit to this store. The worse Apple experience I ever had. Never will I come back to this store. Apple I suggest you do mystery shoppers on the daily. Garbage store!

Today’s visit finally revealed why customer service is so bad here. I took a friend to buy a new phone, case, and screen saver. He had ordered everything on line before hand. First, the gentleman serving him had to shift between several customers and was unable to focus on my friend. Second, he passed my friend off to a new employee. Third, the new employee said he had no idea how to put on the screen saver - no one did. Fourth, they had to swap the screen saver my friend had purchased on line for one they knew how to put on. Fifth, this fellow had to leave abruptly because his manager insisted he take a break. Sixth, no one could explain why the battery of the new phone was depleting so rapidly while we were sitting there. Here is what we learned. These employees are NOT allowed to spend more than 15 minutes with one person. This is why they pass customers around. Breaks are not flexible, but mandatory - no matter if the customer is left stranded. The person on line who guides you to specific products has no idea of your skills or limitations. And they don’t ask. Finally, the people hired there do not know how to communicate with people with less technical knowledge than they have. My recommendation: Do NOT use this store. Ever. Even if their intentions are good, the employees are prevented from properly serving the customers by the very terms of the work rules under which they operate.

Incredibly disappointing x 4! I went there to have my cracked screen protector replaced in my iPhone 13. #1: I was told they didn’t have one, but the 12 was the same thing and they will install that one. #2: The person installing it said nothing about it being too small, just went ahead and installed it. I realized a little later that it was, in fact, too small and not the same as the 13’s protector. #3: I spoke with someone at Apple Support. They put me on hold, came back and said they called the store, to Angel, and they actually do have the correct one, so I need to go back and they will remedy the issue- it appears they lied to me. #4: I went back and learned there was no Angel there and they didn’t have it. The person I was talking to at the store said he’d go get a manager to come over and speak with me. The manager clearly looked over at me, and told that person to refund my money, but didn’t even find it important enough to walk over to me, appropriately 100 feet away, to speak to me directly and perhaps apologize. I received no apology from anyone there- it’s a very sad day when the customer becomes an interruption or bother vs the primary reason for running a successful business!!

The check in system at this store blows! I walked in & checked in and waited to be called. I kept seeing people walk in and get taken care of and leave and I was still there sitting. Mind you I asked the person whom checked me in twice on an update (waited 1 hour) and they said I would be next. The reason why the employees are not able to find you is because the check in person describes what you’re wearing along with your name. Mind you it’s winter and everyone is Wearing a jacket. Seriously apple what kind of system is that? For a technology moving forward company you lack structure. Come up with a better system. I came in at 12pm and it’s now 3:25 and I’m still waiting for my phone to be worked on. On the plus side I did get a discount for the inconvenience however it was mediocre at best! While waiting for my phone I saw several Spanish speaking customers being communicated by a translator by non Spanish speaking personnel. Seriously this store lacks diversity. You must not really care about the customer service being provided.

Very bad experience with Apple Store at that location. I was having issue with the keyboard quality with my brand new MacBook Pro. I intentionally avoided this store for numerous reasons, so I dropped it off at Apple Northbrook Store for repair. Repair was fast enough, but when I received the computer back, the key board was replaced with a brand new FOREIGN LANGUAGE keyboard....Long story short, the online support agent referenced me to stop by at my nearest store to see if I can get in and have it dropped off for repair. I went there, waited for an available agent, the agent/advisor told me I have to wait 2.5 hrs because its not an emergency and I can't just drop it off, lol. Then she suggested to have phone support to call me, then send me away. This is your (Apple) fault...so don't waste my time on having it done right, really disappointed in their customer service, really bad for a world top tier company that proud of their customer support.

These people here gloat in misery. I brought in a laptop with a slight manufacturing cosmetic defect, and they mentioned that “they didn’t have the money” to repair and that I would be charged when it’s a clear manufacturer’s defect and still under Apple care. I got the impression that they’d look for any excuse to dismiss you, such as referring you to Best buy, when they clearly know they’d be accountable as the Manufacturer. When you are frustrated with them and confront them on their blunt refusal, they’d accuse you of having a derogatory tone., even if you are just frustrated and haven’t used a single swear word. I spoke with the manager there named Barry and this is how everything went. Apple coverage or warranty doesn’t work., especially if you are not a white person. The other reviews about racism with regards to this location is most likely true. I don’t think I will ever buy another overpriced Apple gadget in my life.

Highly recommend just saving yourself some headaches and some time, go straight for the one on Michigan Ave. super unprofessional. Waited for about 10 minutes to talk to a customer representative about purchasing a watch, saw one of them just standing around looking lost so I approached him and asked for assistance, he brought me back to the table where I was originally waiting even though the apple rep already serving another guest. I decided to purchase the order online for pickup since I’ve been waiting for about 30 minutes at that point. I proceed to talk to another apple rep, and he told there’s nothing he can do about helping getting the watch, I have to wait for a pick up confirmation email which will tell me when the watch will be ready. So I asked does he have an ETA for it, he proceeded to say nope can be a few minutes or a few hours. Recommended me leaving and coming back later.

Just got out of the Apple Store from an appointment. Appointment was supposed to be at 2pm. Got there 5 minutes late, checked in, waited for a hour, asked another person to check me in. Apparently the 2pm reschedule appointment I did never logged in only my prior cancelled 11:15am appointment did. Issue resolved I guess. Lady whose name I forgot to asked was nice enough to help me there. However, whoever the first guy who checked me should have told me these details sooner. Three people who had appointments after 2pm finished before me. My appointment finished around 3:30pm. Shouldn’t take a hour and a half to help fix earbud issues physical and connectivity problems. Apple needs to fix their appointment system since it’s lacking. No point in scheduling if this kind of problem persists. Also, they should have charged me for free instead of $29 BS.

Wish I could have gone to a different Apple store. This place kept me waiting for an hour long. Aside from waiting, 1 individual was completely rude, and felt that his response was a bit offensive. Another individual took my wife's name down and promised to be called within 15 minutes. Waited the hour, then had to ask someone what the status was, come to find out that they didn't really take our name.... Only reason I was patient was because of the "busy" day the store had and really had no where to be. BUT, came to realize, there was a bunch that were just talking and laughing. At the end, I asked for help, promised the next person would help right away, waited 5 minutes, and made my purchase which did not even take more than 3 minutes. To include, heard a lot of complaining in that store. I would suggest a different store......

My sister had an unpleasant encounter with one of the security guards at this Apple Store. She had just purchased a new iPhone and, unfortunately, needed the store's WiFi to access her train ticket. When she returned to the store, the security guard on duty yelled at her to "get out" without giving her a chance to explain her situation. Despite her attempts to explain that she had been in the store a few minutes earlier and only needed the WiFi briefly, the security guard continued to shout and make a scene. This unnecessary and aggressive behavior not only embarrassed my sister but also drew unwanted attention from other customers who were laughing at them. This encounter left a negative impression on my sister, and I hope that the store will take steps to ensure a more respectful and customer-friendly approach in the future.

Had my phone repaired in September 2022 for broken back glass panel. This was the first time the phone had been serviced and Apple Lincoln Park/Apple Care coverage were great. Brought the same phone to the store January 2023 for a minor front glass crack. They said the phone was not repairable and told me that I must have had my phone worked on by a third party that stripped some internal screws. This phone was worked on one time previously, by Apple Lincoln park.. Not by me, not by a third party. Why else would I pay for Apple Care? None the less they decided I'm a liar and that their technicians couldn't possibly have made a mistake. It was just impossible, their techs are perfect. I feel completely scammed and totally robbed. Go to another store.

Jacob was amazing! I have been to this Apple store a few times to purchase a phone, Apple watch and more. I have always received very good service. Jacob took it to another level! I was purchasing a new watch which was difficult to find the one I wanted. I also needed to return an item, and get a screensaver for my new Apple phone (they were out of stock when I purchased my phone here). Jacob’s service was exceptional, friendly, knowledgeable, and he offered a few suggestions I hadn’t considered before arriving. I have been purchasing Apple products in 3 different cities where we’ve lived through the years and Jacob is the finest sales rep in all my experiences. I will continue purchasing items here for my family and I.

As per usual, the staff wasted my time for hours, told me the wrong information, then didn't solve any of my problems. This is just a constant Apple problem it seems they have the most incompetent staff and the company seems to only able to create technology problems without being able to fix anything. To be honest, half their staff should be fired. Like it's one thing to be a complete idiot, it's another thing to be condescending. Like if you can't have intelligence, at least have manners-- and yes this is in regards to the idiot "Genius" Bar guy with the forehead wrinkles and beard. Not sure why they are called "Genius Bar" when they should rename it "Incompetent Bar" because the staff are BEYOND INCOMPETENT.

Shopping is made simpler by the presence of this Apple store. Additionally, it is close to Chicago's downtown. However, Apple Store staff members are disrespectful and not well-trained. They fabricate a tale out of a trivial matter to squander peoples' time. There is no acceptance of the digital Apple gift card given by Chase Bank. They only took gift cards from the Apple Store. Those Digit gift cards are simple to redeem and add to an Apple account. They informed me that "they only expected sending from an Apple Store Gmail account." sent from apple store Gmail account.'' I only waste my time going there and coming back. And I prefer my friend and family not to go to this apple store.

Went to fix moderate broken back for iPhone. Estimated 1 hr 15 mins. It was 2.5 hours and they say we couldn’t fix the back due to overheat battery. Wasted my time since I had to keep coming back every 20 mins as instructed. On top of that, they couldn’t even help set up the T-Mobile activation for the account because apple no longer has a contract to do so. They sent me over to the T-Mobile store next door, only to be told Apple Store could have done it if they went online to activate. Apparently, this store has been sending users over to avoid having to further help with the set up. The t-mobile agents helped me regardless even though they don’t mKe commission off of such help.

Super busy, had to wait 20 minutes past my appointment at the Genius Bar to get any help, which is okay. Totally fine, especially on a Saturday afternoon. The issue is how my AirPod pros somehow don’t fit under the 2020 recall program for sound issues even tho my AirPods fit all the criteria to get them serviced/replaced. I bought them within 3 years, they were manufactured before 2020 like it said they are suppose to be and they make the crackling static audio issues. I was rejected simply because my pods didn’t make a list of serial numbers? I just don’t understand if they hit all the check marks and yet still couldn’t get serviced for a defected product that was their fault….

Came here to get my phone looked at because the charger was acting up. Parking is tough directly around the store but found some solid parking a block away. I booked a genius appointment online and they already knew my name upon entering the store in that magical yet oddly terrifying apple way. It's cool tho the service was great and they were all friendly and efficient. There was a moment where the apple tech was like "I just need to plug this into our test machine" and then seemingly vanished a la Harry Houdini but they were back shortly and had my issue resolved. It was also very clean and well lit and no one made me feel bad for throwing up on one of the display macbooks

Apple will never change! The batteries in the iPhone 5 and 6 at least are defective and stop charging or even worst swell up and can explode. The batteries in my phones got swollen so bad one phone broke apart and the other, the screen cracked and no I didn't crack the screen the swollen battery did. Apple tried to blame me and charge me for a battery and to fix the screen. Omg I can't believe they even tried to do that. Google it the iPhone battery issues. I went to this store and they not only tried to blame me but nothing got done with my other phones and Apple always had some sort of excuses. I'll never go there again I hope

Very nice staff and we were helped quickly. I stopped by without an appointment to see if they had the new model in stock and they did. The staff put me down for a in store pickup right away and I waited around 5 minutes before being helped. Purchase was easy and they had a table in the back where we can sit while my information transferred over. This part took the longest time but it’s understandable. We parked in the New City garage and walked over (we bought something at Mariano’s to validate parking). If you’re not driving, this is a very convenient location right outside the North/Clybourn L stop.

Not a good experience, after waiting for two hours, to trade my iPhone XR A sales associate check my phone and try to recover a back up, waiting another two hrs can’t successfully couldn’t do it, she said it’s a 12 Years veteran working for the Apple company did not resolve my issue, Short hair petite, don’t recommend to work with her, to make the history shorter, she wants to disposal my iPhone, Are you ok, my iPhone it’s almost brand new! At the end did not have the cortesia, to offer a different iPhone, never ever going back there! Thanks Apple Store, Lincoln Parrk Ps: please retrain this Girl

All my previous visits on this store were Great. Staff was polite and really tried to help. Today both of the members were impolite.1 st lady told me we help only if you buy from our store. I felt like she was trying to get rid of me.I tried to reach someone. The 2nd lady looked more polite but after 5 minutes she left and start chating with coworkers instead of helping a customer .. no one else asked me if I need anything. I was looking to switch to Apple because of the Good custoner service. Not in this store.The only reason I give 2 stars instead of 1 is for the guy who helped me last time

Horrible experiences at the Apple Lincoln Park Store. Several employees and managers are just arrogant and Apple Corporate thinks it’s ok that they don’t even answer the phone. They claimed my computer that I took in for repair was now working when they did absolutely nothing to it. I dealt with this store for two months and based on all the inconsistent communication, I felt harassed and I hate the thought of having to go there and pick up my computer that they did nothing to. Don’t go to this store. Apple support is ok if you just like to be on the phone for up to one hour-with no result.

What an absolutely ridiculous purchase experience. I was trying my hardest to give them $1000+ for a new device but they made the process laughable. Two different failures on their website purchase path, advice from three different Apple employees that resulted in a block on credit card and 4+ hours on the phone later, I was able to purchase the device 3 days later (missing the opportunity to give it as a birthday gift on time) for $50 more than the original price... And I got tons of arrogant Apple attitude thrown in for free! Seriously can't make this stuff up.

Wanted to change from iPhone 14 Pro Max to a standard 15 but had a little bit of a weird situation in trying to do so. Antoine (sorry if I spelled your name wrong!) was super efficient, helpful, kind, and most of all, successful. They were able to get me in and out relatively quickly (given all the updates necessary on the new phone) even on Black Friday. The help I received at the "staging table," I'll call it, was also top tier. Multiple people came around to make sure I was doing well and assisted in any way they could to speed up the process. Pro experience.

This is probably the worst Apple Store I’ve been in.. consistently! Recently had to go back here for service at the not-so-Genius bar. Aside from reading a script, they were useless. And, the rep I stated with (Janai) said she had a “meeting” halfway through and someone would come finish with me. I waited nearly 15 minutes. When they finally came they had no clue what she had already done or where she left off. Not only never coming back here, but may get out of all of my Apple products. VERY disappointing!

Anytime I’m looking to upgrade any of my Apple Devices, or if I encounter the occasional technical difficulty, this place is my destination. There’s plenty of display items I can interact with to see how they’ll work for me, there is plenty of knowledgeable staff to answer my questions or solve my problem, and it’s always been a very quick and smooth process. I’ve been to other Apple stores both here in Chicago as well as other cities and this place is by far the best of those I’ve experienced!

I experienced the best customer service of my life at this location on 6/19. THE BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE OF MY ENTIRE LIFE! I was experiencing many issues so I was there for awhile but I had the most attentive people helping me. Everyone who worked with me was calm and professional (Matthew/ Alyssa). Thank you Raquel for not giving up when extremely frustrating issues occurred. She reached out to other t members, called my phone company. She really went above and beyond. Thank you everyone

I went regarding an issue with my phone not charging. The staff was very friendly and Edgar was able to help me save over $500 on the repair that my phone needed. Additionally, when I went to pick up my repaired phone, I arrived a couple minutes after close and both the security and Apple team were extremely kind and helped me to get my phone restarted and restored anyway. Though I hope I won't encounter any more phone issues, I will certainly revisit Apple Lincoln Park if I do.

Go here if you want to get gaslighted by the employees until you accept their answer. They make you feel like you’re in the wrong and your problem doesn’t exist. They “repaired” my phone three times this week and each time the technician messed something up or they left dust inside my front facing camera. I went to the downtown location and they took awesome care of me and my iPhone. I will never be stopping at this location again. I will also be escalating this higher.

I am grateful to find great customer service in a world where it is lacking more and more each day. It’s refreshing to be greeted by a pleasant smile and an attitude of being of service. If you’re driving, do-not park on the street opposite the shop, you will get a ticket! The store is massive and it was crowded. But we were able to see a representative with almost no wait. The staff was friendly and very helpful. I went in to trade in my iPhone xr for the new 14 pro max. Really disappointed that there is not special wifi for people actually getting a new phone. The backing up took for ever on the store wifi.

Andy was extremely unhelpful and rude didn’t even care to ask for what color of the case I was looking for; instead, he decided to read the whole inventory of the store, of course, so that he could make his sell I walked away without getting my husband his valentines gift. Andy needs some more customer service training and actually Ask for what the customer is looking for and NOT what He wanted us to buy.

If you think that everyone will take care you, you are wrong. I went to tell the staff that I would like to purchase a new phone, 1st staff guided me to the table, we waited for 0 mins no one come to say anything so I went 2nd time to ask for help, 2nd staff took me another table then wait again until now 25 mins pass no one come to help. it seem like no one is willing to help.

First off, the guy who checked me in was one of the sweetest people ever, I was having a meltdown because my laptop crashed before a really important event and I was very upset and he was so nice and understanding, and then the person who helped me out with my problem, Brian was very patient with me and helped me through every step of the process, I love the staff here.

Very helpful staff, came in for a trade-in for an iPhone 14 Pro Max and they explained all the questions and they were able to wait and verify that all your data was transferred from your old phone to the new one, (it took time, but make sure to make a back up of your pictures and videos at home because that's the main thing that causes a lot of time transferring).

Went here to try and fix my phone since it would hardly ever charge. Waited forever and for help and the technician was rude and condescending for no reason, told me I was wrong and just needed to update my software, and sent me away without solving my problem one bit. Spent an hour and a half here and it was a total waste of time. Great job team.

Despite making an appointment with the genius bar, I still had to wait 20 additional minutes to be seen, only for them to tell me that they don’t have my battery in stock for the repair. Apple needs to update its booking system to reflect the actual inventory and stock before they make people waste their time going to the store.

After the release of the new iPhone, we searched at multiple locations until we found our perfect match at Lincoln Park. The customer service at this location was just outstanding. Bola was very helpful with the whole procedure of purchasing the new phone. The attentiveness of the employees greatly enhanced our experience!

Super busy in the middle of the day for whatever reason. Everything is slow and there's not enough workers to get through customers efficiently. Not to mention everything is overpriced. A basic setup with large wooden tables where people can sit or stand. At least it's cool inside so you're bot burning up while you wait.

Spent the next 10 minutes attempting to get the attention of a couple of employees, but were just waved at or ignored. Walked out empty handed, good job Apple.

A true treat of an experience. I was fully prepared to have a long appointment with the Genius Bar, including trying many of the resets and trouble shooting I had already done. Not the case. Brought my laptop in to get the screen repaired which was already very expensive to do because it was not covered by my warranty but upon receiving it back I saw they removed my trackpad cover which seemed unnecessary but the annoying part is they did not even put it back on correctly as seen in the photo.

Very rude. Just walked in, picked a pair of $20 headphones. Went up to 2 sales associates, 1 with a cash out device. The other with his arms crossed, both in green associate shirts. Associate 1 walked away. Associate 2, with arms crossed said “ I will find someone” I put the item down and walked away.

Garbage service, not a warranty or Apple care + insurance could guide these people into making the right decisions and corrective actions to their faulty products to satisfy the customer. A damn shame. And a nightmare to deal with. Absolutely never buying anything or getting anything serviced here.

It’s always so busy it’s like a Trader Joe’s on a Friday afternoon. Even if you make an appointment and get there on time, there’s still a wait to get any service. The employees are super accommodating though so if you’re in a hurry they’ll try to help you out.
