"Was recommended to John at apple tree family law following the start of my divorce proceedings at the start of 2019, throughout the process John was always very honest with his advice, and was very clear from the start that going to court should be the last resort! he drew up my financial order, and has just acted on my behalf following the sale of the family home, there have been no hidden charges, if anything he has given me a lot more of his free time than I would of expected"

Apple Tree is John Pratley. The very name of the business implies a more consensual approach, so if you want a divorce where you can still talk to your ex-partner afterwards, then Apple Tree/John is an appropriate choice. I found that the divorce process can be constructive as long as your partner (soon to be ex) also chooses a solicitor of the same ilk rather than one hell bent on maximising the chances of a lucrative court case (lucrative for the solicitor that is). With help from John we managed to steer things towards mediation. After that it was about following a fair process with the aim of maximising the benefits to each, divorce this way is not a zero sum game. John let the mediation process roll and was there to provide legal advice when needed and quickly. You also need an IFA who is fully briefed during this stage. So Apple Tree + Mediator + IFA + a constructive solicitor for the other party can = a fair divorce (probably).

I approached Apple Tree Family law for support with my divorce. John Pratley was quick to respond and took me through what would be required and what the expected costs would be. Communications have always been timely and clear, I wasn’t left in any doubt as to how things would progress, what I’d need to do and again, what the costs would be. John is very professional in everything he does, I felt assured my interests were always being represented. A big plus for me was Johns frankness about things, he was direct and to the point about elements of the divorce and provided clarity about options available to me. I did get other quotes for legal support with my divorce but Apple Tree were far more reasonable and I say good value for money. I can’t certainly recommend John and Apple Tree Family Law.

Was recommended to John at apple tree family law following the start of my divorce proceedings at the start of 2019, throughout the process John was always very honest with his advice, and was very clear from the start that going to court should be the last resort! he drew up my financial order, and has just acted on my behalf following the sale of the family home, there have been no hidden charges, if anything he has given me a lot more of his free time than I would of expected. Never nice needing a solicitor for a breakdown in marriage, but John and apple tree law ensured there was no added stress to the situation, highly recommended

Pathetic. Complete Waste of time. Was going thru a contentious divorce, had an urgent matter, made more than 12 calls. A hired outsider in virtual office takes your number with a robotic 'is with a client, will call back'. Never did. Later realised ..is more a one-man shop operating a 'lifestyle business' to suit owner rather than client. probably pays to rank on Google. Have any matter of any consequence - avoid!!!

John made my divorce very easy for me. He is very knowledgeable and courteous in all his interactions whether over the phone or email. I am a bit of a worrier and probably contacted him and the office more than I needed to, yet I always received a prompt and polite reply to the smallest of my queries. The service provided was also at a reasonable cost to me and I would highly recommend using him.

Excellent, professional service from start to finish. John Pratley guided me through a difficult and complicated financial separation with great skill. His considered and thoughtful approach ensured that my wife and I managed to avoid the acrimony often associated with such separations. Thank you John. I would use Apple Tree Family Law again and would highly recommend their practice to others.

Following the conclusion of our Mediation process, we needed support in compiling and presenting the Consent Order to the courts. From the first phone call, through to the completion of the process, John was thorough, professional and supportive. He explained everything clearly, and completed the task as he said he would. Very happy with the service he provided.

I was recommended to talk to John Pratley my common acquaintances to discuss issues related to my child arrangement and I go through an international divorce with his mother. John responded very quickly and advised me in a very professional and comprehensive way. I do recommend his services strongly for whomever needs family law services.

Extremely helpful and frank information about child custody and the process of domestic law. As a nonresident of the UK with only basic knowledge of the subject I found John's advice highly useful. He responded back to my initial query immediately and charged no fee for our initial conversation.
