"So"
I visited Ardene in Kildonan Place, Winnipeg on June19, 2016. There is a “short” stand located at the front of the store. I couldn’t find my size. The sales associate replied that if I could locate the same sign somewhere else in the store, that I could have the same price “deal”. On the right wall of the store, there is a sign on the wall that states “shorts Buy 1, get 1 $10”. The sign is above shirts and the only shorts are on the left of the shirts. I found shorts that fit on these racks. I went to cashier area with (1) short from front of the store and (1) short from right wall. When I arrived at cashier, the “sign” price was not being honored. I questioned this and was told that the offer did not include the shorts on the right wall…. And that the shorts that I had picked must have been misplaced! I went to the right wall and brought the other (4) shorts that were exactly the same as the “misplaced” shorts and asked the cashier whether these were all “misplaced” as well. The cashier replied that “yes” they were all misplaced and that the offer was not valid. I asked to speak to the manager of the store; she replied that she was the manager. She then printed out a blank receipt from the cash register and wrote the customer service # in green ink. She said that I could phone the number as there was nothing else she could do. I told her that as the manager, she was able to override the cash register and honor the posted sign. She refused and asked me to leave the store. I asked her to call the customer service number while I was in the store with her but she replied that the customer service office is closed on week-ends and that I needed to leave now because other patrons wanted to pay for purchases. She insisted by threatening me with the following: ”If you don’t leave the store now, I will call security to have you escorted out of the store and banned from this location”. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. I looked at my aunt and asked her what I could do. My aunt walked to the manager and asked for her name, she refused to give it her. So I walked to the front of the store and asked the sales associate that had told me about finding the “same sign”, she replied that the managers name was Diana. I left the store in disbelief. I am not 15 yrs old and have not had this type of customer service from anyone, never mind a manager. Unbelievable experience. P.s I told the cashier that I was on a business trip and was not able to return on the Monday after talking to customer service but she did not seem to be pre-occupied by that and replied “oh well”. I called the Customer service office and they were very apologetic, the lady that took my call told me she was going to email me an email address where I could forward the pictures that I have. I waited one week--THAT email never came....
I regularly shop here and have been a customer at this location for years. Recently I was browsing their products when one of the employees came towards the back of the store to talk to another employee. She started by saying, “I HATED that woman,” and then proceeded to bash the customer whom she had been helping just moments before. I didn’t purchase anything and was not directly affected. I considered going up and asking her not to discuss in public, but I immediately pictured her telling her coworker, “omg can you believe that customer?” Decidedly not wanting to become the next “hated” customer, I chose not to buy anything and left. I am familiar with the manager of the store and I’m sure she would not have approved of this behaviour if she had been there. I understand that the service industry is tough, everything the employee said (if true) was absolutely grounds to be irritated by the customer, but her loud rambling and complaining about the customer in plain sight was disrespectful to the other shoppers and, frankly, unprofessional. I almost went back to Ardene the other day and then remembered that incident. I don’t like the idea that the staff will just bad mouth me when I leave the store so I no longer feel comfortable shopping, even if I know I’m not causing an issue. The employee was just so comfortable talking openly about her dislike, it bothered me. And I mean, again, I don’t know what occurred between the staff and the customer to cause her feelings. I just know what happened after the customer left and it was uncomfortable to witness.
Recently customers have to wait in line for a long time before a worker will come and check them out. You’ll be standing at the checkout and no one will come, they’ll see you but don’t care to come to cash you out. You either have to wave a worker down or just continue to wait till someone cares enough to go to the cash register. I get it workers need to keep the store clean and organize but you shouldn’t have paying customers wait 5 minutes to get their items paid for. This place has gone down hill .
Nicely priced clothes of all sorts of styles for different tastes. I have a more grungy, tom boy girl, so it's great they have not so feminine things. But there are plenty of very feminine styles. Some of the clothing seems a bit skimpy for kids. The place is jam packed, can be a bit hard to move around when people bring in shopping carts and strollers. Lots of sales all the time. Staff are alright. Never had a problem. The nail polish selection is good but the quality sucks.
So...occasionally ship here and when I find something, it usually lasts. I bought 2 pairs of boots because I really liked the style. I do not even wear these things outside and on both boots, the stitching came out. This 1.5 mths later and have worn each about 5 times, in doors. Terrible quality and quite disappointing.
This place is the worst store I have ever shopped at. No CUSTOMER service at all and they don't talk to you about their policies until you purchased your items and no return. Disappointed!!!
BEST STORE EVER!!!! This store has a lot of good deals and cool stuff! Ardene has reasonable prices! I recommend this store if your on a budget for girls stuff/clothing!
The prices are nice. I like buying my kids the accessories for little girls. Like headbands, tiaras, and necklaces. They are usually only a few dollars.
The wife sure likes disappearing into this shop and always comes out with lots of bag's. I get to rest for a few so makes me very happy!!
I've got a very good customer service today (Monday May 1st at 11:00 am) from male employee. I've got store credit without problems
