In search of a dentist closer to home, I dropped into the Art of Smile office on two occasions for information, and was offered an appointment "as early as tomorrow". I made an appointment by email, which was all agreed to and confirmed 5 weeks ahead. I was aware of a form to be completed before the appointment, and received another message about that long ahead ("so we can be sure you are covered") even though I had written while making the appointment that I would be paying directly for services. I completed the form online a week before my appointment, and started to get multiple emails and a voice message confirming my appointment, each with a tag line about a $75 charge for late cancellations. I showed up for my appointment on time; there was some whispering between the two staff at the desk; one left, came back, and told me that my appointment had been cancelled for lack of confirmation. Would I like to re-book? Surely, you must be kidding.

If you are like me and haven't been to a dentist since after the pandemic book your appointment here today! Dr. Hermina and her professional staff were welcoming, informative, and catered to all my needs. I booked two appointments back to back. A professional cleaning and a chipped tooth repair. My repaired tooth is perfect, colour matched, and feels great. The hygienist was very delicate and made me feel very comfortable for a much needed cleaning. I can't say enough about this professional establishment. Patient care first, convenient Younge St. location, hospital clean, with a warm comfortable atmosphere. The whole experience was positive and stress free after being years away from the dentist. I’m a new patient at the office and had indicated on the registration survey I was feeling anxious about my first appointment . Upon my arrival and after introductions, Luda asked me if I would let her know what I was anxious about. I shared with her why and she very kindly told me I could let her know by raising my hand if I needed to sit up or take a moment during the cleaning. My Mom raised me to use my manners so I said thank you each time and she said, “Of course” with a gentle warmth in her voice. Luda’s response to my concerns helped to make my visit a pleasant one and I left with not just a fresh mouth, but feeling cared for. I've had amazing service with Hermina and her staff. They are always very welcoming and are able to deal with my sensitivity of teeth. I've had a terrible experience many years ago at a dentist which pretty much kept me away from ANY dentist, but I spoke with Hermina and she was very patient with me and before you know it, I was back to going regularly. She is honest, and will only recommend what is needed, and leaves the patient with all options. I won't be going anywhere else. It's worth the 50 minute drive. .

Tried to book here a while back however the feisty Receptionist (forgot the name but it was starting with letter T for Tracy or Theresa)seemed undermining when I told her I have No coverage and how much would an Exam and cleaning would be, she seemed cold and aloof so I didn’t get a nice impression of her at all as she wasn’t humble or put me at ease….
