IMPORTANT - please read whole review *The only reason this place has 4 stars is because they get you to review ASAP after moving in and Mandy seems nice to start with* Before the tenancy began, there were a few things that could have been left better such as the freezer was full of ice. However, we looked past this as it was a decent deal and didn't make a deal about it. At the end of the tenancy, we made sure that the apartment was a much better state than we left it in and spent a day and a half cleaning it spotless. We were sure there was nothing that could be deducted from the deposit. After leaving, we were hit with a forged check out document. We confirmed it was forged when we called the number at the bottom and she told us she doesn't work with asset anymore. After this, we were calling constantly to dispute the document as it said it required 4 hours of cleaning for dust - mentioning there was dust on picture frames and all over the surfaces. There definitely was not! Not only this but we were not told when the check out was being done otherwise we would have attended to ensure fairness. Speaking with asset over the phone was an awful experience after this. The young guy Jake was no help and neither was Mandy. This has been done before to previous tenants (just look at the reviews) and they know this. Gareth (the manager?) was straight up lying over emails and even replied in one email all in caps lock as if shouting. It was only after 6 months through DPS we got it money back and that was because Asset refused to reply to any of the requests until the deadline day of each reply! Truly unfortunate experience and unless you want to be scammed then stay away. Terrible business and the whole team should feel ashamed for targeting vulnerable individuals. They say the onlooker is as bad as the bully and the whole team should maybe consider their actions throughout life
After leaving a five star review previously at the time of check-in, I am now forced to leave a negative rating owing to the terrible experience I had during the checkout. After my checkout, the agency sent me a report citing damages that were unreasonable and tried to withhold almost all of my deposit. Thankfully I had clearly documented the condition of the apartment with photos at the time of check-in and check out. Even though I had evidence suggesting that the damages were not done by me, the agency was not willing to accept the same and made more unreasonable demands. I had access to legal counsel at this time and they recommended that I approach DPS for a resolution. Finally, when I was adamant that I would approach DPS, the agency agreed for a compromise and we agreed on a deduction that was much lower than the ones they originally estimated. This entire experience and the one month I spent trying to get my money back left a bitter taste in my mouth. Would I recommend Asset Residential to a friend? Not anymore. For those who are planning to move-in I would recommend take a photographic evidence of every small thing, and do the same when you move out as well. And in case you feel you are being unreasonably charged on your deposit, reach out to DPS as they are very helpful and will give you the right guidance. Hope this helps. Cheers.
I was looking for a flat to rent and Mandy has been very helpful and responsive throughout the whole process. She would proactively follow up with any queries that I had, assured me with all the details I need to know about the tenancy. The flat was ready for moved in at an excellent standard as agreed, thanks to Mandy’s help. The agency itself is well connected with a number of maintenance contacts, as all my experience on any repairing issues were satisfying i.e. any out of order appliances were fixed in a timely manner. Mandy was also very supportive in tenancy renewal process, not only would she update me on communication with the landlord on renewal details, but also give me recommendations on alternative properties should the current flat becomes unavailable, which words cannot explain how grateful I am for all her help and care, especially in times when property supply was limited. Overall I’m very satisfied with the service Mandy and her team provided. 10/10 recommend !!
It was really a nightmare for me to find an apartment in Birmingham City Centre for me thanks to Mandy & the team of Asset Residential. She helped me to find out apartment which I was searching from last 2 months. Mandy was always cooperative during the entire process from contract signing to handover of the keys was pretty seamless. The apartment was also handed over after a thorough cleaning and paint work which I really appreciate. So far Mandy and team have been exceptionally good and it's a great feeling to interact with such professionals. I would definitely recommend this team especially Mandy to anyone looking for a place in Birmingham city centre.
Dealing with Asset was really easy. I got prompt responses to all my questions and concerns. They kept me in the loop throughout the process, and gave me clear guidance on the next steps. The application process is straightforward and quick to complete.
