Not bad in some areas but also not good in others. It becomes clear soon enough that Dr Nguy - despite the surface facade which costs him nothing - is motivated more by profit (plus retaining a 5-star rating on Google) than actual care. Therefore, will veer into areas with little experience and over-promise but underdeliver resulting in - with hindsight - sketchy decisions and uneven results. Because of this one begins to question if his suggestions/recommendations for further procedures are actually needed or only done for money-making purposes. Obviously, trust starts to break down from there. This is made worse when materials that are needed for a particular procedure, that Dr Nguy clearly does not normally do, are missing so you end up booking multiple appointments and he keeps making excuses for why the materials are still not available and blames the manufacturers or demand/supply issues for this. To add insult to injury, he tells you this while you're already there and not prior to the appointment. Why even offer, let alone suggest, to do a procedure in the first place if you are not in possession of tools/materials to perform said procedure? The primary problem is that because Dr Nguy is the only Dentist in the office there is an absence of proper checks and balances including accountability that would otherwise be there when colleagues/partners (by this I mean other Dentists) are present and have an equal stake in the running of the office, in terms of ethics and otherwise. It is a different story when you only have one Dentist, under whom the Hygienist and Staff are beholden to (both of which, by the way, happen to be fantastic in this case). It would be false to claim that Dr Nguy is not skilled in certain areas of Dentistry but please proceed with caution because there is definitely something off here in terms of trust/ethics (which is difficult to explain fully unless you've had multiple visits).

I knocked out my front two teeth and emergency dental services said they couldn't do anything and that I needed to see a periodontist, and those guys aren't cheap. I was calling every dental/periodontal in the area and was surprised to find that I could reach Dr David Nguy directly. I explained my situation and he offered to take a look and see if he could save me a visit to a perio. He was actually able to schedule me in for the very next day which was amazing because the teeth were pulled pretty far out so I was in a great deal of discomfort. At his office, I was greeted by Dr Nguy, a very professional and helpful individual. I was a little nervous because I have other teeth issues that I've been putting off getting looked at and I didn't want to deal with any pressure to get them done, but he assured me that he would only focus on what I wanted him to focus on, and he did. He was actually able to fix my teeth, they look good as new, and I was in and out of there in an hour and a half. I also asked him to remove a stitch from my lip, assuming there would be a fee but I couldn't take the feeling of the stitch any longer, and he did it for me for no charge. He also called me personally the next day to ask how I was doing and how the teeth were doing. The bedside manner and care is exceptional! If you've been putting off getting your teeth looked at and have anxiety about it, I definitely recommend Dr Nguy and his lovely team!

I have a problematic mouth with 6 implants in it. I had trouble with a tooth and had a long story to tell Dr. Nguy. He was patient, empathetic and I felt he really listened to me. I did not feel rushed like with other dentist. I was not sure if my tooth needed a root canal treatment. He could have done it but he was very honest with me and said the teeth do not need it just yet and a regular filling would do well: this dentist is honest, one of the qualities I look for the most when I use a professional The filling went pretty well, he even adjusted it to fill a little gap between my tooth and the implant next to it. I feel like he went the extra mile for me. I am coming from Quebec and he is now my dentist. TLDR: Stellar dentist, 10/10, would recommend. Edit: This is around 7 months after. Since then I had surgery on my implant in June 2023 and yesterday was the time to put back the teeth on the implant post surgery. Everything was so smooth, the pain is gone, my teeth is back on! You can trust this surgeon dentist for your needs whether it is for regular dental work or implants. I plan to get 1-2 more implants and will go with Dr Nguy.

I've been to Atlas Dental several times now, spread out over several years. Each time I leave totally satisfied with the service, which includes the staff's impressively detailed instructions on post-treatment care. Dr. Nguy himself is a true professional whose skills and compassion are immediately evident. I unfortunately do not remember the name of the lady who has been my hygienist since the outset, but she is remarkably deft and thorough. If not for my choice to attend Dr. Nguy's clinic, my teeth would be in much worse condition. I am confident that I will continue to come to them for further treatments. I would mention that I recently had a cavity treated by the doctor himself, so I've accessed more services from Atlas than just cleaning; but the cavity session went as smooth as always, with pristine results as always. Came to Atlas Dental when looking for a dentist to replace a crown for my mom that had broken off. She was very happy with how closely Dr. Nguy was able to match the color of the new crown to the existing ones and how it did not feel uncomfortable after the procedure was done. Dr. Nguy is very thorough with the new patient examination as well as the cleaning. TBH, nobody likes going to the dentist but I felt like Dr. Nguy really cared about the patients’ well being and explained step by step what he was planning on doing next, so that took some anxiety from me. His two receptionists Pru and Sarah are also very lovely and weren’t pushy to get me to do unnecessary treatments, unlike the lady at my previous dental office. Best dental experience I have heard, I had some severe pain and needed dental emergency. I called the clinic and they had availablity for me within an hour. Got there and was amazed at how efficient the staff are and very polite and friendly. The dentist saw and I explained my problem. He was very calm and explained to me what was required of me. I ended up removing a tooth no pain and I feel much better now. I also booked another examination as I need some cleaning. Would definitely recommend anyone to your clinic anytime. In addition to having other dental needs looked after like checkups, fillings, and cleanings, I have just gone through the process of needing a tooth extracted which I chose to replace with a dental implant. Dr Nguy is thee best dentist I’ve ever had in all my 36 years of life. I found him after a botched root canal experience at a different place and desperately needed help. He was able to get me in right away and quickly fix me up. I have extreme anxiety with dentists, but he is so calming and lets you know everything he’s about to do. Very chill vibe. He really puts you at ease. Even the freezing needles didn’t hurt. He is a wonderful human being, so down to earth. I wish everyone knew about him. The receptionists are so pleasant and the honestly the entire place is very chill. I would give 100/100 stars if I could.

This clinic is fantastic! Super efficient! Had my X-ray done and wisdom tooth removed within 30 min I believe. It was a last-minute appointment as my gum started bleeding the night before. I called Dr. David Nguy at around 10.30 pm and he quickly scheduled my surgery the next day. No pain at all, speady recovery, I'm writing this on the same day I had the surgery and I am feeling so good right now after the anesthetic wore off. Highly recommended. I was having pain from a broken and infected tooth. Spoke to Dr Nguy on a late Sunday evening and he scheduled me in immediately the following morning for the extraction. Procedure was done and he followed up with me personally after the procedure and was even kind enough to follow up with a check up consultation at the office again a couple days later to make sure everything was fine and checked up on me some more via phone. Visited this dentistry as a visiting tourist for an emergency implant removal and root canal treatment. The people working here are very kind and are very well spoken. I left my consultation well informed with clears steps towards dealing with my travel insurance. My dental surgery experience was very good as well, I felt no pain whatsoever and the procedure was done quickly with an expert level of care. The doctor gave clear and physical post-op directions for a perfect recovery and followed up via text message to keep himself updated on my situation.

I’ve been through many dentists and when my brother recommended Dr. Nguy I was very impressed. I definitely found the one i’m sticking with. I had my four wisdom teeth removed and I was going through every emotion. Dr. Nguy was very patient with me and he made sure I was ok throughout the procedure. I get regular cleanings and checkups at Atlas Dental. Also had a great in-office Zoom teeth whitening session with Dr. David Nguy recently: Saw a significant improvement in the colouring of my teeth immediately following the treatment that exceeded my expectations, experienced some (expected) pain that first day, no pain but sensitivity the second day, and teeth were back to normal sensitivity-wise by the third and fourth days after the treatment. I also really appreciate Dr. Nguy following up with me the day after the treatment.

Had a complicated wisdom tooth extracted here on short notice. Absolutely perfect service provided by Dr.David Nguy and staff. Appointment was quick and the entire process with oral sedation was painless. I am on anxiety medication and I highly recommend anyone who’s nervous or anxious visit this dentist as the way he worked on my tooth and spoke to me throughout the process was nothing short of stellar. I would give him the dental version of a Michelin star if I could.

If I may suggest, discuss with the patient and obtain informed consent before starting treatment. I did not consent to more than 30 minutes (hygienist knows I'm coming during work lunch break) and kept telling the hygienist it doesn't need to be perfect. But without discussing with me, took an hour and 15 minutes and billed accordingly, without caring if my insurance had a limit. I just wish the communication would be better and be more considerate of patient's wishes.

My experience at Atlas Dental was excellent. Dr. David is an excellent dentist. I got a teeth cleaning and he did an extremely thorough job. I had some teeth calculus problems, but they were dealt with thoroughly. I also received trays for teeth whitening, and everything went smoothly with that. Dr. David is hands down the best doctor I’ve ever come across. I was in a lot of pain when I contacted him and he called me back immediately and suggested to come early in the morning the next day. Not only did he perform an emergency root canal procedure, but his wonderful receptionist babysat my grumpy toddler for over an hour while I was in the chair. I have been a patient of Atlas Dental since Dr. Nguy acquired the practice from my previous dentist. I see the hygienist on a reqular basis and Dr. Nguy when required. I can easily recommend Atlas Dental for your routine and complex dental needs. I find Dr. Nguy up to date on modern denistry techniques. He is gentle enough that I rarely require a freezing. He works efficiently and routine procedures (like fillings) take very little time in the dentist chair.

Dr David is the best dentist that I’ve ever dealt with! So patient, knowledgeable, calm, supportive and Im so so so glad I did my root canal with him and even though Im generally so bad with pain tolerance I never ever felt any sort of pain not while doing nor after the procedure!!! He explained to me all the steps to make me feel relaxed which I found really helpful for controlling my anxiety and Im so grateful to have him as my dentist anymore! :)

I was in excruciating pain over the long weekend. I contacted the office Monday around midnight and got an appointment for Tuesday 9am. The fastest appointment i have ever got! Dr. David Nguy, extracted 2 of my wisdom teeth. I was fast and painful and he explained after care to me. Also checked up after. My personal experience at the clinic was really good! The secretariat of the clinic are kind and extremely nice. Dr David Nguy is super professional, working fast and with high sensitivity. He asks questions all the way to make sure I feel ok and describes me step by step the full procedure. A day after the treatment he made sure to ask personally how I was feeling. I went in to see Dr. Nguy a few months ago with severe tooth pain. He was very kind and went over my options with me. We decided to extract the tooth that was causing the pain. The procedure went well and the after care provided by Dr. Nguy was great! He followed up on any concerns that I had in the following weeks regarding my procedure. Dr Nguy has been my dentist for 2 years now and I have done multiple cleaning and dental procedures with him. He always spends time explaining the procedures thoroughly and clarifying any worries I might have. During the procedures, he tries his best to calm me down as many of those did sound quite intensive. Overall, he is very kind and thoughtful and I highly recommend him.

I do not recommend Dr.Nguy at all. The fillings fell out after two months. The fillings did not smooth. I had an appointment at 3pm, but he invited me to the room at 3.10pm and started to work with me in 5 minutes later. I needed to do filling at the bottom but he started to work with top teeth. He did not notice me and changed the treatment plan without discussion with me

Dr.David is absolutely the best dentist I’ve ever seen, he is a smart guy, he is caring, and he always try to make sure you are comfortable throughout the entire process. He also follow up and check how you are doing the next day, which is great. I appreciate his perseverance, he is an example of how the good dentist should be, I believe everyone should learn from him.

I came for the extraction of 6 teeth and I was afraid that I will have pain or is gonna hurt me, but surprise, I wasn’t had no pain, no swelling and no headaches at all and the whole procedure was less that an hour and the recovery was fast and no surprises. Definitely is a 5 stars Dr, one of the best doctors I know and I recommend 100 precent.

It's always important to find a dentist who is highly trained, professional, and has extensive experience. Dr. Nguy is the dentist who meets those criteria. It helps that he has so many positive reviews online. This practice offers general dentistry services, exams, etc. If you are wanting a dentist close to downtown Toronto, Dr. Nguy is the person you should go see.

Being my first time, i didn't know what to expect but everything went smoothly. The Staff were friendly from the moment i walked in. Dr Nguy was very professional, he took his time to explain my situation plus all the options i had. I also got frequent follow-up calls just to check up on my recovery and well being, so for me an Excellent experience overall.

Dr David is definitely the best dentist I’ve ever had. His professionalism and kindness is like no other. I had a broken tooth and he booked me in immediately the next day. After calling over 25 dental services, I called Dr. David in a state of panic. I needed to get a tooth extraction done immediately. Given that my health condition was vulnerable, he accomodated me the next day and got the extraction done in 30 minutes. He was extremely professional and empathetic about my situation. The best experience I've ever had with dentists. Dr. Nguy is professional, knowledgeable, and fast. I had my root canal done with him and I was so nervous in the begining. However, I didn't feel anything during the root canal. Also, staff were so helpful for claiming insurance and answered all my question patienly. Highly recommend Atlas Dental.

If you have an emergency dental problem, this is the place you should go, not 911 or any hospital. I booked my emergency appointment on Sunday night and get the wisdom tooth extracted in Monday morning. Dr. David with his skill helped me go through the whole process with minimum level of pain. Dr. Nguy and staff provide excellent dental service and care. Fantastic follow-up after to ensure all is well. I had a terrible pain in wisdom tooth and someone suggested me to go to this dentistry. I was so afraid of removing this tooth, but everything was excellent. Dr David Nguy is a professional. He made an X-ray and removed a tooth very quickly. He gave me recommendations how to take care of the socket and after he wrote me to ask how I feel.

Had 2 of my wisdom teeth removed yesterday.I had reallly bad gag reflex but Dr.David was amazingly patient with me. He tried to be as quick as possible. It’s 1 day after my extraction and there’s no swelling or much pain, just stiff jaws but David personally messaged me to tell me that was normal. Great dentist!
