These images are on the property of my place of business. This was not a daily occurrence until the last year, and never at all before the last five years. It is sad that this once beautiful, community minded area has come to this. We are vigilant to take measures because we are afraid for our employee's safety. We now lock the clearly marked staff entrances due vagrants entering. Just this morning I placed a note on a cart full of clothing and bedding asking them to remove their junk from private property. The cart was parked behind our shed where there are two no trespassing signs clearly visible. I walked carefully to avoid the human defecation on the ground near the cart. In the past I have called 311, been in contact with police, and they can't do much due to the high crime in Austin and less staff and funds, so I don't bother calling anymore. This is not the Austin it was 10 years ago. It is very sad.
Well I help advocate with harm reduction. Today on the agenda was a big list of props. We're interested in our homeless problem. With all the cash that is thrown away. We as tenants and future tenants need help with other things that go with getting placed. Like me, HUD SECTION 8-11 put me 1.5miles south of slaughter on Menchaca. We just got a little transit bus to pick us up at our apts, because it's for disabled and for elderly ppl. They're nice, but w)out transportation it's a hassle. I have no caseworker. I had no furniture, and I'm supposed to be on the 1st floor, but I'm on the 3rd and my high blood pressure goes up every time I climb them . I need help with my utilities because my husband passed away last year. This has hurt me badly. I have no one to take me to my pharmacy or medical appointments. This is what I want to talk about.

I work for a living.. Because of that I wear steel toed boots.. a belt with a metal buckle and suspenders with metal clips.. I'm wondering how long it will be before I have to strip down buck naked to get through the screening process. Such a beautiful building to harbor so much greed..kick backs...incompetence and just outright ignorance. They must keep the common sense locked up in a lead lined room..behind a locked door along with the ethics.
This is the spot where Austin started it's urban renewal. The building is just as fun on the inside as the outside. It is open to the public and there are rotating art diplays in the public areas at least part of the year. If you haven't been in to marvel at the architecture, well it's about time. You can also take a tour but it has to be arranged in advance. Definitely not your stuffy old county seat.
Wow! Calling all photographers! The Austin city hall is a stunning piece of architecture. The whole time we strolled around the exterior, we kept saying how beautiful it would be for a civil wedding ceremony. The stone details on the exterior is so rustic and classy. Beautiful greenery as well. Nice spot to read a book or just hang out and have a chat. Also a great spot for an impromptu photo shoot!
I like Austin Java for good coffee, bites and an extremely friendly staff. The prices are also good. I however prefer the location on 12th and lamar which has a much more laid-back and homey feel (not that this location isn't pretty low-key too). It's just that you must posses the key to get into the bathroom.
I visited here in a Saturday. It was closed. So, I was unable to check what's the city hall is all about. I was there for the first time, so the underground parking directions were a little confusing. However, the security guard who was there was really helpful and gave the correct directions.
Beautiful public building featuring the People's Art Gallery which rotates out works yearly. This is the seat of government for the City of Austin and where the City Council and Mayor meet. Their offices are also located on-site.
I've visited Austin City Hall on several occasions through the years. The staff has always been helpful and friendly. The inside of the building and the grounds have been clean when I've visited.
I am in love with Austin Java. Amazing food, amazing coffee, amazing drinks awesome deals...they serve breakfast all day long and they have great events. Movie nights and they show Dexter!
Everything I've ever had at Austin Java has been delicious. I love their outdoor patio here, we enjoy taking our pooch because they provide water bowls and great people watching!
There should be public parking in the garage for free on Sunday I don't understand why it cost so much to park in the city hall garage on Sundays it should be free.
First time being inside city hall and wow it's pretty nice. Got to vote early and the wait wasn't bad at all. Need to hit up the gift shop next time.
The architecture is great but I came for the art. 60% is locked in hallways which the public is not allowed. Waste of a trip it looked great online
Closed? WAS late at night, with a PediCab, so not sure if open, due to Political Democribs Agenda. But building was not pretty like the Capitol.
Loved this City been thinking of coming back to visit but if you liberal idoits change the name I will never come back to Austin Texas
It's close to work and allways provides prompt service. I love the Breakfast quesadillas, which are served all day long.
The art here is amazing and promotes local artists. It's truly an amazing little place and the structures are great.
Shut down the Veterans Day Parade, but allow football games, concerts, and other parades. 0/10 don't recommend.
Nice city other than all the homeless people and homeless camps being allowed to make the city ugly.
the mayors committee for people with disabilities really seem t9o end the homeless and eviction
I sent in a letter to your office about adding more airlines and I haven’t gotten a response
Pretty cool building and garden, contemporary and environment friendly, neat sculpture.
They're going towards Hell, but they've pimped the puck out of the clown car …
Probably the best placed and dressed city hall you'll see in the US at this point. Go!
best Java locations - get the breakfast tacos you make yourself or the french toast.
Nice space. City of Austin was nice enough to let us use it for a tech conference.
Very strange architecture. A shame what has happened architecturally to this town
Nice staff, clean restroom and cold water fountain! Art displays are interesting
Im there almost every weekend for coffee. Its a great place with a great staff.
Without a doubt this is my favorite building in Austin. Amazing architecture.
A great parking garage. Definitely my go-to parking spot when I'm downtown!
A fairly quiet place. City Hall is City Hall. Sometimes homeless go there.
Good place to grab a coffee downtown. Convenient location from city hall.
Elegant and simplistically modern building with minimal interior. Nice.
I love Austin. I work for Austin. I sell it for a living. 'Nuff said.
Great and delicious food, friendly and very good and fast service.
This city has been run into the ground. It's a zombie apocalypse.
Nice building but landscaping areas are always full of dog poop.
The COA has accessible communication available to residents.
Horrible city, Horrible people, careless city government.
Amazing location and great place to visit.
Love the breakfast tacos and chai latte's
Miguel is the best security dude 11/10
