"Staff member insanely rude "
"Owner was unbelievably combative, rude and unreasonable, and staff are poorly trained"
"Been here only a number times and each time it has been the the most unreasonably bueaucratic LPO staff I've encountered (which is the only bad thing I have to say about Aust Post in 30 years of business both through and with them, even appearing on a stamp)"
"They would not allow my 22 year old daughter to collect a parcel on my behalf because it was alcohol"
"the lady with the gold jewkery is a horrible employee, WHY IS SHE STILL WORKING HERE?? she yelled at me in front of the ENTIRE post office recently because my name was spelled differently on my package to my ID (a normal, human mistake), i was able to give her 3 valid forms of my ID with my name/address/DOB on it and she refused to take it"
Staff member insanely rude .. middle aged and wears a gold cross and gold jewellery.. unsure if her name so watch out for her .. yelled at me and says ‘I’m the boss ! I’m the boss’ because she gave me the wrong parcel and I told her that it was incorrect .. to make my life worse, she takes 15 mins to look for the parcel, then lies to me that the parcel isn’t under my name ..says it’s addressed to Kmart .. then looks for it again, only to bring it out .. it had my name on it! She held it back on purpose just to make me wait longer .. when I pointed this out to her , she told me to go off the back and disappear .. I feel bad for the mental health issues she must be facing and wish her the best .. I was late to work and ended up having a breakdown at the tram stop .. saw her berating the person before me as well .. hope management can see that auspost staff treat customers better (and vice versa of course) .. there’s a reason why your ratings are as low as they are ..
Owner was unbelievably combative, rude and unreasonable, and staff are poorly trained. Didn't do NZ passport photos correctly and would not refund my partner when the photos were rejected by the passport website. My partner provided a screenshot to prove that the photos were rejected by the site and the owner told him he could have faked it!!! For 20 bucks?? My partner had paid for other stuff that was fine, just wanted $ back for something that wasn't fit for purpose. Owner flat refused, argued about in front of a growing line of people and accused my partner of lying. He did get refund in the end but had to come back a second time and hold fast in the face of the same treatment. Really unbelievable, outrageously rude. This LPO is close to our house but we will be making the effort to go somewhere else further away from now on - would go to another company if that were possible!
Been here only a number times and each time it has been the the most unreasonably bueaucratic LPO staff I've encountered (which is the only bad thing I have to say about Aust Post in 30 years of business both through and with them, even appearing on a stamp). Trying to retrieve a clearly addressed parcel akin to a criminal interrogation and getting a passport renewed here made me feel like a failed con-artist: ended up going to another LPO, where they just did it. Never been treated with so much undue suspicion in my life. An anti-abuse poster on the rear wall is justifiably prominent. I recommend the excellent staff at Grantham Street or Melville Road, it may save you a great deal of time and frustration. Does anyone at Aust Post read these reviews? I'm surprised the service in the LPO has been so troubled for so long.
They would not allow my 22 year old daughter to collect a parcel on my behalf because it was alcohol. I’d signed the card to say she was collecting it with my authority and she had photo ID (her drivers licence) to prove her age. They said she needed to be 25 to collect alcohol! It’s crazy, she can walk into any pub, bar, bottle shop and buy alcohol (they’ll probably want to see her ID, fair enough). She can even order alcohol online - are they not going to allow her to collect her own parcel? When I went back myself to collect the parcel I questioned why she was refused and they said that the Australia Post rules are that people under 25 cannot collect alcohol. I don’t believe that...
the lady with the gold jewkery is a horrible employee, WHY IS SHE STILL WORKING HERE?? she yelled at me in front of the ENTIRE post office recently because my name was spelled differently on my package to my ID (a normal, human mistake), i was able to give her 3 valid forms of my ID with my name/address/DOB on it and she refused to take it. she also bent my parcel (which had a massive DO NOT BEND sticker on it) one star only for the other lady (she seemed nice) working as she was happy with my ID’s and said i could have my package. she needs better peers to work with next time i’ll make sure to get my parcels delivered to woolies so i don’t have to deal with ANYONE :-)
As you can probably guess - there is something seriously wrong with this post shop! How can one post shop provoke the ire of so many? I can tell you how, the manager - this man is quite possibly the most incompetent and petulant manager I have ever come across. Don't bother going the this post shop for passport photos like I did - they provided unusable ones and would not take replacement ones and would only refund me after a ridiculous in store charade - the manager even insinuated that I went to the trouble of photo shopping a webpage in order to prove the passport photos were invalid...absolute nutcase.
Great friendly staff who really know their stuff. I usually come for parcel pick ups and other basic stuff but I was there recently to complete a passport renewal and was in and out within 8 minutes. A lot of customers don't appreciate the kind of regulations the posties have to comply with and get their knickers in a twist when they can't convince the staff to bend the rules for them. I wish those people would be a bit more understanding and weren't so quick to leave a nasty review just because a postal worker has had to tell them "no" for something or other.
Worst LPO staff ever. Every time my parcel is redirected here, istead of the two other amazing LPO's in the area, I cringe, for I know that the best I can expect from this hellish staff is a sour face and cold attitude - the worst... well... just try not to come here within a few minutes of the end of their shift. They won't ever open the door to you, even though you have minutes on the clock! They are just dying to leave work, obviously hating every minute of it, and they go out of their way to let you know full well that they do so.
Ahh the Sydney road post shop strikes again. I had a parcel sent to the lockers here, which is a great service that worked well. I will however, bestow none of that credit on this post shop. The lockers are located in a alley behind the store, not on Sydney road, which is where I was directed. The absolute minimum this store could have done would have been to put up a paper sign in the window alerting customers to this, but of course, they didn't. But this is the amount of effort I have come to expect of this post shop, for shame.
I Went there to get passport photos they said they are closed for lunch and to come back in an hour or so. I didn't have a car so I had to sit outside or nearby and wait. When I realised post offices aren't allowed to close for lunch and asked why i was asked to wait that long the next time I went there- they denied that ever happened as if I made it up. Having worked in customer service for 7 years when I was younger I appreciate good customer service and this was definitely the opposite.
Tried to go in and renewal my passport my surname was changed due to getting married after bringing all the legal documents that I needed to complete my application she said they were incorrect as my maiden name was on my marraiage certificate the lady was rude and not helpful whatsoever extremely disappointed at how I was spoken to from the get go when the service everyone else was getting was so polite Thank god I don’t live locally and won’t have to attend again
Second time I experienced an obtusely officious work-avoider at this branch. The first time was a refusal to process an ATO form during the COVID lockdowns, today it was the refusal to process a conveyancing ID form, that can ONLY be done at an Australia Post outlet. Luckily, the Lygon St agency isn’t too far away. the very pleasant and helpful crew at Lygon St processed the form diligently and rapidly. DO NOT GO TO THE SYDNEY RD branch.
Literally the worst post office I have ever had to deal with. I have actually never had a positive experience with these guys. I have been turned away to pick up deliveries that they have misplaced and when even thought I lived at the same address, had the card and ID they would not give me parcel. If there is a way you can avoid using them, do that and save yourself the hassle of working with these difficult people.
The service is absolutely terrible! Why are you so angry! I went in thinking my parcel was there, which according to the card left was supposed to be but was at Brunswick West post office. Totally different there, maybe some lessons can be learnt about simple things like saying Hello and talking in a nice tone. They even apologised when i told them how rude and terrible your service was. Never going back!
Apparently it's my fault a parcel being removed from the locker several hours before the stated cutoff, because I "left it to the last minute". I planned my day based on the time stated. Horribly rude staff on a pretty consistent basis. I don't understand how AusPost are happy for them to continue. It's baffling. Surely there has to be a control mechanism. Whatever it (or he/she/they) is, it's failing.
Just reviewing because I've never had a bad experience and people like me probably never bother to write reviews for post offices. They have generally helpful staff who will do things like tell you how much it costs to post things and then help to post those things. I'm happy they offer these service because there is no alternative nationalised mail carrier so I guess I'm stuck with them. Four stars
Employee gave incorrect information and confirmed it with co-worker. 'Parcel too large', they said. I went to another post office, and asked if it was too big. They measured it and said it was fine. The parcel arrived at destination with no problems. I think they were busy and couldn't be bothered with my request to send a heavy parcel. Advice: use any other LPO on Sydney Road or Lygon Street.
The people at this post office were professional, friendly and great! The lady who served us was just fabulous. Processed our passports with minimal fuss and great service. What a contrast to the very rude service we received at the Moreland West post office. If you want the job done and great service go to the PO on Sydney Road Brunswick. They provided a five star professional and service.
The manager of this lousy establishment is a sloppy mouth breathing sad excuse for a human being. Why do you continue to show up day in and day out only to dash people's hopes and dreams of obtaining what should be, in a normal run of the mill Australian post shop, a simple useable passport photo. You need to take a long hard look at yourself sir. Ruminate on this you sluggard
If there is an issue with Australia Post (like parcel lockers), there is a staff member there that will claim this store is separate to Australia Post and is only concerned within their four walls. Very poor attitude, and I am basing this on a few interactions over the past year. Other staff there are much more helpful, but one individual is letting down the team.
I cannot remember the last time I felt compelled to leave a review, but the extraordinary service that we just received to get my 5 year olds passport photo deserves it. The lovely staff did everything that they could to manage a whopper of a 5 year old tantrum and persevered with patience until we had a suitable photo. I cannot thank them enough.
Nivin, the manager of this Aus post is a vile human being. Never in my life have I seen someone speak to people with such disrespect and unprovoked aggression. Don't go in to get a photo or process forms because she will scream at you to get out. Her behaviour is the most disgusting, disrespectful and rude I have ever seen in any service industry.
I’m actually shocked by all the bad reviews because my experience has been the total opposite! Always great service, they even know me and my partner by name and are always genuinely so friendly to us. I get it - the store is not perfect, but I’ve watched these staff members cop abuse and rudeness from customers over the stupidest little things!
Australia Post needs to stop selling off all its franchises to wealthy migrants. The way they function now is becoming comparable to many low functioning countries I have lived internationally. It makes no sense to have high regulation as we have in Australia coupled with such poor functioning mindless workings, it is the worst of both worlds.
Terrible experience. Couldn't or wouldn't take passport photos of our baby despite the sign saying this service was available. Had to go elsewhere for the photo, then when we made the passport applications, the staff member here muddled the 2 passport applications we made together and created a huge mess we had to sort before our holiday.
Usually don't go out of my way to write positive reviews but I do a lot of posting of parcels, etc & I'm always impressed by their customer service. These guys are outstanding with giving me the best economic ways to post parcels, some couldn't care less if you're paying more than necessary. Cannot fault the customer service at all.
Did not accept Passport Photos taken at another Australia Post using the same equipment. The boss did not even look at the photo before telling his staff to reject it, insisting I pay him another $19.95 to have it taken again. Recommend you take your passport applications to Parkville LPO, 55 Royal Parade, PARKVILLE VIC 3052
This has got to be the absolute worst Post Office in the whole of Australia - Nivine is the worst person to deal with and she will make you feel like pulling your own hair out. I could write about my many awful experiences with this woman but i would not have enough room in this comment. Avoid this place at all costs.
I was bitterly disappointed visiting this AusPost, as the reviews had led me to believe I'd be entering a Faulty Towers-esque adventure park, with snarky staff, grumbling customers and endless waits. Alas, the service was quick and efficient, and no bad vibes to be found. Hope the next place is worse!
If I could give a no stars I would Don’t ever come here to get your passport done Have come back 4 times with no passport Wasted money on photos because the guy there is so (can’t say the word) Absolutely ridiculous and all I want to do is change my name Hopeless Definitely go somewhere else
Horrendous service, my first time going and I won't be back. I was greeted with an attitude and felt very unwelcomed. On top of that, their lack of newspapers is beyond a joke. A large portion of Brunswick people are italian and the fact they do not have that newspaper is despicable.
Please learn how to use computer. Please have passion for your job, you are doing wonderful things for society, without your love we don’t get our parcels. Please caring for one and another, without it our parcel gets send back to sender without notifying the receiver at all.
I have no idea why all the bad reviews. My best guess is people are confusing it with the other Sydney Road post office. I attend this LPO daily and have had nothing but great service and helpful staff. I choose this LPO over any other in the area, keep up the smiles guys.
Take note the Brunswick advertised hours on the AusPost website never seem to match 100%. They close an hour earlier than specified and are closed on most public holidays... Why the owners can't update their stores hours correctly in 2016 I'll never know. Why you no ?
Every time I go to Brunswick Post Office, I have a positive experience. I’ve been to sort out my WWC check, post packages and organise my passport and every time the staff have been so helpful and efficient. A++ great post office, would post again …
I’ve been going here for years and they are the most pleasant and helpful staff- all of them. I find the negative reviews unbelievable as the service they have always provided me contradicts those reviews. Keep up the good work guys; you are appreciated.
Worst ever service!!! My God I don't normally come here and now I know why. Call Australia post customer service and was on the phone for 35 mins and never got a call back. Lots of other better post offices in the area who actually want to help.
Horrendous customer service. Told me my passport wasn’t a legal document/ ID as she couldn’t differentiate my first name from my surname. She told me she’d report me to the authorities as I needed an Australian passport (I’m not Australian).
I’ve always had fantastic service in here! Lovely staff who are helpful and clear in the information they provide. They gave me plenty of notice about shipping goods home in time for Christmas cut off which was greatly appreciated!
Why on earth are the 24/7 parcel lockers behind a LOCKED DOOR!!?? I can’t access my parcel because of this!! I can’t come back during working hours too, which is the whole reason why I sent my parcel to the parcel lockers here!!
Trading hours compared to other post offices make it really difficult to collect mail during the week. Also they do not notify when receiving you parcel. I redirected my parcel here. I had no idea they had so many bad reviews.
Staff very friendly to me and always helpful and knowledgeable. Some issues here are caused by Australia Post or people who expect a magic wand...I often see the staff getting yelled at and blamed for everything possible!
Omg, the middle aged lady who she call herself Manger of store, very rude and have bad attitude, her language barrier and anger she has, looks like she hate her job and life. Not nice she behaves like this. Unacceptable
Extremely unfriendly rude and unprofessional lady who started barking on us when my 3 year old boy was checking some books and the people in the queue witnessed that. She wanted to us to buy whatever he tocuhed insane.
This is the worst post office in Brunswick area, those ladies can't even speak fluent English and they are so rude I will not coming back nor recommending this post office to anyone stay away from the witches. …
Not the worst post office, but there is definitely a far more limited selection of postage products available. Staff aren’t the most helpful so make sure you know exactly what you need to do if you come past here.
Worst post office ever... Staff are horrific. Go somewhere else if you can - should only be a very very last resort, like the world is on fire and only that post office can stop it. Even then, I'd be hesitant.
The manager and the staff here are horrible to deal with I would strongly suggest you avoid this post office. The staff are not aligned with supposed policy and take there lack of competence out on customers.
Don’t go here for passports. They argued about everything. Ended up paying $33 for a photo to be done in the shop. It was identical in size and quality to the one I had brought in that was ‘unacceptable’.
The guy who work there tried to charge me more than twice the price for sending a parcel locally. Could not offer any advice or help Absolute scam bag I had to go to another post office. Be aware!!
I have been avoiding this place ever since a staff member was extremely rude to me. It’s not my fault if you hate your job/life! I hope he feels better soon but omg- his behaviour was uncalled for!
Such bad reviews of this place but I went there and had a good experience and staff were helpful. Haven't posted a package in over 5 years and the lady that helped made it so easy for me.
I'm adding to the one star club. Worst post office. Make you feel terrible. They're unbelievably rude, every time. The local posties are good around here, but the office is awful.
Bowled away by the rude, unsympathetic treatment I've received here, now on more than one occasion. Next time I'll save myself the grief and head up to the Brunswick North store.
This is the worst Australia Post I’ve ever been to. The cashier guy or attendant was rude and very unprofessional. I don’t know why he works in customer service to be honest
Made me waste my time when applying for a passport when I had all the necessary documents. Had to call the passport office to convince them that my documents were correct.
It doesn’t even deserve one star. Absolute worst customer service I have ever received. The owners are literally the worst and most horrible people I’ve ever encountered.
Amazing service, you don’t get to choose your closest post shop so I definitely got lucky with this one! Have gone above and beyond for me in the last 2 years. Thanks!
went there to renew my passport and they did everything in a very friendly and efficient way. I have been using this post office since 2009 and never had any issue.
Not sure why such negative reviews for this post office. This is my local post office for the past two years, have always had friendly service, never any issues!
Would give 0 stars if possible.Worst experience ever Never ever coming here again. Very bad service, Staffs dont even answer your questions properly.
Arrived today to pick up 4 packages sent & the new owners/team members were so incredibly polite, cheerful & respectful. AMAZING service !! ✊ …
Woeful service and rude and unhelpful staff. Much better alternatives are Brunswick South LPO on Grantham St and Brunswick West LPO on Melville Rd.
Poor service, will not recommend to have your passport done there, we deserve better service. This post office needs to renew their management.
Amazing post office. Best experience of my life. It smells real nice. Sometimes my mail even gets delivered twice. I saw a dog. Woof woof.
Horrible owner...watched them scream at an old lady to get to the back of the line ...worst display of customer service I’ve ever seen
Thanks to the manager Nivine she was so lovely and help me package up my big 29 inch MTB wheel. Very helpful …
the staff are rude and unhelpful and make you feel like a criminal when picking up a parcel on behalf of someone.
Avoid! Waste of time, rude, stickler for they're own rules, went to the another post office and had no issues.
Alfred was incredibly helpful getting passport photos for our infant - very tricky! Thanks Alfred.
I'm on Cooraminta Street, my posties name is Rob and he's bloody awesome! Keep up the good work x
Don't try to do anything out of the ordinary at lunch time, they will just tell you to go away.
What a disgrace to the APO. Rude unfriendly staff who do not want to get off their chair.
The girl who works there is very rude. Not sure why she does this job if he hates it..
I found the employees were perfectly helpful. They helped me get the right packaging.
Shop seems to close before their advertised hours. Customer service also shocking!
Never ever ever make a mistake to deal with the ladies, worst attitude ever seen.
Staff couldn't give two twits about their job, or your package for that matter
Great staff... great service. Couldn't ask for anything better.
I've always found the staff at this post office to be helpful.
Awful rude people. No concept of politeness breeds politeness.
Good for big delivery from back, big order, big parcel .....
Would not explain what ID needed for working with children
The guy at the counter was super friendly and efficient
Great post office, doesn’t deserve the poor reviews.
Found the guy at the desk really polite and helpful.
Got the job done. After a month and 3 goes. Drongo.
I’ve always found the staff friendly and helpful.
No point even going there, absolutely useless
The staff are just mean and miserable.
Very friendly professional service
Very friendly and helpful staff
Rude and condescending service
