No complaints about the post office: the DELIVERY posties, however, are the worst! Only been in this house -- in "Rennassaice rise", near the "lakes" -- for just over a year, and have had TWO packages mis-delivered. The first package was LEFT IN THE ROAD, about 8 months ago (luckily, a neighbor saw as he was driving home, and gave it to us). Today, the motorped "postie" left MY package -- with proper name and address -- at the house next to me. Once again, the neighbor delivered the package to us. Saw an earlier post wherein someone pointed out that now that a new package or van driver is working our area, things are slower and less efficient. Couldn't agree more: add to that the "bike posties" don't pay attention to their work more than half the time (a few times I've seen them have to come back to my house to redeliver -- at least they didn't throw it in the road or on the wrong doorstep). The DELIVERY driver and Mo-ped posties covering the Mernda route need to be fired or retrained! (And even if Mernda Post Office ISN'T the one who hires and fires them, they ARE the ones entrusting these yobbos to deliver the mail to the people -- which means Mernda Post office SHOULD take the complaint (or complaints) seriously and at least pass them on to whatever knucklehead -- in Whittlesea or wherever -- IS responsible). NOTE AFTER MERNDA P.O. Reply: Okay, I believe you folks; which is why I changed the review from 2 star to 1 :). And I DO believe that as since the Mernda Post Office is a part of the delivery system as a whole, you folks SHOULD also contact the distribution center, or whoever, and let them know about the complaint (on behalf of this customer -- and others, when it happens). Otherwise, you are of no more use than the local, 15 million dollar, police department which rarely -- if ever -- patrols local neighbourhoods, even after they've been burglarised, and which sends its employees home at 5 or 6 pm each day, when crime is more likely to happen. In the meantime, I've taken your advice and issued an online complaint. And I'll try to use the phone number supplied, although -- from past experience -- I'm not very confident about doing so, since it is set up with an automated voice system that -- 99 percent of the time -- puts the caller on hold and makes them wait 5 or more minutes, without ever connecting to an actual person (and even then, the person answering -- again, from past experience in over a decade) will often argue that Australia Post isn't to blame, or that things like the Sunshine West Distribution System is still, after 15 years, not working and there's nothing to be done about it).

This post office has become a MUCH better place since the new owners took over. However: since they (the folks in Whittlesea, or the Mernda owners) replaced Robert, the former Aus Post van delivery driver, packages have been arriving VERY slowly. The VAN DELIVERY driver currently servicing our area is AWFUL. I have seen him filling up the parcel "hold" box (or whatever) at the corner of Homebush Avenue and Farmington Road -- the one used to transfer some of the mail, so it can be picked up by the motor scooter posties -- until that box was literally _overstuffed_ , to the top, with bags and packages. No way the posties on the little scooters can deliver those packages (and other mail items) the same day. Too bad the guy in the van is too lazy to do as great a job as Robert used to do (delivering most of the packages, instead of stuffing all of them in the package drop-off box). ADDENDUM NOTE: Mernda Aus Post team: Thanks for the reply! Regarding Robert: you're wrong: we got to know him well. He was surprised to learn that he was being "relocated" elsewhere (probably to a district thought of -- wrongheadedly, by Aussies who don't know better -- as "upscale" (in actuality, the whole _country_ is middle class). As for your NOT controlling the drivers: I figured that might be the case, so I mentioned it might have been the "main" Post in Whittlesea. Either way, though, I imagine that Whittlesea _might_ listen to you -- since you serve the customers in the Mernda area (whenever packages are delivered, we're told to come see you if we miss one because we're not at home -- which would make you part of the delivery service. Right?) Perhaps _you_ folks can mention this review to the people in Whittlsea, or whatever office is behind the choice of drivers. Because the guy currently doing the job for this area is doing a half-hearted, frankly, lazy, job of it -- just reference that package drop box, or whatever it is called at the intersection of Homebush and Farmington and they'll figure it out which driver it is.

This store and in particular a lady (I guess she’s the owner of the shop) is the rudest person I have ever seen. This is now few times I’ve got this treatment from her. I went there to get my wife’s and my child’s passport done and she rudely asked me if I have an appointment? I didn’t know that we required an appointment for passport applications. Anyways she asked me to wait a side and she started serving other customer (which I don’t mind and patiently waiting for my turn) but then she started handling customer who came to transfer money through western union (for that she spent 20 minutes to transfer the money) but for my application I have to wait. The horrible thing is this that there is no eye contact, there is no smile and no good gesture from her. She can clearly see that I’m there with my pregnant wife and a child, but she thinks that’s it’s OK for me to wait and do the money transfer first along with dealing with other regular customer. Then I called yarrambat post office to check, if we required an appointment for the passport and the person I spoke to was BHAVIK and he said we DON’T NEED ANY SUCH APPOINTMENT!! Very interesting! This shows how bad this store is in customer service! AUSTRALIA POST should do some kind of customer service skill test before authorising such franchises to such people!!

We visited to Mernda Australian Post and found the staff was really helpful, friendly and guided us with our application and queries. Though We started our application with Doreen Australian Post first and their staff wasn’t impressive. They didn’t even talk to us nicely and blaming us for the delay when their computer was not functioning properly. Then they clicked our pictures and their printer stopped working so again they blamed us for it. The results were our application didn’t get approved because of low quality pictures they took with no ink in their printer. After such disappointments, we came to Mernda Post office and they helped us in clicking great quality pictures, help us with our application and it approved straight next day. We strongly recommend everyone to please come here and save your valuable time and money . They are extremely good people and genuine in their work.

Appalling Customer Service I sent an Express Post parcel to a friend in Warrandyte, the prepaid Express Post pack was handed over the counter to the staff personally at Mernda Post Office. After a week the parcel had not arrived, upon tracking I found it had gone to Rockhampton QLD Eventually it was returned to me over 10 days later as somehow the package got ripped somewhere in Auspost's care and they couldn't see the delivery address (remember it was handed in personally in perfect condition across the counter). Upon seeking rectification from Mernda Post Office I was told to "ring a number and hopefully they'd sort it out and issue a replacement...... shocking.

Was buying some more shady devices online and when I arrived the staff made me clearly identify myself 3 times in front of a packed post office. Then the lady managed to drop all my sacred items on the floor for the world to see. Package was already opened on arrival, one item was missing, not very happy to live an actual nightmare scenario just visiting the post this morning. Staff were also disorganized swapping customers and making them restart what they were doing several times. I don't know what to say. What the hell.

I have heard there are lots of people that have had bad things to say about this post office but most of the problems are caused by Australia post delivery drivers. This has nothing to do with this shop. Lisa and the crew are doing a fabulous job here taking care of everyone. Also they don't make up the prices, Australia Post head office do. If you have something to complain about that has to do with delivery driver not knocking on the door loud enough or the prices of a service is too expensive, complain to head office.

Every time I get a parcel it is tossed at my front door and the driver does not ring the doorbell. My parcel is usually left out in the rain and ends up damaged. Please instruct your postmen to ring the doorbell when they drop a parcel off. This is getting rediculous. Click the button and walk away! It's not that hard!

Accidentally broke a small $20.00 , thing for sale in mernda post office and when I offered to pay, they took the $20.00, but I have since been informed that they probably have shop insurance, which would cover the break, so I gave them $20.00 for nothing, very dishonest and unacceptable.

Not impressed with this post office at all. They seem to love finding all kinds of pedantic reasons to charge extra for the postal service. Go Australia Post! You're doing a great job at making Australia UNCOMPETITIVE with price gouging!

I have updated my rating and review since the owner of this business has now changed. Service is much better, as it should be. Unfortunately the queues can still be a little long. It would seem that Mernda has outgrown its little LPO.

Worst post office in Mernda. Staff is rude and not professional at all, they barely know how to do their jobs. I will not come back. Seriously, don't use this post office. Its much better to visit plenty valley post office.

The worst customer service I have ever received. I am so disgusted and pissed off and the way I was treated when I had everything necessary and was refused to be given the service I needed. Absolutely outraged!!!!!!
