Firstly, the front desk guy I talk to is always great and SUPER helpful. Whether over the phone or in person. I've been dealing with coolant issues of my 2002 Honda Civic for 2 years at this point and have brought it into AutoTek 5 times. Every time, some new issue is found, and the prices they charge are absurd. They are requesting $500 to fix the radiator fan motor, passenger side fan, and an extra $400 for labor. To this date I've given AutoTek about $1000 and my car never stays consistently fixed. And now they want another $900. Every time they find some small issue, like spark plugs needing replacing, I am comfortable doing those jobs myself. So, I have always followed their advice and fixed what needs fixing. I believe their pricing for doing small fixes like replacing spark plugs is absolutely absurd. If you are not inclined to Google how much these things usually cost, you will be be burning cash. I don't believe they do a diligent job checking what is wrong. When I pay $500 in May to diagnose & fix a coolant leak, and then less than 500 miles later the issue is still occurring, it's a big waste of time for me to have to bring it in again. And when I did bring it in, they did the checkup super fast and found another issue (radiator fan not working). How did they not find that in May? It's VERY unlikely that in the less than 500 miles between May and today that the radiator fan stopped working, as the issue I am having is the same (overheating engine, leaking coolant). So, why not spend a little more time checking it and find the issue? Especially because, after Googling, I find that checking if the radiator fans working is one of the first things to do when a car overheats. I would recommended going someplace else that is more diligent with their work. I can say that the work is done quickly and promptly, but I find myself cringing every time I look at the report. You'd think with a return customer they'd be willing to form a good relationship, but it always feels like I'm getting scammed. Also, my friend brought their car in to get the transmission checked, and was charged $150 just for them to drive it around and diagnose the issue. That is ABSURD. No work was done, literally all they did was drive the car.

10/10 best shop in Austin. I recently was a victim of massive rodent damage to my car - essentially they ate through the wiring on my transmission harness (apparently this is a common thing - who knew?) and the whole part had to be replaced. Matt at Autotek was so upfront, he explained everything in detail and gave me a very reasonable quote. Also I feel like it's important to note - I've been here twice now and I have never once been talked down to or "man-splained" to by anyone at this shop. Well low and behold, not only did they complete the job 3 days earlier than their estimated timeframe, but they also were able to complete it for A THOUSAND dollars LESS than the initial quote. I mean, their practice of setting real and reasonable expectations while simultaneously over estimating to avoid surprise charges is amazing. I've lived in this town for 10 years, jumped from shop to shop in search of someone I actually trust and let me tell you, I will only be using Autotek from now on. Thanks again Matt - you rule!

I’ve been using Autotek for almost four years now and I have never been more pleased with any mechanic. They are honest and knowledgeable and genuinely care about their customers. I brought in my old van and they found a serious issue that would have required an engine rebuild to fix, and even that wasn’t a sure fix. But instead of pushing for the expensive repair, the advice was to just trade the vehicle in somewhere because they felt it wouldn’t be ethical for me to pay them a huge repair cost when they couldn’t guarantee the vehicle still wouldn’t have problems. I highly respect this type of honesty. I was able to (and probably would have) paid for the repair if they hadn’t said that. Needless to say, the new car I ended up getting is going to be entrusted to them for its maintenance for as long as I have it. Only problem I ever have is that because they are so good, they are booked out usually a month, so just make sure you plan in advance. Trust me, they are worth the wait. :)

Auto Tek has been a long time reliable source when taking care of my vehicles. My car is my most important asset to me personally and now for the last 3 years for my business . After trying different places and eventually being let down and because I didn’t want to drive up north to the Cadillac dealership, I luckily found Auto Tek back in 2012, they have now serviced my last 3 cars, 2010 CTS, 2014 CTS, 2019 XT5. They communicate with me during the whole process, they are meticulous when inspecting the vehicle and detailed when recommending the best course of action. It's imperative to keep my car on the road for my business and I trust them with the preventative maintenance. They work with the warranty company to make sure any of the services are covered to reduce any out of pocket costs. It's always a pleasure when working with Auto Tek and their staff.

This is the best mechanic shop I have ever dealt with! I brought my car in for an issue with the AC on a Wednesday. Before the end of the day I had a full detailed report of what they found and a full inspection of my vehicle with photos. They pointed out another issue I was sort of aware of but didn’t know the severity. After I received the report, they called me to go over it and explained everything I had questions about. Even with having to order a part, they were able to do all the repairs and have it ready for me on Friday at 3pm. I was amazed at how fast the turnaround was! I was half expecting to hear nothing until Monday morning saying it would be a couple of more days, but was pleasantly surprised. I have already recommended Auto Tek to several friends and will continue to sing their praises!

Unfortunately had a lot of experience with autoshops, and this is hands down THE BEST ONE I've had to use in Texas. As a younger, smaller woman with some car experience and a cheaper car, I've never felt like I was taken advantage of or talked down to unlike in every other shop and oil change in Austin. Been coming here for the past few years and the service and communication has always been stellar. We actually live fairly far away by Austin standards, and I'd always rather bring my car here and pay slightly more and have an absolute peace of mind that a) a particular repair is necessary b) will be done to a high standard. This is a new post, my last one was four months ago. I took my 2018 Rav4 in for routine maintenance on 12/20/23. Auto Tek has also done a great job on my 2016 Nissan Altima. Auto Tek is the best car repair facility I have ever used. I needed repairs on my Toyota Rav 4 Hybrid. I had terrible experiences with several local Toyota and Nissan dealerships and I'll never go back to either. Communication during the repair process was amazing, including several emails that explained each part needing repair with pictures of the actual parts from my my car. They were honest and told me a part I thought needed replacement actually did not. I highly recommend Auto Tek to everyone looking for a quality repair shop that will exceed your expectations!

This place is the best! The people are very friendly and professional. Their communication is out of this world. They always answer their phone, they are knowledgeable and up-to-date on your vehicle, and they patiently answer all of your questions. The work they are suggested came after a thorough and documented diagnostic evaluation. The recommendations came with photographs, details, and specific written cost estimates. They scheduled me in as soon as possible, then got the work completed. Their work is reasonably priced, and comes with a written warranty. They even contacted me the day after I retrieved my vehicle, to make sure everything was going well. This is definitely my new service resource.

My rust-bucket has had to have many repairs...I had it at one shop and they couldnt fix it....I took it to Auto Tek and they had no problem. I read the reviews...here's the deal. You gotta make an appointment. Why? Cause they are organized and dont make promises they cant keep. The staff here is so friendly and welcoming - I brought my Chevy Volt in with a laundry list of codes and was able to have it diagnosed and fixed same day. First I took my car to the Chevy dealership. Was a 4 week wait, they didn't know what they were talking about, charged me a ton, and the problem didn't get fixed. Best service ever! Everyone I met with at AutoTek was super pleasant and easy to work with (shout out to Matt, David and Aaron). I needed a lot of maintenance, but they were very up-front with which services I could wait on to lower the cost to me (did not push me to order services that weren't absolutely necessary like most other shops do). No joke, this is the best mechanic experience ever. Better than the dealership. Better than the dudes on the corner by your house. (Unless those dudes are Auto Tek.) Communication was pristine. Living in Texas in the summer it's so unbelievably hot. I will never own another vehicle with a sunroof as long as I live here. But, having said that, Auto Tek was the answer!!! I’ve used and trusted Autotek to provide great service for several years now. I took my car in to check and replace the brakes on the advice of a family member. Autotek checked them and let me know they were at 9-10 mm, and wouldn’t need service. As a 50+ year old female, I’ve had other shops and dealerships constantly try and upsell their services. I trust Autotek to take care of my car and charge me a fair price, while always being very professional and friendly.

Most of my communication has been with Aaron and he is very intentional with his work. All staff members are very kind and ensure you are comfortable with services before agreeing. I have never felt persuaded into auto repairs for their monetary gain. Staff members are very personable and the work environment seems healthy for staff and customers. There is a quick response time and every repair has been fixed efficiently and accurately. 10/10 recommend!!! :-)

A bit over priced for what you get, but their work is thorough. And don't hang up on them without saying bye, they will become super passive aggressive.
