First of all, of the positive reviews here are for a different business. All these positive reviews are for thrive, which is the business that was here but closed. This place Axis opened in December and I have been 3 times. Each time has been positively horrible. The first time I asked for a hoppy IPA and the guy running the bar said he didn’t know which ones were hoppy. Ok, weird, but whatever. So I asked if maybe there was someone around who would no. He told me that no, they fired everyone and they shouldn’t have bought this business and it was a huge mistake. How unprofessional!! So he just poured me some beer I don’t even remember-in a to go cup-and told me I could leave. Is to go beer even allowed? I’m pretty nice, so I gave them a couple more tries. Maybe they were having an off night. But no, each time I have found the staff to be rude and clueless regarding anything on their own drink menu. And the people are just not friendly. I think it’s scammy that they have all these positive reviews for a business that’s not even theirs. And I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but I am disappointed that I can no longer return to this spot that I have loved for so many years. Axis has been a negative experience every time I’ve been and I would not waste your time trying out this new spot. Maybe they just need more time to get used to owning a business but I would not spend money there again.

First, the location is great during Christmas because it us right in front of the 37th Street light display. Plus, there were fantastic Christmas decorations in the outdoor seating area. The bands that played on 12/13/2021 were great too! Their food was comparatively cheaper than most places in Austin nowadays. We came for dinner so there wasn't as much options as the lunch menus on the weekdays. We had the Midtown Melt, pretzels, and the the 360 Sprouts. My sprouts were mildly seasoned (not for people who loves flavorful food). Pretzels had a beer cheese that was kind of watery but the fresh mustard was superb! My partner said the melt was really good though. Hope y'all will try it out. This place has booze, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. That is really nice since not even Mozart's can offer that for people on a date. My partner had wine and I had hot chocolate. Perfect combo for people like us who have vastly different preferences for beverages. Overall, great experience. Try it out if you are coming to see the lights on 37th street!

I spent my lunch break looking for a place to get my State Inspection done. After being quoted 1.5 hours (maybe), going to a different business, chasing down an employee and being told the “State Inspector isn’t there and I don’t know when they will be back”, I about gave up. Before seeing the “Groovy Lube” sign. I pulled in, was immediately greeted. The staff was extremely friendly, professional, and VERY quick. While I waited (maybe 10-15 mins?) I sat inside Thrive Craft House. Which is connected to The Groovy Lube. I ordered a coffee and was greeted with smiling faces. The coffee at Thrive Craft House was delicious! They offer many types of Draft Beer, Coffee, and food. I cannot wait to go back! The customer service I received at both locations exceeded my expectations. I will continue to use both companies in the future!

*****update***** They changed ownership and will be reopening with a new style and twist. Will have to try the new place to say but will definitely try it because we loved it before. This is a wonderful place to have brunch on Sunday with friends. The staff was friendly and great at giving beer and food suggestions. We tried the migas with added chicken tinga ( the ranchero sauce was a great addition) , the avocado toast plate , the pecan tree omelette and the Rio Grande Calzone. All the food was perfect. They have a amazing beer selection and the Morgalada is a must try. Over all great vibes and a great place.

I stopped by here yesterday morning after dropping my mom off for surgery and wanted to get something good for us both. I first saw the breakfast calzone on the menu and I was sold. It was about a 20 minute wait and i enjoyed a cheap half pour of beer (8oz) since I worked the night shift and needed a drink. The food and drink were both great but damn that calzone was award worthy! Very good quality 3 meat with eggs and cheese. Extremely filling and good size portion. I got two meals out of mine. I've never seen breakfast calzone for sale before but I could not recommend it more! Thank you for a great breakfast and friendly chat, customer service was and the lady working that morning was courteous and very helpful.

I loved Thrive, great food and great beer!!! I also like the staff, Ryan I believe was the manager and he did a great job and he was a pleasure to be around!!! The only thing that could make Thrive even better is if they did not require customers to wear masks!!!!! I mean seriously, when you are drinking and eating you do not have to wear and in my opinion being able to walk in the door without a mask would be awesome, what is the point and if they did this it would be the icing on the cake. Great new restaurant with a wide beer selection, delicious food, and great service! I’d recommend the chicken artichoke sandwich and the nachos. You can definitely tell the food here is homemade and a lot of care is put into it. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food and beer; something that can be hard to come by in Austin. The atmosphere here is also very warm and appealing if you’re looking for a good outdoor patio to enjoy a good beer on. I’d definitely recommend this place and will be returning!

Had a great breakfast with made to order traditional breakfast tacos and one of the breakfast Calzones that is unlike anything in the Austin area. Also, when. I am there for lunch their Flat bread pizzas are excellent. If your craving a good hand made burger that is totally fresh than place is one to goto. They have at least 50 beers on tap which change regularly and weekend live music too. Lots of activities always planned. Can't wait for the St. Patty's day menu.

Hello y'all... So I've been in this joint a few times and I've always left very pleased and with a full belly... Thrive is a Craft House, but they also offered a variety of food items, I've ordered the ATX Calzone every time and I'm sticking with it, it is delicious... Oh, did I mention that this joint has Live Music? Yeah, it is a nice little place to hang out & chill... Enjoy!

This little hidden gem off Guadalupe is great. Food is fantastic, quality fresh ingredients, delicious burgers sandwiches wraps soups tacos, great selection of craft beers (I think 30-40?), and extremely friendly staff and management. Great meet up even on a busy Saturday near downtown Austin. Get the Nachos!! Loved the beer flight - wish we had passed on the mimosa flight (where’s the champs?) Very small seating area inside and only slightly covered area outside (flies were horrendous.) The food was dangerously good. Boys raved about the burgers. Fish and chips just too greasy but the fish was plenty and homemade. Street parking where you can find it.

My friend and I enjoyed our lunch here on Dec 15. We sat outside and shared the nachos which were phenomenal! We each ordered a flatbread pizza. I had the “Graffiti Park” which was quite tasty. I’m back again today for more of the nachos!

This place has the BEST fish and chips in Austin! I haven’t had fried cod this good since I was in Washington state. Their fried artichoke is amazing as well. The atmosphere is super chill and all of the employees were friendly. I got a cheap iced coffee to go and it was surprisingly good. Great prices also for being in Central Austin. I’m so glad I found this place, now every time I crave good fish I know where to go!

Was happy to find this great spot. A bit of road noise didn't seem to bother us. The lunch choices were definitely above expectation. Brew selection will keep me coming back. Parking is my only real criticism. Cheers!

Awesome place to go have a beer and food. They have about 43 beers on tap ranging from pilsners, to sours to hazy etc. Just about everyone that goes there will find a beer that they would like. I only tried a few things on the menu and by far was really gooooood. Patio area is spacious and pet friendly which is a plus. By far this is a place that I would keep coming back to with family amd friends.

I had the pleasure of visiting this new bar in my neighborhood and I was impressed! The atmosphere was lively and upbeat, but the bartenders were incredibly friendly and attentive. I felt like I was in a family atmosphere, as if I had known the bartenders for years! They were so knowledgeable about their drinks and really seemed to care about ensuring their customers had a great experience.

My husband and I have been a few time since they've opened and it's always great food, drinks and service. From coffee, brunch and mimosas to live music, beer and dinner this place is a must visit. Great food and drink selections and great atmosphere. Perfect place to chill and catch up with friends or have a fun date night! Highly recommend checking this place out ! :)

Recommendation from some locals, I ate and tried their beer list. Food was good (fancy sandwich). Beer list was big, but on a video screen that was hard to read, it kept changing so fast. Got one good drink with dinner. Had good service except for the "meh" help choosing my beer from the bartender. Pleasant atmosphere sitting outdoors on the patio. Covid19 safe.

Thrive has a solid menu with a lot of different options and a large beer selection. It’s has nice inside seating area with a large bar and some tvs if you wanted to watch a game. I like this spot and the only downside is they don’t have much in the way of parking besides the street.

My new favorite spot! I'm just getting into beers and this is the perfect place to try out new things! The food is made so fresh and priced so well :) Great espresso drinks! On top of that, the staff is so attentive and friendly! They answered all of my questions and helped me find my favorite drink! I'm definitely coming back here again.

Ordered from their power up! Breakfast bowls on Uber eats. Food is good quality but they trick you with their pictures into thinking you're going to get like half an avocado in the bowl when really it's just a few pieces, same thing if you add bacon to the bowl. The only thing you can rely on in terms of quantity is the eggs and potatoes.

Just relocated to Austin and discovered this little jewel in Hyde Park with a great patio abs vibe. Great atmosphere and an active calendar of events. Also has all NFL games so a perfect place for your Sunday afternoon. Matt was fantastic behind the bar.

The fish and chips is a huge portion and best we’ve had in Austin. Chef brought the batter recipe from the northeast—yum! Extensive beer menu, and thoughtful tastings available before purchase. I love their margarita—not too sweet and very refreshing. Not a mix. Pleasant patio and dog friendly. We’ve been back a few times already!

Sat at the bar while waiting for my oil change and one of the owners/managers literally saw us and said the bar was closed and we could Only order food from the QR code. 5 minutes later an older white lady walked in and literally offered a glass of white wine for free and also served another person a beer. Thrive has potential, but I really don’t like that the bartender with glasses doesn’t ever wear a mask. I wish Thrive would enforce mask-wearing. The live music is a hit or miss, sometimes it’s good (jazz night), other times it’s just abysmal covers of pop songs. Also - $6 chips and salsa?!? That feels a lot like stealing.

Chill vibes. Less than a year old. Still have yet to try some of the food. Was told by a regular the wings, pizza and pork belly tacos are the way to go. Dog friendly! Outside patio available…they have a vape vending machine I’ve never seen that before! First time here will be back. Ask for Cam he helped me with my order.

Came on a day when their pizza oven was down and it was still great. They had a huevos rancheros breakfast plate that was awesome and the The Drag is rad. If you’re doing a brunch for two, add two eggs to it. Great tap list and wine cocktails like sangria available.

I recently stopped by Axis Bar and it was a great time. The bar itself is well stocked with a wide selection of drinks. Drinks were really well made. The best part of the experience was the TVs around the bar playing sports. It's a great place to watch a game (or a few) and have a good time. Highly recommend Axis Bar!

Had an impromptu visit for lunch. The pretzel bites and sandwiches were very good. We’ll definitely be back for coffee and beer, hopefully to check out live music too like the Mighty Fuzz.

Stepped in as I was awaiting my car’s oil change at Groovy lube. This place is has amazing tacos and great vanilla latte. The person at the front was very friendly and kind. Get your oil change and have a taco and caffeinated beverage or a beer (responsibly please) while you wait in a clean, cool, and chill place.

Awesome experience at Thrive! This is a perfect new edition to Austin and must do. Excellent customer service!!! Zach is absolutely amazing and made our experience unforgettable. We really enjoyed the outdoor patio and live music and had to come back two nights in a row. Great food too! Can't wait to go back.

They have an excellent here selection. The food was very well done especially for pub fare. The onions rings are nice and crispy. The lady bird, which is fried for was really good. A friend had the fried artichokes it was really great. We are pleasantly surprised.

This place has an Awesome selection of local beers, including Electric Jellyfish also they have a Great outside patio and with live music when we went on Friday! The Chicken + Artichoke sandwich for dinner was spot on.

Comedy on Wednesday was hilarious, service was fantastic, beer selection was also superb. Food was subpar. Too greasy and seemed like everything was deep-fried. I'll be back, but likely will have dinner first.

Very cute spot with spacious outdoor seating. The jalapeno bacon burger was very good--would recommend. The artichoke dip was good but a bit difficult to scoop. All in all, i'll definitely be returning!

We loved Thrive. Cozy environment, great local brews and awesome food. The owners are great people. I would highly recommend for anyone looking to get a taste of the Austin culture. We will be back.

They had tons of beers to choose from, and you can get a flight for about $2 or $3 for each tasting. The City Limits Fire Burger was good, and they have free comedy shows on Wednesday at 8pm.
