Overall not amazing due in part to warranty coverage. People very polite, however 78 pounds is very expensive for a diagnostic charge...! This was made better by having my car longer than the one hour so worked out better value. However I took my car in with a quarter of a tank which is roughly 80-100 miles. When I got my car back i had only 10 miles left. I expect some fuel to be used but that is excessive consumption suggesting my car has been driven frequently. If this is the case fine, but at least refill it partly. Also my back left wheel has been curbed. There were some small marks previously but new marks have been added since it’s been at the garage. This will probably be disputed as previous poor reviews have shown that the owner is quick to defend rather than discuss with the reviewer. Edit 1: Following the response I felt I should reply as the owner as quickly come on the offensive as I mentioned. In person the people are polite, however when they have been challenged they are quick to outline the customer as a liar rather than reflecting and thinking how could I use this criticism constructively. I must stress I did not apologise once, however accepted what they said realising it wasn’t going to go anywhere, and was more of a waste of my time to engage with these people. The person I spoke to was Mark regarding this issue. I maintain that them keeping the car for longer with the same price was good customer service, so far in fact that when I was quoted by MARK that the cost was 72 and actually arrived to be 78 I did not bother to dispute the fact. If driving it 17.2 miles is true, fair enough, however the mileage counter has increased by far more than that so I’m interested to see an explanation for that. Also the amount of fuel in the tank suggested a range of 100 miles. I’m unable to prove damage to my wheel as I had no photo prior to it being with garage which I admit is my mistake. I’d suggest that the owners take a long reflection, even reviewing the google business review terms. This wasn’t a personal attack, it was a review of my experience. Surely they must be able to realise that dealing with a negative review in an extremely negative manner is more likely to skew the customers opinion. I would never suggest anyone to use this garage as when they are at fault or provide a service viewed as unsatisfactory, they’d rather brand the reviewer a liar rather than thinking “where can I improve”. Edit 2: Following the discussion I had with the owner I never had time to remove/ amend my comment. Reflecting after two months, I still feel my comments are entirely just and in no way unfair. In my opinion I do not care who has driven the vehicle and telling me “ I drive a car of higher values than yours” does not reinforce me with confidence that you have taken care with mine. In fact suggesting that arrogance makes me more sceptical of the care. I would definitely not return here which does not do justice or suggest the positive to the work Mark did, however reflects extremely badly on the owner and his attitude towards clients. I especially maintain that the owner needs to take a long look at themselves to improve their customer service skills which are currently non-existent .

I was recommended to go to B + W after a number of failed attempts to have an engine fault on my BMW diagnosed by other garages in the area. The AA recommended B+W as they were part of their approved garages scheme for warranty repairs and a local friend backed up that recommendation by confirming that B+W were the only garage that were able to diagnose and repair an engine fault on his Audi A4. Armed with that information I eventually ended up at B+W and I was not disappointed in the outcome. B+W had the right equipment and expertise to diagnose and remedy what was a complex engine fault concerning timing chains and dual mass flywheels that way beyond my understanding. They explained the problems in a very clear down to earth way, advised exactly what the likely timescale and cost for carrying out the work would be and were true to their word. Their charges were extremely competitive, they acted in a very professional way, advising at every stage of the work, how they were progressing identifying any issues or successes. They managed my concerns and expectations extremely well. The work, involving removal of the gear box and engine from the car and replacing the necessary component parts was carried out very efficiently. I was kept fully informed and offered the opportunity to view the progress of the repair work and damaged components of the engine. Every element of the work was itemised and the final cost was very competitive. They even organised extremely cheap car hire for me for the duration of the work. I cannot thank Mark Paul Ann and their team enough for the friendly professional and efficient service they have provided. The car is now running like a new car again!! Many thanks Peter

I have no doubts about this garages integrity and by reading some of the reviews here the guys and B&W seem to be doing a cracking job keeping their customers happy. Unfortunately as a potential new customer not me, I felt pretty uncomfortable right from the start when dropping my audi off to be repaired under AA warranty which covers up to 500.00 The issue a faulty alternator. ..... Got a call back from B&W about 4 days later to confirm that the work could be carried out but (the warranty capped at 500.00) was not likely to cover the job so additional fees would be likely with the extra labour est 2.5hrs plus they were not certain that a few parts may or may not be damaged during the job. I declined for the work to be carried under these conditions and have now collected my car as A) Audi Coulsdon quoted 546.00 for a Valvo manufacturered alternator inclusive of diagnostics, parts, fitting and labour. and 568.00 for a Bosch. B) Peter Norris VW Independent Garage in Clapham quoted 460.00 plus vat all in, so dropping the car in next week! I am fairly satisfied with the end result based on minimising my excess payment and having a firm willing to take on the job at a fixed price. I am relieved the work was not carried out at B&W and in the future will listen to my own instincts on recommended garages not the AAs.

I had a very unpleasant experience with a member of staff from this business recently. I parked in their car park after work ( there were no spaces in Sainsburies car park), I thought it would be okay, there was no one around and I didn’t think it would cause anyone any upset. After going into Sainburies for 5 minutes I came out and my car had been locked in the car park. I knocked on the door, in a panic as I thought they had closed but out came one of their employees, I apologised profusely, he was pretty unhappy that he’d had to wait to leave to let me out (after purposely locking me in) so again, I apologised. He was pretty angry. He walked me to the gate to let me out, continuing to berate me for parking there, I apologised again but he continued to talk to me in an aggressive manner. Please bear in mind, I am a young woman, it was dark and I was on my own. He then started again… I apologised once more. By this point I was finding him beyond unnecessarily unpleasant considering I had apologised many times. Before i got into my car he growled ‘GET OUT’ at me. In sum, his response was disproportionate to my actions, he was intimidating and I felt vulnerable and scared. I’m not a customer, no, but I am a human being and I did not deserve to be treated in such a way by this person. Disgraceful.

I took my car for burnt smell from engine oil leak seeing all the reviews. I was charged £70 for diagnostics and was given a quote for £850 for changing the breather system. When I agreed to get it fixed the bill came to £980. That's £240 for parts and£740 labour charge. After the work they said you have your traction control lights on. I asked what's wrong, they said I had to pay another£70 to diagnose and that they can't guarantee they will sort out. Went home next day along with traction lights engine management light also lit up. Not only that I still had the smell. So took it back. Now they claim they missed a tiny leak in the vacuum pump and that needs replacing. That's another £300 for pump and 200 for labour. In the first place i had paid £70 to diagnose oil leak and an exorbitant labour charge to fix it. Now I am left with same problem and been asked to pay more. I am not sure why they can't change the gasket of vacuum pump and sort the leak out. Not only the problem is there the engine management light also has lit up since they did the job. A total screw up. Totally avoid they are only interested in your money. I went there seeing ask the reviews, probably best for small jobs, changing brakes tyres etc.

Dreadful Service. Avoid at all costs. Having asked for a service to be carried out I was assured it would be carried out inline with the manufacturers requirements and inline with what type of service the car is due. (It states this on their website) The service that was carried out was not the correct service ( it was actually due a light service and a heavy service was carried out ). I naively believed that B&W Motors would check what service was due and carry out accordingly so I approved the work to be carried out. It was only after being presented with a £400 service bill that I began to question what was actually carried out. The service due would have actually only cost £170 at an Audi main dealer. When I disputed this the next day they said that they have no way of checking what service is due and as I had approved the work they would not release the keys until full payment was made. I reluctantly had to pay this to get my car back. Their pricing is very expensive and unnecessary. I was also quoted over £1000 to have the cambelt and water pump changed again something that an Audi main dealer can do for much cheaper. If you're in any doubt take it to a main dealer. Cheaper and better service.

I took my car for an Interim service to this place and they found a fault with break lights during the service. As I was planning to sell the car, I have requested for.a fix in a reasonable budget. They said they have fixed it temporarily and charged me £65. I have collected the car and came back home 10 minutes later then realised the lights broke again (i was not even sure if they were fixed it in the first place as they refused to demonstrate when i was at the site). I called back to enquire but the person (Paul?) i spoke to on the phone was extremely rude, argumentative and unhelpful. Do not expect customers to pay hundreds of pounds for your 'temporary' fixes which only last 10 minutes. If it can't be fixed then make it clear to the customer instead of 'temporarily' fixing it and charging the money. They rebooked me for another session but I am not ready to spend my money for another 'temporary' fix. I appreciate the technician I spoke to for his politeness and the effort but definitely not the person i spoke to on the phone. Never going back again.

After 2 years of trouble with my Audi Q5 3Ltr TDI, i was at my wits end. When coming to a stop, at very random times, the car was stalling. Not just a normal stall, a complete power failure! This happened between 2nd & 1st Gear. After several visits to various Audi Garages, and then some independent organizations, nobody could help, yet still charged me extortionate sums in the process! I explained the above problem to Gary Chute at B&W, and nothing was beyond them nor too much trouble - i had little faith due to the last 2 years though! Within 24 hours, not only had B&W located the issue through intensive triage, they had also remedied the issue. The car drives now like it has never before, and feels like a new motor. The service, the expertise, the professionalism was second to none - outstanding in fact. I would highly recommend B&W to anyone for anything. I drive a smart for two 698cc Brabus roadster cabriolet(101bhp)and after the drive belt along with the alternator seizing I decided not to use the Smart car center in Guildford or even the Smart center on Brighton Road, previously used, due to questionable maintenance over charging.I found this superb company through the google search engine and I can sincerely state that every single individual I encountered at their office were all men of integrity. I would also like to remind anyone reading this review that I have not been paid by the company to leave this review,but felt it a necessity to highly appraise and recommend the chaps at this superb company.I give people merit on their phone mannerism and how they conduct themselves with me and I instantly felt at ease with both Paul and Mark. For this reason i award them 5 stars for a very competent and professional job well done.

Great service. Only garage in my 12 years of owning a vehicle that I have full confidence and trust in. For a prime example, I bought a new vehicle was told timing belt had been changed along with water pump however receipt shown looked like printed off at home so asked Paul to carry out the works anyway judt incase. He got back to me and advised that it did look brand new and didnt need changing. Any other garage MAY well have judt done the works anyway. I would always bring my vehicle to them for works and recommend to anyone and family and friends. Really happy with all works carried out. Great and efficient service and always gets the car back to you as soon as possible getting the works completed as soon as they can. Again extremely happy with all works ever carried out and advise given to from Mark,Paul and Gary. Top notch garage.

Professional, Knowledgable, nothing too much trouble. My car suffered an electronic module failure. B&W used their breadth of electronic analysis tools to pin point the problem. Professionally, they went further to diagnostically prove that there were no further problems beyond the module. They explained problem well, respecting my technical knowledge, also and offered a solution. They were also amenable to me sourcing a replacement part and fitting it. They kept me informed throughout the repair process, including running costs so there were no surprises. Ameable to safely keep my vehicle unitil part sourced. On part arrival, quickly installed and commisioned. Thank you B&W, you have been recommeded - serveral times. I wouldn't hestitate using your services again. Please keep up your excellent transparent service.

My husband, son, daughter and I have been using B&W for a number of years. They service our cars and we are extremely happy with them. Nothing is too much trouble. They give sound advice and do not replace anything on the cars unless absolutely necessary. Not many garages do that. I recently had an accident in my car. It is 16 years old and the insurance company wanted to right it off, even though the damage was not extensive. I took it to B&W and they were brilliant. Mark managed to replace the original front light and did an amazing job on the paintwork. I did not recognise the car, it is all working fine now AND I was only charged for the Labour. Win win! I am so happy and to think that the insurance company wanted to right it off. Thank you Mark.

Have several cars in the family and have them all serviced by B & W Motors. All the staff are friendly and very helpful and having experienced the quality of their work I would not hesitate to recommend B & W Motor Company to friends and other family members. I can honestly say I have total trust that when I leave a car in their hands they will never do any work that is not required and I give them a free hand to replace any parts deemed necessary to keep the vehicles in top condition. The cars they have serviced for my family members range from a VW to a BMW and even a Lotus so I think that proves that they can service most vehicles on the roads today and I can add to a high standard and a fair price. This is the most deceptive garage i have been to. despite me telling them the issue with my vehicle and providing fault codes they assured they had the tools and knowledge to do it however they broke the vehicle further and i was left with no choice but to scrap it and they still charged me £200 for breaking it. Charged £100 for diagnostic (takes less than 5 min) Charged another £100 for labour had the vehicle for 2 day and came up with a worsened result .i was appalled at this and very disappointed in paying to put myself in a worse situation. Prime example of daylight robbery I DONT USUALLY LEAVE REVIEWS BUT I WAS SO UPSET WITH THE SERVICE AND FINAL RESULT I WOULD NOT LIKE THIS TO HAPPPEN TO ANYONE.

B & W were recommended by my neighbour and were absolutely excellent. I had an urgent problem with the interior of the car before going away for Xmas. The car was booked in but they said they would also call sooner if there was a cancellation. This was not a vague empty promise. They did take the trouble to call and took the car in a day earlier. They fixed it perfectly and returned the car in a better and cleaner state than when I brought it in. They are extremely friendly and welcoming. This is the real service and attention to detail that you would expect from a dedicated dealership but which are so often either disappointing or over-priced. A real pleasure. Highly recommended.

Took my car in for an MOT and they were able to accommodate me at short notice. Unfortunately the car failed on a steering issue which B&W resolved for me. They presented me with a number of options and were very clear about the cost of each and why. When one option turned out as not viable B&W contacted me and advised me of my remaining options. I mainly dealt with Mark who is friendly and and kept me informed. We have the car back all cleaned which I was not expecting but a nice touch. We have moved to the area recently and good garages that you feel you can trust are like gold dust so I am glad I used this company and will use in the future without a second thought.

Had an issue with the infotainment screen on my disco 3.went to JLR and they didn't seem interested unless I booked in a diagnostic session and ordered another disc north of £400 in total..... Tried these guys as they advertise on their website as diagnostics....against the advice of the forums they correctly identified the screen as the problem for under £100....then advised me to get a secondhand unit online for £75 as opposed to JLR's £940 + vat......then fitted screen for under 30 quid!!!!! Totally professional from start to finish and advised throughout... definitely using these guys again as I feel you can trust them...not looking to take your money.

B&W Motors couldn't have been more helpful & friendly when I needed a clutch replacement, especially Gary. He offered to pick my car up from my address although ultimately this wasn't required. Gary went out of his way to fit the job in to his team's busy schedule. He kept me informed of progress & costs and provided good, honest advice. Their labour rate is a fraction of the local dealership's, the job was completed on time and within budget and I have no complaints about the workmanship. I have used B&W on several occasions over the years and will do so in future. It's an honest, reliable local business worthy of support.

I've been with B&W for a 7 years now, and have only ever had good experiences with them. As I have bought 2 pretty old cars with high mileage in the time I've lived here, I've been to the garage a few times, and B&W have always been very helpful, and honest on what does and does not warrant repair. They have also been extremely helpful with general advice when I've needed it. I think it was friend of mine at work who recommended them to me, and I remember when my car first broke down at home the RAC man even said that B&W was a good garage when I said I was thinking of going there. Needn't say more really.

Earlier this week B&W Motors helped me get back on the road after a breakdown. Despite not having an appointment, they managed to fit me in, diagnose the problem, get a new part into the garage and get my car back on the road within a matter of hours. Avoid at all costs. Very rude staff on phone. He does not know how to talk to people (who only come to them when they have a significant problem so are already fairly stressed) and they are unwilling to provide timelines or cost (as some others have mentioned)...They are not as great as some others may claim as good customer service includes solving car problems and ensuring the customer is kept up to date on progress and costs. They give back car in a really dirty state from inside and are not cheap either...you have been warned...

B&W Garage have been maintaining my vehicles for many years after an initial bad experience with a main SEAT dealer in the area. They have been fantastic. very reasonable prices, top notch customer service, and nothing is ever a problem for them. When i sold my last car which had been maintained regularly by B&W, i sold it to a colleague who happened to be a motor technician of some 30 years. He actually commented how well the vehicle had been maintained and wanted to know who had looked after it. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Had a bit of a complex issue occur with the car last week needing me to call out RAC. None of my usual garages could take the car in or see it for weeks so took a recommendation. Very professional courteous and kept me informed as to cost. Even better they were able to save me the cost of a replacement tyre by inspecting it thoroughly rather than relying on my amateur opinion of I think it needs replacing. Will definitely add them to the very small book of garages I trust to look after the customer and will use them in future.

We've been customers of B&W for well over 20 years now, and the service and friendly reception are invariably excellent. It's the kind of car servicing place where they'll tell you that the brake pads aren't yet ready for replacement, but they might be in the next few months, so they give you a chance to decide whether to replace them now or wait a while. B&W have occasionally fitted in my car at short notice - usually when I've left it until the last few days to the the MoT test done - and always without complaint.

My car was making a strange noise and I was told by my breakdown company it was probably the drive shaft. Called B&W up and they kindly agreed that I could leave my car on the forecourt until they had a chance to look at it. They fixed my car on the agreed date, and it turned out to be a much smaller problem. They also repaired my puncture, and all at a very reasonable price! Very impressed with their customer service, nice friendly staff. Will definitely be taking my car back for its annual service and MOT.

Cannot fault the guys at all. Managed to look at my car on a Tuesday and carry out works on the Thursday of the same week. (Hows thats for service) Clutch pedal was clicking and Mark told me exactly what the problem was. Very informative on questions asked, even advised me on my amber warnings provided by my dealer. (Feel more at ease) First time i've used B & W and will continue to as well as recommend to family and friends. Well done guys fantastic service.

Booked my MOT in for the previous Saturday. Used a number of garages in the past and always been anxious about it. Straight away was put at ease, warm welcome and friendly service. Very fast MOT (45mins) and cost effective. Everything checked and sorted without any issues. Will definitely be using for future checks, services and MOTs. Very convenient location and easy to get to. Clean reception and can choose to wait for your MOT to complete.

Gary and his team were brilliant in helping to sort out my headlamps which had failed an MOT due to Halfords ill-fitted headlamp bulbs. Not only did they refit new bulbs and retested my MOT which passed, but I was also able to use all the pics/evidence they took with their invoice and successfully claim a full reimbursement of all the work done and refund of all the bulbs etc from Halfords. Would highly recommend them.

They've always identified and resolved any issue I've had, and even when performing routine services they always go way beyond expectations. I have been to other garages in Croydon as i worked in a service department for over a year. I was recommend these guys by a friend in the trade I was still skeptical .But i have to say i would recommend these guys friendly and great work i asked for my clutch to be done but noticed other things.they also loosen my gear box which i had a problem ever since i got the car. Now my car works like a dream .

I have been using B&W for a few years now. I have only ever received good service from them. They are professional, friendly and honest. The most recent experience being sending the car in for servicing and AC regas. It turns out that servicing is not required as they said the date was not set correctly from the last MOT. I would guess that any other garage may have just carry out the works anyway.

I dropped off my car for its annual service and MOT, the gentlemen at the garage were all very professional and friendly and were clearly following government COVID guidelines. As some who knows very little about cars they were amazing at breaking down the prices and explaining exactly what needed to be done to my car during its service. I am very happy with thir performance. Car broke down after opening hours, was advised how to leave it securely outside business for next day repair. Was done by noon the next day. I have been using B&W for a few years now. My recent experience when getting an MOT for my car was in line with what I have previously witnessed. The team are very professional and courteous. We started using B&W when Towergold shut down in Croydon a few years ago. B&W have always been really helpful and honest with us...we've never had any nasty surprises and they always try to advise us the best way to avoid any unnecessary costs where possible. As a result, we now only get our cars serviced/repaired at B&W, and even drive a bit further to get there.

My experience with B & W motor company was the best I’ve ever had with a garage. Really friendly and helpful and super efficient, they saw us at really short notice on the day after Boxing Day when all the other garages were closed which made our Christmas as we would not have been able to get home otherwise. Just picked up my 2018 VW Transporter from having servicing and brake work carried out. I can honestly say this is the best, most efficient, friendly and professional garage I've been to to date in and around the Croydon area. Cannot recommend these guys enough. Don't take my word for it, try them, you won't be disappointed.

Really helpful. Had just left the house on a Saturday morning to drive down to Portsmouth to catch a ferry when I had a series of warning lights come up on the dashboard - drove to B&W and they saw me straight away and quickly sorted the problem. Kwik-fit had recommended changing brake discs and pads on my car. I decided to get another opinion from the staff at B & W motor. They assessed and advised that the condition of the discs and pads were good and didn't need changing, saving me a lot of money! I really appreciate their honesty

I paid full price for mot but they did a half mot stating they would not do emissions part of mot because it's guaranteed to fail. They sd I will have to pay another £25 when I returned with the fixed car to complete the mot and get pass certificate. Obviously I did not return.

Thought I heard nsome noise coming from the suspension. Guys at B&W checked it twice just to calm me down that it's all good. Turned out to just be some spare wheel tools rattling in the boot. Ended up just re-gassing the A/C. Best service I found around the area so far.
