Big W Bankstown Staff are the worst when dealing with change of mind retuns on brand new items. I went on the 19/01/21 at 6:40pm. I was dissatisfied with the quality of the product. I tried returning a Dyson which i had just purchased 2 days ago that had very low poor suction, and was not doing what I had expected it to do. I wanted an upgrade on my vacuum, but it was worse than the one I had. Basically, the quality was not as I expected considering the price as well. They argued with me a lot, gas lightening me back and forth. They were extremely rude shouting at me to the point where the girl had felt guilt and rudely apologised and continued her behaviour. Very low and unprofessional manner and discriminating against me, taking me for granted because I’m a quite person. I was treated very badly. I am pregnant, and it was absolutely disgusting the way I was treated; I felt my temperature go high and I felt anxious, due to the way I was dealt with. I really couldn't believe that they would treat a customer like this, Big W has not employed people to treat their customers with such horrible service. But i wouldn't go there again to have another anxiety attack, so i just went to another Big w store and they were very happy to refund the Dyson and give me my money back. Looks like they are contradicting their policy, considering that another Big W had done that return for me. Gladly I did get the resolution I wanted, but honestly it was such an inhuman experience. I wouldn’t go there again when it comes to exchange or refunds, looks like they treat everyone like suspects. I rather go somewhere else, and not have to deal with unreasonable staff. I spoke to Fair trading and clearly, they were not following the Australian Consumer rights. I had every right to return it. It was only 2 days since I purchased the product. The manager Jess, Lina and Bill. All have not even acknowledged their rudeness. I called the next day, and honestly Bill did not apologise or acknowledge the situation and gladly brushed me off. - A very unhappy customer from the Bankstown store. Absolutely dishonourable staff. Big W deserves better than that.

I’ve tried to escape the pretentious attitudes in the eastern suburbs by visiting my childhood hometown and was met with the same but in a much more direct and judgmental way. My partner was followed as if he’d legitimately been caught shoplifting by them before. Not only is that not true, he’s never been in trouble like that and who would do so with a 3yr old child in tow! After trying to deal with the loss of my first child to a genetic muscle disease. I ventured down some dark paths in the years that followed and it cost me dearly. Disgusted in my lack of self control I viewed myself as better off becoming a statistic or nonexistent. That pity party added social anxiety to my extroverted and loud personality. I also shed over 35kgs from my usually 70-80kg frame (more like 90-100kg back then but on this side, it's a good thing!) Because of this I was taken for a drug addict and literally had staff running from me when I attempted to seek assistance. . The only saving grace was encountering the 2 wonderful ladies in charge of the self serve cash registers. If any of the younger poorly trained customer service crew on the floor had any common sense, they’d take a leaf from their book and show respect to ALL CUSTOMERS. FYI; a mystery shopper isn’t discernible by clothing or complexion. Neither is the career I had (bf kids) as a customer service manager. Probably for longer than they've been walking. EDITED DUE TO THE GRAMMATICAL EMBARRASSMENT, the necessity of including the obvious point below this and the over kill of the "angels weep for thee" story. Before any human being thinks their worthy of a PERFECTION label and therefore entitled to judge another. Remember this: There will ALWAYS be someone else that's going/gone through worse than you.

I experienced a racist interaction today - Mon 14/11 at around 1:15pm with the server at the customer service desk. The server was extremely helpful and friendly with the woman he was serving. When it was my turn he spoke to me rudely and loudly as if I'm hearing impaired or couldn't speak English, even though I spoke first. I thought he just had a problem with me. Even though his attitude is not right, I usually receive poor service so chalk it up to my situation. But when I walked away he served someone else and I heard him being rude. I turned around to see and saw he was serving an Asian woman. An advice to that employee - if you don't like Asians then work at a store without a lot Asian customers, or you know try to be kind. We are all people. You don't know what someone is going through and how would you feel if you are treated poorly.

Pathetic behaviour of security guard. I was touching pillow to check how soft it is. He asked very rudely what are u doing. I told him just checking its material he said you can't do it, this is not acceptable. I asked him it is not written anywhere and nobody told not to touch pillow, how can I buy without touching or checking it. but he kept saying this is not acceptable. Is this how you insult your customer?? Is this your standard of dealing with customer?? if you have any rules why don't you write in big letters "DO NOT TOUCH" or if there is any hygiene issue, why don't you guys mention it. Will any angel come and tell me about it?? I just left pillow without buying it and not gonna come again.

Bought 2 pairs of glasses from very limited range. Took more than a week to make it. After getting the text message saying my glasses are ready and no mention of they close at 5 (although the store is open till 9) I went there yesterday 7:30 and got very disappointed. Spoke to manager Dylan and expressed my disappointment as no where mentions that your optical department closes earlier than your store, unfortunately fallen to the deaf ears. A big store like this should have been more customer focus. At least when they texted me they could include that they closes early. And managers should be more sympathetic to the customers.

A huge shout out to the staff at Big W Bankstown. We enquired about two, rather large, televisions (not on the floor) and Imran, from Electronics, went to the stock area and returned pushing the two enormous boxes. Thank you Kirsten, from Lay By, was amazing, after realising we would have issues carrying the boxes and unable to have the dock opened or a trolley that would help move the tvs to our car, she organised for three young men to assist us to get the items down to our car. What could have been a difficult situation for us, the customer, was solved by the staff at Big W. Thankyou to all those involved.

Just went shopping with my friend (who’s of brown background) and the lady at the fitting rooms not only judged us but spoke so rudely, she had a very mean tone like she was speaking down to us. she gave us looks like we were up to something bad. She made us put our clothes back where we got them rather than just taking them out of our hands and putting them on a rail (which is her job btw). we also overheard her being rude to customers on the phone and in person. not sure of her name but she wore glasses and had her hair up which was dark. disappointed to say the least.

Staff seem generally clueless about their own procedures. I've learnt that if one of them tells you that you can't do something or obtain a certain service - OBTAIN A SECOND OPINION. And make sure it's someone in authority. Also don't bother trying to order online as they are worse than useless. You'll get no confirmation of your order until you either follow it up or it magically appears on your doorstep. Seemingly their delivery drivers are either unwilling or unable to use doorbells so pray to any deity you wish if you don't want your package to go walking.

Terrible experience at this BigW today. Went in 15 mins before to return the defective items. Browsed around and reached at the CS counter 3 minutes before the closing and was refused for service saying the store is closed. Upon indicating 3mins to spare, the lady said we have to start wrapping up so I can't help you. Extremely rude customer service. If they call this a service, good luck then. Thanks to the store manager, Rene, who came to the rescue and apologised for the experience. I appreciate him as he waited 5mins overtime to help us.

Poor customer service from Sue at self-serve area on 19th April. She stood right next to my mum and watched her scan all the items and then proceeded to ask if we scanned the 15cent BAG! even though she saw us scan it. So much for social distancing in the store when she was literally breathing on my mums shoulder. Sue made my mum and I feel extremely uncomfortable and unsafe whilst scanning our items. I understand that she is making sure there is no theft, but that doesn't mean you have to be rude and intimidating to your customers!

Vince and Vesna, plus other staff at Bankstown big W deserve a huge shout-out for helping me get a product I've been waiting 2 weeks to get back in stock. Vesna helped me so much when I approached her and Vince got it off a pallet in the back as they had not unloaded it yet. They never made me feel at all like I was bothering them and were so friendly. The other staff that saw me waiting always stopped to make sure I was looked after as well. I'm so appreciative of their help and hope they get some recognition for their efforts.

I left empty handed. BIG W systems waste your time. Bought a coffee machine on click and collect. I show up 4 hrs later and am told the click and collect team go home at noon. The Service Desk staff tell me that’s unfortunate and the confirmation email explains this (most definitely doesn’t). No one can help even though there is stock sitting on the shelf. They offer to cancel my order and let me buy in store. I go and pick one up but turns out I can’t then use the savings coupon. What a debacle. Who makes up these rules?

Upon entering the store, I was greeted with two female staff members, having a full DM and was given a dirty look because I wanted to look at the pillows which where on special. I asked her why did she look at me like that and she just looked like she sucked a lemon. Once in the store I went to the returns desk only to be treated with another lemon who was dry as could be And last but not least once I reached the register Cheryl was just as discussing as the other two if you hate your job leave .

Big W is a great department store where you can find a bit of everything. You can also buy home wares, electrical items, cards, wrapping paper, confectionery, linen, books, camping gear and economically priced fashion items for adults and children of all ages. This is a great store which is well presented. I purchased our grand children's gifts from here as they a great range of kids clothing which is economical and launders well.

Customer service is terrible. Waited 20 minutes to be served at the service counter just for them to tell me that they couldn’t fulfil my click and collect because “the online team has gone home”. as if they couldn’t grab the one item and hand it to me? I’ve done click and collects myself and I know it doesn’t take long to do, nor is it complicated. don’t waste your time talking to the staff here.

Staff at this store seem to disappear and pass the buck when it comes to waiting in line for click and collect, thankyou to Ali who helped and actually called the staff member bill to his section and Ali helped clear the backlog even though it wasn't his department. Ali he did it with a smile and friendly personality and apologised to the line for the 15+ minutes delay.

5 stars for the lady in charhe of the tech section on the 24/02/2023 at around 6 p.m. super helpfull, knowledgeable and most of all she care about the customer before the sale. I was after fujifilm pack of 60 and it was out of atock and she told me that if it was not urgent i can just call and check stock in the week as she got none right now. Love it!

The party store didn't fill up my big ballons enough and when they realised the other balloons were smaller than expected instead of filling it up properly after the first 2 popped they filled it to the size they assumed it would be. Very unprofessional not even an apology. My high grade foil balloons look deflated after 10 hours.

As you’d expect from a department store, customer service 10/10 the minute I walked in was greeted by staff, even offered a trolley by security which was a lovely gesture considering I had a few bags already in my hands. Went to buy a sports outfit lots of specials today lots of half price sales. Well laid out and lots of big signs so it is easy to know where you are going. Items stacked well on shelves and there weren't any items on the floor unlike some other stores

Big W is one of the better department store chains but the stock levels in the primary school clothes section is pretty terrible, found it difficult to get the items we need for our grade 2 boy... Prices are great so I wish they had the gear I want
