Worst customer service, I went in to open up an RRSP account on January 7, 2020. I saw Elana Rusu she looked me up and down when I got to the appointment and gave me a disgusted look. When we were talking about the rrsps she asked how much I would like to start with. I told her, she said. Oh well, that's not a very good amount to start with. It's rather small you will not have to worry about the government coming after you. I was really upset with this comment because here I am trying to start something for my future and I was being judged and not just that, no support she kept looking outside of her door not paying any attention to what was going I with the appointment. I felt it was rather rude and insulting because I was sitting right there and she just looked right past me. She was uninterested in me. Period. Elena has no idea about my financial situation. I let her know that I needed to see what my tax assessment said first then I could always contribute more after I saw what I was allowed per year. I felt I needed to defend myself. I left there almost crying with the way she treated me. I have been banking with BMO for over 20 years and this is the worse bank and service I have ever received. I tried to call the branch 8 times to complain and I didn't get anyone on the phone not once. It was always voicemail. I will never go here again.
I used to solely use BMO for all of my banking and investment needs, but have since transferred the majority of my funds elsewhere. I had several appointments with Elena Rusu over the years, and she was always very friendly and eager to help. Met with her again a few weeks ago to discuss my remaining accounts, and she was grumpy, rude, and condescending. She first made a snarky comment about the reason for my appointment (simply reviewing my accounts), and acted as if I was wasting her time. Am I not allowed to come in to review things and ask questions about my options periodically? I thought that’s what customer service at a bank is for. Every question I asked her was met with a long explanation in a patronizing tone, which she continued to regurgitate several times after I clearly acknowledged that I understood. I ended up leaving without accomplishing what I intended to at my appointment, as I’d had enough. While I realize that I’m now considered to be a “small fish” relative to the years when I did all of my banking with BMO, that should have no bearing on the quality of customer service a person receives. I’m utterly disgusted with Elena’s customer service this time around and have since closed all of my BMO accounts.
READ THIS ABOUT THE MANAGER "MARLO" This person should have no contact with the public, rude and arrogant to say the least. I went to send a wire which took almost 30 minutes and the entire time she was suspicious and asking me questions that were not relevant nor did they specify a safety concern for me the client. Needless to say she was not looking closely enough and had made an error but instead of apologizing she just walked off. This person should not be allowed to speak with the public and probably should find another job. I was polite the entire time and she was not, that says a lot. I had one of the worst customer service experience with this branch today. This one was my go to branch for my business deposit. Went there today to do my business deposit today , after waiting in line for half an hour outside, branch manager came out and told me that they can’t accept my money and asked me to arrange a night deposit ( being said I already applied for night deposit keys at 2 different locations but still waiting for keys ) so I requested atleast accept my money today as I am waiting in line for half an hour but she didn’t gave a damn about me and asked me to leave. I was about to meet their mortgage consultant for my house mortgage but after this horrible experience they are not getting my business for sure.
Been waiting in a line up, long line up and only two tillers. Four other staff sitting in the office with no customers. One staff running around putting sign up asking for kindness. Lady chatting about personal items for 20 min with tiller. People came in and left because line up was too long. They should have back up tillers when line up get long. That why people get annoyed. They need to serve people bit quicker instead of chatting. Would go to another branch but this is the closest one. By the time I finished typing this 6 people in line up two tillers and been 30 min got to the till there was highly confidential paperwork for International transfer left by my pid pad beside my desk.
Went to this branch to deposit a cheque. It is a cheque issued by my own company to be deposited into my personal account. Encountered with an African teller, didn’t bother to check my deposit history at all, told me directly it needed to be hold for a few days. It was not my first time to deposit a cheque issued by my own company, at least he need to show some efforts first, then tell me it needed to be hold. Asked him to consult with his manager, then an undereducated Caucasian lady approached, didn’t bother to do any due diligence either. Wasted my time. Please hire some qualified staffs and provide proper training.
Both myself and my business have been using this branch for some time and we have found that both the customer service and the thoroughness of the staff's attention to details have been excellent. I was surprised to see negative reviews for Elena Rusu as she has been consistently kind, professional and efficient. She has been reliable as our business account manager. Considering I use this bank for both personal and business, I believe it is fair to say that I have found the staff personable and have had almost no problems, errors, or negative experiences over the several years I have used them.
Absolutely disgusting customer service in the branch... did an online account, was told to go into the store to activate account, upon arriving at the branch, I waited 10 minutes to be helped, and then after being helped, was told someone else will help me and that I can go take a seat. After watching no one being busy, and waiting for 20 minutes I asked again and was instantly helped.... pathetic how they cannot even relay a message. Feels really bad opening an account when this is how the home branches attentiveness is. Makes me worry about the rest of the BMO experience.
I was approved for a credit card online, and went into the branch, as it had been weeks and I had yet to receive it. The teller I dealt with was dismissive and rude, telling me to be patient, while he just stood there until I left. It's now been over a month, so I called BMO, to find out they had the wrong address on file. This has impacted me financially, and has been quite frustrating to find out I would have received my credit card awhile ago without much financial impact, should the original teller actually look at my file.
Needs more training with customer service and current information technical wise. So, my I.d looks like a mug shot mostly and I totally get the burst of laughter as soon as they saw it as I did too when I first received it. Understandable, on the other hand inappropriate. This was last month. And for technical support more knowledge such as how to work the app. This will of course get deleted when things change as I do like the location!
I have my business account with BMO and so far have had a great experience with this branch. Today Jesse Y. was extraordinary and went out of his way to help me with some paperwork. I came to the branch yesterday and explained what I needed and although he was not familiar with it, he asked me to leave my forms and come back the next morning. I came in today and everything was ready! Excellent customer service and dedication! Thank you!
I book an appointment with Chineme Efana-Okon to discuss some issue but when I received call from her. She asked me to hold right after call n talked with some honey. Oh Man. Then I intrupt her n ask my question then she told "bye honey" n listen to me with zero solution. Bank should look into this. That kind of employees damage bank repute. I am sure, she is working from home. But there should be some working ethics too.
I wanted to wire a good sum to a person in the US, Nick Serrano advised me to come back in the morning. I did. He called the Trading room, got me a preferential exchange rate. Saved the recipient C$1,000 in this transaction. The process was smooth, unlike a similar service I got from another branch. I was more than pleased, receiving such an advice and private banking like service in a branch. Thanks Nick.
Whenever I go to the general tellers, I find the service to be unsatisfactory. No matter how many people are waiting, there is little effort to add service reps to speed things up. I try to use the automated banking machines. Better service. Meeting with Joshi Arjun today. I just wanted to get updated on current GIC options available. The meeting started on time and Joshi's preparedness was appreciated.
Been coming few months in a row, always insane wait! Like in the grocery stores during peak hours! Why not to add 1-2 extra staff during the week? We are all busy and bringing business and money to BMO and that's how you treat customers with lines. And everybody is sooo slow like nobody cares. Also branch closing at 5 which make almost impossible to come comfortably!
I dealt with them to settle my father's estate and I have to say I was so impressed with the service and the knowledge of the staff that I would consider switching banks. Sonia and the branch manager were a delight to deal with and I am encouraging my wife to use this branch as she is a current BMO customer.
With the exception of Elijah who was absolutely wonderful, the other two personal bankers I dealt with were unbelievably terrible. No customer service to speak of, no follow up, and a lack of transparency with information. I will never recommend this branch to anyone. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

Had an issue with a email transfer that I never received yet was showing transferred. The teller tried his best to fix the problem but had to be escalated to senior management. Took them 2 weeks to correct the system error. Short wait time in the line up which was a change.
If I could give 0 zero rate I would. The mortgage specialist Wenyi Li was the worst person with worst customer service I’ve ever had in my whole life in Canada. Like if that’s how you treat your clients. Go ahead. Let’s wait for karma comes after you :) good luck.
BMO branch manager asked me go sit in my car and do the consult over the phone as I was making them uncomfortable not wearing a face shield which provides stoppage to 3% droplet spread. Plus there was a plastic barrier up. Gonna take my business elsewhere.
Believe it or not, this is the most rude customer services I ever had.. Before arguing with the customers, they need to fix their information on the internet sites.
Had the best customer service from a young teller. I think his name was elijah, cant rrmember- but he was wonderful. Recommend this branch just for him.
Good BMO branch, this is my main bank that I go to because of the drive thru. Very convenient. Plus the staff inside is friendly and quite helpful!
