"Phenomenal"
"Without a doubt my favourite bookshop in London! Pete is super knowledgable and runs this joint with a heart of gold and zero regard for market value – he truly wants you to get a bargain at an affordable price, and you're guaranteed to find something fascinating"
"Easily one of the best secondhand bookshops in London"
"Looking through the stacks and stacks of books in no particular order was very pleasant"
"The shelves aren't organised, but I've realised later that I prefer it that way because you start paying attention to books you wouldn't normally look for"
Phenomenal. This is a wonderful book shop and hot bed of Zine activity. I was delighted by the quantity of really good books in such a small space, obviously curated for the literary minded, bibliophiles and book geeks, from dust jacketed penguins to ace doubles, all the best type of works, for the inquisitive and book hunter alike, it's a well stocked shop. Further delight was Peter who runs the show, quietly working away keeping shelves filled, but when I asked for a given author, knew where they were immediately. The zine selection here is astounding with two walls and a number of display stands just for Zines. Picked up The Books Review of Books and was impressed, a cracking read. Open at selected times Thursday to the weekend - it's wonderful.
Without a doubt my favourite bookshop in London! Pete is super knowledgable and runs this joint with a heart of gold and zero regard for market value – he truly wants you to get a bargain at an affordable price, and you're guaranteed to find something fascinating. Excellent for fiction/art/anomalies and a clued in selection of the best zines.
Easily one of the best secondhand bookshops in London. Hours erratic but if you join on Instagram you’ll find out when it opens at the start of each week. I’ve never been without buying at least one book... Graham Greene, Balzac, Jack London, David Foster Wallace, Junichiro Tanizaki, Thomas Pynchon, Doris Lessing... only £2/3 each.
Looking through the stacks and stacks of books in no particular order was very pleasant. The whole place radiated a love of literature and creativity. An authentic experience not often found.
The shelves aren't organised, but I've realised later that I prefer it that way because you start paying attention to books you wouldn't normally look for.
A great book store with a friendly service too . Be prepared to do some hunting around , some gems to be had here ***** CF
It's pretty simple really. It's in the name: BOOKS. If you like books, you'll like BOOKS. It really is that simple.
Great varied selection and good prices. Many good finds for left book collectors. Hours a bit erratic though !
Great for a rummage with all kinds of books, magazines and comics, all with friendly prices.
Always so excited to see what great finds are brought in! Unbeatable prices. :)
