Sometimes you get an okay associate and sometimes you don’t but all of them look miserable working there. My passport was expired and I didn’t have my DL bc I just got robbed the previous day in a car break in. I know there was a possibility of it not working but the associate was just awfully rude for no reason. He laughed when he read 1995 on my passport acting like it was fake. I know most people would take looking young as a compliment but it was just frustrating to have someone think you’re lying and faking when you’re just in an unfortunate situation and stressed out because of it. No empathy whatsoever or good customer service when I was trying to come up with a solution since I walked there. Once I get my new DL I simply won’t return. It’s overpriced anyway

Fun wine shop, even if we did come in asking if they had any interesting meads, because we liked sweet wines, and were directed to a bottle that *looked* extremely interesting, advertising itself as a "mango, black pepper mead", but when we got it home and tried it, it didn't taste anything like mead, it tasted like beer. That was a disappointment. I do wish they had some proper mead-tasting meads. On the other hand, the two sweet wines we tried at their little wine bar while we were waiting for our dinner reservations, were both truly fantastic, and amazingly, quite reasonably priced given that it's a wine bar and in downtown LA. The "bartender", such as it was, was pretty friendly, if a little distracted. I'd totally come back and try some other things there if I was in the area again.
BUZZ Wine Beer Shop is not your typical shop. Nor is it your typical bar. The 200 monthly wine bottle change make for a unique selection that is even too crafty for the average hipster. Don't intend on finding anything mainstream here. Expect to expand your drinking experience and learn a thing or two about curated wine and beer. Here you can get quality, natural wine and beer for a price that your local grocery store couldn't match. This shop allows for not only variety, but the knowledgeable staff behind the counters ensure each bottle is personalized to your specific needs. Not to mention the iconic location on the corner of 5th and Spring St. make it easy to find. Did I mention that if you're too eager to wait to open your bottle at home they'll crack it open for you at the bar?
Love the concept of being able to buy a bottle of wine up front to drink in the bar at the back. However, they would charge you $8 corkage to do that. Skip the Beaujolais they carry. A bottle was recommended by the staff, and it tastes like sour grapes juice. Response to Wine Geek who kindly served us and commented below: Considering that the bottle was paid for in the market up front prior to the taste pour, would it have been possible to return the bottle for something else? It says on Buzz's receipt that all alcohol sales are final according to Federal and State laws. Perhaps, other patrons and I should have known that. Wine preference differs greatly between one person to the next, I am sure there are others like yourself who enjoyed the same bottle.
I love coming in here for the great wine and beer selections. Every time I do, I have a great chat with the employees, who are all very friendly and helpful, and leave with a smile on my face. One time there was someone behind the counter who started to berate the employee ringing me up. It was so rude, it could have waited until I was done buying my booze, and he just seemed so aggressive and had no awareness of how he was acting. He left, and I asked the employee who that was. "The owner..." It was almost enough to make me stay far away from this place, but alas - I love the wine and I really love the staff. After reading an employee who took his own life in the store, and how the owner handled it, I will not be coming back.
For beer, this is likely a great place to go. For wine, do not bother. Despite having a fairly large collection of wine, with signs recommending the buyer to try something outside of the standard varietal, NONE of the staff know anything about wine. I have been three different evenings, with different staff each time. All five staff I encountered answered my "I'd like a couple recommendations on some wine" with "Well, I do not know the wine. But if you'd like beer, I can help you out!". The last guy even said that their staff primarily works with beers and are not trained in wines at all. I'd recommend heading over the the Grand Market to the wine shop there. He's ready for suggestions and knows his stuff.
I will never set foot in this place again. I was brought there by a friend who thought that my organization would enjoy a wine tasting. He pointed out the owner and when I approached and asked if he was in fact the owner, I was asked "Why?". I said I wanted to say Hello. He said "You can say Hello without knowing if I'm the owner." WOW. My friend told him that I am executive director of a chamber of commerce and the owner begins to tell me that they don't join any chambers of commerce. "I wasn't asking you to, I was brought here because my friend thought it'd be a nice place to have an event." At that point his attitude changes and he offers me his card. No, that's okay, I'll look at another space.
Cute, friendly little beer and wine shop with a nice (albeit limited in selection) tasting bar in the back. You can customize flights with any of the wines they have available, which is nice. I haven't ever been there for any of their events, but it seems like they have quite a few events, and I would check one out if I ever heard about one and was in the area. The staff is friendly, but not necessarily the most knowledgable wine staff I have ever seen. For that, there are plenty of places in LA with better selections and more knowledgable staff (K&L, Wine House, Wine Expo). But for what it is, BUZZ is a cute little place to stop in and have a drink or two before/after dinner or an event downtown.
Buzz Wine Beer Shop is a nice place with a decent selection on craft beer and wine. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They will occasionally host tastings. I attended a tasting for the Coney Island Brewing Company. For about $8 or $10 I got about five 4 oz tasters accompanied by their homemade potato chips. These chips were outstanding, the beer was also good. They even gave us a free Coney Island Brewing Company pint glass. This place has a nice selection of beers. This is one of the few places where I could find one of my favorite pumpkin beers; Shipyard Smashed Pumpkin. They offer free use of their beer and wine chiller with purchase. This will get your bottle ice cold in minutes.
Small Dog, Big Bite For how much square footage this place has, it really does utilize its space well. Although I cannot speak to the wine selection, I can definitely tell you I have never seen such a greater bottled craft beer selection in LA (yes, even better than BevMo). They have an area with a huge selection of single craft bombers from Belgium and Germany. New to beer? All good. Each beer, similar to Bevmo, has a short description of where it's from, how much alcohol content and just a brief background about the beer on the tab so that you can navigate your way through the craze. Start slow and be aware of ABV! Some can get as high as 19%. Yum.
I recently visited BUZZ wine beer bottleshop & bar with a group of friends, and I was thoroughly impressed by the exceptional service, top-notch quality, and great value. The knowledgeable staff guided us through an extensive beer selection, ensuring we found the perfect brew to suit our tastes. The quality of the beers was outstanding, and the prices were reasonable. A fantastic place for beer enthusiasts!

GREAT staff! Very knowledgeable and friendly and enthusiastic about craft beers and specialty wines. An oasis in the DTLA concrete jungle. The 16-taps at the bar are always a treat and the Thursday and Friday tastings can be a hoot (especially when the distributors or rep.'s show-up to give away swag and wax poetic about their particular offerings). My favorite current beer options are Barley Forge's "Patsy" and Bell's "Two Hearted Ale". But, things change their a lot. So when you see your favorite beer or wine, buy more than one (it may not be there the next time you go).
Amazing Beer selection!, from classic bottles of craft beer (ex.Scrimshaw, Racer 5, Briney Melon GOSE) to the extremely rare (ex. Cantillon, 3 fonteinen, Mikkeller) Every member of its staff has a palate of their own, which makes your buying experience better every visit. Was told to try a beer outside my comfort zone and now i cant stop trying something new. The wine is as well unique, I love the descriptions on every bottle almost gives each item in the store a personality of its own.
Edit: Decent selection. Recently, the staff have been very dismissive to the point of being rude. The bar is no longer open. I walked in today and the young kid looked at me then looked back at his phone. He has done this another time I went in for beer. After greeting a number of times with NO response, the other person confirmed that the bar is closed then immediately went back to his phone. This was once a nice place to grab beer Downtown, but now I would recommend going elsewhere
Nice little beer/wine shop in the old bank district of DTLA. A fan of ciders, I found an apricot from the old country (England). I have my eye on a Saison collaboration - a reason for a return. Also, stop by on a Thursday/Friday for beer/wine flights. I participated in the Coney Island flight night - 6 tasters for $12...good deal! Plus, they provided free potato chips and mini bagel. Who knew, bagels and beer actually do go together...
I thought I knew all about beer when I came in here but I was greatly humbled. I was only familiar with domestic craft but 2/3 of their cold case was filled with beers I have never even seen; from Belgium to countries that I didn't even know to have a beer scene, my mind was overwhelmed. The selection, quality, helpful and knowledgeable beer geeks, and the ability to drink in-store are why I come here and why you should as well.
I went in to check out the tasting bar, as I had bought a book at The Last Bookstore (across the street) and was going to hang out but the tasting area is closed (and did not look like it would be open anytime soon) but as others have noted, a nice selection of wine and beer to go - I hope they get the bar area open as that would be a perfect place to stay a bit and read a book one purchased from across the street.
We stopped at this wine store and had a sampling session. They got the best wine out of the ones that we sampled on the strip. We ended up biting the bullet and buying six special bottles because my wife and I couldn't make up our minds on what we wanted best. I would recommend this to someone looking for a wine that's healthy. You've got to try the best peach wine I've ever tried, by far.
Buzz is a boutique/speciality liquor store in downtown. They do have a lot of the usual beers that you would find at a normal liquor store but what makes this place special is its variety of beer that you wouldn't normally see. It reminds of me a scaled down BevMo. The staff is really knowledgable if you are looking for something different, unique, or just want to try something new.
Excellent selection and great service. It may be a little pricey but totally worth it when you consider standing on line at RiteAid. I recommend the Uinta Hop Notch. Or really anything from this brewery. Stellar! Wine recommendations have all been spot on. Tell them what you like and they deliver what you need! Being a former wine maven myself I can tell you they know what's up.
Without a mistake, the greatest wine tasting and drinking business in the world! And it's doubtful that you'll depart with at least one beer in your hand. The crew is both professional and kind. You'll have to watch the wine being poured as well! I will undoubtedly return on my future vacation, and I strongly recommend this wine shop!
It's a shame people are quick to judge, none of those people know what happened, they weren't there, simple as that. Basing your opinion on some article you read online and taking it as fact only shows just how intelligent you are. It'd a tragedy that this happened, but focusing anger on the shop isn't going to fix anything.
I was staying downtown and found some really excellent local beer here to take back to my hotel room. I liked the vibe so much I decided to stay and have one at the tasting bar as well. Employees were really helpful and kind too. I would definitely seek out this spot if you're downtown and looking for high quality beer.
My partner and I celebrated our anniversary at this wonderful wine shop in our town. We enjoyed drinking wine when we were talking to each other. We love the place because it was so stylish and relaxing. We thanked the workers for being courteous and kind. Yeah, major thanks! Very highly recommended to everyone!
It is our yearly routine to have our wedding anniversary date here. Because the place was very romantic and they offer an array of wines. They may not the cheapest, but very reasonable, though. They gave us a complimentary two glasses of wine every time we were here. This is our favorite place in the city!
Scammers, I asked for cheap tequila. Walked out and looked at receipt and they charged me 60$s for a bottle. I walked back in and asked to exchange it and they wouldn't. Literally wanted a bottle for same price if they won't give me my money back. Horrible customer service. Way over priced.
I was in LA for work for a week and I loved passing by this place every evening on my way back. I got a different beer every evening, which were all great, and someone from the staff advised me on two great bottles of wine from local producers in California. Super helpful and friendly!
Buzz has a nice selection of wine and beer. Customer service is friendly and knowledgeable. There is a bar in the back that serves beer on tap but charges an 8 dollar corkage fee after you buy a wine from the shop area. It's a neat addition to downtown Los Angeles.
Yay for Buzz! They had an epic selection of ciders. This isn't something I have been able to find easily. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff as well. Movie playing on rhe projector and fun atmosphere to sit down and drink your much labored decision of a bottle.
You can find some great priced craft beer and ipa's here, they have a bar area you can sit and chill at till 2am nightly ... you can drink any beer you buy in the store in the bar area which is really neat or in nights the bar is open they have draft options!
I recently hosted a beer-tasting event and decided to go with a selection of craft beers from a local brewery. The service I received was impeccable - the staff was knowledgeable and helped me choose a fantastic variety of beers to suit all
Great wine, chill staff, been here a few times now and really enjoy it. Not very big, and lots of windows for ppl watching if you enjoy that but not super secluded if you want to be out of sight. Lots of bass here too, so I hope u enjoy that
My visit to BUZZ wine beer bottleshop & bar exceeded all expectations. The service was prompt and friendly, and the staff's knowledge of the beer selection was commendable. The quality of the beers on offer was superb, with a wide variety
First time visit. The cashier was unfriendly. I wanted to pay with half card, half cash. The cashier charged me double but I didn't notice until I checked my bank statement. Beware.

This place would get a 4 star review if it treated it's employees a Bit better. They have a great selection of beer, but their wine is a bit on the novice side. However they have great music playlist and a really chill bar area.
On a beautiful afternoon this week, my husband and I were walking with our sons through the area when we saw a wine tasting sign. As we posed questions about the wines and then did a tasting, Alexa was extremely accommodating.
This week, when we saw a sign for wine tastings, my husband and I walked through the area with our sons on a lovely afternoon. Alexa was surprisingly accommodating as we asked questions about the wines and then did a tasting.
Legit picks for beer. They know their stuff and were very helpful with recommendations. Will come back again even though they do charge a bit of a premium over average market prices. A diamond in the rough indeed.
If you love craft beer you definitely got to check this place out. Many beer options and the best part is if you wanna drink it in there you can they also have a bar with fantastic choices of beer to choose from.
Didn't see the spirits I was looking for; definitely on the pricey side but the spirits seemed to be priced for what you get. If you're looking for off brand or bottom shelf spirits, try Rite-Aid or CVS instead.
If you want a slice of the Island, come here for drinks only (how do they pay their rent?). But the mai tai's and pineapple floaters are thinking's of another land. Bring your hula and get your brain freeze on.
Glad they've survived the recent troubles. Yes, it's expensive, but the selection is thoughtfully curated. I like to treat myself once a month or so and try a new liquor I've not had before.
I love this place. A cool lowkey bar in the back of the liquor store to hang with friends, kick back or just to grab a beer and get work done BTW Alfonso is your go to wine connoisseur!
Needed to pick up a few beers for game day. Beer is over priced at 12.50 a six pack. Nothing too rare here either. Unimpressed could find similar stuff at whole foods or bevmo.
Really nice place. The layout makes it easy to find whatever you're looking for. The employee was extremely nice as well. The prices didn't seem bad at all either.
Got to try some tap beer and purchased a canned beer as well. Cool spot, the employees are dope, and there’s places to sit and hang out. Enjoyed this place.
The employee with the vest on was so helpful. The Rosé he recommended to me and my friend was delicious! So glad we stopped in during our stay in La :)
Alfonso was very helpful in helping to select a wine for us to take to dinner. We returned after dinner to have one glass before ending our evening.
Cool place, tables & drafts in the back, bottles & cans up front which you can purchase and open in the back and watch some games. Decent selection.
Guy behind the counter was proactive and helpful in choosing a couple of bottles. Hit the notes I was looking for. The Slovenian was great. Thanks!
They have an awesome selection and wicked cool staff. Bar scene is unique and always a good time. Like rare wines? Check out the crazy selection! D
Good selection and the staff is very helpful. Picked up a really nice burgundy for dinner, will definitely go back for my next bottle of wine.
Great bottle shop with a wide selection, especially when it comes to wine. Frankie was super helpful. Would definitely recommend stopping in!
great spot, awesome beers, wines ive never even heard of! lol but seriously the bar in the back is the best thing and the staff is cute too;)
Interesting beer and wine store in Downtown LA. The beer selection is a bit bland, but the wine is extensive. There is also a tasting area.
Great selection, knowledgeable and communicative staff, recommended what turned out to be the perfect bottle based on what I liked
If you're going to tout yourself as a beer and wine place, than management and staff should actually KNOW about beer and wine.
Great place to buy beer and wine. Big beer selection in the cooler that you can purchase and consume at the bar in the back.
Was closed at midnight instead of 1.30 as mentioned on here. Please update your timings so you avoid wasting peoples time
It's pretty good it's more for the younger generation but it is a good place to go it just might be your Cup of Tea !!!
Cute place, but the sign says they're open until 2am every day, and they're not. I came at 12:30 and they were closed.
Nice selection of beers and ales! Even has a bar area to sit and enjoy your purchase! Workers are very knowledgeable!
They always have different types of varieties for beer, wine and liquor. My favorite place to shop in downtown LA
Didn’t have my beer but they told me to hit weird beers down the street. Thank you! They had my gluten free beer
Great selections, friendly staff. Hard to find a craft beer store that sells pbr, and that's why you get 5 stars
Extremely laid back bottle shop. Nice selection. You can buy by the bottle and drink in their little bar area.
Great selection of beer lots of imported beer and awesome wine. Good place to try beer's... …
Their variety of beverages are always great and I love that they can chill your bottle of wine in 5 minutes!
Great selection of beer, but most beers are overpriced. The tastings every Friday are fantastic and varied.
Surprised to find a taproom in the back with some excellent beers pouring! You can open a bottle there too.
Make sure your co-worker doesn't kill themselves here. Management will force you to finish off your shift.
Really good selection of craft beer and wine. Solid selection in their tap room. Staff were very helpful.
Terrible manager. Yakuza like prices. Closes early for no reason. Avoid. Got to Jasons or Chatman market!
♡ their champagne...delicious and ♡ to stop by after Church for a glass of bubbly! Ty Jesus. Amen. ♡♡♡
Last chance location they serving till 2am so run walk drive bird uber Lyft whatever you gotta do lol
Helpful staff, they know their stuff when it comes to alcohol

Very helpful staff that really know their stuff in regards to pairing wines with various foods
Pricey but great collection of beer and wine. Only place open till 2am in this side of town.
No corkage fee when buying bottles or cans makes this a great place to try lots of beers.
They have Mountain Valley spring water! Saved my life no joke. Employees are cool af too.
This place is great for downtown LA! Great selections and their staff are super helpful.
stayed open the same day an employee committed suicide . disgusting labor practices.
This was given to me as a gift and now I am buying them for myself. Good Selection!!
The app says they stay open until 1:00 but im here it's 10:00 and they r closed.
Alfonso! INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE with him and his staff during the LA Art Walk!!!!
Cool spot with large selection and you can drink your hooch right there
The three greats 1 great location 2 great atmosphere and 3 great prices
Good spot to keep warm but the staff was a bit impersonable tonight.
Our first time BUZZ'd. Thanks Dave for a beautiful flight selection.
quick access to quality wines and beers if you're stuck in d town.
Good selection of liquor in the heart of DTLA's party district!
Our favorite beer market! With a great little bar area in back
Superb staff and an amazing staff. I will definitely be back.
Great selection of wines and beers, and super cool staff.
Amazing wine and beer selection. Staff is super helpful
Un buen lugar lo unico que abren muy tarde asta las 12
Decent selection of craft beers, etc. Pleasant staff.
