I contacted BV Electric about uninstalling three light fixtures and installing one new one, along with replacing the switches and switch plates in my apartment. They were very quick to respond and after showing exact pictures of every single item (both the things that needed replacing AND the items that would replace them), we agreed that their staff would arrive prepared to do both jobs and would bring the replacement switches and switch plates. This was all accomplished via email and confirmed. I should note that I did ask for an estimate during our email conversation and never got a response. It was not cool that they did not respond to that question, but it was my mistake not to press for an answer (and one I came to regret). The workers arrived roughly on time but knew nothing about the switches and switch plates, and had nothing with them to even consider this part of the job. They then spent an hour uninstalling three light fixtures. And then...spent the next hour installing the new light fixture incorrectly three times, despite having both photos and instructions with clear illustrations of what the finished fixture should look like. The first time was remarkably, laughably wrong. The second time was equally ludicrously wrong. And the third time was close but still not right. I decided not to risk a fourth time and instead contacted the manufacturer who confirmed that the light was not correct. I have a new service provider coming to finish the installation. Then came the bill: $800 for two hours of work, including an hour of installing a light fixture wrong three times. To say I was shocked is an understatement. I mean, if the fixture had been installed correctly I still would have been shocked but now...paying for workers to screw up repeatedly feels really UGH. I reached out to BV Electric via email to share my disappointment at the lack of preparation, the fact that the job was still incorrect, and the stunning price tag for the work. They responded immediately, saying they would get back to me the next day. That was more than two weeks ago and they've never replied - I did follow up twice, but nothing came from them. I paid the bill and chalked it up as a lesson learned. The workers themselves were pleasant and tidy. Very disappointing experience from BV Electric and I cannot recommend them.

I found BV Electric in the Diamond Certified Directory. Prior to this, I had contacted a company on Yelp, who never got back to me after I sent pictures, and 2 general contractors who said they would call me back once their schedules cleared and it was crickets, thereafter. My experience with BV Electric is 5 stars from start to finish. The initial appointment to estimate the work couldn't have gone better. Samuel arrived right on time, in fact, he was probably a few minutes early. I am new to home maintenance and repair, so home projects like this are quite daunting. He walked with me around the house wearing a face mask in observance of COVID safety and holding an iPad, taking care to understand my needs and take reference photos. I wanted to upgrade my electrical panel and move its location upstairs from the garage level, along with adding outlets around the house. After the appointment, I immediately received the quote for the work. Everything is digital and the work is itemized. I simply approved the quote and I get scheduled in within the week. There is no hassle to play phone tag and wait for a contractor to get back to you. Day 1 of the work, there were 4 guys on the job who were very friendly and just got right to business. I was so amazed how much progress they made on the first day. I was only without electricity for about 4 hours while the core work happened and by the end of the day everything was back on! Along the way I wanted a few more things done, which was easy to do since I just received a new quote for the additional work and approved it digitally. In all, it was about 4 days for all the work and the crew of guys just cleaned up and took care of my place as if it was their home. Thank you, Armando, Jaime, and Yonny for leading a great team. If you are looking for knowledgeable electricians who have years of experience, are willing to explain to you what and how they are doing the work, and have an eye for detail so you don’t have to worry about a thing - then BV Electric is the perfect choice! I’m really happy with the work and I know that if I ever have an electrical issue, they’ll be there to help me via an email, text or call. The communication tools are seamless.

We used BV Electric for two major projects on our new house - upgrading the electrical service, and rewiring all the outlets (which still had the original knob and tube wiring). From the beginning, they were very professional - they gave reasonable quotes, and were happy to break down and explain the costs when asked. For the electrical upgrade, they were very fast - barely a week from the initial quote they had a full team around, and within a few days we had a new main panel and subpanel connected - it was a fairly big job due to needing to run conduit through the length of the house to connect the panels, but they quickly completed the work to a high standard, and minimized the electrical outage to a few hours. Based on the good experience we had, we continued to use BV electric for the rewiring. They took just over a week to do the whole house, and we're really happy with the end result - wiring a separate circuit for each room (in some cases multiple), GFCI outlets in the kitchen, and all new wiring up to code. They did need to cut some large holes in the walls in some places, but they recommended a great dry wall / painter who restored everything so well you'd never even know that any work was done! All of BV Electric's work was up to code and approved by the city inspector with no problems. We did have some major issues with PG&E due to the meter location (there was no location that fit all of their criteria, given the age of the house and neighborhood), and we spent nearly a year arguing back and forth with them. In the end, PG&E demanded the meter to be moved, and BV Electric came in and spent another full day doing all the requested changes at no extra cost. I was impressed that they followed through on their commitment to complete all their work to code, even through the unreasonable demands and lengthy process of dealing with PG&E. Miro was very transparent throughout the whole process, and the whole team was a delight to work with. They are really conscientious in doing high quality work, and I would highly recommend them!

I thought long and hard before posting negative comments. I clearly sent pictures of the two light fixtures and the ceiling medallions I wanted installed ahead of the job. I was told that one person was arriving and instead two people arrived so I paid double to install two light fixtures for a total of $318. But the worst part for me was the fact that I was told they couldn’t install the medallions because I didn’t have long enough screws… The reason I hired an electrician was so that I could be told either I needed to have long screws ahead of the job or that they would have at least had the screws to accommodate the job since I had sent pictures ahead of time. Do electricians not show up with even screws anymore? So this was very frustrating. In addition, I showed them some under the cabinet lights that we’re not working, already hardwired, and they couldn’t give me an estimate of what the cost would be to replace them because they said they were not fixable. They said they had to call their manager to come and give me an estimate. I guess the overall experience made me feel like it was just about getting the money and not keeping me as part of their customer base. November 15, 2021 Update: On November 8th, Samuel Castillo of BV electric came out to personally apologize and make things right. I decided to give them another chance and Rigo of BV electric came out to install undercabinet lights on November 15th and did an excellent and clean job. He was personable and efficient and BV stuck to their estimate. I would definitely have Rigo come out to the house again. So in conclusion, I would use BV electric for future jobs because they were responsive when things went wrong the first time and they made it right and that is very appreciated.

This company wasted 3 days of my time and then refused to give an estimate. Yesterday they cancelled twice. At noon they said they were running late and said they'd be here at 2:30 and at 2:30 rescheduled for today. Then today I was waiting for them to show up and ten minutes before the appointment time I got an email stating that they were not going to show up, they didn't even have the respect to call or text me to let me know they wouldn't be showing up. They cancelled because they said the job was so complicated that the city inspector needed to be on site for the estimate, in order to "ensure everything is done properly" and at my expense. If you can't even give an estimate without the oversight of an inspector to help you then I believe they must just not know how to do the job. No other company I got an estimate from wanted an inspector there in order to give an estimate. After all the wasted time and missed appointments I believe they just don't have the knowledge for the job. I no longer trust this company and neither should you. Look elsewhere.

I hired BV Electric to install several outlets in my kitchen. The house is very old, so there was additional work necessary in order to bring things up to code, which drove the price higher than I initially expected. They were very upfront about the work scope and the pricing, so I knew what I was in for. They were very punctual and responsive throughout the entire contract and the work was done very well, i.e. everything works as expected. However, I am taking off 1 star due to their failure to limit the spread of dust from their work. Given the amount of dust the workers likely knew they would generate while cutting through the wall, I would have expected them to put up barriers to the rest of the house as well as cover cabinets and appliances in the kitchen. But having only covered the kitchen floor, nearly every surface in my ENTIRE house was covered in dust. Luckily, I had just recently moved into the house and there isn't much furniture, but this level of dust throughout my home was a major annoyance and felt very unacceptable.

BV replaced our main electrical panel and subpanel. Everything, from the initial consult to the installation to the follow-up with the city inspector has been flawless. They are professional, responsive, and always on time. Communication via email and text was clear and efficient, and they have been extremely helpful facilitating our PG&E application to upgrade our electric service. The owner, Miro, and his son, Stefan, are great to work with; they answered all our questions and were very transparent about the whole process. The office side of BV has also been a pleasure to work with. Dusan and Ena have been extremely helpful and have always responded quickly and with helpful information to my inquiries. Armando's team worked efficiently, did a great job on the installation, and left the work site spotless. From start to finish, my wife and I have been extremely happy we hired BV. On top of the great work that they do, Miro and the whole BV crew seem like good people, too. :-)

They were responsive and fixed my problem. The only reason that I’m giving an average review is that they quoted me an hourly rate per electrician. Surprisingly, two electricians showed up and it was not necessary to have two electricians fix my problem. They were at my home for an hour. I wasn’t expecting to pay an hourly rate for two electricians so I wish the company told me ahead of time that they always send two electricians and quoted me a total cost per hour for two electricians, not an hourly cost per electrician when I assumed that meant I was paying for one electrician to come to rewire my electrical problem. So I basically paid for an hour’s time of an extra electrician who seemed to shadow the main guy. So I felt like I paid double than what I expected. The company needs to set clearer expectations. But at the end of day, I appreciated that the problem was fixed.

I have had 2 projects done by BV electric in last year. The first time they installed underground wiring to my garage for an EV and recently they installed an electrical panel and upgraded my service to 200A. The field manager Sam Castillo is fantastic! He is extremely knowledgable, patient, and reasonable. His team (Namanja for the underground cables and Jonny and crew for the panel) are professional, courteous, and clean. Jonny and his team did a lot of work removing older indoor panels, rewiring, etc. and I would highly recommend them. They were punctual, prepared, and cleaned up after themselves. So why the 4 stars - the front office at BV electric is a bit clueless. They want to only communicate by email (even though they send texts for scheduling etc.) and are often not sure what the field team is doing or supposed to do.

Rigoberto and Gustavo, and the entire team at BV Electric are true professionals. From my first inquiry online to the estimate to the service date. communication was timely and great, the service was outstanding, and the attention to detail like none other. Rigo and the team helped me upgrade my electric to be able to run a dishwasher in my kitchen. They also ran wires so I could install a Nest Learning Thermostat and a Nest Video doorbell. They were careful with the holes they had to make in walls, etc. and expertly hung everything measuring with a tape measure to make sure things were even. I enjoyed chatting with the guys about traveling while they worked. BV Electric will get all future electric jobs at my house. Thanks, team!

Your response to my initial email was really fast, and easily set up the estimate appointment. Jaime arrived on the dot, did a very knowledgeable evaluation of my electrical problems, both big and small, and provided a variety of possible solutions, with very fair estimates of the work for each. When I chose the specific jobs I wanted, he surprised me by saying he could go get the materials and return to do the job that day! And so he did, efficiently, neatly (even used a drop cloth,) and expertly. He had listened to my concerns, let me know the possibilities (or not,) and then returned and did the whole job exactly as promised and exactly for the estimated price. With service this excellent, I highly recommend BV Electric!

Rigo and his team provided excellent electrical service to our kitchen remodel. They were considerate when they had to cut out large parts of our wall, by making straight cuts, making it easier for our painters to come in and add new dry wall. They were also very considerate of cleaning up afterwards. Rigo was kind enough to speak over the phone, with our backsplash installers, so they understood how to tile/grout around the new electrical wires. We absolutely love our new under the cabinet outlets and LED lights! It really showcases our new backsplash! Thank you Rigo and team! Always a pleasure working with someone who loves their job.

Jaime and Felix replaced all of our smoke / carbon monoxide detectors. They were on time, polite and courteous, very professional (used a drop sheet to catch any dust from drilling etc). They were very patient in explaining the operation of the detectors and testing them for us. Scheduling the appointment was easy too: within 30 minutes of emailing we had agreed on a time which was convenient to my husband and I. We were really pleased with our overall experience, and we feel so much better about our safety in our house. Highly recommend this business and Jaime and Felix!!

The worst. The work was Not done in accordance with PG&E, they did not complete any of the required paperwork. They didn't call PG&E back for over a month and we found out with repeated cals to the utility that PG&E had canceled the project. We had to hire another contractor just to do a basic utility drawing. We have had a 10x3x3 open trench in front of our house (which they were not supposed to dig) for 7 months. They moved our internal panel and didn't label it. We want to avoid legal action, but we may have no choice.

BV has extensively rewired our house, fixing numerous code violations that were present when we bought it, as well as finding things like live unterminated wires left inside the walls in multiple places. They've dealt with PG&E being slow and unresponsive and have made our house much safer and more pleasant to live in. After a year in the house we have more electrical work we want done and we are going back to them for it, which is about the best thing you can say for a trades company.

I used BV twice and referred them to my new neighbors. There work was excellent BUT Two things. They moved the charger from one house to another but did not move the mount. And, more importantly, the person who came to measure the distance of the cable in the new residence, did not measure correctly and the workers had to wait over an hour for enough cable to be delivered so they could finish the job. A waste of both their and my tome.

BV Electric provided EXCELLENT service to complete a partial rewiring of an old house. They are very professional, clean, responsive, always on time. What I liked the most was their reasonableness in adjusting the project's cost as various change orders added and subtracted elements from the original scope of work. I have used several contractors (of various trades, including electrical) in the past. BV Electric is the best one!

I had a great experience with BV electric. They replied promptly to my tricky request of skim coated ceilings and had a knowledgeable discussion with our building engineer to get the suggested work approved. They installed new light fixtures with ease and added new wire mold to areas which didn’t have a junction box. They completed the work very quickly and were the ultimate professionals. Along with the repair, I was given a good education on what and how our particular set up worked and what we needed to improve. Thermostat replacement and trouble shooting overloading of some circuits with worrisome flickering lights. Jaime was spectacular. Showed up on time, and took a methodical approach to figuring out where the problem was, and then took the time to walk us through it, and step by step fix it. He was genuinely excited when one problem after another was solved. Super efficient, trustworthy. Would recommend highly to anyone.

Lucas and Francisco did a great job with the new outlet installation. They added a GFCI outlet to my master bathroom. The installation was quick, professional and clean. The invoice price matched the estimate. I chose BV electric because they were willing to do an in-person estimate instead of a virtual consultation. Rigoberto did my in-person estimate and answered all of my questions. I would recommend BV electric.

I've used BV for electrical jobs around my house on at least four different occasions, and I'll continue to call them in the future for a few simple reasons: - They are always timely; they always show up when they say they will, sometimes they are even able to start work sooner than promised - Every employee who has come over has been friendly, professional, and very respectful of our space - They do excellent work

On the day of the electrical visit I received a courtesy call 30 minutes before arrival. Upon arrival the team showed up and was very friendly, respectful of my property, and took a few minutes to allow me to explain my issue before getting started. After viewing the problem areas the team was able to diagnose the problem and get started right away. The issue I was having was completely resolved during this visit.

I had BV replace an electric panel heater. They did a good job communicating and providing an estimate. Their charge seemed high. But the main reason I am giving them a below average rating is because their installer refused to take away the old heater. He gave me some BS song and dance about how it "would not fit in his van." His van had a ROOF RACK so obviously he was lying. I would not recommend BV.

They Installed an electric range circuit for us and did a related upgrade to the panel. It was a remarkably good experience. They were the lowest bid by far. They came on time, worked efficiently and accurately, they were pleasant to deal with, and they cleaned up after themselves. It was the best experience we have ever had with a local contractor. Recommend without reservation.

They replaced our old 7 unit intercom system with a new one. We are happy with the results. This should have been a 1 day job but they scheduled the work before they had all the parts required. We wanted to add a key-pad operated gate opening option, but they would not provide us with any information of the unit they wanted to use so we had to cancel that part of the project.

Jose and Yonny were life savers. They pinpointed our issues quickly and knew exactly what needed to be done. Other companies failed to find the problem and wanted to charge us exorbitant amounts for unnecessary fixes. BV was the right choice and will be our go to for all electrical needs. The guys who do the work are always friendly, knowledgeable and tidy. It would be nice if the person who does the estimate initially would show up at the site at the time the work is done. Have hired BV 2x and both times the work team that showed up to do the work didn't include the person I had had contact with previously. It creates a little confusion at the job start.

We needed our circuit box replaced during the pandemic. They came out promptly to give us a quote. They run a tight ship, and the folks seem on top of getting back to the customers quickly. Unfortunately, their quote was a lot higher than the electrician we ended up going with, but I did appreciate their communication.

When BV Electric failed to show up on time, they blamed me, the customer for not understanding that when they say "8am" they truly mean "10am". I have a hard time to work with a company which, when it makes a mistake, blames the customer. What if they break something in my house? Would this automatically be my fault.

Multiple people showed up for my appointment at multiple wrong times in one day. They charged me just to run a 15 min diagnostic and left a mess on the floor where they did their testing. Not awesome. On a positive note, the crew who conducted the appointment was kind and personable - that’s worth 2 stars I suppose.

They came on time, cleaned up after the job was done. (The Job: Additional Light Fixtures in the Garage and Laundry Area, relocating one of the light fixtures and switching the fluorescent lights into LED Tube Lights). Milos, Carlos and Omar did a great job. I know who to call next time when I need an electrician.

Couldn’t ask for better—their bid came in at almost $2500 less than another electrician we spoke with, are professional, timely, quick at their work, and easy and pleasant to interact with. The work seems great to my untrained eye, and they got a permit and scheduled an inspection with the city, which is upcoming.

I had used them 3 years ago for the original installation of my EV wall charger. The unit died, so I received a new one under warranty, and they came to replace the old one. The new one works fine, and they worked quickly and efficiently for a reasonable price. A+

Appointments must be made by email and not by phone or by electrician. BV is responsive to requests and was able to schedule same day service, when the first fix was not complete. The electricians all very nice and they did not bill me for the 2nd visit.
