Absolutely terrible (and quite insulting) experience- will not be returning. The only ID they accept is a license or passport. My partner and I (both 21), are waiting for our full licenses in the mail (have paper ones currently). On two seperate occasions (two seperate employees) we were both not allowed to purchase our alcohol despite both providing ID including defence id, student IDs from multiple institutes, bank cards, DVA card, Medicare, boat license, fishing licenses, swim teacher license, scuba licenses, work safe cards, WWCC and our paper licenses. As if this wasn’t enough we still were denied the sale. Multiple of these had photos of us, our date of birth and our full names - what you would think classified as enough photo ID. Absolutely ridiculous that the employees could not use common sense.

I was there to buy a 6 pack of my fav brand of beer but once i got to the check out counter I found out that the sales dude manning the payment desk to be a very rude and unprofessional one. God knows who appointed him or maybe bws has a very weak HR acquisition process. Although I had shown him my Uni ID which clearly stated my age, which is 32 at present, he turned me and my friend away saying we'd need a local ID or passport to buy booze from that establishment. This incident occured around 7.00-7.30 pm when we were just back from our work. I hated it because it was a Saturday and I just wanted to have a couple of takeaway beers and have a good time but alas the vibe was killed.

This store has literally got literally an insane girl at the counter who ALWAYS asks my Passport as id! I show her my Drivers licence which is Indian licence & it is an identified identity card even in Australia which is Valid! Also, I’m 85 born, 34 years old doctor, & i got my bottle of wine yesterday but whenever i go to buy & this lady is standing it’s only her who asks me an ID amongst all other 10 customers!! Just coz i look young does NOT mean I’ll carry my Passport everywhere! To that lady- Good luck in checking EVERYONE’s Id & stop being a racist !

I live in the Huon and I now drive to Hobart to go here. The store has been given a refresh, it's got a new owner, it's laid out in a really inviting and logical way. The new owner is an absolute delight; I've been here a couple of times now and they always have really good specials; I've priced matched with Dan Murphys and they're much cheaper. Highly recommend.

Great service and great range. I had ordered online and it was a breeze to pick up. Was asked if I wanted the beer cold which I hadn't specially asked for and it was no problem for the staff member to swap it over and help me out to my car.

They have a better selection of craft beer than some other BWS stores (each store can customise their stock, apparently). Good selection of Tassie wines too. Often has clearance items in a trolley and other specials. Parking is easy.

The worst experience I have ever had in a liquor shop. Employees have no customer service skills, nor they have manners. From now on, I will be purchasing from friendlier retailers such as Cellarbrations at Sandy Bay.

Great staff and selection here. I was served by John who was super friendly, walked me through all the local beers and then had a pretty good chat. Would definitly recomend coming here for your alcohol!

Good specials, easy to get to, helpful staff (which is unexpected for a chain type store). Wine selection can be limited for Tasmanian and other premium wines but stock a wide range otherwise.

Great range of beer, wine and spirits. Always have a great line of specials. Customer service isn't bad at all and the shop always looks to be nice and clean!
