Beware "Free Initial Assessment"! I responded to the offer of a "Free Initial Assessment" on the website of the Hobart branch of Back in Motion. When booking online, I read the only small print I could find - the T&Cs - which state, "Your initial assessment with a qualified physiotherapist is free. Treatment following your assessment is charged at the cost of a standard consultation. Not valid with any other offers. Limit one per client. Not redeemable for cash or products. Available to new clients or existing clients presenting with a new injury." So far, so clear, right? Think again. This did not suggest to me that a "free" initial assessment actually means you effectively get half the initial session "free" - ie, a basic assessment and diagnosis (which in my case took 10 minutes) - but you then pay for the second half of the initial session, to the tune of a standard initial consultation. Yep - in other words, no discount at all! The T&C's seem to deliberately obfuscate, to get new clients in the door, and get their money. I was completely surprised when the receptionist charged me a full consultation fee, post-session - Me: "I thought this initial assessment was free, as per your website, my booking, etc etc?". Receptionist: "Oh... that actually means you get the first half of your session free, just to assess and diagnose your issue, at which point the physio is meant to tell you, "here's where you are free to leave, without any payment", OR if you choose to stay and receive further assessment/treatment beyond this point, you have to pay full fee" - did the physio not make that clear?" Me: "NO". Receptionist: "Whoops, sorry about that. I'll make sure the physio knows for next time. That will be full price today anyway. DO you want to book another appointment?" Needless to say, I don't. At no point did the physio make this point clear, not at the outset of the assessment, nor half way through, ie after the initial 10 minute, first part of the session (which was under half an hour in total, despite being charged for a full session). This is truly shabby client service - it is completely misleading, with no subsequent regard for client satisfaction. With so many excellent, client focussed physios in Hobart, I can only recommend you give Back in Motion a wide berth.
In a word..Wonderful! I had a frozen shoulder that hurt when I drove or used it to pick up things and especially if I raised it above shoulder level. I lived with it for a week or or three and then decided, I had to get it sorted. BIM fixed me before when I tore my shoulder muscles brush cutting, so I know how effective they are. The cost is worth it, trust me and not that expensive!
Hands down best physio, have an ongoing ankle and knee injury, booked in with caitlin mccormack and she has got to the main issue right away been living in pain for almost 10 years and 2 sessions with caitlin has made huge changes to my life. Such a wonderful person, she is a credit to the practice and the reception staff are always happy and bubbly.
I have been going to BIM for 4 months since having a joint injury. I hated exercise but am now looking forward to continuing strength training. I find BIM a good size and the people are great and encouraging. Jamie is a very supportive physio and has pushed me to continually improve.
Just wanted to say a massive thankyou to Meg for being so amazing! Meg was incredibly professional and knowledgeable, providing me with excellent care. I don't think I would have been able to get through the last couple of months without her! Thanks again Meg, you're the best.
Partner and I both saw Kaydee and she was absolutely amazing! Kaydee is knowledgeable, welcoming, and does a great job tailoring both our plans to our individual needs. It was the first time I've seen a physio and I am so glad to have lucked out with Kaydee!
I've only been to George Gavalas but he is the man to see! He has a wealth of knowledge and is extremely helpful in getting you on the right track. I'm very grateful for the way he has helped me. Good job Bob! …
I was unable to walk 50m without 7/10 pain in my knee. I had a consult with Lizzie and after treatment and strapping I commenced the 3 Capes walk the following day. I had no pain at all in my knee for the whole 4 day walk.
Great service. I saw Isobel for a sprained back and she has got me pain free. Friendly and professional. The practice is efficient and well run, never any delays and they even sent a reminder text the day before.
I have been seeing Hamish Anderson for various injuries since 2018. I keep going back because BIM offers everything you could ask for from a physio practice. I recommend him and BIM to everyone!
