Rude service from the young Indian guy with long black hair I went up to order with my friend he gave us no greeting he was very unenthusiastic, offered me no receipt some people actually may want a receipt he looked like he didnt want to be there just said what can I get you me and my friend felt like we had to greet him and we were the customers. The coffee we had was decent the pasties were hit and miss the savoury pasty was hard like a rock not fresh kept in the warmer for who knows how long my sweet pastry had fresh cream and fluffy pasty and was definitely very fresh. It was a while since I was at bakery on O'Connell. because of the poor and very unenthusiastic service/ borderline rude me and my friend received we will definitely not be back yes he may have been tired but it's just poor form. Edit. Me and my friend came in on Friday morning the 24th of November we were in the shop from 4:30am to 6am. I think we will give the O'Connell street bakery another chance but I really hope the young guy with the black long hair pony tail is not on shift because me and my friend feel that we will be given the same appaling treatment once again. And yes I think better training to the staff would be a great idea a gretting would have been nice and a napkin and just to be treated fairly just like everyone else.

I wouldn't give a 5 stars lightly but this bakery does seem like the best bakery in Adelaide. Late at night im sure you wont find anywhere in town that will serve you better quality food at these fair and reasonable prices. I tried their pie of the month and it was probably the best pie i have ever had. The pastry was very delicate and well made it was just a well made pie. The presentation and atmosphere was amazing. As soon as i got to the counter i was served straight away the person was very polite within 5 minutes i already had what i ordered. The staff do a good job the atmosphere must be related to the service it's cold enough for your hands to freeze and to feel a chill down to your bones it looks miserable at some food places in town you go down the street to north Adelaide and at this bakery everyone is smiling and laughing you can tell the food was good for so many reasons but value for money i don't think anywhere in town could beat this bakery. Out of many food places id rank this 1# in Adelaide for comfort food everyones tastes are gonna be different i feel my mood is lifted after eating food from here definitely a place to show friends.
I came here for lunch the other day with my family and I have to say this Bakery is amazing. The staff were so nice and friendly and their service was wonderful. The food was absolutely outstanding. There was so much to chose from including plenty of slices and desserts. We had the Beef Brisket and Jalapeño pie and the Roast Lamb pie and they were both delicious. The pies were hot, fresh and full of flavour. Have to say the best pies I’ve ever had. We also had a toasted falafel and croissant. They were both fresh and yummy. We then had Biscoff cheesecake and caramel slice. The sliced were a little under flavoured and the flavour was only just tasted, however they weren’t too rich which made them enjoyable and yummy. The bakery provided plenty of seating space and toilets. The toilets were clean and well maintained. Overall, the bakery was clean and tables and chair nicely set out and wiped down. The only thing I noticed whilst there was the floors to the seating areas were a bit messy with food/ crumbs from previous customers. Overall, this was an amazing place to eat and definitely recommend it. Definitely coming back when I journey back to Adelaide.
Coffee : Amazing Hot chocolate : Average (Cold) - very milky Price : Wise Service : Passable Variety : Amazing, lot of choice and options savoury, pastry, cakes and sweet Love the Orange Almond cake A bit disappointed with the muffin.. ordered double chocolate muffin, the staff gave us wrong muffin, asked the staff is this double choc muffin or other flavour? She said "yes it is.. just have different colour from different batch.." We bought 2 double choc muffin, 1 muffin so dark colour with lots of choc chips, another one really light colour with few choc chips. Clearly can see this is 2 different muffin. Taste also different, one u can tell its a choc flavour ♂️♂️♂️ So far OK experience just like you expected from ordinary bakery. Could be 4 or 5 star if the service more friendly, the food OK
Been coming here almost 6 months buying a sandwich for lunch pretty much every day of the week. Not cheap, but fresh and had been relatively consistent. Most recent stop, no wholemeal bread sandwiches, the entire cabinet was filled with sanwiches made with white bread. Said to the lady who served me "wow, what no wholemeal or multigrain? That's really weird." she agreed. When I asked if they could make me a wholemeal sandwich (they were still working at the sandwich station ). She said no "sorry, it's just what we have there."
Saturday afternoon and customers including this one, all enjoyed pleasant service from the staff. All display cases, refrigerated and heated, were full of Yumalicious goodies. I bought a Belgian Chocolate block cake. The photos show... 4 hours after buying it, and sharing it with friends over a cuppa, is what's left. I doubt it will last until Sunday night. Highly recommend this shop, it is open 27/7 also. Seating inside and outside. Great for catching up with buddies, or work colleagues.
The selection and quality is good - but what I'm really coming here to say is that the service is always so genuinely courteous, friendly and helpful! Just had to give kudos where it's due. So many places you go now the service is rude, surly, arrogant...well, life IS very busy and complicated and customer serving is a very taxing job...But here is a place that's super busy and the staff are very sweet. Oh and it's great coffee too! Thank you
I recommend the Bakery on O'connell. There are many pies and paisteries to choose from. The pies I've had there have always been very good and the golden gaytime cronut and pecan pie are also very good. There are outside and inside tables to enjoy your food. The opening hours are 24/7,so when you're passing through the city late at night it's a good place to stop for something to eat. The staff are friendly and the service is good.
We have been going to this bakery atleast once a week for the past 5 years This bakery will never keep you waiting no matter how busy it is Food is always the best especially the focaccias Prices are good All the workers are very friendly The best thing is its open 24 hours and there's still lots of hot food even at 2 in the morning I would recommend this bakery to anyone if you are driving past stopping in is a must do
Fantastic variety of bakery goods and sweets. . Open 24 hours with indoor and outdoor dining and takeaway available. Huge variety of cold refrigerated drinks as well as barrista Cafe available. Amazing friendly team Will definantly return. What a gem

Probably one of the best bakery’s I’ve ever been too. Came here late at night because it’s like a 24 hour place and had a satay chicken pie as it was recommended by a friend and man this was the best pie I have ever had. Also dropped by for a coffee and that was really good too. Seems like this is the place to be for a late night feed in Adelaide as it was busy and can see why. All in all would highly recommend!
Love the selection of food and great that it’s open 24 hours. Amazing for my late night cravings. Always gotten good desserts from here, love the Pecan pie! Most of the hot food we’ve had from here has been delicious but my friend wasn’t too happy with the kransky she got. Good indoor seating and table service. However, the young lady that served me last time was not overly friendly. Overall pretty good!
This bakery could be the best in Australia. On visiting today well after lunch time, the place was absolutely full. The range is fantastic, I left with a great pie, that tasted just great. Can understand why this place was packed out. The range of food is amazing, great visit with excellent service. Wished I lived a little closer as this would become my place of choice
The variety of pies including vegan and vegetarian is impressive. My husband always gets a pasty and says they make the best. I've tried a few of the vegetarian pies and they are delicious. There are also a huge rang of sweet cakes, pies and cheesecakes. I haven't tried many as the savoury pies leave me little room for a cake. The coffees are also good.
Always so busy, and for good reason! Coffee prepared perfectly, this time I had a lemon tart which was not as delicious as other ones I've had (Swedish Tarts or Bourke St. Bakery in Sydney for example). But the last time here I had a custard tart and it was incredible, likewise for the vanilla slice. Must return to try another sweet option.
Stumbled upon this place while driving through Adelaide and was presently surprised! The range of food and drink offered was incredible. Especially the multitude of vegan options. We bought a variety of items from toasties to pies and desserts. Everything was delicious. This place is also open 24/7? Crazy stuff. What more could you want?
I have been a regular customer, going there every Sunday for the past four years. Today one staff member was really unfriendly and rude. Perhaps she was having a bad day, but she does not need to be rude to customers. I was also overcharged and the food was cold, after being reheated, it was then charcoal burnt. Unfortunate.
Great food. But my family ordered 2 of the last specific weekly doughnut and we even mentioned we'd grab the last 2 before someone else did. Yet the lady who was serving us was distracted and the guy next to us had ordered one of them so we only got one to share between 3 people due to the server being slow and distracted.
Service and food was great as usual, plenty of vegan options, coffee is usually great as well but due to the warm weather I thought I'd get an iced latte instead. What a mistake, came in a small latte glass, asked for a double shot and it tasted so watery I couldn't even finish it. I'll stick to hot coffees from now on.
This was my first time visiting here. Never knew bout it until today Tuesday. I thought it was well presented and staff were friendly and the atmosphere was just amazing and tidy place too sit out side and eat on a nice day. I'll be back again soon. Yes I'll give you 5 stars oh plus the food was amazing. …
I can't believe that I've never been to this food paradise on O'Connell street until last week. I missed out on so much:( Just looking at the pastries and buns displayed made me so satisfied and was drooling the entire time. The bakery is open 24X7 (unsure of public holidays), so ideal place for midnight cravings!
We happened to stumble across this place during our stay in Adelaide, and so glad we did!! The food is SO good, very fairly priced, and the staff are friendly and super efficient. Heaps of different options to choose from and open 24 hours. Also thank you Alex for your 1am donut service, you were awesome!
Really nice place with an abundance of options for all kinds of stuff be it sandwiches, pastries, breads, coffee, juice, milk, shakes, smoothies, dessert it has all of it, prices are also relatively worth it for the fresh and yummy products. Comfy cozy ambience with the friendliest staff. Great find
Found this bakery during my Adelaide trip and absolutely loved the food here ! Tried the yogurt with fruits which was amazing ! The vegetarian rolls and pies were amazing too ! The staff here are amazing and the service was quite quick too ! The best part is this place is open 24 hours ! More
Possibly the best bakery in Adelaide. Amazing coffee, service and baked goods... BUT! I am still in a well of despair that the mushroom casserole pie was removed from the menu. Will it come back? The eggplant bolognese just doesn't fill the void that the mushroom casserole has left. PLEASE
Absolutely stunning menu. Wide variety of stuff from desserts, hot dogs ,burgers , wraps . I accidently walked in one day and now I got there few times a week. Highly recommended for family/kids . Beautiful dining area. Very quick service. Always freshly served . Delicious food. Love it.
This bakery shouldve won best pie OMG the beef brisket jalapeno cheese pie OmG taste buds in heaven,, the custard tart slice OMG nice texture an slightly eggy flavour I like more "eggy" flavour. Nice staff smiling good to see was a great experience thanks again BOC RGs Adam
Got my food, waiting for an Uber and what do I see? a hungry young fox out scavenging for whatever scraps he could get… after him chasing me for my pie for at least 5 mins., he had enough, and went to the bakery directly to put in his order… hope he’s ok… good times…
One of the best bakeries in Adelaide. Their range of savouries, sweets and baked goods is amazing, you are spoilt for choice upon browsing their selection. The staff have always been friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is very cosy and inviting.
Great vegan options 24/7! The biscoff donut is one of the best vegan donuts around. Very busy place but quick service. Accessibility wise there's a ramp into the store but manual pull open doors. Suitable height tables for indoor and outdoor dining.
The best bakery in Adelaide! They have an amazing selection of food and drinks, (too many to list here) that will make you want to come back again and again. Friendly staff and great service. I highly recommend visiting and see for yourself.
Want management to know what a fantastic team member you have with Fin. She was very helpful and patient when I was trying to decide what to purchase! she did not rush me and Fin has a lovely, friendly nature and is an asset to your team.
So many yummy fresh tasty creative home made cakes and savoury wares to choose from all from friendly staff ready to serve customers even when there's a rush, there's heaps staff on hand and they're open 24hours 7days as well!!!!!!!
Range of great products. Best Pies in Adelaide. Great friendly service and staff. Chilled, relaxed atmosphere. Been going there for several years now. Usually buy Pies in bulk. Can we please bring back the Butter Chicken …
Delicious pies and sweets. I came here 3yrs ago as this bakery was listed as one of the best to serve a pie floater... i came back again today!!! Absolutely delicious!!! Highly recommend the food, the staff and the location.
Great place for your morning coffee. They value your time and try to serve asap after you place an order. Dine in and take away facilities are available. Dine in area was clean and tidy, but toilets was not properly cleaned.
Just been there last week for first time and had to go there again yesterday. Great place with variety of pies and pastries. It's open 24 hours which is awsome and it's got great vibe and ambiance. Very friendly staff.
I actually said 'oh my god' when I bit into the lemon meringue cronut. It was absolutely divine. Some cronuts are dry and crunchy, this had the right amount of flaky crust and juicy insides. We will definitely be back.
A large 24 hour bakery in town. They have a huge selection of baked goods and also many options for taking home and cooking. There is a decent range of vegan baked goods as well. Overall great service and good food.
Open 24/7, great for those unexpected after hour cravings, the service fast and great.Theu have an array of baked goods. Good coffee, lots of seating available, wheelchair accessible. Can't get enough of this place.
Great service for a busy place, staff are very friendly. The food is also great! I would recommend all apple based deserts and their vast range of paninis and baguettes. The vanilla slice is also big and tasty!
Easily the best 24hr bakery in South Australia, and definitely the best pie floater I've tried. Strongly recommend the steak and pepper pie. Seems to have some decent options for vegans and vegetarians.
Absolutely satisfied after that visit! The satay pie was amazing, the Vienna Hot Chocolate was like velvet and the Van Gogh cupcake tasted as good as it looks. No wonder why they won best bakery in SA!
I fell in love with this place when I visited Adelaide this August for 7 days.. Such a great place for coffee and pie ♥️ I have been there over 15 times in that 7 days! Almost tried all of their pies
Just bought two croissants this morning, and when I got home and found these black rubbish and put into the rubbish bin directly. If you saw they had been over-baked, why didn't you put into the bin?
Nice desert place. Lots of options, easy to take away or dine in. Nice service. Believing that as they open 24hrs, that give night-timers like us a place to stay and chat. Nothing to complain about.
I like their apricot turnover, and coffe eclaird most. Other items are tasty too. Best part of this bakery is it's 24 hours open. Wish it could have one more outlet at the South part of Adelaide.
Love this bakery. So many options and is 24/7. Coffee is great. Highly recommend the Nutella hearts... A giant handfull of Nutella in a pink donut shaped like a heart?! There is a perfect dish!!
The young lass with the eye tattoos on her arms who works there really needs some training in not being cranky with customers. The food is good though ne most of the other staff are pretty nice
Such a wide variety of baked goodies to choose from. From savory to sweet stuff, you will never go wrong and open 24 hours. My fave go to are the vegan chickpea pie, egg tart and cream puff.
Amazing place with a large variety of bakery goodies. Fairly priced with the option for dine in or takeaway. The place itself has a nice cosy feel and good atmosphere. Always vibrant.
Amazing sweet treats at Bakery on O’Connell! We ordered the ham and cheese toastie which was just alright. The star of the show however, went to their Nutella heart and custard donut!
Variety of heaps sweet goods you can find and reasonable price for your pocket money. I try the Nutella bun so yummy. Can’t wait to come back and have some more to feed sweet tooth.
I have placed personal and corporate orders with them. They never disappoint in terms of food but the customer service can definitely be improved. Banana bread is amazing!
Always helpful staff, great selection of savoury and sweet treats. Definitely worth a visit Still my favorite Bakery in Adelaide. Totally delicious food every day! …
Open 24/7 a favorite place of all nighters seeking for food, good service, good place, and beautiful scenery on the way from the city, food taste good with no doubt!
The food is not too bad considering it is available at all hours of the day. Serving sizes seem quite good. Even at 10pm on a Monday it can be hard to find a table.
Had the Sticky Date Cupcake on my last visit. It's so good! My other favourite is the meat pies. Such savoury goodness. I like the interiors of this place too.
Coffee , pasty and vanilla slice The vanilla slice pastry was heavy but the filling was flavoursome Pasty was good - I had a Cornish pasty which I did enjoy
We were surprised to find there is a bakery that opens on Sunday evening. A good one too! Later we realize that they open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
I love how I can go here anytime, many times I've headed there after a late shift with friends and family to enjoy something warm and delicious …
Fabulous bakery, huge variety of tasty hot food and delicious cakes. I love the honey logs! Service is always friendly and most efficient!
Always fresh! Love their banana cake and the beef brisket jalapeno cheese their toasted chicken pesto wrap is awesome …
Nice food but limited servings. They run out of advertised specials around lunchtime. If you can't get there early best give it a miss.
Always enjoyable. Nice environment, welcoming staff and food is great. One the bests in Adelaide. Its great this place is open 24hrs
A 24 Hour bakery with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They have a wide range of food available and everything was tasty.
Really nice deserts and pies that tasted fresh! I just don't really recommend the milkshakes as they were very sickly.
Bought 4 dozen mixed cakes for my team, absolutely beautiful

Sunday Roast Veg Pie (VG) Incredibly good, these guys nailed it with that hint of herbs …
Amazing customer service, seriously cool croissants too! The butter was just gorgeous.
Very delicious pastries ! I would definitely recommend the veggie lentil pie …
Tried their Red velvet cupcake yesterday which didn’t taste like red velvet at all.
