Balham Station has 2 elements to it. The underground station which serves the Northern line and the train station which is housed next to and connects with the tube station building on one side and has trains travelling to Clapham Junction and Victoria on one platform and Croydon, Sutton and other places on the other. There are always plenty of staff around at both and both are clean and safe. If you are picking someone up from the station, you can park in the Sainsbury's car park opposite the train station, for a short while, if it's not full. Alternatively, there are side streets and a Waitrose car park near by, with pay and display.

Balham station is on the black Northern line of the London Underground. It is served by buses 155, 249, 255, 355 and N155. The station is in fare zone 3 and the London Borough of Wandsworth. It is also served by Southern Railway services. Connections to the City and Camden every 2-4 minutes and the West End in peak times. The national rail station connects to Croydon and Watford every 7-10 minutes. Not much else to say.

In many places the station's interior is falling apart. Water leaks, mould, dirt and dust. Clearly would do with a spring clean and renovation. But station staff are always kind and since they were placed into ticket hall and onto platforms they are always visible and available

Unlike the national rail station, the underground station lacks any form of step free access either to the platforms or to the street. Other than that? Average underground station with a nice looking façade and frequent trains to London and beyond. Not much else.

A simple underground station which is served by the Northern line. There is no disabled access down to the ticket hall area only stairs and then from there only escalators to the platforms. A busy underground station which also connects with southern trains.

Staff is sitting playing on the phone in the office located in platform 1-2 and are lazy enough not to bother themselves to stand up unlock the toilets for the customers waiting for train. Why is the toilet locked anyway ?

I find my experience here as good as it's going to get. Staff are receptive, station isn't covered in rubbish, and public restrooms available during normal business hours. What else can I say?

Whenever I see the guys there are always in the rooms watching movies on the phone, when I ask for directions non of crew members paid attention …

Absolutely useless the trains are cancelled, late, the information screen is wrong. The customer service desk is open whenever it feels like.

gets very busy during rush hour, i used to go in the wrong direction for a stop or two to get on the northern line

Got what I needed and had nice chat with other customers in fast queue.

Well staffed and good tube and rail options for lots of destinations.
