Hey there my friends I would like to share something with you because I’m wondering if you may have had a similar experience with this particular business. I am a relatively newcomer to Canada and has not been easy the past few years with the current economic crisis created by the pandemic. I got a job just before Christmas at Banana Republic to help out with the Christmas rush. It was in the store at the Rideau Center. You can imagine how happy I was to finally have some employment and some income. > I was employed as a sales associate and I really enjoyed my job I especially liked interacting with the public who came through the door. My sales were very good I showed up for work every day did a great job and everything seem to be OK. > I’m still waiting to be paid. The banana republic keep making excuses not to pay me. They keep telling me the check is in the mail, I’m just wondering if you’ve heard that somewhere before? Maybe the company is broke. Maybe they’re on the verge of bankruptcy? They certainly have no integrity and no Honesty. Maybe it only happens in the banana republic at the Rito centre and maybe it happens and all their stores.. I’m really curious to hear about your experience so please share your thoughts.. I have called many times and attempted to get paid and they always have a different excuse it’s very frustrating for … So I’m just wondering what your experience has been. I purchased pants from BR in July. Unfortunately, recently I noticed a tear along the seam where the inseam connects to the belt loop in the back. I was rather disappointed as I've had these pants for less than 5 months and I typically purchase from Banana Republic for your higher quality clothing. I brought the pants to this store where I requested an exchange (not a refund). The manager refused indicating that it's natural wear and tear and because of the way I move. When I asked her how she suggest I walk otherwise she had not response. I don't think pants that are less than 5 months old (and are relatively pricey and usually known for high quality) should experience this kind of "wear and tear". I have many pants much older that this has not happened to. I'm disappointed in this lack of customer service for a brand that is usually associated with higher quality and better customer service. Especially since I asked simply for an exchange and not a refund. I suggest you avoid shopping at this store - maybe give Simon's or Indochino a visit instead.

I truly miss the warm staff when the stores were separate. I’ve been twice recently and both times we were looked up and down as we entered and then the two staff members continued their conversation and ignored us. Then one employee started following me and fixing the hangers immediately after I touched them. I’ve never been so uncomfortable in a store in my life. I have always shopped in BR but the whole vibe has become kind of elitist. It’s as though it’s a privilege for us to step over the threshold. I went to a higher end store instead that was more welcoming and made a purchase there. Just go back to being warm and friendly, most people respond better to that.

Normally love Banana Republic however my visit there on Tuesday September 13 evening. I was in my trade show attire which may have contributed to my experience but lots trade shows happen near the Rideau Centre often so this shouldn’t happen. In the 10 min visit that I was looking around no one offered any help or even said hi. Instead what I’m presuming was a manager (because I could hear some training being passed on to the other employee) looked me up and down, not once but twice and just walked away. It was very obvious and made me feel uncomfortable. I went over to Nordstrom and spent about $500 there instead.

I went here because I was looking for a gift for my boyfriend. I went in and was literally was chased around the store by a male employee named Chan. I felt harassed and like I was going to be accused of stealing. He was the only person working and made great effort to follow me around and no I do not feel comfortable stepping foot in this store again. I'm a young woman and when I go out I want to feel safe. My personal opinion on Banana Republic is that their products are over priced but I was browsing for someone else and now I will not support this business after my experience.

We always had a great experience in this store. The quality of the clothes is very good and everyone has always been friendly, however there seems to be a new girl. Today She followed us around the empty store and just staring at us as if we are going to steal something. She wasnt even trying to be subtle or pretending to do something she just stood there staring at us... it was so rude and disgusting. And she wasnt even helpful when we tried to ask her about something. We were still looking around but we decided to leave because we felt So uncomfortable by her rude behaviour

I'm a big Banana Republic shopper, but mostly online. I was returning a sweater I ordered online and the older female associate was not pleasant to work with. She 'inspected' the garment and said because of two tiny pills in the fabric, I must have worn it and she couldn't accept the return. It had the tag dangling from the arm so where would I have worn it?!? The entire interaction felt hostile and I ended up returning it online anyways. No wonder places like this are losing ground to Uniqlo and Simons where they treat customers with respect and friendliness!

Poor attitude from the manager at this store. Upon request to exchange items proceeded to inspect and make humiliating comments about how one item didn't have the original crease in front of customers and staff, even if it came shriveled in an online order. Will never go back. There are retailers with much better attitudes out there. They should film employees and then play the tapes for them, for them to realize how condescending they appear. Looking forward to Amazon Prime Wardrobe. No wonder GAP retail is failing.

Went in and was immediatelly helped by the staff. I was given recommendations based on the descriptions I gave on how and what I like to wear since I'm not really that good at shopping for clothes. Due to their help, I was able to quickly find the clothes that I liked and was extremely satisfied! 10/10 Would come back again.

I went in to buy something last-minute for a wedding. Edgar/Edward (forgot his name) was so fantastic in terms of pulling pieces that would suit me, and also suggesting places I could find something suitable for me for a summer wedding. Didn't end up finding something in my size but the customer service was phenomenal.

Great shopping experience at BR men today thanks to Sham! From the moment I got in he helped me find pieces, helped me find the right fit and was very professional the whole way through. Pretty much the ideal clothes shopping experience which seems to be hard to find these days. The man deserves a raise!

Banana Republic is my go to store for work wear, weekend and semi formal occasions. They carry a range of sizes all the way up to women's 14. Their sales are wonderful. Great deals to be had on the clearance rack as well. Bright and spacious. The staff is always friendly and helpful.

I initially ordered online but when I called this location, Shan was able to provide me more information over the phone. So I decided to cancel my online order and went in store instead. Shan was extremely helpful and sorted me out with 3 new suits. Thanks for your kind service!

Return The employees and manager at the store they are rude with customers, I try to return a gift and they told me give it to some one as it already past 30 days, when purchase there was never a notice that you have 30 days for change or return

we were greeted at at door with warm welcome from the lady. On the way out she had nice "good bye" even we did not buy anything. This European style of service is not popular in Canada.

Mme Christine provides excellent and professional service for me in picking a right suits. Quality of this brand is good, and if coming when there is discounts, it will be a great deal.

Poor customer service and they just don't listen to their client's requests. It's not a one off experience, but happens all the time. Makes me think twice about Banana republic now.

Dependable modern classic clothes for men. Organized store with well stocked shelves. Something is always on sale so no need to break the budget. Great on line shopping as well.

Quality has really deteriorated over the years - especially considering the price. A shame because my boyfriend and I used to really like the clothes here

It's the best place to shop if you're a petite size. Nowhere else in the Rideau centre has petite sections as good as Banana Republic.

I love BR clothing but it doesn’t feel great to walk into a store and feel judged by the employees. Wouldn’t recommend this location.

There’s a lady who came and explained that they have sale items, but the salesman / manager was out of his world duh!
