My recent experience at Bank of America was deeply disappointing and distressing. As a customer with a corporate credit card from this bank, I expected a level of service that reflects their commitment to their clients. However, what transpired during my visit was nothing short of shocking and discriminatory. I came in to cash a check, a process I have undertaken without any issue at various other institutions. Despite having a corporate credit card with Bank of America, the banking managers treated me with suspicion and disrespect. They insisted on verifying the check, as if they had doubts about its legitimacy, despite my having the pay stub as proof. They made a single attempt to contact my employer and claimed they couldn't reach them. As a solution, they decided not to cash my check. When I provided them with the direct number to our payroll department, they still refused to cooperate, citing some vague limitation within their system. This entire experience left me baffled and humiliated. I have never encountered such unnecessary obstacles while attempting to cash a check, especially one for an amount I have previously handled without incident elsewhere. The manager overseeing this debacle was an older white woman, which makes the situation feel like a clear case of discrimination. It's disheartening to think that in this day and age, we are still confronted with such blatant forms of bias and mistreatment. I urge Bank of America to take a hard look at their practices and ensure that all customers, regardless of their background, are treated fairly and respectfully. No one should have to endure the distress I faced during my visit. Discrimination has no place in any institution, especially one that claims to uphold the values of customer service and integrity.
Absolutely horrible experience! I went in to cash a check from someone who I constantly do business with. They would not cash the check because of the amount and because I do not have an account. So I tried to open an account so it would be easier for me and this other person to transfer money back and forth as needed. These people made every excuse as to why they did not want to open an account for me. They tried to tell everything under the stars as to why I should NOT open a bank account with them. It was ridiculous! I was trying to give this Bank my business and no matter what I said they had another excuse as to why I should NOT open an account with them. They actually went as far as to tell me it would not be convenient for me, like they actually know my life after only talking to me for 2 minutes. TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSE WHERE!!
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a bank. I realized that I lost my debit card and since it’s christmas Eve, I knew they were going to close early. So i came to this Bank of America to cancel and get a temporary card. Once I came in, there was no one to greet me. I finally got the attention of a lady working at the Merrill lynch desk. She came up and told me that she was very busy and that she couldn’t help me. There were no customers waiting outside nor at her desk. Another lady came up to me and said that no one else can help and that I need to go to another branch. This was the worst experience possible and I will be filing a complaint with Bank of America.
Went in because I had troubles with my debit card not working, and decided to stop into this branch because it was near my office. This short, Indian woman I spoke to was extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and able to get my debit card working again. I can't speak for the other folks and their experiences, but mine with the short, Indian woman was great. I'll go to her again whenever I have any other issues.
ATM and teller services are fine. The bank specialists are good too, albeit a bit slow - you might need to wait for 30+ minutes to get to them. The worst interaction was with the branch manager - she's not very cooperative in resolving issues, and just said "take your money elsewhere if you're not happy here". I'll definitely consider moving my money to a different bank which values their customers more.
The "manager" at this bank is ridiculous. She's slow, arrogant, and rude, and demonstrates an overwhelming sense of entitlement. She seems to be the type of person who, because she works at a bank, thinks that all of the money belongs to her.
terrible customer service. chuck schwab and wf much better.
