After I saw my doctor I went down the hall to have my blood tests and to pee in a cup.... Lady asked me in a mumbled fashion............ something about fasting.... I said no, I have not fasted today....NO I HAVE NOT !!!!!!!! NOT.......!!!!!!!!!! NO I HAVE NOT FASTED TODAY..... TODAY I HAVE NOT FASTED !!!!! and she said "......okay" ......well here follow me to to this room and she drew my blood !!!!! APPARENTLY SHE DOES NOT KNOW ENGLISH then she showed me where the restroom is and I peed in the cup and then I left... Then I get a phone call the next day from the same person ..... who I cannot hear I told her I can't hear please speak up !!!!! when she did not and she mumbled something about I need to come back in and do another test because my this was high and I mumble blah blah.. something high and she asked me if I had fasted and I said no I did not fast so I went back ag.ain today to do the test again not knowing that I was supposed to fast first fast first they need to make PERFECTLY CLEAR THAT I NEED TO FAST FIRST FIVE TIMES IN A ROW I STILL WAS NOT CLEAR THAT I HAD TO FAST FIRST FIVE TIMES IN AWHILE AND IT WAS STILL NOT CLEAR THAT I HAD TO FAST FIRST AND I'M WRESTLING REASONABLE AND I KNOW I'M HARD OF HEARING BUT IT ISN'T THAT BAD need to say that word 10 times fast first fast first fast first fast first I still did not know that I was supposed to ...FAST......FIRST ...!!!!!!!!! AND I'VE DONE NUMEROUS TESTS THERE BEFORE AND NEVER KNEW THIS THEY NEED TO MAKE THAT CLEAR THAT CAN'T MUMBLED SOMETHING TO YOU WITHOUT LOOKING AT YOU

This care facility is awesome. The staff, the doctors, the labs, and the x-rays are all outstanding. Everyone takes the time to make you feel welcome and cared for. They listen to your questions attentively, and help you get the care that you need by setting up appointments with additional providers if needed. I like that the labs and x-rays are part of this facility and not open to outside patients but specifically for patients at this facility. It sure does make a difference not having to travel to another facility to get blood draws or x-rays.. I think Banner Health Center goes above and beyond with this facility and while I can’t measure it up against their other facilities because I don’t have that experience, I think on a whole, Banner health treats you like a human being, and not just a patient.

I have received excellent care from Dr. Michael Germain at the Banner Desert Ridge location. Everyone involved with my care from scheduling, to intake, to exam and follow up has been professional and caring. Dr. Germain has helped me uncover an extremely complex diagnosis for my conditions. Additionally, Dr. Germain and staff have helped me create a treatment plan and coordinate with a team of 6+ other physicians and clinics. I highly recommend Dr. Michael Germain and all of the providers at the Banner Desert Ridge Health Center. It is hard to get an initial appointment and somewhat difficult to get a quick appointment once established, however, I believe that Banner is working to address these issues. Being seen at this clinic was certainly worth the wait in my case.

After commuting almost 40 minutes to my appointment and arriving within the 15 minute grace period, the doctor said she “was running behind and didn’t want to see me anymore that I needed to reschedule” no phone call, no heads up that they wouldn’t honor the 15 minute grace period. I work 6 days a week, worked until almost 4 AM the previous evening, waited 3 weeks for this appointment for them to cancel it because they didn’t want to provide service or do their job on a Saturday. Absolutely ridiculous. No communication from the office whatsoever either! Waste of my time and shows the lack of dedication to patient care from the facility.

First visit: I saw Laura Hellenthal, NP. I told her I needed a person who could manage all my health issues and keep an eye on the normal things that get missed as I already have 20+ specialists, plus manage any referrals I needed. She took in my very complicated medical problems - and my very long list of meds, allergies, medical conditions, surgeries - without missing a beat. She handled all my concerns, referrals, etc, plus several more things I hadn't thought of. She was considerate, thorough, knowledgeable and personable in quick fashion without losing compassion. I loved her! If I could give her more stars, I would.

Dr Michael Germain is a superb internist and primary care physician affiliated with Banner Health at the Desert ridge campus. He’s up-to-date on men’s health medical advances. He listens well, does a thorough exam, carefully reviews lab results, and lets me know he received letters from specialists involved in my care. He sums up the visits by reassuring me of my good health status, encourages me to keep up healthy lifestyle, and coaches me on early detection of health issues common for people my age. I leave the office feeling like a VP patient-confident that I am well taken care of and we’ll informed.

While the doctors and front staff are nice. The call center provides you with wrong information and does not communicate with the actual health care facility. They neglected to tell us the cost of just meeting with a doctor which was an outrageous charge of $700. Just for speaking with the doctor. The call center refused to allow me to book a new patient physical, but when I got to the facility they told me after our appointment I should have been able to so. I didn't appreciate the lack of knowledge and communication and neglecting to warn us of the price just for a meeting.

I love the idea of this facility and staff is nice but good luck trying to get hold of anyone and actually getting the dr. staff to respond back to you when you need them. You get results and you will wait 3-4 weeks for them to be reviewed or maybe not at all. Whether you call or email, no one bothers responding and your requests get into this black hole of not giving a .02 about you or your issue. If the staff is over worked and they have too many patients, maybe they should stop taking in more people. The ones that are being seen can't get the care they need.

I recently went to Banner Health for a wellness exam and met with Laura Hellenthal, A-NP, someone I consider as my primary physician because she has been my primary healthcare provider for the last 5 years. The Banner Health office on Irma Ave. close to Desert Ridge can be highly touted as efficient with friendly and respectful staff, convenient with imaging and lab services on site, and thorough in their approach as healthcare provider. I highly recommend Banner Health and in particular, Laura Hellenthal, A-NP.

A beautiful facility with excellent staff focused on being very pleasant and highly competent at getting all my preop clearance needs met for an upcoming surgery. I had a wellness exam, lab work, chest X-ray and ekg all done at the same facility with minimal wait times. All the appointments only took one hour. I received text confirmations and reminders and messaging from the staff about medication refills and results and message within the patient portal. Very professional!

Have known Dr Mengesha for many, many years. he gives solid advice and recommendations. As an example, even during the pandemic, when he was extremely busy, and my wife was in the hospital he took time to see me on a Saturday morning, found a hernia, and referred to care. I've been a patient of Dr. Mengesha for years and he is the same person today as he was then. He is very kind, knowledgeable and explains everything in details. Handles all issues in a timely manner. Today I had the pleasure of visiting with Dr. Mengesha PA Thadbring Dowling, she is very thorough and friendly, all issues were addressed and resolved.

Banner is my number one to go for my health care and emergency care. I love the staff whether at my doctor's office or Banner emergency room. Dr.Mercer and her staff are helpful and caring. They recommend specialists if needed and follow up as needed. Dr. Mercer reads her messages from the portal on a timely basis for non emergency issues. She is knowledgeable from pediatrics through geriatrics. I absolutely recommend her for your family. My entire family are patients of hers.

The front desk staff was good but not friendly. The two nurses assistants that I saw first were amazing. Apologized for wait and did all the pre- appt. necessities with care and kindness. Dr. Steele was great! He explained everything and answered questions thoroughly. He injected my cortisone shot with care and agility. Thank you all!!

If you have health concerns I suggest this office. I was with a Physician for almost 20 years but he is getting ready to retire and I felt he didn't care about my health....especially when he would not do a preauth for my cholesterol medication which I found out after going to this office he gave me the wrong meds for years

Dr. Lorna Honan has been my PCP for several years. I like her and I trust her. She never appears rushed during my visit. She asks me questions and listens to my answers. She explains her thoughts and recommendations on medications and treatments. I appreciate her final comment of, ‘Is there anything else I can do for you?’

My PCP (Dr. Andrea Goldberg) is very thorough, professional & caring in providing medical care. Also, Medical Assistant (Alejandra) was very courteous in dealing with me. I'm gratefully blessed to have my medical needs provided by very proficient, professional & patient-caring staff.

The physicians and staff at Banner Desert Ridge have to be the very best in the state of Arizona, if not the entire Southwest. Dr. Benavidez treated me with respect and kindness and took care of my issues in an efficient way. I feel good about feeling good with this medical team.

Dr. Laura Helenthal listens attentively and is so very willing to help. I feel comfortable with her and her MA Stephanie. It took me quite a while to find a PCP that I could really speak with who actually takes the time. She was recommended by a friend. I highly recommend her.

The doctors are great, however, every single visit they tell me my insurance isn't valid, even though the card is current. Every. Single. Time. Then I have to spend additional time on the phone getting it fixed. Great care but be prepared to do more work than you need to.

Had an appointment with Dr. Gina Matthews and would recommend anyone with a blood sugar problem to consult with her. Dr. Mathews treats her patients with respect and dignity and truly cares about me as a person and in helping me change my health.

Every PCP that I have had at this location have been amazing. Everyone needs to retire at some point in life, yes including Doctor's but when they touch your heart and soul with their hands it's an amazing experience!!
