Horrible I just left yesterday after 14hrs in the er. During that 14 hrs I got meds twice I asked to speak with the dr on my case after being told I was being admitted (I got there at 3am around 7/8am told I was being admitted around 2pm I still had no room or information I asked for pain meds to which the nurse said she wasn’t aware of I was in pain for almost an hour until a nurse came in throwing me into a panic attack gave me anxiety meds after throwing me into a panic attack saying the fr needed to treat that first no nausea meds or pain meds then I asked to speak to the dr (3rd one on my case since arrival) and he was to busy he had the nurse ask if he could call me on my cell phone!!! I’m laying in an er bed for 14 hrs only two rounds of meds in that time I’m in pain I’ve undergone a ct scan with dye ultra sound external and internal (vaginal) a pelvic exam to which they came back and said I had to swab MYSELF again the first wasn’t accurate that the FIRST Dr did! All this and I asked for pain meds after being extremely examined and hurting again after hours and still couldn’t get help. The dr finally called me on my cell saying he had no answers on when I would have a room and he already talked to me so he didn’t know what else he could do. He wouldn’t answer questions or anything I said I wanted to leave and he told me if I did I wouldn’t get any meds for anything because he was admitting me and I’m leaving ama but yet I layed in a er bed for 14hrs with only two doses of meds no antibiotics nothing he threatens me for wanting to leave after I asked for answers and options and got nothing in return. I’ve dealt with this for months and it’s on record and I went here being told they are good and care no not the case now I suffer in pain no help as this place dismissed Me and my pain
Caring and attentive staff at Heart One South especially the CNAs that took care of me while there, no bias! They were very empathetic! All staff that took care of me while at Heart PCU was great except for the HUC of the day on 07/24/23 (I think she was the HUC, she was not my CNA that day) that scolded me as if I’m a child. I asked for my IV to be covered to get ready for a shower, the HUC came in to my room to do it and I was helping her by unhooking myself to the IV fluids running while she was preparing the IV cover and she suddenly yelled at me “No! You do not do that! You are the patient! What do you think you need to have on that if you unhook it?!(referring to the tip of the IV tubing)” and I responded “the green caps” and she said “do you have the green caps with you?!”(asking me with an attitude) and she told my nurse across the room what I did and they were laughing. She/they did explain afterwards that I need a shower order before I can shower however the previous nurses were letting me take showers since day 1 of admission so I would have expect that I already have a shower order since they was letting me shower previously and also I would have understand if she explained to me in a nice way instead of making me feel like I’m a child and scolded me like that in front of people I don’t even know and laughing about it, that was uncalled for. Plus if she think (the HUC) I would need a shower order, she would have verified to my nurse first before entering into my room and getting ready to do it, this would have not happened if she verified with the nurse first. I had a great time at Heart PCU except that day and I was glad I got transferred to Heart One South that day.
Want to start out by saying this post and rating is not related to my doctor, anesthesiologist or recovery nursing staff. They were all great. Also, the food was pretty good and the people that bring it to you were very sweet and prompt. I seen them more, I believe more than the nursing staff. The issue was the care and the 2 day hospital stay on the 5th floor women’s unit after my surgery. The nurses and CNA’s with the exception of the nurse and CNA I had on my last night there, were all completely unprofessional and their medical knowledge is definitely lacking to the point of I believe could hinder one’s recovery or worse. The room is in need maintenance and upgrades as well. The bed deflated and it took nearly 2 hours to get a replacement after finally getting someone to acknowledge that laying on a malfunctioning bed that without air is like laying on metal, not great after abdominal surgery. The recliner is in need of replacement as well, it takes a team of people to put the foot rest down and was very uncomfortable to say the least. The shower did not drain properly, so you are showering in standing water while trying to adjust water temp that was impossible to adjust to a normal warm. I tried to call patient relations to address my concerns in more detail to hopefully prevent some of what I experienced for future patients, however the call went to voicemail and I have yet to receive a call back. Can’t say that I am surprised:(
They didn’t enter my insurance information correctly four times and my bill was sent to collections. I had total pregnancy Medicaid coverage at the time of my services at Baptist in February 2023. I received a bill for services in the mail and I called Mori Bean and Brook and gave them my insurance information. They said they would handle it and that the problem was they never received my insurance information. They said not to worry and that it would be handled. I received another bill several weeks later. I called Mori Bean and Brook again and they informed me they still didn’t have my insurance information on file. I gave them the information again and was reassured it would be taken care of. Several more weeks later the exact same thing happened. I expressed concern over me still receiving bills despite repeatedly calling and giving them my insurance information. They assured me they would handle it and it would not be sent to collections. October 2023 I received a letter in the mail stating this bill has been sent to collections. This will now negatively impact my credit score. During this trying time in this economy as a young, disabled mother to two babies two years old and younger this is a terrible blow. Avoid business with this company at all costs. They do not do their job. You will suffer the consequences of their neglect.
Overall, my experience was wonderful. Everyone introduced themselves at all stages. Pre-op--a little nerve-wracking. There was a problem getting the IV in my arm with eventual success. Also, a lot of wait time, but can't blame the staff there. It was most likely a function of everyone else's schedule meshing together at some point. The surgery--a major one--went very well. To be honest, I can't remember anything after being wheeled into the room with all the equipment. Thank you anesthesiologists. Appreciate the great cocktail. I also didn't get sick afterwards--a definite plus. My surgeon and PA were aces! I cannot say enough about the three nursing shifts caring for me in my room. They were terrific! There was a stream of people providing ancillary services over the two days I was hospitalized and their assistance was appreciated. The view from my room was amazing--St. Johns River--nicer than some hotels I've stayed in. Would like to suggest that better coordination with meal service would be tremendously helpful as I wasn't even consulted a few times. Also, having something in the room that explains how the phone and tv work would be helpful. My husband accidentally took my phone home. Thank you to the people that make Baptist Medical Center so good.
Had to do an emergency c section at Baptist downtown with my twins. They were born at 33 weeks and had to go to the NICU. While I was recovering from the c section, a nurse cornered my husband and told him if we don't consent to vaccines they will not give our children treatment in the NICU. They didn't allow me to consult with me. I later found out that this was not policy according to the charge nurse. However, my husband didn't want to withhold care so he consented, violating our beliefs and plan. It is kind of ironic in a way, that they forced my 33 week old babies to get the hep b vaccine when they were only 3 and 4 pounds... considering the same hospital then accidentally gave our babies another patients bodily fluids. Yep, you read that right. They coerced my husband into giving our children the hep b vaccine only to turn around and give them a strangers bodily fluids. The nurse mixed up the breastmilk of another mother with a child in the NICU. We were the ones who found it when reading the label during a feed that it had someone else's name on it entirely. Terrible experience. Went to baptist south for my next pregnancy and all of our wishes and religious beliefs were respected.
The facility was clean but the nurses are lazy in preop, for the ones that I can only say that was in preop on Friday and Saturday at the Jacksonvill hospital was one nurse that help me with everything that I needed was the best nurse there . I did not have a good experience I can only speak for the ones that helped me that night that one nurse she was marvelous. She was the one that helped my husband when he had open heart surgery in 2019 ,but I can say that when I did stay there and had open heart surgery in 2019 the nurses on the heart floor were very very good nurses but it seems like when you have surgery and you have to stay in preop because of the virus at the time well the nurses were lazy especially one nurse said when I was leaving the facility on that Saturday that they were supposed to clean up and she said that she wasn’t gonna clean the room out she was go to sit in the chair and waste time. All they did was just sitting around doing nothing that’s lazy I am not too happy with the downtown Baptist hospital with some of these nurses that just don’t care but as far as the millennium group here in Nassau county, they are the best
We've been sitting in the ER for 4 hours still haven't been treated. My doctor sent me here to be admitted. I have Crohns Disease and I have a blockage. This ER is worse than anything I've ever seen. If you need immediate help do not come to this ER! Finally to the back and nurses and doctor amazing. If you don't mind the wait it's worth it once you get in. I would like to add an update. Sometimes you don't realize what goes on behind the scenes that you see at the moment. You just see what's in your view. After moving to the back we talked to nurses and doctors and the hospital was full. They were trying to make room for people to be admitted and had to wait on doctors to release people that could ho home to make room for others to be admitted. Sometimes your pain and sickness clouds your vision. I want to say thank you to the nurses in the ER, Heidi, Christina, Dorothy and Corey a paramedic working that night. Corey is the best at making you smile and doing an outstanding job on my IV. I know there was probably others that I can't remember your name but thanks for all your help and how you treated me as a patient.
The receptionist treated me with so much care. The lady that did my vital was the reason I got seen sooner than expected because she took my symptoms seriously. Thank you for that. The doctor listened to me keenly and asked if I had any other questions. However, I was left in the room for over 2 hours after receiving contrast dye in my IV. I wanted to pee so bad and couldn't move cuz of the machine I was attached to. I was suppose to be going in for a CT scan but it seems that they forgot about me. I had to call the front desk and ask for help and as soon as I hung up, someone walked in a minute later to take me to the CT scan. Because I was there for over 2 hr, they had to put more contrast into my IV. Who is going to pay for that addition? After the CT scan , I finally got a call bell light in my hand "if I need anything ". When i call for the nurse, they answered but nobody came. I had to un plug myself from the machine and go to the bathroom. About an hr later, a different doctor came and she just seem so confused about my chart smh it was so frustrating. I was there since 7 30pm till 4 30 a.m.
Trash. Went there and was diagnosed with diabetes. They wanted me to stay a few days , I have pets at home , didn't make any arrangements for their food and water . I needed to leave the hospital just for a hour , but the Doctor ( which I never saw ) didn't give 2 shets about my pets , I was given refuse service papers to sign. I went back to the hospital the next day , this time it was like Shands on a bad day. In total they hit me for $13k , I never saw a doctor. Was handed a packet of paperwork. ( Apparently they still live in the 1980's. Never heard of Email , save a freaking tree) No insulin... They couldn't even do a clean test to figure out a proper doseage.. I went from pounding down lots of junk food and 3 gallons of sweet tea a day to sugar free snacks in the hospital , no healthy meals , I have hyperthyroidism as well ( extremely hungry 24/7) which is somewhat a oxymoron to have with diabetes. I was pounding 6,000 calories a day which is impossible to do with diabetes, ( I'm not eating 100lbs of salad a day ) ...
My oncologist had me go in because as an active chemo patient I was running 103 temp. Which in a cancer patient is extremely seriously and possibly life threatening. When I walked in to the emergency department in downtown Jacksonville fl I explained everything to them , the took my blood pressure and temperature and said well your vitals are fine so your not a priority . I asked how long my wait time was and they said 8 or 9 hours. The Triage nurse told me the same thing, she explained they had people ahead of me and unfortunately I was prioritized "right below someone being dead". I said I needed bloodwork asap and again was told were not doing that right now. My husband called my Oncology office and they suggested another Emergency department. We left and drove to the stand alone Fleming Island Emergency Department and was seen within 5 minutes. They were prompt and immediately got bloodwork and began running test. My recommendation for anyone needed the Emergency room, go anywhere but download!!!
Worst experience in a hospital. I don’t know where to begin. The wait was atrocious. Taken into the er with ppl sleeping in beds all thru out the hallway and employees laughing and talking more than actually helping guests. Than brought over to process information and sign papers for another 20 minutes. You’d think we would have received help for the reason we came but nope not yet my insurance info is what’s most important to the hospital . Than For some reason I was separated from my pregnant girlfriend and assumed to be guilty of “something” before I was allowed to be reunited with my family, as if the hospital cares more about my family than I would. I was told this is protocol. What a complete joke. All this was done before they ever did a ultra sound to check on my son . I wouldn’t recommend this hospital to work on my dog let alone my family. Zero stars, would never come here again.
It’s a joke to call this place a hospital. My girl friend got rear ended and had a herniated disc in her neck and a cracked vertebrae, admitted at 9:30 am. It is 6:00 pm and these people just came in here saying they don’t know where her MRI paper work is. So she’s been sitting in here with a broken back and neck since the last shift was working and nobody has done a single thing but gossip and watch videos on there phones since we got here. The nurse who hooked her up to an IV wasn’t wearing any gloves and when told the level of pain was an 8 on a scale from 1 - 10 was put on a non urgent list. This place is a complete and total joke and if you value yours or your loved ones life and they are in need of urgent care , I would highly advise not coming here. I would recommend you to go to Shands, or to drive to the nearest city because urgent care here is treated like paint on a house .
Baptist is a very great hospital. Me and my children have been here and never had a problem. The whole Baptist team is very professional and courteous. I always feel better when a healthcare professional is confident in their job! They are always quick but efficient and that means alot when you're in pain or just not feeling good. I also love the fact that they have a pharmacy located here at the hospital instead of going all the way to another pharmacy. The cafe has so many wonderful options for you to choose from They now even have a sushi option right next to the grill area. So whether you're feeling a salad, burger, soul food, or a sushi roll, you can find it here in the Baptist cafe. Or if you just don't want anything from the café, they have a chick-fil-A located in the hospital as well So overall the Baptist Group is one of the best here in Northeast Florida!!
In the hospital contracting less than 20 minutes apart ...doctor advised a hot bath and Tylenol and to not help induce me. This was my 3rd time coming. Doctors advise the contractions at a constant rate is normal. Last night my baby heart rate dropped. I had to get oxygen and rotate side to side. Doctor advise baby looks good and for me to be discharge. My second visit I was shot with steroid after steroid and I just don’t understand. The fees are just too high for these doctors not to listen and care about your well being. I don’t recommend unless you have a relationship with the doctors. This is my first and I’ll be going back to my other obgyn. I don’t even want to step foot into the office anymore. Currently 36/37 weeks and not to mention upon my release the nurse never offered a wheelchair. I walked down still contracting to the waiting room on the first floor.
My appointment was taken here, I wanted to get the cast off my leg. Instead of saying that they don't do it there and don't have the machine to do that there and telling me to look somewhere else they just took my appointment. The doctor walked in and said he doesn't have the machine and said go to baptist orthopedic and walked out. And then I was sent a bill for $142 (my insurance wont pay for it either because it has been going back and forth between 2 providers but that is a story of it's own). I have been failed by the medical system even though I didn't do anything wrong. I think getting injured was my biggest mistake. Thank you baptist primary for being SO supportive. I had a better experience at baptist orthopedics though atleast I got the service I was promised. Why was my appointment taken when baptist medical cant do anything about it.
My mother needed to have a couple proceedures done. There are only 3 doctors in the US who treat her condition and 1 is at this hospital. This place was like the twilight zone. Every single person we came in contact with from Surgeons to house keeping was truely amazing! They all seemed to love their jobs and truely cared about their patients. Our room was in tower 7B. It was very very small and underwhelming but that didnt matter because what the room lacked in decoration, the view made up for in aces. Everyroom seemed to be full but i would have never known as the staff made us feel like their top priority. They listened, they took action, they made things happen. They even hugged us as we left, and not just 1 of them but 3 of them did. I would not hesitate to use this hospital again. I give them 5 stars and 1,000,000 likes!
If I could give this Amazing hospital 10 Stars I would. From the nurses to the Drs to the EMT team. Yesterday at about 7pm I was drained, in pain, and I had been excessively throwing up non stop. I wish I could remember my nurse name but she was absolutely amazing. Every time any one needed to touch me they would warm they hands up before they even came to the room. When my nurse gave me wipes to clean myself up the wipes where so warm. I've never in my life been treated so great at a huge facility. I was very impressed and it was a amazing experience. I wanna say to you guys thank u for everything I'm so grateful to see that the place my husband works is a amazing place to be apart of. I think when I get the surgery I need this the facility I prefer to have do it! I'm sure I'll be in great hands.
From someone who avoids hospitals because of a bad experience, I have NEVER had a better experience!!!!!!!!!! Went into the ER with an issue and ended up needing minor surgery. Checked in at 10am and was in pre-op by 3pm. The ER nurses and doctors, especially the doctor whom put my IV in(which is important because I have a terrible fear of needles). The pre-op team was amazing as well! Everything is run so efficiently! In post op I don't remember the wonderful nurses names but they made me feel at home after taking my first breath waking up and until I left. I want to shout out Ms. Samantha and Ms. Ebony who cared for me that evening and into the next morning. I recommend this hospital no matter what side of town you live on! It's worth the drive.
I absolutely love my doctor he is the best Dr.Kinman do is caring very understanding and always willing to help to the best of his ability to make me stay as healthy as I can. The rest is UGHHHH I can never get through on the phone when a referral is done it is not completed by the referral department I call and wait on the phone for 20 minutes just to get hung up on multiple times it’s very discouraging. If it wasn’t for my doctor I would change all together but I appreciate him so much that I stay but I honestly believe they need to get it together over there. It is not ever that busy that they can’t do simple tasks. He is a five star doctor with a one star staff!
Thoroughly disappointed with Baptist during this visit. I came into ER, transported via ambulance, with stroke symptoms and only to be placed in a holding room for about 6 going on 7 hours while waiting for an MRI. If they feel I'm having a stroke isn't time of the essence?! What has happened to Patient care at Baptist? Update: I have now be Update: I want to update my previous review and say that I athe most wonderful patient advocate came to visit with me regarding my concerns and is addressing each one. Thank you Baptist for listening and being proactive.oneeded to be brought to their awe are all busy yet the experiences were not up to Baptist standards.
It’s been 4 months ago. I lost my daughter to health complications. But during her stay in ICU the doctors and nurses was great except for Seth while in my daughter room. He was trying to put an IV in her arm with an ultrasound machine as the guide.Turned asked the nurse beside him what was he doing wrong. . My opinion he doesn’t need to work in ICU. I asked for him not to return.and I call her nurse Jackie. She was mean and talked about the patient episodes and how didn’t think she be living in a week outside her door. Needless to say my daughter passed away 3 days later. This is why I gave a 2. Baptist is still my choice just not those two nurses.
Worst birthing experience ever. They took over an hour and a half to put in my epidural. Then it came out of my back and they didnt know so they called me a baby because I basically gave birth naturally and was in so much pain they thought i still had my epidural in. The doctor left in the middle of me pushing for an hour and then the nurse told me to stop pushing because she wasnt going to deliver the doctors baby. They stuck me over 15 times before they called someone in who actually knew what they where doing. If i could give them a negative 100 review i would. On the other hand there nicu was amazing.
My dad had surgery in May. He is 74 years of age He was in ICU for two weeks. The staff were so loud at desk laughing and acting like children. Some of the nurses acting like they did not want to even attend to him until i was up there. Also he returned to hospital in August and the fill in physician primary care dr said one thing and the speech therapist said another and did not agree on what needed to be done. Alot of nurses at that time had no sense of urgency. I usually understand nurses jobs are tough but you also need to be a kind person to a patient. Very disappointed with this hospital
We have been in the ER for 8 hours. My 81 year old mother is laying in urine and no one seems to care. It’s been 4 hours since anyone has even checked on her. I’m sitting in the hallway in hopes they at least acknowledge we are here. I’ve heard this is a good hospital, but we are not seeing that today in the ER. Janitor just walked through with dirty mop bucket in tow. On top of cart next to broom are clean linens and gowns. Doesn’t seem too sanitary. Update, it has now been 13 hours in the ER. Still waiting on admission. There must be a better option.
I have always had pleasant experiences at BMC. The staff are awesome and the wait time is reasonable. I travel from Brunswick, Ga for these reasons. The staff take time to answer questions and listen to you. From Dr. Hognett to Dr. Erb, I highly recommend this place for services of any kind. Clean, comfortable and safe is how I would describe this facility. If this continues, I'll be a constant patient at the facility instead of special visits. OB/GYN next on the list! Thanks for your care and service of patients!
BEWARE OF ER! I took my daughter there for a stomach bug. She received a half pill for nausea and a popsicle during a three hour wait. I ended up paying three (3) separate bills for the singe visit: - $300 upfront (before services were rendered), - $800 for the privilege of being admitted into Baptist, and - $300 for 3rd-party Emergency Resources Medical Services group that manages the doctors/staff. What a joke. I can't imagine what the costs would have been if we received the other half of the pill.
So I get to the outpatient for the heart center a half hour early as I am getting a loop monitor put in today. They come out to tell me an hour and 15 minutes after I’ve been here that they don’t have the loop monitor at this hospital and it could take up to a few hours to get it here from Baptist South. I told her I could drive there and get back in less than an hour Do you know my time is important as yours? Could’ve used a phone to call me this morning to tell me not to arrive at my scheduled time.
Giving a full 5 stars! This morning I went in with some pregnancy issues at 30 weeks, I was taken back immediately and my nurse , Lauren, was tremendous! She insured to explain everything she was doing at each point in time and checked in on me frequently! I am so blessed to have such an amazing staff to take care of me during the crazy times and I look forward to welcoming my baby soon with all of the wonderful nurses and doctors in the L&D unit!! God Bless every single one of you amazing workers!❤️
My experience at Baptist is one of Awesome satisfaction! My ENT Doctor Scott Scharer is very professional. He explains everything in comprehensive detail. The staff is and were caring, detailed, professional, patient with me as a patient...lol, and gentle with my care, and I have and had a great view of the Acosta Bridge, the One Call bldg, the Main St Bridge, the helicopter pad, and my car parked on the rooftop; all beautifully lit up at night. I would like to say thank you All and I appreciate you!
I have had several experiences at Baptist Medical Center . Have had Heart Issues for 2 years , in those 2 years I have been to Baptist Heart at Prudential down town 4 times . Not one had one complaint , everyone treated me like family . My cardiologist and Electrophysiologist are in my opinion are the best in Jacksonville and with their help I feel better today then I have in 2 years . The facilities are up to date , clean , staff , nurses , kitchen help is best I have seen from any other hospital.
I am facing open heart surgery and I’ve been going to Mayo and I decided to get a second opinion because I just feel like I’m a number at Mayo. I have now decided that I am going to have Baptist do my surgery because the staff, doctors and surgeons have been exceptional and have ordered tests to find out the safest way for me. I have waited on Mayo for six months and I still don’t know anything. Baptist ordered all the tests right away and I have my consultation with surgeons this month.
I was admitted to the hospital for a lupus flare up. I was put on tower 5B room 522. I wanted to say that Candese my day nurse was absolutely amazing. She took amazing care of me. She kept me feeling safe took care of me physically and mentally. She gave me hope during a rough time. She needs a RAISE!!!! My husband and daughter loved her as well. She is the definition of a perfect nurse. I hope you see this Candese. Love Sarah <3
So I came in to the Baptis hospital downtown Jacksonville, Florida hospital on January 20 had a heart attack. I had a Willow maker I died and they brought me back and I have been doing Great I would not trust my life with no one else thank you Baptis heart center for saving my life and gave me a few more good years with my family!!!!! the staff was great with my whole family. The staff took really good care of me.
Update: they are still doing some shady things and acting like the initial payment never happened. Do not pre-pay! Baptist allows their scheduling department to over charge ahead of procedures then allows them to cancel with no notice. There has been no follow up on returning the exorbitant amount they required ahead of the procedure and there’s no way to contact them to fix it. Overall a terrible experience.
Felt like I was rushed by the PA. Weak in the legs and was asked to walk more. Not to mention she didn't know what SSDI meant. Then after reading my discharge papers I noticed that what I actually came in for was not even put on the report. My chief complaint was my neck. At this point Shands would have been better. If I was critical injury always use St.vincest. as long as have life think I pass on Baptist.
Im here in the waiting area for about 4 hours now and they still haven’t called me to see a doctor yet and my 5 months old bby just crying with pain and they don’t care i keep asking them to call the back see if they have any available bed but the employee are just being rude at this point all the babies here are crying and im getting aggravated and im also crying cause my baby sick and i cant get no help
Everyone at Baptist Heart Specialists are very kind and caring. I personally have had the pleasure of working with Dr. Gupta, Margaret (MA) Kathy (cardiac sonographer), Penny (LPN), Stephanie (RN). Always offering help and just being so pleasant with me. I would recommend everyone come here. The amount of empathy shown here is amazing. Keep up the good work everyone and continue saving lives.
It makes 0 sense that they would build a parking garage all the way on the other side of the only entrance that's open on weekends. I shouldn't have to walk a million miles to visit my child. And then once I get inside it's more walking because of the situation too, so all of the visitation time is over. It should not take 30 minutes to walk and get to where you need to be at a hospital.
They deleted my review, most 1 star reviews get deleted when you write them. Terrible hospital, understaffed and simply put its dangerous, and the manipulate their reviews so they seem much better. Last year they were 2.8 stars. Now after getting worse they have somehow gotten to 4.1? Nope they are lying and deleting bad reviews people leave. They already did mine once.
I had my baby here Friday and I had an amazing birth experience from triage nurses all the way through my postpartum stay! I truly felt like they respected my birth plan, offered advice but never pressured me. Dr Alexander delivered my baby and she was amazing ! This is my 3rd baby in a 3rd state and probably my favorite birth by far. Thank you Baptist doctors and nurses !
Have had great experiences here (maternity) before tonight. Called Teledoc, they said to go directly to ER. ER wait time website said 152 minutes we are still sitting here 6 hours later... They just announced they were calling a nurse from another hospital. Once the ER started piling up it would have been appreciated if they mentioned maybe going to a different ER.
The best part of my recent experience were the nurses and the operating staff. They made my experience, something that was really scary to me, much better, because of their kindness, the way they explained things to me and just took time to talk with me. All this made me very comfortable and I would definitely go back because of my experience if I had to that is!!
Exceptional care! I couldn't give a 5 only because of a mean tech and arrogant nurse in the Heart Tower. She unfortunately needed transferred to other areas during her stay, but they were the best of the best. Staff even came to visit her when she was on other units. Truly God's greatest servants work here. Trust that the doctors and staff put patients first here!
The staff was very friendly and polite. The person that answered the phone was very helpful and very concerned because I was lost and couldn't find the right building of the location. The Doctor was very concerned and patient. I felt very comfortable with sharing my health issues with the doctor. Very pleased with the service that I received.
My daughter was seen in the Emergency Room downtown and she had the best Emergency Room doctor in Jacksonville, Florida. The doctor's name was C. Wieczorek. She had the best bedside manner. She ran tests, did research, and she answered all of our questions. It's not fun going to the ER but with doctors like this she made the Emergency Room visit very pleasant.
Bottom rate health care for my grandmother left for almost 24 hours with no pain meds and a bed pan under her causing a sore. Not too mention the nurse that tried to give her an IV (4) times without calling for help and never got one in. Better health care in a war zone…. I’d rather be pronounced dead at the scene then to get “health care” from these toddlers.
Was brought in by ambulance having a very painful miscarriage. I was confused, distraught, and bleeding. Nurses didn't seem to care I was sobbing and could barely walk. I overheard a nurse say to the EMT "I thought you always took the crazies over to UF Shands??" And they laughed. Literally being mocked for my mental state as I lost a child.
Excellent experience at Baptist Cardiovascular Center. Everyone was extremely professional and presented genuine concern with your care. My nurse Jennifer was exceptionally pleasant in providing me with the best of care. I would highly recommend this facility for any cardiovascular testing or intervention, Thanks Dr.Sid !!!
The Facility was clean and well maintained. The staff were all courteous and very personable. Pre-operative procedures were performed efficiently with dignity and care. The actual procedure was performed by Dr. Wayangankar and he was professional, courteous and efficient. I was pleasantly surprised by the whole experience.
The Drs & medical personnel are good, for the most part, but the Billing / Accounting support are incompetent & rude. They misapply payments, bill you over & over, get rude when you call / email, and are generally miserable to deal with. My son still has a Baptist primary, but I avoid any new providers with them.
Went in today after 9pm. Was there until after 11 pm. Not one doctor came in to bring a patient to the back. I am expecting and was having heart palpitations. I definitely left that place n went back home. Hoping to see my doctor soon. Such a shame I won’t ever return to that hospital. Should have went to HCA
My wife and all my family feel gratefull with the accertive and committed service bringed by the critical area on Heart Building to their father. All the staff act with professionalism and respectfullness. Thank you Mr. Carlson, Ms. Te Quilla, All Specialist Medical Team, All of you are amazing.
I was in for a loop recorder replacement with Doctor Sagi. Kristina was my nurse. They both are great. the facility is so nice now with the renovations they have done. much more room. My procedure was in a private room rather than in a curtained room. I love this hospital and staff.
I went in for a heart catheterization. I was concerned. Obviously, the entire staff kept me apprised the whole time they answered all my questions, professionally and thoughtfully. I was very impressed with everyone of the staff from beginning to end. Thank you Baptist heart health
I was impressed with all the staff & their expertise & kindness! I had thorough, excellent care throughout my 5 days, including procedure. As a retired nurse, I was thankful for the knowledgeable care I received. My room was clean with a magnificent view. Thank you Baptist Health!
I just got out of the hospital after being there for 2 days and the staff was super amazing and super nice and treated me with so much care. I’m so grateful for the nurses and doctors services thank you all so much for what you do for your patients it really makes a difference..!
Everyone is quite friendly . I'm a senior and can get turned around easily. I parked in the wrong area on a very hot day. The front receptionist saw rhe problem and called a golf cart for me. The have a nice littl3 food court as well. I was pretty stressed and it calmed me down
I have had a number of surgeries over the years at the down town facility. Everything i experienced was successful and as pleasant as could be expected. I have only one complaint. The discontinuation of the valley service. It was such a help to we elderly when it was provided.
Wonderful new area. Family can be near, but not under foot.. All staff excellent. Not sure of Exact titles, but all concerned with Your health and comfort. Watched like a hawk ( this is Very comforting to me as a patient) after surgery/procedure.... …
Stayed here as patient after surgery 10 days. Vast majority of nurses had about 15 different ones over 10 days so not care. Bedsheets not changed regularly, has ask after 3 days for personal wipes, they won’t give u PRN “as needed” med Drs prescribe. Never going here again.
It was a great visit, minimal wait, smiling and friendly staff. The test was handled by an experienced Tech who was very informative and was able to answer all of my questions (even the silly ones) and made the whole thing stress free. Hat's off to the whole crew...Gary
I have enjoyed Dr Faiza Shah working on my medical issues. She ihas been very kind & sweet every morning, yet such a warrior behind her desk working on my medical issues. I got so sick & now I'm so much better thanks to her! She's a good one to have on board! Thank you.
I’m in baptist heart. The nurse came on duty at 7 o clock. It’s 952 and i haven’t seen the nurse yet. I’m in severe pain I was trying to wait until they make their rounds. The cna has been in here 3 or 4 times. I asked her do I have a nurse tonight. This is ridiculous!
Kind and efficient staff-starting with front desk and continuing to those who did the testing. I was able to view my results the very next day in the portal. I also appreciate the easy to access location-didn’t have to go to the hospital for testing. Highly recommend.
Had came in thru the emergency room ,ended up being admitted and had to have emergency surgery. RN Amaya and Tammy. Both you Ladies was amazing and made me feel at home. Thank you ladies for such a great experience in one of the scariest moments for me.
I like the professionalism, the hands on care given to me, the kindness shown. I am always impressed with Baptist Heart Specialist group. Love my Dr. Alejandro Pena, he always walks into the room with such authority and confidence like a rock star ✨
My heart and my blood are both full of infection. I'm here for six weeks and then possible open heart surgery and then more time here. I would rather be nowhere lol! They take very very good care of me and meet all of my needs great job Baptist
Just left after waiting over 5 hours to be seen. There were other people that had been there longer than me and hadn’t been seen either. Just a total waste of time . The wait is just ridiculous. Never returning and definitely don’t recommend.
Make sure you stay on top of the staff when you have loved ones here…they will let them fall through the cracks and not take accountability of their wrong doings. Some are just plain old inconsiderate and have no compassion for patients and
Had to have emergency surgery and put on IV antibiotics for almost 8 weeks so I was in the hospital for about 2 months. I'm actually still in the hospital for the last 3 weeks this has been a great stay the staff has been amazing, the food
The process a person is required to go through to make an appointment with Baptist Doctors is such poor customer service and totally unacceptable. The recorded announcement always says the employee is busy helping other customers. Wait
If you are type 1 diabetic, DO NOT USE THIS HOSPITAL!! They do not properly manage diabetes. They do not give insulin to cover meals. When asked why they said it was "too hard to count carbs." For a HOSPITAL It feels like they are
Baptist Hospital does a great job, my Mom had to be emitted there recently and the Team did an excellent job. The Staff responded rapidly, It was extremely clean and they took precautions on people they let in the building. 5 Stars
From the beginning when I checked in with Vanessa, and she checked me in, with care and compassion she made the process as quickly as possible.then I met the nurse Marie who again was so kind and pleasant and allayed all my fears.
Visited 2x while 30w pregnant. Got ignored and told I was dehydrated. Got fluids, once with an 18g needle (nurses words) in my wrist, and sent home. Went to another hospital and they found the kidney infection almost immediately.
HORRIBLE. HORRIBLE SERVICE. Waited in the ER for TWO hours by 2am and still wasn't seen for a persisting issue of an INTERNAL INFECTION for OVER A MONTH. Id go to St. Vincents instead where they actually will prioritize you.
Labor and delivery nurses Karen, Linda, Robin and Jasmine were great!! They went above and beyond to make my client who was a first time mom feel so save, confident and happy to be delivering at Baptist. Thank you!!
Baptist Medical Center was a well run cohesive medical facility. The staff was fantastic, doctor Austin was great and I would not hesitate sending any loved one to Baptist Medical Center for care. R. Enright
I did the online check-in. When I arrived they confirmed my identity and took me back for my testing within a few minutes. The technician was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. Very good experience!
The staff were all friendly, professional and prompt. We laughed a lot during my stress test process! I felt very comfortable with the ladies. They made me feel like family. What a wonderful experience!
What an amazing team you have there. I'm serious when I tell you that the office has a most positive vibe with the staff members I saw. I can't thank all of you enough for a wonderful experience. -Paul
One horrible horrible hospital. In seven day only one meal was the one I ordered and many of nurses were in training and didn't know a thing. This hospital baptist South is a hell hole. Stay away
I had my first child here in December 2022. Words cannot describe how amazing each and every person was here on staff. I would recommend this hospital to anyone wanting to have their child here!
Staff here at heart center are amazing. Everyone is so nice and gentle with my loved one...... 4 hours later we are still waiting for a dr. signature so we can leave. I'm down to 2 stars
I will never in my life come back to this hospital. I literally been here 6 hours in counting and nobody has told me a thing. This is by far the worse service I have ever encountered.
I had major surgery at Baptist. I was so impressed with the professionalism and organization of the staff. And I adore Dr. Buckley, who did the surgery, and his entire office team.
All of the staff is very friendly. I had very little wait for my echo. The radiologist tech was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. Highly recommend.
I really appreciate promptness when I arrive for an appointment. Not only were they ready, but were friendly while executing their jobs. It was a good balance!
Nadia Black on 5th floor deserves praise and RN Matt in ICU and Sally, CNA went over and above with caring and respect for the patient snd the family members.
I have been with Baptist Healthcare for 3 years I very pleased with their system , they take care of all my health care under one roof, I like their systems.
The staff was amazing. Everyone explained the process step by step. Friendly and professional staff. At that moment in time I felt I was their only priority.
I think laughing and talking is better than sad and gloomy.. so I would love to see staff happy in a place that can be depressing.. cheer me up, I love it
The wait time for my testing was very reasonable. The entire staff was professional and courteous. I will definitely return for future testing needs.
Great experience! Friendly, caring staff! Beautiful facility, spotlessly clean! Took me on time and the tech was very friendly and quick! Lived that!
Triage workers Ashley Delana and Rsfshon were rude and disrespectful to me and the other gentleman they took another patient that came in after us
I was treated like I was the only patient there that morning. Everyone was friendly and acted like they truly enjoyed what they were doing!
You have to wait so long when you go to baptist hospital I wish that when you go there you doesn't have to wait so long to see a doctor
The staff is wonderful. They inspire confidence and are very supportive. The facilities are clean and pleasant. Even the food is good.
I just gave a review on the BMC request and now they want me to do it again. The first one was favorable, let's let it go at that.
