Long wait for a kitschy french absinthe bar. Felt like I was on an amusement park ride by the way we were lead down the stairs and through a concealed door. The stink from the bathrooms made it very difficult warm up to the space and to our drinks. The bar staff were irritable and unpleasant to interact with (can't blame them though, it was busy and miserable in there). We eventually were forced to leave after staying for 30 mins since we weren't ordering more drinks - short spell at the Sous Sol theme ride. Trick people you don't like into going here.

We made a reservation at Bar Sous Sol and the staff told us reservation will be ready in 40 minutes. We walked back in forth in the rain to our car and waited. Once we came back on our reservation time, they told us the owner of Bar Sous Sol decided to come with his guests and the reservations was not available anymore... they did not call us to even notify us of this. They just cancelled for the owner and had people wait for no reason. Horrible service and so inconsiderate, it shows a lot about the character of the owner to just disregard everyone who made a reservation for his own use! What kind of business does that!

I love it here. We come early, shortly after they open and get most of the bar to ourself. The bartenders have a chance to talk us through some menu items before it gets busy. Cocktails are always fabulous, well balanced and full of complex flavour. I’m let down by most bars in this city cause the drinks are overpowered by citrus or you can’t taste other layers of the drink. Not here. The bartenders put a lot of care into the different homemade syrups and infusions and it all really comes through.

We went this past Saturday night after having dinner at Maison Selby upstairs. The entire experience was perfect. Dinner was amazing, we had the 5 course tasting menu and plenty of well crafted cocktails. We were brought downstairs to Bar Sous Sol afterwards by the staff, where we were met with the amazingly talented mixologist Carlen. He crafted spectacular libations that enchanted our already perfect evening. Thank you Carlen, we will be back and we will send our friends. Cheers from Haven Salon.

Great experience, very well received. The concept of the hidden bar is excellent,a very chic, glamorous decor with filtered light. The team is very nice, the Barman makes delicious cocktail with passion. I recommend this place for a date or even with friends. However I advise not to come more than 4/5 people because the place is small ( which makes its charm) and it’s without reservation. Love this place!

Atmosphere definitely gives you that speakeasy intimate, cozy vibe. The cocktail menu is the same as upstairs and there are food options from upstairs as well like the French onion soup. We thought they would have a different menu tbh, so we came down after having dinner for drinks. Still glad we checked it out.

They made us wait an hour but were letting other people down. The drinks were alright overpriced and I think they were trying to do something different but the fact they made us wait and didn't give us a time or explanation about when it was our turn was a let down on service.

Phenomenal place. Love the decor and the vibe. It’s very chill and the atmosphere goes great with their amazing cocktails. Highly recommended.

Delicious cocktails. Had a salad for a snack and the only critique of that was as a Caesar the dressing could have been creamier, and hold the olives! Otherwise a lovely joint that I'll come back to again!

SO much fun! The upper part is sophisticated and would be perfect for a nice date & then the downstairs is the speakeasy which was a cool vibe!

Ambience and decor are great and the cocktails are solid, but I wish there were more options on their food menu.

Intimate and cozy spot with a classy dimly lit atmosphere. Good drinks. Ideal for small groups of 2-4.
