I cannot tell you how upset I am with the way I was treated by the pharmacist Rebecca West when receiving my booster vaccine injection. Let me paint the picture; I rang on Monday enquiring about booster shots. I had been trying to get into the website to book a Pfizer but there was a little glitch so rang. The lady I spoke to was so lovely and so helpful & was given an appointment for 7pm on Tuesday night which I was very grateful. I received a phone call late Tuesday afternoon explaining there was no person to administer the injection therefore that appointment had to be cancelled. I was a little concerned as I had missed out on trying to book another appointment somewhere else for the entire day & was going interstate to see my mother who lives in residential care and had not seen her for 10 mths due to border closures. I wanted to be safe for all those that live there. I was given another appt for the next day. I arrived and Rebecca stated I was having Moderna. I said, “Oh I thought it was Pfizer?” She repeated, “You booked for a Moderna vaccination so that is what I have here.” I made a simply comment; I was told Pfizer was better for Astra Zeneca so I’m a little confused. She said, “Who told you that?” I replied it was another location that mentioned that to me. Rebecca then repeated her statement, “You booked in for the Moderna so that is what I have here for you.” I said, “I’m in your hands as I’m not a medical practitioner so you would know more than me, so …. Before I could finish she got extremely impatient and defensive, flung open the door and said, “I don’t think we should go ahead!” I told her ok, I’m fine having the Moderna . To say I was shocked is an understatement. I simply asked a couple of questions and she was beyond rude. She then went to walk out stating,, “You need to read some material, you can sit out here while I get it for you.” I said to her, “I said I am fine having the injection” but she had walked out on me by this time. The door was open, so I stayed where I was. She came back and gave me some forms. I said,” You are being extremely rude to me when I am asking some simply questions. I have a right to ask these questions have I not?” “Yes” she replied. She then walked out again. It was a consent form she gave me, not information. I signed it and then she proceeded to give me the injection with no gloves on and when she tore off the dressing, stuck it on the back of her hand with the cotton ball facing her skin, then stuck that on my arm. Not great hygiene but I was too scared to say anything because she may react badly, again. This woman was rude, dismissive and downright insensitive. She could have taken less than five minutes to give me some reassurance or offer some insight when I was clearly asking for it. It was not a big deal but she made it one. And let me add, when I asked her to close the door when she came back in, as I felt embarrassed by her treatment of me, she left it open only closing it when giving me the injection. Somewhere in there she made the comment that ‘they’ were doing me a favour by fitting me in! I did not respond to that comment. I left your chemist so incredibly upset and was really shaken by her treatment and attitude that I sent them an email and did not put on a review as I felt it was not fair because one person’s behaviour does not reflect the business as a whole. 13 days later I’ve not received a reply or acknowledgment of my complaint. I was not rude to her. I was not aggressive. I was not combative. I simply asked some questions having an expectation the person administrating the vaccine was more informed that me. Humiliation was not what I expected when I came to your chemist and to leave feeling that way is an experience I will not forget for some time. I feel it’s necessary to forewarn people attending because they clearly don’t care if someone has been treated badly or they would respond to my initial email which to date they have failed to do.

Three generations of our family have relied on Bart's the Chemist to provide exceptional care for a range of conditions over some 20 years. There is no rule that schedules life's hiccups exclusively to business hours, but whenever these befell, kind and sensible people were at hand to listen and to guide. Ventolin after a late night asthma episode, nutrition drinks during cancer recovery, COVID shots during and after the pandemic, Webster packs for my elderly father and a wheelchair once his mobility had been lost. Rebecca has been a constant, the consummate health care professional, caring, positive and super knowledgeable and competent. Our family have been the beneficiaries of these amazing people over many, many years and may this continue for many more. Thank you Rebecca and team. Awesome pharmacy.

On the 13/1/18 I filled a prescription for Tritase and a couple of other medications, this time I was charged $20.00 for the Tritase when I normally get charged $8.00. I only realized this few days later when I was going to take my meds and noticed the price. I returned to the pharmacy to get my refund but they refused to do so. They told me they will put a note in the system to make sure that I get the $8.00 price the next time I get my prescription filled. I will definitely not be going back to Bart's ever again and will make sure that I get all my prescriptions from Chemist Warehouse around the corner on Napean Hwy. No Stars from me

They are lucky that they are given even 1 star. I am disappointed and disgusted at the fact that if you have an exemption from wearing a mask, you are told to wait outside and be served outside the store. Pure discrimination. AND illegal. I feel sorry for the staff who have to push this stupid and ridiculous rule. Never going back there again EVER. I'll go to chemist warehouse around the corner from now on where I'm treated like a human being and not like diseased animal. Wake up and read the countless laboratory studies that have proven time and time again that masks DON'T work. Even WHO have said this many times. Sjame on you Barts

I have never written a review on anything before but I am so shocked by the behaviour there this morning I have decided to write. We turned up for our COVID Vac booked online and confirmed. The Pharmacist was so rude she screamed to us that there was no appointments today she didn’t have staff. When we questioned our confirmed booking she literally continued filling prescriptions hoping we would go away. Every time she spoke to us it was so rude and loud. She refused to apologise at all, even after being asked by her assistant. Customer service Zero

Mary the pharmacist at Barts on a Thursday and Friday night is INCREDIBLE!! I have Fibromyalgia so when illness hits I am in ALOT of pain and turn into an indecisive 4 year old and Mary listens and is calm and kind and makes me feel heard when most people just fob it off as dramatic. She then has such a good understanding of medications that whatever she suggests gives instant relief. I am actually so upset to be sick on any other day of the week when she isn't there. Used to come in at least fortnightly with my nan, to organise her medication. Portia provided the BEST service with a smile, and always answered questions my nan had even if she had the same questions on repeat. I am so saddened to hear she has ’moved on’, I’d actually reconsider bringing nan here in the future, as the other staff in the dispensary are TERRIBLE with customer service with 0 patience. Evidently, I’ve realised the other reviews are quite consistent!! Please improve your customer service!!

I came in for a simple ventolin and seretide at 630 pm for asthma I was happy to wait until my turn as there were many people But several people came in after me and got their scripts and finally at 7 pm I asked about this and I was told they were busy and I was ignored and then they served another customer and I was told that ventolin and seretide was complicated At 717 I finally got my ventolin and seretide I really don't know what to think about this I

In my opinion, the entire team at Barts are second to none: efficient and effective in that they remain open until 10 pm and I’m yet to think of anytime that I’ve been forced to wait any longer than a couple of minutes. Furthermore, they are always so incredibly nice and friendly! Thank you guys, it’s definitely worth mentioning that great customer service is more often than not, a privilege and not a right. Pharmarist was not understanding of cultural events as my partner couldn't consume any medications via mouth during daylight hours due to fasting but the pharmacist still insisted he take med even though he suggested reversing the time and making it night time. I also had a bad experience here myself when the counter staff was rude to me and was using their mobile phone while I was waiting at the counter. It's a good location though.

I came here last week to pick up some medication. Usually I go to chemist warehouse around the corner but because of the time of night it wasn’t open. I found the gentleman pharmacist friendly and helpful. But the lady sales assistant was rude and sarcastic. There’s no need to make personal comments to customers, just do your job. Won’t be returning again, chemist warehouse is cheaper, quicker and surprisingly more professional.

I regularly have prescriptions filled here and the service is professional, fast, and friendly. The shop is brightly lit and well stocked with all your chemist needs at reasonable prices. I recently had my covid booster shot here as well and it was a wonderful experience. No waiting, I didn't even feel the jab and even received a Fantale lolly for being a good patient!

Great people. They let me bring my little puppy into the store. They also provided a great service in requesting from a compound pharmacy rather than me having to go to that pharmacy (which was much further away). So, really convenient service and they do what they say they're going to do. Great integrity.

An excellent local chemist that I’ve been regularly attending for a while now. The ease of keeping my scripts on file, good advice from a friendly team & the offering of home delivery if need be, makes it easy to come back to. Never waited longer than 5 minutes for a script either.

Pharmacist in charge was rude , acted like I wasn’t in the store as she began to talk about her day to the assistant while waiting. Then refused to give me medicine that my doctor had recommended when I was visibly coughing , and went on to tell me I was being rude.

Always amazing customer service at Barts! Especially between Rebecca, Portia and Dayle who have been so helpful helping me get my diabetes medications organised before my travels. Always attentive and prompt and go over and above to help me out. Thanks team!

Been coming here for over 10 years. Excellent service, and great staff, very friendly and helpful! The pharmacists (especially Rebecca) will go out of their way to help in any way they can. Even if they don't stock a product they get it in the next day.

We have been coming here for years and I had to finally post a comment Rebecca the pharmacist is just amazing, she is so helpful nothing is too much trouble and watching her with elderly customers she is so caring and truly just amazing!

Service is fine and efficient. Generic prescription was more than double the price paid at chemists used previously in the area. Would recommend collecting prescription medication elsewhere.

Have been coming here for 35 years so handy with late opening hours, the staff they have now are so helpful and friendly and it’s so close to home which is a bonus. Easy to get a carpark.

Was waiting for 30 minutes just for them to tell me they dont have the compound I was waiting for. Additionally they misread my prescription. Do not recommend

Update : Rebecca was very helpful and understanding of my concerns, and at 8am the next morning they contacted me to resolve the issue.
