I brought in my wife's gshock watch to have the battery replaced. The guy was quick and it cost me 15 bucks. She wore the watch that night and we went swimming. Something she had done a thousand times with that watch. . . And after 20 min she noticed the face had condensation in it. She took it off so we could dry it out. I returned to the store and told them what happened. To which the guy told me "G-SHOCK watches are splash resistant. Not water proof" but I'll look and see if I can dry it out but if it doesn't work it's not my fault" so I leave it and return today to get it. And after doing my own research the very watch in question is infact waterproof up to 20 bar which for us non divers is 200 ft of waterproofness. So swimming for 20 min in a 3ft home pool would not effect the watch . So i explain to the man it is in fact a waterproof watch and clearly you did not put on the casing right and water got in and ruined the watch. But would he admit it was his fault NO. Instead he told me that the watch had rust on it probably from a button that leaked the water. . . . Yet we have never had a prior issue with this watch before them changing the battery. I was not rude I took photos to document what they claimed as rust on the watch but I am extremely disappointed that they would not own up to the fact that they simply didn't put the watch together right and now I am out a $250 watch because of their mistake. I will never purchase anything from there or take anything I own there. The pictures are of the alleged rust on the white part........

Avoid this place, poor quality work that they do not back. They are simply dishonest and do not deal in good faith. I brought in two watches to have the batteries replaced in them. After about 20 minutes I was returned one with the battery changed and I was shown that the minute hand on the chronograph had come loose on the other watch. I agreed to the price and authorized the repair. Upon picking up the watch I noticed that the minute and hour hands of the chronograph were not set properly. As I explained to the jeweler what was wrong he simply said yes he noticed that after his repair the watch was not working properly. I informed him that the watch worked fine until the battery went dead and I brought it to him to fix. He basically said that he wasn't responsible for the hand not working even though that's the hand I just paid him to repair. He could not understand that not only did he not repair the minute hand properly but also damaged the hour hand. So now I am left with a rather expensive chronograph watch that is in need of more repairs on top of what I paid already thanks to Bay Area Jewelers.

If i could leave zero stars I would. This company is crooked. Period end of story. tried to pass off a 10k while gold wedding band for platinum. When tried to return it the following day we were told it was a $250.00 restocking charge plus 3% charge on credit card.I called the owner of the place the next day (Richard) and he said it was only 10% of sales price for restocking fee. Wife went back to the store to complain and they ended up selling her a 14k white gold ring with diamond chips instead of stones for 300 more... go figure. Finally ended up just settling for the 1st 10k white gold ring with 1k of diamonds. Took to another jewelry store to have sized and they are uncertain if they can even size the ring because it's hollow! Lesson learned for my poor wife. THIS PLACE IS NOT A REPUTABLE PLACE TO BUY ANYTHING. THEY ALSO HAVE NO RETURN POLICY! EVEN MALL JEWELRY STORES HAVE A 30 DAY RETURN OR EXCHANGE WITH NO RESTOCKING CHARGE! IN BUSINESS FOR OVER 30 YEARS AND A 3.9 REVIEW RATING. SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!

I had to have my wedding rings resized so I went to a well known jewelry store where they proceeded to tell me that 2 diamonds were missing on the engagement ring and then quoted me an outrageous amount to have my rings downsized and replace the diamonds so, I decided to go to Bay Area Jewelers to see what they would the job for and I was blown away. Not only did they do it for a fraction of the price of the other jewelers but the informed me that the “missing diamonds” were not missing they just needed to be cleaned (even though the other jeweler said they cleaned it for me not 10 minutes prior). I picked them up the next day and they did a fantastic job. The staff is friendly and my rings look wonderful! I will definitely recommend them and use them again for my future jewelry needs.

Used to be the Nicest and professional people... But.. what to say now!!! This moring happend to be at the Bay Brook all parking lot and I was trying to enter into my car at 10.05 am, a car with Bay area Jewelers name on the side was pulling in at an excessive speed and almost run over me. Then started useing unexplainable words. (There was no shortage of parking area.. so its not a parking space issue) May be that lady was late to open the business or has some other issue due to the stress. From my past experience with the Bay Area Jewelers it was hard for me to believe a person with this type of attitude belogs to a nice organization., especially when she drives a vehicle with the business name displayed. Wish her a calm attitude and nice to people..

The actually deserve 0 stars I took them a bracelet to fix and when I got there to pick it up it still had the same crack they charged me to fix , I could hold it up to the light and see the light shine through. When I brought it to the jewelers attention he stated that’s the way it was and nothing could be done to fix the crack on my gold bracelet. So I was lied to because I was told it was repairable when I dropped it off, second I paid for a jewelry repair I never received. Please please please listen to my experience and do not take jewelry to this shop for repair they like to charge but not actually do the work required to fix it. The customer service was horrible no attempts were made to correct this mistake.

I have been going here for twenty+ years. I recently took in a vintage Rolex watch to get work done with plans on selling it. I dropped the watch off on October 7, and was waiting on them to talk to the watchmaker and get a number. My office received a call from someone there who was extremely rude. When my co-worker told them I wasn't in he told them that if I didn't come get it they were going to scrap it and that it had been there for "months". Apparently, beside being a complete jerk he can't read dates. I went in and picked it up and told them I wouldn't ever be back. DON'T GO THERE! They may have reasonable prices and used to do good work but it's not worth being treated like crap.

Brought in a pearl necklace and bracelet to get the clasps repaired. Each had different sized pearls, 7.0 and 6.5 respectively. They chopped both strings and put it together as one long strand which was horribly done, bunched in some areas, loose in others and returned the extra clasp (didn't they think to stop and wonder why they had an extra clasp?). They wouldn't correct the error without an extra charge. Paid for the shoddy job, just to get them out of there and brought them to a real jeweler. Finally was refunded the "destroy" cost after involving the credit card company.

I have done business with this store for over 20 years. All jewelry repair and ring sizing done to perfection. Yes. Very professional, focused, knowledgeable store personnel promptly assist you immediately when you walk in. You must wait a second to enter.. they control who enters. Tight security and surveillance. Very sound establishment. That is where I take all of my valuables for repair/ cleaning. Plus there is also beautiful jewelry you will want to look at and buy. A+++++++

CROOKED...I took my 18k gold Concord watch because the stem came off. They replaced the stem and claimed to have thrown away the original (18k gold) when I asked for it. I was given a bent stem they had to get it from the shredder. Who puts a stem (smaller than a needle) in a shredder? Don’t go to this place. It is concerning that a jeweler can’t recognize an 18K gold watch.

SHOULD BE ZERO STARS!!! Horrible customer service. Walked in looked at diamonds, asked about a diamond. The salesman did not know much. He went behind counter and asked the jeweler to help me. The jeweler looked right at me and SCREAMED NO!!! I immediately left. No way to treat a American. I am a Caucasian women. Could this be race related?? Never going back!!!

I have been doing repairs of my jewelry in this store for a very long time now. Recently I bought a diamond bracelet and had it appraised elsewhere. Guess what? I got myself an amazing deal, plus it turns out that a bracelet has all the good quality diamonds in it. I am very happy, so thank you Bay Area Jewelers.

Bay Area Jewelers removed 5 links from my tennis bracelet. I had my bracelet back within 2 days looking better than when I brought it in. They cleaned it and made it look like new! I forgot how pretty the bracelet could look. I have always had a great experience at Bay Area Jewelers. Highly recommend.

I've been having my watch batteries replaced here for years. Usually $15 and done in 15 minutes. Just today I had a pin replaced in my TAG for $13 and done in 10 minutes. They've always been very friendly and seem to have a great selection of jewelry and watches. East and convenient to get to.

Had batteries replaced here for years. Usually less than $10 in and out. This time charged $27 and I knew I was getting ripped off when the sales person rang up $16 which what the price should have been. She forgot she quoted me her inflated price. Done with this place.

This jeweler used to be really good. We took a watch to them for a new battery. A month later the battery exploded in the watch. Save your receipt!!!!!!! The watch was back in there 3 more times after that and $75 later it is working!
