PRO-TIP for lazy fathers: Bring your little kids in and help them dig through some Cat in the Hat books. Get three books that you don't have yet, and hand your kid a few dollar bills and let them pay for their treasures at the counter. Teach them please-and-thankyou at the shop, and then teach them a little patience to wait until they're home to unpack their stories. Congratulations dad, you just invested 30 minutes to create a positive experience that your child will remember forever. Don't get grumpy if they fuss about only getting 3 books, or having to wait until they're home to read them. They're excited, and the more they whine about it just proves how much it all meant to them. There's a good chance that you'll have good memories of this trip, too! We take our kids there about once a month. They have too many books now, but I'm glad that they spontaneously choose a trip to the book store over anything else. Subsequent trips will be easier for you because the little monsters remember where the kid's section is, and they know the routine of exchanging the dollars and patiently clutching their bounty.

I have been going to Bearly Read Books for at least 30 years now. They have a great selection, and the owner keeps it well stocked. She has been making changes by trying to get rid of the older stuff to make room for the newer books everybody is after, she also has some pretty great deals. If you haven't been you should go and check it out you won't be disappointed. I love it there, there is nothing finer than walking into a bookstore and seeing the huge selection, paranormal, mystery by lady authors, mystery by men authors, horror, sci-fi, romance, historicals, some non-fiction, self help, vintage and inspirational to name a few of the catagories. This used bookstore is a GEM!! Every time I go, I leave with an armful of books - modern fiction from authors I love, an excellent romance or two from their HUGE selection, and usually a wonderful sci-fi treasure too! The store is packed with wonderful choices of hard-to-find books, organized beautifully, and the folks who own it and work there are kind, friendly, funny, and helpful. With all of the local restaurants with a long waiting list for any meal, we decided to get take out from the casino deli. It was very easy ordering, fairly short wait and actually really good food.. first night had cod & chips with clam chowder (great clam chowder) and the second day for lunch we had hamburgers they to enter really good and there have tons of additions to choose from for your burger

Been going to this bookstore for years. It has so many catagories and a wide selection it's hard to leave without finding something. The pricing is reasonable, friendly helpful service. If she doesn't have it she'll order it for you if you want. She also ships so if you're not local give her a call. Great used book store you can't go wrong!! And she has cats!

What a wonderful little used book store! The staff is super friendly, courteous and knowledgeable about whatever you seek. Their books are very well organized, and we were able to locate what we wanted very quickly. If you love to read, this is the perfect place for you, and buying from them also helps the local economy, especially during the pandemic!

This little book store is amazing. We drive by it all the time and just got around to stopping by a couple of days ago. We went in to see if they had Children's books for our son. We left with about 8 books for our son and 8 books for my wife. We'll definitely be going there more often. Great prices and the books are in really good condition.

A place I always like to visit when in Portland. Found mystery novels,romance, Northwest bird book. Gardening books. My daughter lives near by and visits there often. She took some of her used books back got credit for them. When we checked out was applied to what we owed. Wery good prices. Friendly person to help if u need it.

Bearly Read Books is a great little shop if you're after fiction - there are shelves upon shelves of romance, western, scifi, fantasy and horror. There's a good amount of true-crime as well. They don't carry much in the way of classical literature, but what I did find was nice and cheap.

Found some amazing books and can not wait to go back. I don't have much time to read now a days but this was a treasure of a find!!!!!! Some minor damages to my new favorite book ever but well worth it. They have amazing prices and again amazing finds. I'm gonna head there now actually

Great place to return books you have read and get more to read. I have been trading books there for quite sometime now and love it. The owner is very friendly and very helpful. For those of us that still actually like to hold a book and read you will love it. I suggest everyone try it.

The classic stacks-upon-stacks used book store. Has a sizeable Western and Historic section. They also have a large selection of classic Star Trek books. There is a bookstore cat on premises, though it was snoozing under the counter when I visited.

Very nice bookstore! All books are in great condition and, from what I understand, you pay half the cover price or less for them. They also give you store credit for used books in good condition. I am certainly going back to browse soon!

Wow! First time going there today and I walked out with six books for $15. Two of them were free. The owner was very kind, and even gave me some free bookmarks. Wish I'd heard of the place before. I'll be back as soon as I finish these!

It is cat lady heaven. Lots of used romance novels and cats with warning signs. The place is kind of a maze but it is tidy and the books are fairly easy to find if you are looking g for something.
