Poor service! I’ve gone to Jodi 4 times because she’s there on Sundays. This place has never been known for service. Regardless for what you go there for. Each time I got my hair done by her it got significantly worse. She’d charge me for a trim but barely cut my hair and leave it so uneven I’d had to fix it myself. Never could blow dry my hair correctly, she would leave it wet, and curly. I would tell her that I wanted my hair blow dried completely dry and straight. Some parts of my hair would be just right other sides looked curly and wet. My color never looked like the picture I wanted. She would say color cannot lift color. I moved from Florida to Missouri and I can tell you that I never had this problem till I moved to Missouri. All the pictures I showed her are hair colors I had in the past and I have pictures with these hair colors but I could never get what I asked. She colored my hair how she wanted. She would make racist comments like “Oh you can actually pull off that pink lipstick”. She told me I lived in a snooty neighborhood and that’s not something you tell someone. Once she had crest white strips in her mouth which isn’t professional and she could careless that I couldn’t understand her. She would always say she was about money and doing my hair took a lot of time so she would book people in between me. She destroyed 6 shirts with hair color even after I told her every time that this was happening. She deliberately would color my hair on the cape so the hair color would pass through to my shirt. I would ask for her to put a towel underneath, sometimes she would, sometimes she’d giggle and say afterwards, I forgot. She just didn’t care. She always wanted to know about my employers, how much money they brought in, which is none of her business. The staff at this place always sucks, they never greet you, they never know how to ring up discounts. Managers never solve your issues. The last straw was on 12/16/2017, every time I’ve made an appointment I tell the receptionist each thing I’m going to have done and tell her please do not short me of my time because this is an issue every time. She said don’t worry you have plenty of time, Jodi would complain that the staff was unreliable and would get fired or quit all the time so when I got there she was not in a good mood. She was in a rush. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I just have to hope it will come out the way I wanted. As usual she took 2 people and I waited until she said it was time to wash my hair. She blow dried it barely and left my hair looking like a lion, it was wet and said okay I’m done, I don’t have enough time there’s another client because you didn’t book your appointment properly and I said yes I did and and I’m not happy with my hair and she turned my chair around and said well I don’t have enough time there’s another client and walked away and printed my ticket and I walked over to her and she handed it to me. My mother walked over to her and she was furious and she said what is this? I said, she says she doesn’t have enough time because apparently it’s my fault that I didn’t book my time correctly. My mother said that’s not true and this is bad service. The receptionist intentionally ignored us. As I walked away, Jodi had this big smile on her face and stood with the receptionist and started laughing really loud. The whole time I had to wait for a cashier and this client never showed up and I just kept staring at her with disgust because she just couldn’t stop laughing at me because the receptionist was looking at me as well. It was 37 degrees and I suffer from migraines which she was aware of. When the cashier asked how I liked my services I said I hated them. She did nothing to get a manager. I emailed customer service. It took them some time to get back to me and they asked for my number and I gave them my cell number and I never received a call back. I tried to get my money back from my credit card company but since she provided a service regardless of how bad the outcome she deserved to get paid was the answer I got back.

Worst salon experience I have ever had. When I called to ask how much it would be for short haircut and highlights I was quoted $76. in their defense, I did not know, as getting my hair done is a luxury I can seldom afford, that there would be an extra charge because first they had to bleach before they could do plum highlights. I met with a beautician whom I have never had before. She never introduced herself, or had much of a conversation the entire 2 hours plus I was there. I had asked if she could cut hair from a picture I had in my phone, to which she replied I'll try. From the very moment she called my name to come back I felt she didn't want to be there at all.I felt like I was getting an attitude from her from the get-go. when my highlights turned out burgundy, she seemed put out by having to add more to make it plum, which is what I had asked for from the beginning. The haircut that I asked for was not anything I thought would be difficult for anyone working at a salon that charges what they charge. She had to ask another stylist how to get lift in my haircut. Bottom line is I left with color I could not see and a cut that wasn't much like what I had asked for. I am very disappointed with the service I received, and disappointed with myself for letting myself feel intimidated by my stylist not to complain to the manager.

The four stars are STRICTLY for Brittany and her lash service. It's really five stars but one less due to the the actual store. She went above and beyond and did the best lash strip application I've had. Initially, I walked in and saw three or four employees standing at the front counter. Not a one spoke or greeted me. That should have been my first red flag (besides the fact there were so many open appt blocks and Barry Rd was booked). I walk to the salon counter and AGAIN, I stand there for about six minutes. There are at LEAST five or six stylists working and can see me standing there. There was no greeting, no acknowledgement that a human being was even standing there. To add insult to injury, I came for a hair wash and a flat iron. The system just showed a flat iron. I explained the whole reason I came was to get it washed first. There was no accomodation, no concern. A wash and a blow dry would have been sufficient. I was told that I should have called rather than booked online. I ALWAYS go to the Barry Rd location and the differences between the two are night and day. I have never received such customer service from a Beauty Brands out of the numerous times I've been to one. Obviously, I won't be returning.

I just got my haircut there today and the woman I was scheduled with wasn't even there, so I was put with someone random! I normally don't complain about anything but I've never been more upset about something. I went in wanting a trim with layers and bangs. The lady who cut my hair asked if a half inch was enough and I said that was perfect. Thinking a half inch was all that would be taken off!! As she was cutting my hair I was noticing a lot of my hair falling to the floor. I told myself it was just the layers but when she finished, about two inches were gone and the layering she did to shape my face looked like a 5 year old did it. When looking at the back of my hair I see no layers. I now have to go some place else and pay more money to get it fixed and potentially get more cut off, which is not what I wanted in the first place! I know hair grows back but hair is a big part of what makes you feel beautiful and I haven't stopped crying because of it. I will never go back to beauty brands or suggest anyone else. I asked for a simple haircut and I got a botched one.

Awful customer service. My mother, whom is on crutches and in a cast from her waist to knee from hip surgery was in there for 15 minutes by herself and was not welcomed in, asked if she needed any help or anything. There were only 2 customers in the store, my mother being one.She dropped something and another customer helped her pick it up. I was at another store grabbing something quick and when I got back to beauty brands I was also not welcomed in or asked if I needed anything. I helped her find what she needed, then at checkout the cashier was rude,lazy/disinterested. After helping my mother in the car I went back inside the store with her items and said everything above to the manager, manager sucked and upon walking back to the register the cashier said "I dropped something earlier" which I replied "I'm sorry no one was there to help you pick it up". Snarky comments and horrible customer service= failing store.

I’ve seen Wendy McConnell for the past 20 years and will continue to see her as long as I have hair! She’s the only person I trust with my hair! I’ve seen her in Lee’s Summit, traveled to Blue Springs and then Independence, and now to Liberty, and will continue to travel to see her! She’s a master at color and at keeping your hair healthy throughout your time with her….and at repairing and bringing it back to healthy if you decide to go against her advice (I had to try the ice blonde look and well the hair broke off‍♀️). If only I could show pictures of my hair throughout my time with her and allllll the different colors, styles and up-do’s for events she’s masterfully done for me, you’d see for yourself. If you want someone who knows what she’s doing, someone you can stick with for life or as long as she does hair, call Wendy McConnell!

The thing appealing about Beauty Brands is that they sell mostly premium hair care products. You don't need to worry about having too many to choose from and be concerned you're going to end up with a low quality product. Some of the best brands on the market are available here and they are more affordable whenever there is a sale going on. Sign up for the Beauty Brands rewards program so you can get emails of sales and earn points to redeem as rewards later. I was able to try out products I've been eager to use without having to pay full price or drive way out of my way to purchase. Oh! Beauty Brands also has a hair & nail salon setup at this location. It's always fun checking out the before/after pictures to see what's been done. I have personally never had a service of this nature before but have heard good things!

I called this location in liberty, mo to see if they had any available appointments to do a haircut on 8/21 for the day. It was currently 12:15pm, she said she had a 12:30 available. I said I live 15 min away but I can head there now. She said okay. I got there a few min after 12:30 due to traffic, I figured they would be expecting that considering I just spoke with them and I told them how far I was. When I arrived they told me they would have to rebook me and started rattling other dates off. I said I just spoke with someone and said I was on my way. Then the lady I spoke with says “that was me, I said 12:30” and I replied I told you how far I was. I then said ok I guess I’ll go somewhere else then. Very unprofessional and a big waste of my time. Would not recommend going here.

Asked for an overall brown and told the stylist prior to starting that my hair pulls red. She didn't listen, my hair pulled red and I started crying at the finished product. She then went to "correct it" and now my hair is black. I left the salon bawling and then still made me pay $50 for the product. Not to mention it took 3.5 hours and freezing in the salon. UPDATE 1/23: After speaking with Corporate (contacted via Twitter), I got my refund. They had one of the managers reach out to me and when I asked why she allowed me to walk out of the salon crying, she said she tried to call me later that day but I never received a call. Regardless, I did get my money back which was the right thing to do, so I'm changing my review from a 1 to 3.

DO NOT go here to get a blow out. They advertise that they do them, but didn't even have the right supplies for a true blow out. All the stylist did was wash my hair & then start to blow dry & style. When I asked her why she wasn't using a huge round brush & large setting curlers she looked confused & said, "I'm not sure we even have those things, let me check in the back." What??!! Their staff isn't even trained to do a true blow out. They shouldn't be advertising that they off them. Stick to a blow dry bar if you're looking for one. Not only that, but in the middle of doing my hair her next appointment showed up & I waited 45 minutes for her to get back to me. I was so upset I almost walked out. I just wanted to get out of there.

The ladies that answer the phone are not very polite to the customers calling in and they sound like they hate their jobs. Initially when I have called I gave them The benefit of the doubt maybe they were having a bad day but it seems to the norm. The only reason I continue to go to this store is because of the waxing specialist Jacqueline who is wonderful and the best waxing specialist I have ever had and she has great customer service skills. However, beware when you call you be placed on hold for long periods and possibly get another rude and short receptionist who answers the phone. I am giving the my waxing service FIVE stars but the customer service/ professionalism of the team members who answer the phone is TWO stars.

My friend and I both went for an appointment together and we both left very unhappy. After calling and speaking with a manager they agreed to let us get our hair fixed at no charge. I got a call the day before my "redo appointment" from the stylist that was going to be fixing my hair (Pamela). She asked if I could come in so she could see what she was needing to be done. So I came in. After looking through my hair she told me that I was wrong and that my hair was suppose to look the way it did. She then refused to redo my hair and said "They have you down for four hours. I'm here to make money and I'm only here for eight hours." I definitely would not recommend this place. Some very rude and inexperienced women.

Went in for a haircut to try and fix a disastrous one given to me back in May by Ulta salon. Julie, the stylist assigned to me could not have been nicer and more understanding when I explained what had happened and what I wanted going forward. She truly listened to me, looked through photos I had for ideas, assessed my hair type and current length, and worked with me on my ideas. She knew her stuff and what would or wouldn't work, but was willing to bring suggestions to the table to get me as close to what I wanted. I could not have been more thrilled when she finished, it was even better than I could have hoped for!! Will definitely be going back for another appointment when needed!

I had a 4 PM appt I get there 10 mins early , I check in and let them know I was there but early & was going to look around .No Problem they say she will be right with you I finish doing my shopping & go sit and wait for them to come get me . ( Its 4:00 now the time of my appt ) . I wait & I wait finally at 4:20 I go up & ask , They say we are trying to fine somebody to do me , the girl I was scheduled with didnt come in.. OMG really they let me sit there knowing she was not there. I just shake my head & walked out & they let me . No apology, no lets reschedule, no nothing very bad way to run Business.. If they just would of told me when First got there ..

Brooke was FABULOUS! I was running late for my flight to KC. I ended up on the plane with wet hair and had a meeting a few hours after landing. Not knowing the area, I booked online with the only stylist that was available in my time frame and hope for the best. Brooke introduced herself as my stylist and took me back. I told her my dilemma and what I needed. She was so friendly and offered lots of fun things to do and great restaurants. She did my hair in 20 or 25 minutes. It looked great and I felt so much better about my presentation. I would go back to her in a heartbeat. The cashier was also very friendly. The whole experience was great.

Awful experience with the regional manager. She told the Liberty MO store to not serve me any longer, after I became upset that someone or somehow my appointments were lost 3 times within 3 month at various times. I have been a customer there for 5 years and no problems, until now. They do not want to admit they did anything wrong and blame me for being upset when appointments were lost and not on manicurist or other professional’s scheduled. I did not cancel them, somehow they were cancelled or someone cancelled them, due to their scheduling booking system. Regional Manger will not even return my call, in order to clear the situation up.

Today I had a 545 appointment. I arrived at 540 and checked in. At 6 I asked how much longer and the receptionist stated the stylist was still with a customer. She then left for the day leaving me standing there. At 605 the stylist noticed me but never even acknowledged me. I left. Could of been handled much better. How about letting me know how long the wait will be or offer to reschedule? Last time I was there the stylist left before I got there they said they tried to call me but I did t have any missed call. They did find someone else to do my hair and gave me a discount but the whole situation regarding customer service is horrible

If you want to leave with FABULOUS hair every time, I *HIGHLY* recommend a visit with Wendy McConnell! I originally scheduled an appointment with her at their Independence location roughly 7 years ago, and that's all it took for her to gain my hair's loyalty. It doesn't even matter that she's moved to Liberty, I *refuse* to let anyone else touch my hair -- she gives me the most flawless and vibrant red hues whilst keeping my hair in amazing condition. She even transitioned me to purple and back again with ease. And the cut? Huge shout-out and thank you to Wendy for always taking care of me! I love my hair!

My wife made three appointments for her and our daughters a week ago. Today, we got there 11 minutes late with an empty lobby and two stylists walking in the door with Starbucks and we were told that they were too busy. Upon applying some pressure they continued to not meet our expectations. Thought the best thing to do was to add to this thread of very poor customer focus. I am not sure how a business even stays in business with less than 2 stars, sorry for those that must put up with this level of horrendous customer service.

There is one reason I give this salon a five star rating: Barbara! My hairstylist Barbara has never let me down with a haircut and often exceeds my expectations on how well the cut will turn out. I often say I don't trust anyone else to out scissors to my hair, and I mean it. I have had her as my stylist for over 5 years and will continue to recommend her to everyone I know. She cares about what you want your hair to look like, she listens, and she sculpts your hair the way your specific hair requires to get the best results.

I had to edit my original review, because I did decide to give this location another try and have had nothing but positive experiences ever since! Originally I had some consistently less than great experiences with stylists for both me and my daughter, but I have found an absolutely amazing stylist that I am definitely going to stick with! We have been to her almost half dozen times now and we have left happy every single time. Even the people working up front have been friendly and helpful since my original review.

My manicurist (I hope I used the correct professional term--if I didn't, please forgive me), Rosemary, is a very caring, thoughtful, and talented public service provider. I wish everyone had such a great manicurist who loves what she does and shows it. The staff has always been very helpful and courteous! I love coming here to get my haircut by Hilary. She has been my hair stylist since she was in hair school. Always does a wonderful job, such a sweet person too. I have tried to go to someone else a couple times (I live 80 miles away from here) but always come up here to have her fix it! She always does a great job and I won't be going anywhere else! I booked the appointment for $46 and called to confirm price and appointment on October 28, 2016 at 3:55pm (CST). I also added a haircut to the appointment on this date after confirming price. I went to the location where beauty brands is in the same shopping center next to Carter's in liberty and when I walked into the door the girl that greeted me with so bubbly and nice wanted to help and she was just great my over all experience was awesome and I will be back to buy more and more stuff from them thanks for the customer service and thanks for Being such a good store in a good location

Brooke at the Liberty location is an absolute master with hair. She not only listened to what I wanted, but gave me so much more than I ever could have hoped for. She is a true artist with a gift! To Carynn Vandeputte. I go to Pamela and I've never had any problems. I always go to her and have never been disappointed. She's wonderful! All I can say is you had an issue with your hair before, you can't expect someone to work complete magic and completely fix a mistake by another hair dresser. And saying something rude about someone else online still doesn't fix your problem.

My 3 daughters and I got hair cuts here. A senior stylist, which is the most expensive stylist, cut my 16 and 14yr olds and mine as well and did a pretty poor job. My 11 yr olds stylist was not a senior stylist took her time, listened, and did a fantastic job, even despite the fact that she had to try and conceal a big chunk of hair that had been cut off in anger

Just stopped in for a gift card .But I was in there around 5 months ago to get a hair cut worse cut ever. I'm still trying to get it to grow out uneven, didn't do layers. You might ask why didn't I say something. Well I didn't see it until I got home and for sure if she could do it right the first time what was she going to do to fix her mess.

When I first left beauty brands I thought ok my hair looks good, but once I got home and really started looking threw my hair I hated it l. The color is very spotty. After one wash 90 percent of the color was gone except for the bleach she put in it so now I have half highlights on only the top off my head! I would not recommend!!!

I've been going to Jodi Smith most of this year. It took me a while to find a new stylist after my girl moved. Jodi works wonders on my difficult hair! She is an absolute doll and very talented. Disembodied voice from somewhere beyond. Bizarre product organization. Don't go in expecting to do an easy side by side product comparison. Worst of all, their POS is a couple decades old. So you still have to swipe a physical card AND sign a paper receipt. I don't remember the last time I've had to do that for less than $25?!?

Went it with my boyfriend so he could get his hair trimmed. He has long hair and wanted a few inches off. It was so uneven that it was ridiculous. One side was about 4 inches longer. If they can't even handle a trim they shouldn't be cutting hair.

If you have a nail tech, beautician or therapist you love, book online. I called several times to book with my favorite and was told she was already booked. Found out later that wasn't necessarily true.

Happy with their Crew products. But they need to restock during the liter sale. Not right that all the salons buy the products the day or so and they don't restock. And web site won't let you order it.

Not good. Really really not good. They have no idea how to do a men’s hair color. Not a clue. Do not let them touch your head. Other services are ok. DO NOT let them color your hair if you are a dude.

Here lately they've been out of a lot. Especially the more popular shades of makeup. You would think they would stock up on the fast sellers. Employees are always friendly & helpful tho.

As a former hairdresser I know enough to not get upset with minor problems. The hair cut I received was choppy, bangs 3 different lengths, shorter on one side than the other . Awful!!!

This is my favorite BB. Everyone is so nice and helpful. I have pedicures here because everywhere else the technician was not very gentle, which I need. Always a good experience here.

Had new girl who did my pedicure and manicure she was VERY good did an excellent job I just was surprised that the cost of basic pedicure and manicure but both should last for awhile

Do not go here if you care about your hair. My hair was fried after a balayage and it was very orange. I paid $160 to have to spend $100 more to save it. Will not be returning
