"This review is for their lunch options; I went to Belle’s a few times to try their sandwiches"
Very odd and extraordinarily rude service by the female employee with the long black hair. No hello, totally ignored when I said hello how are you kind of thing when I walked in. The treatment lasted till I left. I def regret buying things but wanted to still support them. The beef empanada was extremely dry. The filling was dry, cakey beef without seasoning. The crust was too rich also very dry and did not taste fresh. That's great you sell a lot of them however it was not good at all. The pecan square was however really nice. I do want this small business to survive and do well however without friendly frontline staff, this will no doubt be a recurring issue. Also, the reply by the owner really shows the lack of customer service and overall weirdness.
Should open at 9AM, stopped by at 9:15. Doors were closed, I nicely asked when will they open, the employee replied “in 15’”. 30 min after that (9:45) I knocked on the door to get an update and I was perfectly ignored. Seller-Customer relationship at its finest !! How rude… EDIT: Thank you for your response. I do not have any problem with you opening late due to a technical issue - unfortunately, it may happen to everyone/ every business. Hope it's been fixed. My concern is the lack of reliability in the information provided (said 15' and I left after 30+ min) and the communication (knocked on the door to get an update and I was ignored while I was waiting at the front door for 30+ min).
Popped in here with a friend while on a walk. They have a great assortment of desert options. I ended up getting the Cannoli, a poppyseed bagel with cream cheese and a hot chocolate. The bagel was quite nice and there was a good amount of light, fluffy cream cheese - very yummy. The Cannoli was a bit small and crumbled a little bit, but I enjoyed it and the flavour was there. Hot chocolate was also good. Note that there is no seating inside the store as of when I went.

Friendly and attentive barista and delicious baked goods! I definitely would come back for this heavenly cakes and savoy pies!**not allow to eat inside Poche $5.10(Crispy sesame pie, spinach and ricotta inside): This savoy pie is perfect for my breakfast or snack. They heat them up for you. Tiramis $5.50 : Cream was not too sweet and inside sponge cake is soaked half by espresso syrup, which is perfect and delicious!
This review is for their lunch options; I went to Belle’s a few times to try their sandwiches. The empanada wasn’t fresh and was saggy. The other time, I went for their make to order sandwiches, they didn’t have mortadella so I ordered Montréal smoke meat sandwich. They brought the bread from back, and to be honest wasn’t fresh at all. For a $12 sandwich, I was expecting better quality sandwich with no cheap yellow slices cheese. We don’t have many lunch options in this hood so I’m hoping they boost their quality!
Very intimidating for a bakery not recommended if you have anxiety. There are multiple sternly worded signs not to touch the bread but the staff is reluctant to help . There’s bread you can buy , right under the bread you aren’t supposed to touch and you grab it yourself . I didn’t know what to touch and what to self serve and the employee found it amusing and didn’t seem to understand my concerns . Will not be back not worth the mediocre loaf
This bakery is a GEM The honest truth is that these are the best cannolis you can find in the city!!! The unique flavour and texture hits all the high notes and much more The owners are extremely friendly and their passion for baked goods shows in the quality and taste. You must try these cannolis as well as their bagels, Portuguese tarts, sourdough bread, cheese croissants and chicken pies. Support your local business ❤
Gem of a bakery. Very fair prices and fresh food, drinks and service is exceptional. They deserve all the business they get. Absolutely love the cakes and tarts are SO good highly recommend trying the tarts, carrot cake and empanadas. This is where I'll be coming for my bread, coffee fix, sweet tooth fix and more Very happy to have this place near me. Maybe the best bakery in the Annex.
i would prefer to give zero stars. absolutely horrendous customer service. i wish i had read the reviews before waisting my time and money. very bad first experience: none of the ingredients were fresh! - the bagel was dry - the lettuce was slimy, soggy & brown. (it was like she microwaved it when she heated up the egg & bacon in the microwave - the egg was tasteless and extremely wet
Got empanadas, beef and chicken. I started out with the beef. Didnt realize they have olives. I am not into olives at all. Also the lady didnt ask me of i wanted them warmed up. I ended up eating a cold empanada onky to find out it had olives and it broke apart so easily. I was disappointed. Ive had better empanadas at other places. I ended up giving the rest away to some homeless people.
Tiny little coffee place, with very good coffee and even better food! I'm regular there since they opened in the neighborhood. So far I tried their amazing bagels (imo they are better than some "top bagels"in the city), all three quiches (my fav is ham and cheese) and several cakes (tres leches cake is my weakness). They also sell some precooked meals like lasagna, sandwiches and salads.
Olive sourdough bread is tasty! I recommend checking this place out, they’re best known for their bread and have other sweet pastries too. Given this is a competitive field in Toronto I think the staff and atmosphere weren’t as welcoming, friendly or on trend as other bakeries - I’m sure staffing is incredibly hard to get right but I can’t give 5 to everyone to be credible.
A lots of variety of pastries, desserts and sandwiches. however the price is unfair compare to the portion given. A mini quiche costs a much as an empanadas that is bigger. You should revised the pricing or make bigger quiche or feuillete. Same for sandwiches even though fresh and delicious. It is quite expensive for the size of each pastries compared to others bakeries.
Just an amazing little bakery. The bagels are delicious and really well priced, their cream cheese is also worth getting hold of. They have perfectly flaky croissants, lovely vegetable pies and the coffee is great too. I would personally like the empanada to be a little spicier, but everything here is just amazing.
There are so many amazing things to be said about this Bakery but I'll give my top 3. 1. Belle is just such a genuinely nice person and I love coming to visit her. 2. The sourdough is highly addicting and always fresh- literally the best bread I've ever had! 3. The Portuguese tarts are out of this world!
Pretty not good experience. I got a cannoli for over $4 - horrible … we got one more dessert which was ok. Not fresh. No where to sit - which pretty disappointing.

This place is hit or miss…sometimes the London Fogs are divine and the lox and cream bagels as well…but sometimes they forget to put the vanilla syrup in the London Fog or the capers and tomatoes in your lox and cream bagel. Everyone makes mistakes, but it stings extra when your bagel is $10!
Says they open at 9am, got there at 9:15 and they were closed (they were inside but hadn’t opened the door). Waited until 9:45 and nothing, even after knocking on the door. At least communicate that you may be running late one morning or change your opening hours. Frustrating morning.
Best natas in the city, period. Delicate, flaky crust that hasn't had all of its butter/shortening/lard pooled in the bottom. The consistency of the shell is perfect. Delicately flavoured custard, not too sweet Warm it up a little and be transported to Portugal via Brazil.
Can’t say enough good things about this place! Amazing bagels and baked goods at a great price. Also, the pre-made meals (mac n cheese, lasagna, shepherds pie, quiche) are to die for. For a quick work lunch or on a night you don’t want to cook, these are my go-to treat!
Delicious baked goods, both sweet and savoury, make this Dupont bakery a place to visit. They also offer a variety of freshly made soups and sandwiches as well as pasta and sauces to make at home. Support this small business, and treat your tastebuds at the same time!
Since its opening from a couple of years ago, I visit this neighbourhood bakery 2-3 times a week and everything from their multigrain sourdough bread to their cheese cakes is extraordinary. Definitely one of the best bakeries that the city of Toronto has to offer.
I ordered a custom cheesecake on short notice. They managed to accommodate me and delivered a beautiful and absolutely delicious cheesecake. Thank you so much Belle's for this amazing creation!! It was a huge hit with our guests and we will definitely be back!!
I ordered the carrot cake. It was so dry. Service was blah! Very disappointed as I Live in the neighbourhood. Small piece was almost $7 .

These pastries were delicious and I'm surprised the shop wasn't busier than it was. They have a wide variety of both sweet and savory food items too. My pistachio croissant and spinach strudel were unlike anything I've tried before (being from the U.S.).
A great local bakery. They have a good selection of baked goodies, some baked in-house and some brought from other famous toronto bakeries. Moreover, they serve coffee and other warm drinks. They open on August 24, 2019. Overall, I recommend this bakery.
Savoury pastries a little on the dry side. For the price, totally not worth it and not an overall great selection of cakes. Service is lovely and it's a nice setting. Good for the occasional bite but I normally find it doesn't quite hit the spot. More
Delicious hot chocolate, amazing sweets and the best quiches I’ve ever had. Owner is so sweet, a ray of sunshine always with a smile on her face. They also donate the unsold baked goods which is so amazing, happy to support such a great establishment.
Went here today. The girl with the glasses has excellent customer service. Definitely gonna comeback!

Had a wonderful time here! Beautiful and cozy atmosphere. My son, who’s a very picky eater, loved their short cookies. The pies are delicious as well. Will definitely come back and recommend! the couple is so kind and friendly.
Lovely bakery with a great range of novelty food items, baked goods, and breakfast options. I stopped here with a group of girls to grab some quick food and we were all impressed! Super nice staff too! 10/10 would recommend.
Great sourdough loaves. On Friday they offer olive and rosemary as well as walnut sourdough loaves. Also sell sandwiches, croissants, pain au chocolat, bagels, various pastries, condiments, pasta and soups. Friendly staff.
Our whole family loves Belle’s Bakery. The people running it are warm and the bread and desserts are always delicious. This bakery has a large selection of breads and pastries, as well as other quality fresh foods.
Friendly staff with plenty of interesting options. I tried their almond chocolate croissant and Portuguese tart. The tart was amazing but the croissant was too buttery for my taste, I enjoyed it nonetheless.
Best ever Almond Croissants !!! I tried many in different places, these ones are heavenly delicious, crispy and crunchy, perfectly golden brown. Thank you guys for making me and my belly happy lol !
The cashier/barista was conversational, friendly, and overall the bakery gives off a warm atmosphere. I'm looking forward to coming here more often! Classic French baked goods served hot and yummy.
I just had the most amazing Portuguese egg tart. My only regret is that I only bought one. The store is very clean and organized, with a wonderful atmosphere. Will be coming back for another tart!
My fav local bakery. The custard tarts and sourdough, and lots of other stuff to pursue. Quite unassuming storefront, but worth a look for sure. Salads gelato and some other provisions as well.
We like their scotch eggs and small round savoury pies. Their almond-choco croissants are really nice. Oh yes cheesecake, cheesecake - buy a whole one if you see it in the shelf! Nice people.
Went to Belles Bakery hoping to find scones but they don’t make scones so ended up getting an egg tart and a date square. They were both fantastic, kinda glad they didn’t have scones! Haha
This is my second time at Belle’s bakery and their coffee is so delicious. I got a Natas and the custard was perfectly sweet and light. I can’t wait to go back and try some other desserts!
Adorable, cozy little place. Delicious quiches and BLTs, owner gave us complimentary cheese puffs for our wait which was greatly appreciated. Highly recommend, will definitely go back!!
This is the best bakery of the neighborhood. Your senses will be overwhelmed: pastries are appetizing and delicates for the eyes, the smell is delightful for your nose and your palate.
An amazing addition to the area. The bread, empanadas, soups, and sweet snacks have all been fantastic! The best soups are the Carrot/Ginger and the Tomato Bisque. Highly recommend!
I bought a box of assorted squares for a picnic. They were a hit. A friend of mine said some not-safe-for-the-internet things about what he wanted to do to the brownie. Will return!
Great coffee, pastries and bagels! This place has quickly become the part of our weekend routine we look forward to most. Staff are lovely, service is quick, and food is delicious!
Great baked goods. Staff was friendly with a laid back atmosphere. I only stopped in to use the internet on my vacation. Once inside though, I fell in love with the place a little.
Have been coming to this small bakery for months now. Everything I've tried is delicious, from the bread, to desserts, to sandwiches! Pictured here is the grilled cheese with ham!
Great selection of baked goods, loved the chicken empanada, but not having indoor seating to enjoy the food is a big bummer / why I don’t come here despite living close by.
Delightful independent baker that offers a variety of fresh prepared meals to take home in addition to freshly baked bread and sweet treats. We enjoy the date squares.
Best bakery in the city. Everything they have is simply delicious! All their cakes and pastries are to die for! also homemade hummus, great salads and bagels.
I found them at the Woodbridge Farmer's Market and bought some everything bagels and a multi grain sourdough. Both are really good but the bagels are AMAZING!
I love their selection of breads. All great. Multigrain sourdough is my favourite! Friendly staff. Lots of nice treats. Surprising diversity of food items.
Just tried the Scotch Egg- absolute, pure deliciousness. Plus, the staff were kind and had a hilarious sense of humor. Great store in a great area.
Limited selection of baked goods. The scones we purchased were very large for the price , but too dense and were not tasty. Staff was friendly.
The chocolate tart was SUPER good! Tried some of my friends' peach tart and croissant, everything was top notch. Service was great too! :)
All the baked goods are incredible and the bread is amazing. I go here regularly for all my baked goods, lunch, and hot beverages.
Things I have tried: Their cappucino, quiches and strawberry shortcake; all of which highly impressed me. Definitely going back.
Quick and Friendly service :) A place that really tries to get to know their customers. Smoked turkey sandwich was delicious!
Found this bakery new to the 'hood yesterday and purchased a whole wheat sourdough loaf - it was delicious, fantastic crust
The walnut sourdough is ridiculously good. All other breads are top notch too. Cannot recommend this bakery highly enough.
Great place, service A+, super kind and friendly guys behind the counter, brewed coffee is great. Will come back for sure.
Amazing coffee and super delicious cookies are completed with a nice staff! I enjoyed every second of my time being here!
Their sausage rolls are my favourite! Good empanadas and meat pies as well. Salad was good. Excited to try their bread!
Had the almond and chocolate croissant! I've always wished someone would combine the two. Coffee was also exceptional.
Absolutely fabulous breads. The sourdough makes terrific toast, the bagels are excellent as are the baguettes …
OMG - Montreal bagels just like Montreal! Great bread. Super service. The neighbourhood needs to support these guys.
Staff person was very sweet and it's a nice space. Sadly, the dough of both the empanada and the tart tasted stale.
Am Weg zu casa loma entdeckt! Super geniale homemade Kuchen, Bagels, Brot. Auch andere „Feinkostartikel“ vorhanden.
Great coffee and great baked goods. The everything bagels are simply the best! Great addition to the DuPont strip!
Fresh, crispy and delicious sourdough! Such a pleasure to have a quality bakery like Belle’s in the neighborhood!
Amazingly tasty sweets(i went for the carrot cake and chocolate cake) The young lady working there was so nice
The cheesecake with raspberry topping is the best cheesecake I’ve ever had! Can’t wait to indulge again soon!
Great bakery. Really good and fresh pastries, sandwiches and coffee. Great addition to the neighborhood!
the bagel blt was bomb and the blonde girl at the front was really helpful. will definitely be back!
Fantastic baked goods in a cool little hole in the wall type of place! I could eat everything!
Had the peanut butter bar and was super yummy! Will be back to try their other goods for sure
Portuguese tarts are great as well as the cheese croissants. Crunch on the tart crust …
Walked 30 mins to get some pastries to find out that they dont accept cash. C'est dommage
Amazing fresh breads, pastries and lunches as well as great coffee and great service.
Horrible service place is very dirty if you have any self respect don’t come here
It took about 5 minutes to heat up a sausage roll and it was cold inside. …
A bakery build with love, everything is amazing from the bread to the coffee.
Unreal food and coffee is the best we've had in the Annex. Love this place!
Had a really good eggnog latte and beef empanada. I reccomend this place!
DELICIOUS DESSERTS. DELICIOUS MEAT PIES. Great service from the family
Amazing Bakery! Nicest owner ever, really cares about her customers.
First time visiting this place yesterday, and I'll be back for more.
Cute store with Italian stuff but nothing really worth remembering.
Great food and coffee. Nice gem near the local tourist attractions.
Best pão de queijo (cheese bread) in town! Staff is super friendly!
Great coffee and sandwiches! The tarts alone are worth a trip.
Their bread is amazing! Very friendly staff and great food!
