I have tried this restaurant a couple times, hands down my new favorite restaurant in the GTA. Here's why: 1. Great Food 2. Good Prices per Quantity of Food 3. One of a kind service. The food is great, it's different from shawarma and Afghani food. My family and I ordered almost everything on the menu except the burgers and the t-bone steak - a friend of mine has tried and loved the Burgers. We loved everything we ordered - the least enjoyable thing for me was the veal chop and that was itself a 4/5. So no issues food wise. The prices are comparable to most good quality shawarma places and Afghani food places like Bamiyan and Paramount. But here, the owner doesn't cheap out, the plates are absolutely packed with food. In Paramount and Bamiyan I can easily finish a platter on my own, but here I was struggling to finish and even had to take some food home. Definitely a big plus, value wise. The service is my favourite part of being at this place. The owner is the server and his wife is the chef. Being of the small and intimate setting, the owner gets a chance to interact with all of his customers. During our meal, he would constantly check up on us to see if we were okay, needed anything, needed any extra bread (for which he did not charge) - extra sauce, onions, you name it. The second time my family and I went we had happened to be fasting - and as a courtesy he gave us a bottle of pop on the house. That's what you call quality service. If you need a new place to try, go here. If you don't want to try a new place, still go here.

I cannot bestow enough praise upon this establishment. This is the quintessential mom&pop hidden gem, tucked away in an obscure location that will have you second-guessing your map app. Don't let the location fool you—the place is to die for. I visit with work colleagues frequently. The service is fantastic—the owners are lovely people, always smiling and grateful. After just a couple of visits they started to recognize us and treat us like family. If you dine in, they will set your table, bring you your food, and offer some complimentary sides (such as pickles or pickled hot peppers). So far we have tried the following: -Chevap: It's priced outrageously low for today's market, especially considering how good it is! -Grilled sausage: also very good, has a distinct flavor (paprika?) -Burek with meat, and burek with cheese: this one is great to share with the table There is one more item I'd really like to try, and that's the PLJESKAVICA, which seems to be a homemade beef burger. But I love the chevap so much it's hard to get anything else. For lovers of good, homemade food, this food is home cooking that you don't need to cook!

What a worst place to visit in my entire life... Owner was running a restaurant by his own no helpers or workers, chef or servers, the restaurant was looking like a nightmare, no lighting, tables were not cleaned, furniture were not sturdy at all . Unclean place to visit. His attitude was the worst part, he was passing jokes like he was very funny, but he wasn't respectful to the guests. You are not allowed to touch the guests by tapping on their shoulders while taking the orders and checking on the guests. I called him from the kitchen to take our orders, it took him 45 minutes to cook the BBQ, it should take 15 minutes only. we were group of 12 people, everyone got the food every after 5 minutes by the time we all got the food, most of the food was cold already. He served the frozen cooked meet, chicken was like the hard rock and the Beef Chevon was smelly and looks like sitting in the freezer for many years. Salad was rotten, no taste at all. i left my half food. Your hospitality was the worst in my entire life visiting restaurants. If you cannot serve the guests please shut down the restaurant. I will never ever visit you again and will share my experience to all my family, friend circle.

Alma and Hasan invest their big hearts and love in every dish, salted or sweet, they prepare. Very welcoming people. Taste and smell warm the one's soul, body and mind, a reminiscent of childhood and good times when food connects people. There is also a mini- store worth mentioning - with so many things the one's home needs like Ajvar, Vegeta, all kinds of jam and marmalade, natural honey in glass jar(pasteurized), hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, pickles, paprika, cabbage, Macedonian white kidney beans, sudzuk ( dried beef sausage) and more, and sweets especially ones that Alma mastered. Hurmasica, baklava, the fig and nuts pie sweetened by honey, mmmmm, worth coming back over and over and trying different things. All the best to Alma and Hasan

First we were welcomed by the owners of the place, they are so kind with a nice lovely smile. We tried the appetizing specialities "Burek with Cheese" & "Burek with Meat". Both are delicious & mouthwatering. The dough of the is home made and very But we enjoyed the cheese pie the best. Don't miss it! We tried the "Homemade Beef Burger", and it was great and my kids enjoyed it so much. And from the Berina's specialties, we took the "Chevap & Grill Sausage Combo". It was juicy and yummy. We enjoyed the chevap so much but the sausage was not that good. From the sweets, we are impressed from the awesomeness of the different types of Baklava that they introduce. They ask you to come and see them first. We tried the "Pistachio Baklava"which is the Middle Eastern type. It was . What we enjoyed the most was the authentic Bosnian baklava; the "Walnut Baklava". We enjoyed every single bit of it. We didn't prevent ourselves from trying the "Apple Streusel Pie" which has no sugar added. It was yummy!

Did you ever fancy being invited to a southeast European home for a family dinner, if yes then look no further then Berina's. Chef Hassan and his wife will welcome you like a long lost family friend in a Bosnian home as you walk into the tastefully decorated restaurant. Delightful conversations and delicious food served with a smile brings you closer to the culture and hospitality that this country and people represent. Their perfectly prepared cevapi sausages, assorted cakes and pastries pair so well with Turkish coffee served in beautiful chinaware provides one of a kind dining experience. Definitely a hidden gem in Mississauga. Thank you for a rememberable experience, we will be back soon.

I 100% agree with my girlfriend's review "A wonderful hidden gem tucked away in an industrial area. The chevap was the perfect blend of seasoning, saltiness and wasn’t dry at all. The bread also had the perfect texture; airy, slightly chewy, and toasted in a wood fire oven. I was worried the cheese burek would be too cheesy for me since Im not usually a fan of a lot of cheese but we got it based on all the reviews and I’m SO glad we did! The dough was again perfectly buttery and flaky; cheese provided a nice creamy contrast. We also tried their Ajvar and was so impressed we brought home a jar with us. The best part of this place was the owner. So personable and warm. Will definitely come back to try more things."

So let me start with the feel of this place. It doesn't feel like a restaurant. Rather it feels like your parents kitchen. The owners are one of the nicest restaurant owners you will ever meet. The experience was a throwback to a time where people interacted warmly and generously which each other. My kids got treated like I imagine the owners grandkids would be treated so they felt relaxed and at home from the get go. Now against this backdrop we did actually order food! We ordered Cevap and Burek (potatoes and meat). Everything was perfectly warm and fresh and extremely satisfying! Overall a wonderful experience and a must visit for people who want to enjoy a homely atmosphere and have simple delicious traditional Bosnian food!

  • Amanda Lan

So wow. Never had Bosnian food before but my husband and I were blown away. I only wish we came with more people so we could have sampled more food lol. First of all, that burek is friggin huge lol. Its a flaky, phyllo savoury pastry that in my opinion, one can be shared between two people. We ordered one spinach&cheese and one meat. Both very good but I loved the spinach more.. probably bc of the cheese lol. We also ordered the chevap and grilled sausage combo. Came with a delightful bread pita thing and i managed a few bites before my pants felt like they were going to burst lol. My husband definitely enjoyed it though! He was also a major fan of the turkish coffee. Thank you for the wonderful meal! :)

When you first walk in you’re greeted by happiest and friendliest staff ever! The owner is very friendly and extremely accommodating. The menu is full of delicious options. We have had the opportunity and pleasure to try most things on the menu and I honestly don’t know what to recommend as the whole menu is delicious. I would come eat here again. The family vibe plus the incredible food is incredible. P.s. I have looked at the only 2 reviews below 4 stars and I couldn’t disagree more. The 1 star review mentions overpriced but I’m not sure they’ve been to a restaurant in the last 20 years. The 2 star review says it wasn’t special...I guess the other 100+ reviews all above 4 stars all disagree.

  • Clarissa Getigan

I stumbled across this restaurant after clicking "restaurants near me" and i'm soo grateful I did! The owners are so incredibly kind and welcoming. It's the kind of place you want to stay a little longer since they're so nice. I got the garlic bread, cheese burek, shopska, greek salad, clubhouse, beef burger and the chevap (beef & veal). While I can't review all of them from my personal opinion because I only ate the vegetarian items, my family was very impressed and loved everything they ate. And I agree! I hope whoever is in the area gives this place a try. They definitely satisfied us and you get so much bang for your buck. I'll be coming back to say hi and eat more food!

  • Avril Beaubien

This place is awesome. Came across the listing for it when we pulled off the highway for food on the way home from the airport, and so glad we did. The food was awesome, and they were super friendly. It's definitely nothing fancy in terms of the decor, but it's not trying to be. It's in an industrial park after all. It's just excellent food. Absolutely recommend.

This was our first time ordering from this restaurant, and let me tell you the BBQ meats are cooked to absolute perfection! Everything we ordered was made really well and the home made lepinje and burek were amazing. At the moment it does not look like you can dine in, but again I could be wrong, as it was my first time there. I look forward to getting some delicious BBQ there again! Hope to see you there

I have visited tons of places over the years but I loved this place so much not just because of the food, but because of the owners, their hospitality and customer service. My kids loved the food and the owner. These days you don't find places where people actually talk to you. He said to us, feel it like your home. He offered us some pickles which were great. We loved everything. We even bought meat borek and walnut baklava as takeout to bring it home for the rest of the family members. Once again their hospitality is great and we were really happy with our dine in experience.

  • Oliver Miller

Went here today for the first time with my girlfriend. We read all the positive reviews and had to check them out. The owners are a husband and wife family and they are The nicest people you’ll meet. I’ve never tried this food before and they were patient with me while giving good advice. Food is delicious, fresh, and the portions are huge for a very fair price. It’s very important to support our local businesses during this pandemic. Anyone reading this, please check this place out. You will not be disappointed! Thank you again to the owners for the hospitality.

I’ve never had Bosnian food, this was the first time for me. And it was fantastic. Delicious, fresh and very generous portion of food. Cooked right in front of us. Most importantly even if the food wasn’t excellent I would still recommend this place just because of the service and how the nice gentleman, probably the owner is. Very humble and friendly person. And if a person as nice as him operates a restaurant I would have full faith in the taste and quality of the food. It’s clear why the rating of this place is so good. True hidden gem.

I always have an amazing experience at this restaurant. They are so welcoming, and Hassan has wonderful customer service skills. They are so kind and considerate. Great quality food and the atmosphere is beautiful and very relaxing dining in experience. I love coming here, the chevap is so delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice dining in experience.

I recently had the pleasure of trying homemade Bosnian food and it was an absolute delight! The flavors were rich and authentic, transporting me straight to the heart of Bosnia. Was a little peckish and decided to stop over at Berinas, a Bosnian restaurant. The reviews were outstanding and now I understand why. The owner recommended the chevab (beef and veal kebabs) and the Burek (spinach and cheese pastry). It was tasty and the ingredients were fresh. The real star here is the freshly stone-baked bread The restaurant is clean but most of all the owner was so hospitable. Cool place, give it a try and encourage family business! Also it is a good halal option.

As an Asian, I didn’t know the magic of Eastern European style Kebab. I have tried some fast food kebab which didn’t impress me much. Till today I tried this place, I realize the magic of Kebab. The crispy thin layer of burnt skin locks the juice in the meat/chicken. I’d say next time whoever wants to try Eastern European food, I will take them here.

Old style restaurant exuding a very rustic vibe. The food itself if good, if slightly on the salty side and dissimilar to the other Cevapi I've had. The highlight is the owner, brother Hassan who is very welcoming and a gracious host. He makes you feel like you're visiting an old friend, exuding remarkable warmth. Pricing is very reasonable and this a great spot for authentic Bosnian/Balkan cuisine.

Support this place! From classic home made fresh to order burgers fries and chicken to authentic Eastern European dishes. My first visit I was happy and they were friendly. They also have a large selection of various imported treats and candies as well as gourmet honey of all kinds. I will be returning often to support them when I can. Its hard to find family owned restaraunts these days. Also there is take out or a large seating area.

Outstanding experience. Simple amazing restaurant and owner. Went here today, first time eating Bosnian food. Owner is very kind, explained everything so well and very patient. Food came reasonably fast and was very tasty. Huge portions!! We ordered a party tray and it was enough to feed 8 adults at least. Bread was fresh and home baked. Great atmosphere, owners are very nice people. Will come here again to try other dishes!

Great atmosphere in this cozy Bosnian spot any time of day! The portions are well worth the prices and everything here is absolutely delicious! Great staff who above and beyond expectations. Take out portions are amazing also, great spot to hit up if you're in the Mississauga area as its right off the 403 and easy to get to. Lots of parking and fully accessible. Will definitely be coming back for some more great eats.

Went to this place for the first time and the atmosphere is so cozy and the owners are 100% welcoming. The food and grill was amazing and the bread was delectable. All the dishes were fresh and the bread was home baked, which made it even tastier. Everything was perfect but honestly giving it a 5 star for customer service as much as for food.

We were originally going to hey noodles but our Macedonian frnd told us to try this place out. There kabab things were so juicy. I've never had a juicier kabab in my life. Was not spicy. The owner Hassan was a nice kind man who took his time to explain the entire menus to us. I would recommend this place for family or your significant other.

Recommended by my Bosnian friend for their authenticity, taste, and good service. My friend was right! Got the Pljeskavica special, but very tempted to just order a lot of cevapi next time. Both were good, but the cevapi was amazing! Friendly owners as well. Recommended for a try of Bosnian cuisine!

Good option for Balkan food, owner is very nice, prices are VERY reasonable. Chevapi were tender and flavourful, lepinja was fresh, soft and springy, with a nice crust. Salad was good, could have used some more feta...

A new discovery for me, Bosnian Halal restaurant restaurant is big size they make fresh food. Owner is very nice and humble. Don't look at the furniture some chairs are not in good shape but if you are going with friends and family then who cares. I would definitely go there again and again

The owner of this restaurant is a wonderful man! I was the only diner in this restaurant on a Monday night. He did a great job making me feel both welcome and part of the family. I ordered the chevap and grilled sausage. Both items were tasty. The sandwich bread was homemade too.

  • Asoomii Jay

We ordered the spinach burek and the chevap (sausage like meat in delicious Bosnian bread) which were so tasty! Not to mention the friendly owner who was so welcoming and kind and makes you feel at home. I absolutely love this place, it’s a hidden gem and the food is a must try!

Hello, Went here for my first time and left with a new favourite restaurant. The owner and his wife were so nice and the food was delicious. He even gave us free dessert. They have hearts of gold and deserve the best of successes. Hope you get the chance to dine here.

The place was empty. Rang a bell, no response. After a minute of calling, an grumpy man emerged to say the place is open and what are we making a ruckus about, all while talking on the phone. We left not feeling welcome.

Absolutely delicious homemade food! Chevapi, burek, baklava were the best. And the owner and his wife greeting us, first time customers, like old friends made us feel welcome and appreciated. Will definitely be back for a sit-down dinner with extended family.

I had an opportunity to try out multiple variations of chevaps while visiting Bosnia and Croatia last year. I never could've imagined to find chevaps this good in Canada. This place is a hidden gem. Simple and truly authentic Bosnian food.

  • Ash Navabi

Excellent food and service. What a restaurant should be! For two people we got the 5 chevap with sausage, and the burek with meat. Delicious, quick, and very filling. We left with some homemade pastries as well. My highest recommendation.

  • Nicholas G

Probably the most underrated restaurant in Mississauga. Have been living in Mississauga my whole life and only discovered this place recently, and I can truly say it's a hidden gem. Classic style family restaurant with husband and wife

Best burek I have ever had at home or abroad ! Amazing, kind owners, I’ve been here twice now and they are the sweetest people. Came all the way from Aurora just to pick up some food from back home here, definitely worth the drive!

Customer service at its finest. Great food. First time experiencing eastern european cuisine. Cevapi did not disappoint along with the wood oven bread with ajvar. The cheese burek was tasty too. Will be coming here often !

  • Moaz Ahmad

The mood is very laid back, like an older bar or European restaurant. The food is creative and the owner is confident and enjoying himself. The kids had the chicken burgers, plus we also had the meat plate and meat burek.

Six stars! The owner makes you feel at home and his wife makes the best coffee I have had in a long time. Trust the reviews. Ask the owner what he recommends on your first visit. Then you will keep coming. Great place.

Great home made quality Bosnian food with a very friendly owner. They also sell frozen home made Chivapes in packs of 25 to 100. Their breads are freshly made stone baked. Will definitely go back.
