The laptop itself is good. This review is about "Geek Squad Certified" and "Certified Open Box". I thought these labels meant that Best Buy would stand behind what they sold me, but they do not. My laptop arrived missing the power supply cord (the outer package had "Geek Squad Certified" tape sealing it, and inside the box that was supposed to contain the power supply was empty.) I immediately called customer service and they told me to bring it into a local store and they could give me the missing power supply. I went to my local store and received nothing but hassle -- several different employees told me I was wrong about different aspects of the issue. One said there was no longer any "Geek Squad Certified" program and I showed him the receipt on my phone and the tape on the box that said there was "and that's the only reason I bought it this way!". A different one told me that the power supply wasn't supposed to be included so I showed her the open box listing showing 39W power supply included. Then she tried to tell me the 24W power supply was good enough (because she didn't know the difference between the "Go" and the "Laptop Go" and apparently doesn't understand anything about power requirements.) Then the supervisor tried to ring up a power supply to give me and credit the order for it - he scanned two different labels on my box over and over again trying to get it ring up in a way to credit me, then got frustrated and told me I should just return it. I said do you seriously think your company wants me to return this rather than just giving me the missing power supply? He said that's all he could do. He also said I could drive to the other store that the computer was shipped from and they could take care of it (where I am fairly certain I would have had the exact same experience after a 45-minute drive). I started to return it on the spot but I had already entered personal information on the laptop so I asked how I could delete that. First, I was told "it will get reformatted" which wasn't really a sufficient answer, then another employee did an internet search and tried to give me the directions to remove personal info as if it was a Chromebook (vs Windows PC). At that point I gave up trying to get anything useful done in the store. On my way out, I tried to express my frustration in a constructive way to the supervisor (Kevin) and all he would do was keep arguing with me telling me I didn't understand their process and that particular store wasn't responsible for what the other store did - which I suggested was not supposed to be my problem to solve. Then he told me that I "bore the risk" of buying open box - to which I replied that his company labeled it as "Open Box Certified" which should mean something. I told him he should probably stop arguing with me and just hear me out as a customer expressing my opinion. This was particularly frustrating because I had intended to buy the computer through Amazon Renewed, but decided it was less risky to have Best Buy stand behind it so I could bring it to the store to get any issues resolved. I was WRONG! I will go back to just using Best Buy to go in and physically compare items that I go buy somewhere else.

This Location Town Center Jacksonville Fl is the absolute worst. My favorite store of all time just became the worst. I walked in it is very slow, maybe a handful of customers to include myself. I went in to purchase an Apple Desktop, Mac Book Pro, and 70” tv, sound bar and Samsung Live earbuds because mine were destroyed by water damage. One worker said Hi, no one offered assistance. In actuality I saw one employee actually dip away trying to not be seen only to be on the other side of the shelf standing around the female employee talking to her. The whole store is that way. The employees are in groups of 2-3 having personal conversations and not willing to ask for assistance. I went to the front to ask for a store manager and the group of two talking took all of too much time to address me to see why I was just patiently standing in front of them. So after the young lady asked me how can she assist, I asked for a Store Manager because of course the one standing in front of me is only a lead - acting manager and was too busy doing nothing to ask me then states his position of being a lead- acting manager. I state please I need a store manager, and to my surprise the store manager walks by and tells him he is acting manager, and points at me. I nicely state that I really need to speak with a store manager, and Kenny (so his name tag said -manager) in exact words say, “The way things are done here He is a lead” ….(before he could finish I left). Never again. I will post this everywhere and even call their corporate office my next availability. Reasons like this are why my BBY is down now. People want service and Town center in Jacksonville is definitely not giving it. Every time I come here I always have to drive all the way to Southside location to get service when I live almost Ty next door. Frustrating to say the least.

I went in to Best Buy to properly recycle electronics and utilize the trade in service. Upon arriving, we asked what we had the ability to trade in vs what needed to go into the recycling bin. The employee was unsure so I brought in the whole box. She first traded in the printer and let us know we would get 50% off our next printer of the same brand. (Which I found out later, this was not the case) She proceeded to turn everything else on and search for information on the laptop and chrome book. After waiting for 30 minutes, I googled how to do it and showed her. She then asked two other employees and a manager and she assumed you could not trade in chromebooks. Which is okay. I understand. Then she did the same thing for the laptop and after another 15 minutes told me we couldn’t trade in because of the old processor. Again, I understand. I was looking forward to the 50% off next printer deal. After picking out the same brand printer. I go to check out and the gentleman checking us out isn’t getting the coupon to work. So after 15 minutes of him trying different things he calls over a manager who reads the paper and tells us it’s only select models and it’s not 50% off like I was told. Overall, spent over an hour at Best Buy to be misinformed and time wasted. Really poor experience. Disappointed because I’ve bought laptops here before.

It’s hard to find a store that has all the products you need and the right personnel to explain to you said products the right way, so you don’t end up having buyers remorse or purchasing something you never need it in the first place. Come to this store !!! You won’t be unimpressed !!!

So I bought these Nintendo Switch game card for my son last Christmas. About 3 weeks later it quit working and there is a prompt which states “Cannot read card. Please re-insert card again.” Kept trying and trying and still getting the same message. So I went to Best Buy at the Town Center and when they checked the date I bought it, they said that it was already past the return period. They also don’t have manufacturer’s warranty on this one. Seriously? So y’all just sell crappy stuff like this and let your costumer be dissatisfied when things like this happen? I was told that there was nothing they could do at this time because I did not purchase their protection plan which turned out to be $6 for this particular game card. Had I known I would have bought the protection plan. I bought this together with the switch console, which I bought the protection plan for that one. I just don’t remember seeing an option for the game card. But maybe I just overlooked it or something. But lesson learned: GET THE PROTECTION PLAN! So that was 40 bucks just went down the drain...

This company and this store deserve a negative rating. I placed a sizeable order with this store on August 24, 2023. The scheduled installation was not met. When the Geek Squad team showed up, they only had part of the order. The balance of the order, for network equipment, was never delivered. Yet, Best Buy has recorded that it was. Best Buy has keep the $ 1,400 worth of equipment and services that I paid for, and yet I do not have a resolution to the problem. I have spoken to over 8 customer service people on this matter, mostly located overseas, who have no clue about the situation. In 50% of my interactions with them, they hang up the call and never call back. In every call, I have to explain the whole situation over and over again. I even went to the store to complain to a supervisor, but nothing has been taken care off. Best Buy is a flawed and a bureaucratic company that is untrustworthy. They are committing fraud, which I will report to the Florida Attorney General. Do not buy the Best Buy membership, nor any products from this company.

I had an appointment set to have my iPhone 12 Pro Max microphone at least fixed if not replaced, they managed to not” have the part in stock” (OK this is why I had scheduled in advance, not only that it’s been a common issue with the iPhone 12 since they were released) then has the audacity to give me the part number and tell me to call around to find one and “they’ll help put it in!!” On top of that, I had to return an item after 16 days young gentleman/man at the counter couldn’t understand why payment wouldn’t process back onto my debit card for entire purchase price?! come to find out it was because itd been over 15 days !! I understand it was stated at the BOTTOM on the receipt written tiny, but your employees should at least know the stores return policies if their behind your counter and representing your business!! A lot of employees wandering around aimlessly , perhaps cut them/costs or TRAIN them to be of ASSISTANCE and our (consumers) might explore shopping in these huge pole barns more often!!

Worst ever experience at a store. Waited on everyone except us in electronics even after acknowledging us and saying he'd be right back to help us. Someone else came up after us to ask a question and guy just turned around and started talking to her. Even customer behind us stepped in to advise there was an issue with them just ignoring us. No, no others were before us, not even in queue, and we were bring waited on at one point until you could tell guy didn't want to help. Had to call mgr over and at first he tried to make excuses until other customers stepped in to validate they too were being skipped over. Mgr said he's the head mgr over 4 Jacksonville stores. I find that hard to believe and wow you'd be spread pretty thin and working 24+ hours 7 days a week, if there were more than 24 hours in a day. Lazy, dishonest, and rude people working there. We will never go back to a Best Buy. As a matter of fact, have only purchased twice from a Best Buy in 30 years... Bye

This is the worst company ever. Was told to buy an Apple Watch, have it sent to my house and come back to return. Next time I came in (4days later) the watch trade in price dropped $50. They didn’t honor the price quoted. Also set an appointment with Geek squad, went in (across town) and they said they had no one there to work on my phone. Why have appointments to fix phones if you can’t actually fix it? Then I came in the next day, the guy did warn me to back up my phone (at that time) I said you’re just fixing the back of the phone, it shouldn’t erase the whole phone. I didn’t want to drive all across town for a third time to back the phone up to my computer so I rolled the dice and lost all of my pics in the phone with no way to get them back. I was heartbroken and angry. The organization of this company is terrible. Also kept hearing, “we are short staffed”, and “I don’t make the policies or pricing up”. Corporate should probably identify issues and fix them.

I bought new headphones from a location and wasnt offered any extra warranty when I got these headphones. & this extra warranty " only makes your company more compound profit off the item for sale. if you dont buy the extra warranty best buy only does a 14 day warranty not the 1 year warranty per manufacturer. I have spoken with corp and they dont care that their customer are being mistreated and not taken care of unless we spend extra money. They dont stock items on the shelves very much and I was told to go online and get what I needed or buy a different product. I should have went online and got the one I wanted not settled for less and got a pair that doesnt work correctly. I would shop with this company anymore as you can get these same items on amazon for a fraction of the cost with they have amazing warranties. User's recommendation: never use best buy again.

Brought my phone here for a back of the glass repair covered under AppleCare. The time it took wasn’t bad, however the aftermath was. I got home to set my phone up and my SIM card was missing meaning my phone cellular wouldn’t work. I went to the store to get my SIM card back, and was told by the guy they didn’t see it in the envelope with the rest of my broken glass part. He then claimed I had a digital SIM since it wasn’t in the bag. I had to go back to my carrier and they confirmed there that my card never had a digital SIM card it had a physical one. So in a span of 2 1/2 hours they lost my SIM card and then proceeded to tell me I never had one. I wouldn’t ever recommend coming here for repairs and will not be returning.

Went to the store a few weeks ago to do an online pick up for a game (Christmas gift) the recipient opened it to an empty case to my shock. Apparently after doing some online researching this has happened quite a bit to not just BB but other retailers as well this time of the year. So come today 12/26 walked in to the returns explained to the rep who worked there and we had picked up the same game from the shelf and explained the situation. No fuss, no manager just an explanation and swap. The girl did everything so quick and nothing further. Thank you BB for making this a quick process. While there at the counter I did open the new one to ensure that it was ok, and showed the girl as well. Overall pleasant experience.

Absolute joke of a business you guys are running. I went and got a new computer returned my old one for money off and not even a week later my computer won’t turn on. So I go back to the store to exchange it they say they don’t have it in stock so they send me to another one 45 minutes away. I get there and then they say they don’t have it in stock. I have spent over 5 hours driving to different stores all for a computer that broke a week after getting it. And now I can’t get my old computer back but I have $250 towards store credit that I will never use. What a scam and a waste of time. I will be posting my review on every outlet until someone from the company decides they should probably fix this.

Best Buy can be a very different experience at every store. Employess and managers seem to be the differential. In my opinion this is one of the best or should I say top Best Buy stores in Jacksonville. It is fully stocked with a broad range of products including audio and pod cast products. Staff were friendly and helpful with out being aggressive and in your face. Even with my Trump shirt on I was treated kindly by everyone. My last purchase was over $500. I bought a Zoom Podcast microphone and recorder gear. ( Incredible product if you are in the market). Product was brand new and not tampered with. It functioned properly out of the Box and I was very pleased with my purchase..

I purchased a Sony TV 85". It has been freezing on us constantly having to unplug and plug back in. Geek S. Stated that because it is under warranty, the best option is to have it replaced . We have been getting the run around from Best Buy and now Sony in order to get TV replaced. Now we receive an email stating that the part is on Back order and it will not be till almost Xmas to have tech come out!! What part? No one has been out from Sony or elsewhere to even check the TV to know what is going on or if any parts are needed.. all I know is Geek tech stated the TV needs to be replaced, and it's been hell to get it replaced.

I’ve been here 3x since my first visit in March Same thing about finding a affordable working laptop. Each time is OVERLY SLOW. 1 or 2 associates in the laptop desktop section. Unbelievable doesn’t make any sense YET I walked in and again it’s over 5 or 6 people at the front standing around talking I get it that staff is low EVERYWHERE but my god at least some of the people in the front can at least help in the back when needed. It’s 6 people currently waiting just to get help a few for price checking. SMH Customer service is clearly not important here SMH completely empty with NO HELP…

Tisaun helped me pick out laptop a few weeks ago and was incredibly helpful I was trying to stay under $1000 but I knew I needed a computer with a pretty higher level of specs he helped me look up the programs I was trying to run and made sure we didn't spend more money than necessary by the end of it he found me a perfect laptop for $850 which was way under my budget. Caleb was there as well and was familiar with the program I was trying to run and gave his advice and helped me land the perfect laptop I'm incredibly pleased I can't think you guys enough!

Excellent service from Best Buy's team who delivered my LG G3 TV order. Gave me a heads up before it was delivered and made it a very easy process to get it to my apartment with no hiccups. A few of the staff at this location though need some customer service training. Darnay didn't want to help us with a different, in store TV purchase. Without even checking, he claimed the TV we wanted was out of stock and only begrudgingly checked once we showed him the website said the store had several in stock. How many sales are lost because of this?

I experienced my very first “not good” interaction after 3 Great years as a Geek Squad “subscription “ holder (160.00 annual membership) .. This entity cost me 2days of work by losing my charger. The worst part is, they did not even offer an apology. They offered me a different charger (obviously they thought I was an idiot)… I was the one to say”hold on, let’s test it before I go”… It was NOT compatible with my PC. Bottom line… I will be careful of the BB GS’s that I use… you should also. Customer service is key.

Scheduled iphone battery change appointment. Received multiple texts in advance making sure I confirm that I am showing up. That was important to them. Not letting me know they don’t have the battery, can’t get them in for a week, and that they will need to KEEP MY PHONE THE WHOLE WEEK If I wish to proceed, was not important to them. Also: Why can’t I bring the phone in next week when you have them? They blame Apple. Well, go ahead and blame them for this review also, until your rating drops to nothing.

Depending on when u show up, it could be a great experience or not so much. I have been to this location several times over the years. But on this particular visit, it was a few days after Thanksgiving about 8 pm, slightly busy as is expected with the holidays. Walked around. Waited around but couldn't find anyone to help, so I made the best decision I could with my purchase and left. Still gave it a 4 Star because they have always been great. But don't expect good service when they are busy.

The in store scan feature is not ready for use - do you want us to have this ready for you at store pick up?? Haha click here and wait in line for 15 minutes, then we’ll ask you where you think it might be and tell you to go find it on the shelf and get back in line. One guy actually told me to get a store employee to help get it, he was an employee. We have waited for 45 minutes in the convenient pick up spot outside also. Just shop on Amazon, they have the best prices on this stuff.

Dont waste your time calling the store the company out sources any product you want to order and it is a waste of time for you. The company does not respect you as a customer and will waste your time if you need a product from them that day. I'm tired of this 3rd party vendors who lie to your face and wont be honest, but best buy doesnt care about comments like this and will not change anything they do because it hasnt affected their bottom line yet. Disgusting.

This is a great store in a great location. They have an amazing number of flat screen TVs. If you want ut, it's there. And the prices are very competitive because I checked online. But because I bought a tv at the store I can go there in five minutes if anything goes wrong. But I don't expect that to happen. They seem to be understaffed like every other store post-covid. But they have enough information to shop without help. We were in and out in thirty minutes.

There is one person checking out a line 20 people long. Ive been here three times and cannot wait for hours in their lines. The customer service line is mixed with a store pickup, further complicating everyone’s experience. Even the best buy in miami beach is more competent than the people operating this store. Pick another location even if its further away bc you will have to wait so long for a person to just check you out or make a return.

Their camera department is top notch. I came in not knowing anything and they spent hours with me explaining the pros and cons of practically everything they had in stock. I felt like I had an entire masterclass on filmography by the time I finally purchased my camera and lenses. I’ll be coming back to this Best Buy as long as they continue their camera department the way they have it going currently. Thanks!!

Hard to believe how Best Buy can get much worse but this particular store is doing its best. Associates everywhere talking to each other. 1 person behind check out counter with a line. After 10 minutes to buy a simple electronic I went and asked an associate to please ring me up. She said that can only be done at the front desk. Horrible and unacceptable. Unfortunately not surprising! Thank god for Amazon!!

After multiple visits to Lowes and Home Depot and no one to assist I decided to go to Best Buy to purchase my washer and dryer. My visit there was great. The employee was very knowledgeable and super friendly. I visited a couple of other areas in the store and had the same great experience from other employees. Best Buy in the Town center has the beat customer I have encountered in a long time.

Imagine the disappointment I felt when I finally was able to buy an iMac (open box, excellent condition “Geek Squad certified”) only to get home and not even be able to use my new device that I spent $1,400+ on because “Geek Squad” didn’t put a mouse in the box. And that just tells me “Geek Squad” doesn’t really check their products. Lesson learned, don’t buy open box or trust Geek Squad.

Five stars because both workers Derek and Kyle were super helpful. We had a return and Derek was super nice and patient with us despite having to spend over an hour and some change helping us with different issues that came back up. He mentioned it was only his fourth day and he’s doing great!!! He made a stressful day become so much better, definitely recommend him.

Great experience! My order was actually over the phone after going to the Best Buy in Orange Park, where it showed my product was available and found out they were sold out! The assistant on the phone took my order PERFECTLY while I was driving to this location! When I arrived, the product was at customer service waiting on me! GREAT EXPERIENCE AND NO LINE!!!!!!

Waited an hour for curbside pick up. Went in the store multiple times to see what the problem was. Tv was finally brought out but upon opening at home realized it was the incorrect tv. Drove it back to the store to exchange but they were out of the tv they sold me. Manager was no help and treated me as an inconvenience. Would not recommend this location.

Logan is absolutely amazing! We were very excited about the iPad sale and nervous about inventory.... He found the very last Starlight iPad, making him my hero! We appreciate all of the climbing he did to check the inventory. Everyone in the Apple department is awesome - great customer service, knowledgeable, and great personality. Thank you Best Buy!

Worst customer service I've ever encountered. Manager ( joanna) purposely misled customers in thinking that a glitch happened to the entire BEST BUY system when, in fact, it was her store only having that issue...they vrefused to sell oculus 3 in store , you had to order online first and then wait for pick up inside the store...ridiculous

Best buy is discriminating against its white employees and Christians. They find it appropriate to have meetings and events with no white employees allowed. They have also told employees it's appropriate to wear pride flags but religious things such as crosses or having a Quran is wrong. Best buy is a shameful business that discriminates.

I ordered a 75” Hisense 4K UHD, the price was great, the quality is great, sound is great. I had it ordered for home delivery which went smoothly. I did have to have the first one replaced due to pixel burn ins, but second delivery was just as good as the first and the tv looks great without the burn ins. Thank you Best Buy!

New location with a huge selection of electronics, and appliances. Bought my daughter a SunPak 58 inch tripod for her camera, and the price was great. Plus they price match items shipped by Amazon, and Wal-Mart! Makes a huge difference sometimes especially with the availability of items in store vs waiting for shipping.

Stopped buy to purchase a "special offer" item that was out of stock when I arrived. Ordered online for collection. Process and on-line communication was great but the in store collection staff were not very welcoming. Not a word said to me during the collection process. Sad if you don't enjoy your job.

I found a great deal on an Alexa Show 8. When I got to the register, I noticed the box was opened. The associate took me back out on the floor and we found where they were located in a different display area. He took great care of me. Super nice and helpful. Monday night Memorial Day at almost 750pm.

Don’t do store pick ups here or trade ins here. It took me one hour after I came in when I received the product ready email. I don’t think I have met people working slower than this. Just order online and have it shipped next time. The irony is there were more people working here than customers.

This is a decent Best Buy in a convenient location with lots of parking. There are a number of restaurants I frequent in this plaza and this location is close to a very big shopping district, so I am able to swing by Target and the Louis Vuitton store before or after stopping at this Best Buy.

Staff is very lazy and unfriendly. 30 minutes waiting just to buy a product locked up and then he refused to put on a screen protector for me claiming they no longer offer that. Walked over to geek squad desk and they helped put it on. Don't appreciate being lied to by sales employees.

Just a normal Best Buy. Usually go to the Orange Park location but I was already out here at the time and needed a new keyboard for a surface tablet. Looked around for a while and couldn’t get anyone to help. Eventually ran out of time and just left.

Best Buy told me to return this vizio soundbar to this store. Bought open box excellent quality from Best Buy and this is what they sent. Sound bar and speakers in big box with some bubble wrap , like garbage. Missing remote and some cables.

If you not be careful they rip you off, the staff saying something during sale or fixing after repair or sale they say something else. Just be careful when you shop or fix with their repair and sales.
