Aug 2021- I've been back here several times since my last review and still rates the best in my travels. Must say they are consistently excellent. Meat is always fried up perfectly, veggies are fresh, sauce on point. Owner clearly knows donairs inside and out and keeps them simple which is best. Recommended to me by a friend. Friend told me that the burgers here were great and the donairs mediocre. I found it quite the opposite as the donair was delicious and arguably the best donair I've eaten in recent memory. The cheeseburger was good but nothing extraordinary. The price for a cheeseburger and donair was surprisingly low (I think just about $12) as well as I thought maybe the donair artist (not sure of his job description but he is an artist, it was a damn delicious donair) made a mistake but no, it was that cheap for the two of them. Definitely will be back and I'm going to order 2 donairs!

This is my first time to go this best doniar, its halal and near my house where i am living . And first time I got rude behavior from the guy who was working. I visited 07th aug 2023 at 5:30pm . The reason i am giving lower rating because i ordered food a burger combo . And i was looking for diet coke or diet pepsi or diet anything and i can't find diet anything in the freezer so i asked the guy doyou have anything diet pops , he very rudely answered me whatever you can see thats it . He even didn't try to check if there anything diet pops have or not . As a customer we don't aspect like this behavior. Also burger patty was burned and good is not tasty. Inever wish to go back again this restaurant.

We ordered 3 beef donair combos, my donair meat was cold and the other two were okay. When I mentioned it to the owner who was preparing the food, and all I wanted was for owner to warm it up for me in the microwave so I could enjoy it. In return the owner started yelling as to why the donair was cold and he kept saying it's because of the sweet sauce that he put. I have had donairs at many places and the meat is always warm. I didnt argue with the owner as I knew I was talking to a dead end, another customer intervened and told the owner that his behavior was out of line and he needed to treat his customers better. I am a small business owner as well, and for me to write a review and give 2 stars is the last thing I would do, but I hope the owner reads this and changes his behavior. He will not see me again.

Usually absolutely love this place for our Donairs, but the last 2 times we picked up our order mine was wrong and my boyfriend's also had little to no toppings other than meat. I called the store to let them know that the first time this happened it was like oh well, but two times in a row I wanted to let them know about it. All I got told was..... Well you should be more specific when ordering, and next time I will give you extra of the toppings we missed. I am unhappy with our conversation and could have maybe offered to replace one of the Donairs. I guess I will give it another try. If for a third time in a row this happens, I am not certain if I will be a costume much longer after that.

The staff its not friendly and most specially the fat guy he is so rude he dont have consideration the taste is so terrible the store so much dirty the one who selling to me 12-28 10pm he is so disguisting he never even WASH HIS HANDS he handle the money and serve I ALSO see him HE argue with the lady because of parking stall as a staff he is not allowed to park infront of ur stall even in other stall because that parking is for customer he can park far from the other establishment he needs to learn that iwill not comeback on this donair its not best donair even the attitude toward to ur neighbors establishment he is so rude

3 words. BEST. DONAIR. EVER. It really lives up to its name. Honestly All the bad reviews are fake, this place throughly cleans everything! Perfect if your craving a crispy pita bread, fresh veggies, and delicious donair or shawarma. This place is my go-to! Owner has 2 kids who come every now and then and they are adorable! You can customize your donair or shawarma or even get a fresh french fry/ poutine. The sweet sauce is also BOMB! Owner is also very kind-hearted and hilarious. This place is healthy, addicting and the prices are reasonable! I reccomend this place if youre new to edmonton, or crave a godly lunch!

Now in a Covid-19 environment where every restaurant has put up a Plexiglas barrier between the paying customer and the receiving employee, I quite often wonder what are their new best practices are for preparing the food that is ordered. I assume it was the owner teaching a new employee what to do, but working 2-3 feet from each and without wearing a mask is the first problem. Secondly I order fries of which the new employee needed to open the fry pouch and put it up near his mouth to blow air into it so that it would open......that's bad enough before Covid but for today that is just downright Sick!

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor of the donair i just ordered. A generous portion of meat was cooked on a grill. The pita was warmed in the grill and was fresh with a little crispness. The vegetables were very fresh and completely unwilted. There was just the right amount of sauce, and they had great flavor. The wrap job was done very well. The service and price was great too. I'm usually very skeptical about trying a new donair place, but I'm happy I did. I will be eating here again.

Wed. Apr. 10 at 9:30. Usually this place is good, but today was some young guy I've never seen before. He was with a friend and seemed to be making his friend food. I order 2 super donairs with tzatziki and garlic sauce. My food was ready wierdly quick and his friend thought it was his until he said it was for me. When I got home it was just 2 regular donairs with sweet sauce. He just gave me the food he made for his friend to get me out of there quickly. Not impressed. If they make me a proper order next time I'll change my review.

Have been looking for a place in Edmonton for good shawarmas and this is definitely the one.. Bought a jumbo chicken shawarma combo, it was fresh, delicious and very satisfying. The two guys at the counter were polite and friendly. It was quite busy at the time but they stayed on top of it. Decided to dine in, very clean and well maintained. I loved the food and I'd definitely recommend this place!

Good Donair and fries, both well seasoned and made fresh to order! The menus accurately display the food so there's no guesswork in what type of Donair you're about to get :) The establishment looks aged but they have a good health record, no pests, facilities all working properly. The service was quick and friendly. There were a few customers when I arrived and 2 others arrived after myself, no one waited more than a couple minutes to get their food. It wasn't actually the best Donair I've had but it's gotta be top 5!

Went into today to grab a reg. cheese donair to go before work. You can tell the place is dated but nonetheless clean. There was an older gentleman working behind the counter (assuming he’s maybe the owner) The donair was very good, no complaints! Pita was fresh, vegetables crisp, sweet sauce not overly sweet and the donair meat itself was wonderful with a slight spice to it. Prices are very reasonable! I believe it was only $12 for donair and this Egyptian mango drink (highly recommend as well) will be returning!

Parking is spacious. Unless the front parking is busy, you have to park farther than the front parking. One staff only during Saturdays and Sundays, better come here when it's not rush hour. I ordered super donair, for me it's huge. I also asked for sauces on the side, lettuce onions and tomatoes were underneath the meat. It's comforting and filling to eat this kind of meal. I'm coming back to try their hamburgers and shawarma.

We had do airs in many places and have to say it's been awhile since we last had a great Donair we recommend this place absolutely its worth the road trip hands down

Had the chicken donair with a tiny bit of sweet sauce and medium amount of hot sauce. Not sure what they marinate the chicken with but it is VERY GOOD. Overall average donair, but chicken tasted freaking amazing. Can't vouch foe beef, lamb or falafel. Service was a little slow but there was also a rush of custimers when we went. Worth the 10 min wait IMO.

One of the better Donair shops in the city of Edmonton. Food was above expectations… I can tell this guy really cares about the customers, and he isn’t just out to get your money like so many others, and that is what makes him stand out in the already oversaturated market of Donair eateries in the city!

SO good!!! I decided to try this place after seeing a stellar Google review a few days ago and I was not disappointed - I got the chicken shawarma and fries and it was absolutely delicious. Tortilla was nicely crisp and flavour balance of the shawarma was on point. Fries were hot and fresh. Place is very clean. Owner friendly. Give this place a try!

It is the best donair you will find for the price. Skip the subway nearby, check this location out. They offer more than donairs, do it well and for the right price, what more can a guy ask for? My only complaint is ask for extra sauce, as they typically go a bit easy, but even then, the donair meat is not dry, but almost tangy and soft, so that will not affect my rating.

These are not the "best" donairs in town for me, but Best Donair has damn good eats. If you're in the Jasper Gates area and craving some tasty donair or onion rings, give Best a go. As a bit of extra background some of my coworkers swear by the cheeseburger, but I've yet to try one personally. Fast service, hot and tasty food, and genuinely nice people making it for you.

Best donair in town by farrrr. Excellent portion size and the owner is a really nice guy. Try and you won’t be disappointed.

Actually one of the best Donairs I've had in Edmonton. Great balanced ratio between donair meat and lettuce/tomatoes/onions. On occasion, there is too much meat for my preference but that might be a plus for others. Not a fan of their fries. EDIT: THEY'VE CHANGED THEIR FRIES! They now have crispy golden crinkle cuts and they are delicious.

I've been to a lot of different Donair places around town but I have to admit that place is the best they're doing are just have a special taste to them it's a real friendly atmosphere you can sit in there and watch the hockey game or whatever they have on TV and just enjoy yourself it's very cozy in there you have to get out and drive

Love this place! The falafel is the best in Edmonton-made fresh to order and have the perfect crisp on the outside. The two guys who are always here are also extremely nice! Please if you are in the area try it out, I haven’t had anything I don’t like :)

My wife went to enjoy a guilty pleasure. Today was our first time here. I want to share how good the cheese donair was. I had the chicken shawarma and it was one of the best I have had to date. Owners awesome lost my wallet he went into the parking lot and found it for me the below message I wrote years ago. By far the best burger combo for five bucks in the world a lot of people complain about this and that just get it how it comes! These guys can be really busy due to the low price so be patient and understanding

Very poor service. Prices are high for what you get. Doniar I had was horrible. Seems there is a sauce shortage there. Staff make you feel like I should apologize for interrupting their day placing an order there. I wish there was a no star option, because this is exactly what they should be getting. Ordered 2 cheese donairs no veggies and fries, when my food is delivered the donairs are loaded with veggies, with onions rings. Tried calling back, but of course no answer. Never going back and I suggest you don't either.

Been a customer here for several years and they never disappoint. Donairs are always high quality, large portions, and very low prices compared to other donair shops in the city. The only thing I do miss, however, is their $5 cheeseburger meal deal. If you bring that back, I'll edit the rating to five stars!

Good chicken shawarma...if they have it the day you go. Edit July 8, 2018: What happened?! We've been coming for 6 years and our shawarma tonight was nothing like our usual. Barely any meat and couldn't tasted the garlic sauce at all. If this was my first visit, I would NOT return. Was the business sold??

This place has been my go to for a low cost, high quality meal with my girlfriend for almost six years now ! They even have great food for kids, amazing customer service and that small diner look and feel! All around amazing place, strongly recommend for anyone looking to try something new !

I like to try as many donair spots in the city as possible. The name is a stretch of the imagination. If you like dry, grilled pita and dry/ greasy meat you'll like these donairs. Staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean, and the prices seemed reasonable.

The food was good. The donairs we're good but my friend got food poisoning from the donair been getting sick all day. Please make sure you guys are doing good clean up every day so this doesn't happen again. Us humans don't need food poisoning

A very delicious donair. Everything was home made, including the fresh falafel. If you are a vegetarian and want a delicious homemade falafel, this is the spot! My kids, who are not vegetarian, said the meat donair was also very good!

I went here and orderd a jumbo donair no onion. They put onions on it and the lettuce was in chunks not shredded. Something tasted off. I would not reccomend going here for a donair if your hungry. BEST DONAIR=WORST DONAIR

Ordered on skip and was sent the wrong order completely, while I recognize this may not be the restaurants fault, I do expect the restaurant to ensure the right order is going to the right driver.

The price is the strong point here - $6 for a Donair is great. The donair itself wasn't exactly "The Best", as there are much better options in the city. However it is a good cheap lunch.
