We had A bad experience happened at the lobby of Best Western Plus Macleod Trail branch with the rude receptionist Dan working 3pm to 11 pm shift. My family 3 adults 2 toddlers and I checked in to this hotel last July 31,2022. We are not from Calgary but we have few friends here and I let them know that we are staying here. I invited them to come over because we have not seen each other for a very long time. Three of my friends came in with their husbands and kids (three toddlers in total). We decided to use the indoor pool so the kids could have fun. But, what expected to be an enjoyable stay turned out to be a nightmare. I could not sleep last night thinking of the traumatic experience I and my friends had. We only spent an hour at the pool and decided to leave as soon as the people are coming in to enjoy this amenity. Then my friends waited outside my room while I am getting ready so we could head out for dinner. While I was struggling to get my toddler back to the room and all my friends are there on the hallway by the elevator, he suddenly came to us in a very arrogant way and in an angry tone asking if my friends are checked in or are coming as guests. I told him that they are my hotel guests. He continued to say in a loud voice that we should not use the pool if we are not hotel guests, and that we are very disrespectful. He further commented that he felt very disrespected that 15-20 non-paying guests used the pool and the towels and none left for other guests and he has to restock. He insisted that we used all the towels there. We only used four towels in total and in fact, there were not enough stocks of towels when we came in. A few guests have been there too and used the towels. He kept on saying I invited 15-20 people in the hotel. I have a video to prove how many people really used the swimming pool. He embarrassed me to tears in front of my friends and other guests passing by. He reprimanded me like I am a toddler. Where in fact, he could have approach me privately and inform me of what should have been done. The tone of his voice and the words that he stated felt humiliating and extremely rude. I felt that I was belittled and my friends were left speechless because they were shocked of the treatment we received. I was very calm and apologetic for I know that I also have a mistake of not asking permission before using the pool (which I think would be okay). I don’t think I and any guest deserve to be treated like that. As a paying costumer, I don’t deserve to be harassed verbally and emotionally. I am willing to pay for the pool usage and I am sorry I did not know the policy. Furthermore, what was really insulting was when he even told me that he will tell the breakfast buffet tomorrow to watch out for those 15-20 people as I may have a plan to invite my friends again for breakfast. I am hoping that there will be a resolution regarding this complaint and this situation will not be experienced again by any of your guest. I felt very stressed after what he said to the point that at night and next day I feel like I am going to have a miscarriage. I am emotionally harassed and I physically suffered. I am 6months pregnant and Dan is a 6ft tall guy working as a front desk but a bully and very unprofessional.

We were very pleased with our stay at Best Western Plus Calgary!! If you're looking for a nice hotel that's really close to the stampede grounds, Calgary Tower and all the amenities of downtown, then this is the perfect choice! We chose this hotel because I had an appointment at the Lifemark Sports Medicine Center and the hotel was less than 2 km away from there. The hotel isn't big, but it is really nice. Our check in experience was fantastic. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly gentleman. While we were checking in he offered us menus to several different restaurants that were close by and delivered for free. Thanks to him, we ended up having a fantastic meal delivered to our room from Singapore Sam's. If you like Asian cuisine, I highly recommend ordering from Singapore Sam's. Our room was lovely. It wasn't overly big, but the perfect size for 2 people. It was very clean and visually appealing. We upgraded to a king bed with a 2 person whirlpool tub. The whirlpool tub was definitely worth the upgrade!! Because of COVID restrictions the breakfast buffet was not available so we were offered a brown bag breakfast, which included a bottle of water, fruit and a pastry. We opted out of the brown bag breakfast and went to a restaurant instead. We went to Red's Diner downtown, which was only 2.3 km away from the hotel. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!!! They specialize in breakfast and WOW we were not disappointed! We have absolutely no complaints with our stay. The location was great, the room was beautiful and our meals were fantastic!

The front desk people were extremely rude and harassed us due to all of the guests in our room are teenagers (18,16,14,11). When we first entered the hotel 2/4 were wearing a mask and the other two were attempting to cover their faces with shirts. We were condescendingly asked (do you guys not know there's a pandemic going on), a comment that would likely never be made to grown men but was followed with rude comments and behavior towards young, female guests. The lobby was completely free of guests and the concierge was masked as well as behind glass. Next, we decided to go to the pool and didn't wear masks, assuming we surely wouldn't be forced to wear masks whilst swimming, again no people anywhere around. Both concierge men came over towards us and raised their voices while threatening to kick us out of our room. Minutes late we were on our way back to our room to grab masks and were quietly talking amongst ourselves when we got yelled at again this time being asked "Do you think this is funny". The men are rude, arrogant, and we genuinely were trying to follow their rules ( wearing the masks they gave us at the front desk and returning to our room to get masks for the pool), we even tried to apologize the first time. We never talked back or had any reason for them to think that we were disrespectful. Nice rooms but not nice workers, especially if you are a young female.

We have stayed for a week, this week. Myself (female) and my 14 year old son visiting from UK. The reception staff have been wonderful and helpful. We have used the gym and pool daily, often twice. It’s clean and cool. The jacuzzi is lovely and warm. Our room was a king with a jacuzzi in bedroom, it was perfect, large room, with bed and sofa and desk and the bathroom has bath and shower in addition to the spa in the room which the bubbles are fab! Room also has fridge and microwave! We are early risers and liked that breakfast started early - options are cereal, oatmeal, waffles and pancakes as well as eggs of varieties and sausage or bacon. There’s a good selection of breads and cake stuff too! We liked it and when we ate around 7am daily, it was never busy. There is sufficient parking front and back. The location was good for us. We hired a car but chose to walk the 1.8 mile to the mall / cinema and the 1.5 mile to tower and city centre because it was sunny! We weren’t out much after 9pm so can’t comment on safety of area after dark! But we felt looked after in this hotel, we felt safe, well fed and happy!

We had pre-booked a few different places in hopes of finding a half decent breakfast included rather than a bagged version. Upon calling around 2 days before the Best Western was the only one who was offering the usual hot breakfast--score. Outside of the wonderful hot breakfast being provided, the room we rented was clean and bright with AC. Beds are comfortable, 4 pillows on each, bar fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. Check-in was easy and the pool/hot tub is available just like old times. Except as I write this, once again I can hear kids stomping on the floor above me. The hotel seems to be in a good area, close to downtown, the Chinook Center Mall, restaurants, and other amenities. Parking area is well lit too. The only thing that they should be doing with the pool facility is limiting the number of people which they aren't. It was overrun with 27 people in the small space. We're not out of the pandemic yet and while traveling still should be done, there should to be certain precautions in place to ensure guest safety. On that note, I'm impressed the staff is still wearing masks--thank you for helping me keep my family at home safe when I return.

This hotel was surprisingly excellent. Night desk manager was amazing, friendly, helpful. He got us more towels, extra pillows and blankets, and even offered to keep the pool open a bit later because we checked in late at night about 10pm. Breakfast was good and there was always a table. You can ask for bacon and the nice ladies will make it special. The coffee was hot. They made our little bacon monster a huge plate and she was thrilled. The pool is WARM!!! It was actually comfortable to go in it. Our bed was comfortable. The room was clean and had a sitting area. We did not find the noise from the LRT train was too obvious, never heard it even with a room facing the back. Lots of parking behind hotel with quick back door access. It is a very good location for someone who is going north or south but out of downtown. Although just watch the turn into hotel is like an alley/parking lot either right before train if coming from west, or immediately after if coming from east. Air conditioning worked well and was cold enough to turn down! We will stay again and had no complaints at all.

The good: Location, Decent Parking, guy at desk seemed nice. The rest: Checked into room and it was overwhelming with fake air freshener. Clearly to hide some smell in the room. Went back to the desk and changed rooms. Checked into next room, same smell ,not as bad. Yuck. Mattress is worn out, at least 2-3 inches lower in the centre than the ends. Location is right on the transit rail tracks, train goes by every 10 min or so, screeching metal on metal sound and the bells of the road crossing clear and loud. Had to turn on my bathroom exhaust fan to get rid of the air freshener smell...bearings are gone, noisy and annoying. Turned on my AC to get some fresh air in, fans worn out. Loud. This is a $79 hotel dressed up. I'm shocked at how high the reviews are. I travel for work a lot and this is in the bottom 10%. If it were priced at $79 I would have been perfectly understanding. But, it's not. There's way better options in Calgary for better way better pricing. But you may have to drive 10 minutes. To me the price wasn't worth the convenience.

Stayed here for a night with my sister as we drove from Edmonton to Calgary. I don’t really know Calgary or where to stay so I picked something based off the price and convince of our drive. I was a little nervous based on some of the reviews I read but was pleasantly surprised. The surrounding area is a little bare, but the neighborhood just behind the hotel was gorgeous. But the hotel was very clean and we felt safe. The room we had was HUGE! The only downside was the floors are very thin so we could hear the kids above us running around in their room. The pool looked clean, and they provided towels. They also had a lovely breakfast. pancakes, waffles, eggs, sausage, oatmeal, fruit, cereal and bread. Loads of parking in the back and a decent amount of sports in the front! I would absolutely stay here again. It seems like it’s only a 20 minute walk from the Stampede Grounds so I’m sure that’s a huge draw.

Went their as it was close to the calgary flames game. The guy on the front desk who I believe is "Dan" was exceptional. He went above and beyond for our family and gave us advice for best transport to the game which ended up working out great. We are from overseas so that local knowledge meant alot and saved us alot of stress and time. Dan also knew we were in a rush and gave us some nearby food pamphlets which saved alot of hassle and we were able to order something in before the game. It may sound small but that extra effort made a big impact on our experience and Dan is a credit to your company and the success of this hotel. The breaky is fine with plenty of scrambled egg n bacon available plus an array of cereal, juice, breads, coffee etc. it's more then enough to get you going for the day. We also tried the pool before we checked out. Towels are available at pool side and pool and facility appeared tidy and clean. Would stay again.

Contrary to other people's reviews, the night manager (Dan) was the embodiment of customer service. I called around 7 last night to see if they had any rooms and he held one for us until we got there. He made sure I had the best deal by asking if I was a CAA member, checked us in quickly, provided us with info about the pool, restaurants that deliver and breakfast and was very friendly. The pool is great; there's a pool, a kids' wading pool and a jacuzzi. There's viewing windows as well...so parents don't have to get wet while they supervise their kids I suppose. It wasn't too echoey in the pool either. The rooms were great. Lots of room in the business suite we had which was great with the baby. The furniture and decor was nice as well. As always at best western, the bed was super comfy. The breakfast was excellent as well and I loved that it ran until 11 so I didn't have to rush getting the baby ready. I have found my new favourite hotel in Calgary!

Clean hotel, no trouble sleeping, coffee machine in lobby, room was a great size, we stayed 2 nights. The front desk worker was very friendly, polite and helpful; even recommended calling a cab for us to the saddledome, informing us of the trouble with parking and wanting to lessen the stress; he was right. The morning cleaning staff was great as well. The location is busy but very convenient as it is a short drive to all the main Calgary attractions. The pool is not that big but decent and has a separate wading pool for little ones. My husband checked out the gym and said it was good for a full body workout. Breakfast included cheese omelets, sausages, boiled eggs, oatmeal bar, yogurt, fruit, muffins, bagels, toast, make your own waffle station, and cereal bar. I would stay again.

If no stars was an option thats what I would have picked. We arrived late and they stuck us in a room with the door facing the lobby so you could hear everyone and everything going on in the lobby. It also smelled like stale smoke. So I asked to change rooms and the front desk informed me there was no other rooms and that room used to be a smoking room. He switched us to the room beside which was still in the lobby but didn't smell as bad. He was very nice and apologetic. The next day we were able to switch rooms but had to go back at 3 to do so or we wouldn't be able to. They also put a hold on my credit card and when I called a week later to get them to take it off he informed me nobody could help me because it was Friday at 3:00 and management wouldn't be back until Monday. He was extremely rude and no help at all. They didn't take the hold off for 10 days.

Worse hotel experience I've ever had. Got a room for four people and none of us enjoyed our stay at this location. First of all, we were greeted by a rude woman, she was actually the only bad rep we ran into and everyone else was very nice. the rooms were small and our view was terrible, not to mention the windows were filthy and full of bird poo. Our bathroom door broke on the first day and we had troubles trying to get it to close for the remainder of our stay. the pressure on the shower was low. The pools were full of chlorine. The breakfast was horrible, not enough options and it tasted days old. The elevator broke at one point. The gym was rhe size of two walk in closets and the stay was expensive!! my family usually picks Best Western for our vacatiob stays, but you can count on us never ever going back to these hotels again!

  • Lee Nichols

Booking my room, and checking in, we're needlessly complicated. The staff seemed to be unsure of how to properly do it. The room was clean, but poorly designed. The bathroom door is on a heavy automatic close hinge, and is a pain in the rear. The staff are mostly friendly. However Ryan at the front desk chased me into the elevator on my first night, proceeded to ask me who I am, who else is joining me, what my friends room number is, when he's checking in, what room I was in. Then as soon as I walked into my room, he immediately called me from the front desk to confirm who I was. I felt super uncomfortable by this. The remote in me room has a broken button, I asked for a replacement and was told no. I've stayed in other hotels in the area, and my next trip here I'm sure I'll find a better place than this.

Overall, this hotel was ideally suited to our needs. A comfortable room; attentive friendly staff; ideal location (not very far from the highway), and a reasonable price. Check in and out was a breeze. Their breakfast bar was amazing. They had pancake and waffle grills; choice of juices and hot beverages (great coffee). They had a pot of hot porridge that was a popular choice (complete with extra fixings). Chinook Mall was less than a five minute drive down the street, and the downtown was just 5 minutes north. The area itself is traffic heavy, and typical urban commercial (strip malls, car dealerships), but your not far from fancier spots and nice neighbourhoods. The area was safe and easy to locate. My wife and I were there for 5 days and would easily pick this location again.

  • Joe

Wouldn't suggest this place. sketchy area. Expect a 730am wake up call as the cleaners carts are very loud and they are up and down your hallway all morning. Never heard cleaners be so loud before in 40 years of travelling. Got a jacuzzi room for $220 a night but the tub was old and kinda stinky. Also the hot breakfast is a joke, didn't get breakfast either day as all the food was gone 45 mins before it ended. So we had to buy breakfast off site. They don't even have pop machines you can use debit on or a way to get money so we had to go out late to get some beverages and watch people smoke crack. The TV was also junk, we couldn''t even watch it. Overall not worth the money.

We have stayed at the Best Western Plus Calgary Center Inn several times, over the last few years, and have never been disappointed! We often have several of our staff members coming and going during the week, and need to modify our reservations, we call directly to the hotel to make changes and they are always very happy to help! The front desk staff has always been very friendly and accommodating, the rooms are spacious, with comfortable beds, and the (free) breakfast has a lot of variety and has never left us disappointed. The location of this hotel is also really nice, as it is VERY close to the Stampede grounds, and downtown, and being right on McLeod Trail makes it easily accessible! Since staying here the first time, we have not booked at another hotel in the City!

  • Bonnie-Lee Copeman

Front staff was super friendly, they gave our group rooms across from each other which was great. When we got to our room it had not be cleaned yet from previous customers. The housekeeping staff got right on it as I called front desk to find the one who checked us in already at door to apologize for the error. Within half hour room was cleaned and ready for us. The front desk staff was super helpful getting a cab and making sure we were updated on arrival etc. The breakfast room was spacious, clean and offered a variety from scrambled eggs, sausage patties to waffles, toast and cereal. The new renovations were wonderful. Would highly recommend this hotel. It is super convenient if attending functions at the saddledome, only a $8 cab ride.

  • Cody Rinas

The staff at the front desk were excellent. Nice and clean rooms and public areas. The pool was a good temperature, and the hot tub was nice and hot. The front and rear parking lots are also very well lit at night.

Comfortable beds and pillows. Room was well appointed. Next time I plan to bring my chromecast so I can have my own selection of shows to watch on TV. The cable TV is just ok, but I don't expect much more at this price point.
Safety
Parking lot is well lit at night.
Walkability
Very close to stampede grounds and a few restaurants.

Stayed two nights in June in a double queen room. Was really looking for a large room as I had my 4 month old with me and wanted the room for her to play (as 2 other guests were staying with us). Pleasantly surprised by room size. Downside was there was somebody else's hair found on the pillow- which grosses me out a bit -and as with most hotels, the room decor was a bit dated (although the bedding was a nice fluffy white comforter). Enjoyed the pool area and the breakfast included was great (weekends it's open until 11am!) Location is great in Calgary. On a busy street but close to malls and downtown. Some restaurants and convenience stores in walking distance- but nothing too fancy. Overall, I would stay here again.

I've been staying in this hotel 3 times so far when I travel to Calgary for business and will be definitely coming back. It's conveniently located - about 3-4 miles from downtown, 10-15 minutes during rush hour. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Way to do business, guys! Rooms are large and nice - not very luxury, more basic, but it's not a 4-star hotel. I would say it's a very solid 3-star quality. Beds are comfortable with good linens. Full breakfast is included in a daily rate. In addition to all the above this hotel has both: smoking and smoke-free rooms. I'm a smoker and nowadays (given that global unfriendliness to smokers) it's very difficult to find a decent hotel with smoking rooms.

  • Pauline Wong

Our room was recently renovated and it shows. Beautiful, clean and spacious room with comfortable beds. The bathtub/shower combo is great for those travelling with young children as well as the children's wading pool. We personally enjoyed the whirlpool hot tub. The complimentary breakfast was wonderful - the make-your-own pancake and waffle station is an excellent idea and comes with fresh fruit and whipped cream. High-speed wifi was reliable and you can connect up to 6 devices per room. Front desk staff were super friendly and welcoming. Couldn't ask for a more conveniently located hotel with free parking.

Great budget stay!! Comfy beds, great continental breakfast, a delicious fancy coffee machine in the lobby, and friendly staff! Central location makes it easy to order takeout on Uber/skip the dishes if you don’t have a car. It was a bit noisy at night sometimes with the trains going by and loud guests in the room above but I would still 1000% recommended this hotel to anyone staying in Calgary. Thanks for the great stay!

Stayed here this past weekend with my son's hockey team. The staff were amazing! Given that there was a pee wee hockey team staying there, noise levels were a tad high, lol. They let the pool stay open for the team after our late game on Friday so the kids could blow off some steam, they opened breakfast early for us as we had an early morning game Sunday and just overall the staff were phenomenal. The breakfast was great, bed comfy, rooms spacious. Would definitely stay here again! Thanks for a great weekend!

The staff were helpful, pleasant and courteous and the rooms and facilities were clean and visually appealing. The continental breakfast menu had a good selection to appeal to everyone. (Eggs, sausage, waffles, pancakes- with all the fresh toppings and real whip cream, fresh fruit, breads, cereals, yogurt, hot and cold beverages. The seating area was spacious and tables were clean. The rooms were clean and amenities were in good working order. We weren't there long enough to enjoy the pool or gym facilities but we will be sure to the next time we stay in Calgary at the Best Western.

Customer Service was horrible. I had a reservation for the time during the Global Energy Show in Calgary and missed the long (7-day) cancellation deadline by a few hours and cancelled 6.5 days in advance because of change in plans. Booking.com’s representatives were kind and said it shouldn’t be a problem and asked the hotel to waive the fees. They would not back down and Bonnie, the manager, said there is no way. Here was the official cold response: Best Western PLUS Calgary Centre Inn said: “Guest will be charged first night.”

Lots of kids running around and took up the pool and hottub so I couldn't utilize those facilities which was a bummer. The kids ended up knocking on my door so I called the front desk and the kind gentleman helped dissolve the situation so it didn't happen again. The continental breakfast wasn't for me the only thing I could eat in there were some unripe or overripened fruits. I attempted the hard boiled egg but it just didn't taste right.

Our experience at this hotel was great. The man at the front desk went above and beyond the call of duty to make sure our room keys worked after the fist attempt. Usually I am the one making the trips back and forth and instead, he let us in our room and took it upon himself to bring us new keys after he repaired the problem. It's not huge but it did impress me and for that I will bring my family back and recommend this location to my friends. If you have anything going on at the Stampede grounds, this is the place to stay!

Great clean hotel. The night manager was so helpful and kind. Breakfast was a typical free hotel breakfast but had the waffle and pancake station so my kids were happy. Beds were super comfortable. They accommodated my family of 5 with a cot which is so helpful. Pool was pretty standard but my 10 year old was happy with it. Only drawback was that there isn’t many restaurants in the hotel vicinity but lots further down Macleod trail if you have a vehicle. Will stay again!

Good overall experience, room was clean, breakfast was good, front desk guys are the best :) Some small cons... whirlpool had some kind of bleach or something in it so it bleached my swimsuit. Might be an accident? Not really sure but management is looking into it. We were in 216 and the air conditioning was kinda broken so it was incredibly loud... again we notified management and they're looking into it. Manager called after we left to follow up and let me know it's being worked on, so I appreciate the good service :)

Great location and hotel staff are so helpful. We stayed in a King Suite. Room was clean and big for our 3 night stay. Breakfast was hot and fresh. We wake up early for breakfast at 7. Everything is so nicely prepared. Even can make your own waffles. Hotel also has a coin op laundry to use for the long stays like ours. So convenient. I highly recommend and will def rebook here again for our next stay.

This hotel was the worst hotel i have ever rented , 1st the advertised amenities they weren't offering pool and gym Then they moved us to a room fully occupied, and moved us again each night in that hotel either we are moving rooms or AC wont work. This was just a tip in the ice berg, on check out the messed up credit card and charges , i still have 484 dollar hold on my card and am waiting for reversal on Monday. I will never book this hotel even in my dream , very disorganised and shady

August 2023: Staff here are very professional and service oriented. They were all just great. As a Best Western platinum member, I was disappointed in the room itself, which was very poorly lit. The bad part of the stay was the parking. Staff do what they can, but parking is difficult here, particularly for the disabled. I would not stay here again.

Had a great stay. Friendly staff at check-in and check out. Professional and courteous. Would be nice if given a room not close to the elevator even I am just using my points for my 1 night stay. Breakfast was decent, I like the hot breakfast options. Would have been nice if the space was a lot bigger. Good thing it wasn't crowded during our stay. Good to know that they do have pool for kids to enjoy. Enjoyed the hot tub! Would definitely come back!

  • Naomi Leonard

Our first night was not great, our room smelled of smoke and they made a mistake by giving our room to someone else who tried to get in in the middle of the night and woke us up. They were very accommodating though, they moved us into a nicer room the next day while we were out and discounted our stay for the second night. The pool and hot tub were great, the kids loved it. The kids also loved the breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Very nice and Understanding staff. We need a lot more people like Mr. Dan who works at the front desk of this branch. He should be promoted to the next level of promotion like a manager or supervisor. Well, him and his collogue (not sure his name) they both are very nice, communicate very clear and most important understanding. Mr. Dan arranged the room at such a short notice and I appreciate all his efforts and hard work. Thank you so much

Myself, husband and two kids spent four great nights here. We enjoyed the pool, hot tub, and free breakfast buffet. The location is close to Chinook Centre (a bit of a long walk but it was was walkable) and about five minute stroll to the C-Train station. We didn't have any problems with the hotel but the staff we talked to were pleasant. Unlike other hotels, the wifi signal actually reached outside of the lobby. We'd all stay there again.

  • Jeffrey Hendriks

The staff was super friendly and courteous. The breakfast was passable at best, we almost left to go pay for breakfast elsewhere instead of eating the free food here. That one nagtive comment aside: the room was what you’d expect. The staff was absolutely the best part of the stay. Parking is a little cramped. Overall, I still have to give it 4 stars just because every staff member I interacted with really tried to make this a good stay.

  • Tara Smart

Great place to stay. The front desk staff was super friendly. No problems booking or checking in. Nice large very clean room with more features than I expected, and the bed was very comfortable and even though my room faced the c-train I hardly noticed it even with the window open. My daughter and I really enjoyed the pool and hot tub. I would definitely stay here again next time my daughter has an event at the Royal Music Conservatory.

  • Patrick Fogarty

Stayed one night here. Not the greatest location of the city. Plenty of sketchy people around and in the hotel. Room had a coffee maker but no water bottles for it. Definitely not using bathroom sink water for it. C-train is beside the hotel and goes by constantly. Won't be returning to this location unfortunately.

This hotel is awesome! The front desk staff are outstanding and very welcoming. The location is great - close to downtown and Stampede grounds. Our room was newly renovated. We were the first guests to use the room and it was great! The beds were comfortable. We used the pool and hot tub. It was basic, but fine for our boys to play in. Breakfast was good - we enjoyed the waffles. I would absolutely stay here again.

  • Gerald Schmidt

This awesome hotel is so very well run and so very well located. It's an easy walk to the Stampede grounds or the train station which has 2 stops at the Stampede grounds. Great parking, nice rooms, awesome breakfast, pool area is very refreshing but the best part and what keeps me coming back is the wonderful staff. That you see the same people year after year says a great deal about this fine hotel in my opinion.

  • Daria Krupinov

My husband and I came to Calgary for a business trip and we stayed one night in the hotel. The room was clean and it was huge. I liked our stay in that hotel except one thing - breakfast. The tables in the dining room were dirty, spilled juices and poor selection of food. So I had to go to other place to eat

I could not find a reason to give less stars other than maybe breakfast closing a little early but the front concierge staff make up for it. From calling to confirm the reservation all the way to check out. The kindness and courteous nature from both day and night shifts was not only a rare find these days but extremely appreciated. Hopefully they are recognized for their efforts. Will be booking again and again

Very nice inn. Very polite and helpful staff. Pool and fitness area is nice and clean. Pool area has main swim pool, childrens shallow pool, and hot tub. Breakfast included. Room was really clean. Staff were able to provide us with and setup a toddler play pen for our 1yr old to play/sleep in :). Free parking. Nearby LRT station and restaurants. Downtown and stadium also nearby. Overall experience is A+.

  • Lindsey Knight

We picked it for the price (despite the unfriendly man on the phone at the desk). And when we got there it was great. The room was fine; clean and quiet, and Dan, a different person at the desk, was the hero of our trip. He helped us find him (we were lost), then helped us find food, venues, transportation... He was a regular tour guide! He really made our trip. Thanks Dan, and Best Western!

Our friends came for a funeral 7month pregnant and with a 2 year old, we were shocked how they were treated! they were put in a room beside the elevators and drunk people screaming the night and the elevator going up and down they asked to be moved and were told they had no rooms which we later found out was not true. totally unacceptable

We arrived late at night and got assigned room 123. The room is just by the lobby and you can hear people talking in the lobby. The window of the room is totally blocked by a wall. Room size is good. The room was clean. Free breakfast was great. Addendum: we returned to this hotel a few days later. This time we got assigned to a room on the 4th floor. Added one more star to this review.

  • Linda Lafond

very welcoming staff. room was quiet and spacious. The bed was comfortable. Television had many viewing channels. The pool room is great for kids and adults. There is a larger swimming pool and a smaller pool right beside the whirpool that is great for little ones to sit or stand in and splash around. Breakfast offered many choices. The hotel was reasonably priced . Would stay again

The hotel was good, room was nicely decorated and furnished and clean. I appreciated the extra steps taken during COVID to ensure our safety. We had an amazing experience with Dan at the front counter- truly seems to enjoy his job and the customer experience. Definitely will be back.

Good central small hotel with 'just enough' amenities. Nice breakfast buffet. Room was excellent. Staff very helpful and polite. It is a modest hotel for people who don't need fluffy upscale stuff but do want clean, comfy, convenience. Easy to get to anywhere in city from here. Probably perfect for Stampede.

A great hotel. Good location, clean, large rooms, excellent staff! Good value for the money... Dan, the front desk attendant was amazing. So accommodating, made sure we got exactly the room we wanted, suggested great places to eat in town, even gave us a map of the area and marked the best places to take pictures around town. A great experience in all. Thanks!

  • David Holder

Enjoyed my stay here, everything was good: a clean room, friendly staff, standard breakfast, a good swimming pool, however in tje gym, the weight machine needs to be updated, it's old, clunky and outdated time to upgrade

Nice sized rooms. Really clean. The very nice, bald gentleman behind the counter had a big smile on his face. He was super helpful and gave me directions to the nearest liquor store. The location is solid. Obviously not a 5 star hotel but for what you pay I rate this hotel 5 stars as my expectations were exceeded by the room and level of customer service.

  • Colleen Howe

Great location for getting places. Friendly staff who were willing to provide suggestions on food and things to do. Lots of well lit parking. Nice pool/hot tub- nothing special but clean and appeared to be well maintained. Nice clean room. Really enjoyed the clean remote. Used a playpen provided by the hotel and it was newer and very clean. Awesome stay!

  • Jessica Zuffa

Easy 5 stars! The room was clean and up to date with everything you need. But the best part of our stay was the cheerful Armando T! He was more then welcoming, polite and went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. Thank you again Armando! We will be back

Front desk staff very welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was excellent...very clean, everything worked and the bed perfect. The breakfast was more than adequate and the breakfast staff were on top of everything so that you did not have to wait for food. This hotel is worth staying at...far more superior than other hotels in the area

  • Nee Tran

Loved the service! Dan at the front desk was amazing; he was very welcoming and friendly. My boyfriend and I had stayed at 5 different hotels in Calgary during the past year, and this one was the best in terms of customer service, the breakfast, and the room. :)

I’m stunned at the amazing level of service. The staff are so friendly. No less than 3 front desk employees have gone above and beyond to make our stay trouble free. They called our room with dinner suggestions, gave us walking directions, very late checkout without charge, local store information… everything has been fantastic.

  • Jonathan Cornford

I've been hear since Thursday and leave tomorrow. The staff have been so helpful and friendly. My room was spotless every day. I would definitely stay hear again and I would most definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Calgary. And the food that was put on for our group was gorgeous. A big thumbs up from me.

  • Jon Denton

We stayed here for two nights at the end of a two week Canada trip . Comfy beds , nice room . Basic gym - just a few cardio machines and a small swimming pool . Average breakfast - but good enough ! Easy to get to downtown Calgary - 40 minute walk or 10 minute Taxi .

A simple hotel that will suffice basic needs. The hotel provides breakfast but does not maintain a restaurant. Dining options are available within walking distance. The staff are friendly and helpful. The ambiance and selection of furniture and furnishings gives a rusty feeling and can be improved.

  • Matthew Maisonneuve (Ramuh)

Amazing stay! The staff made this trip so much easier! Very friendly, especially Dan! He also gave us a good recommendation for food to order in! The room was clean, and was very large! The breakfast had variety and tasted good! The pool is nice to relax and the hot tub is the perfect size!

Nice hotel, big and clean room, good stuff on reception. The breakfast was good, too. The one star off for the pool temperature. We were quite disappointed as we couldn't get into the water pretty much at all. The pool was cold. For a family friendly hotel, 2-3°C would make difference...

  • SAM Y.

Horrible experience, the front desk staff was rude and discriminating they put us in the room by the elevator and told us there were no other rooms available, we sent in our friends and they were offered 3 different rooms on top floor.

My wife and I recently stayed here. Getting in late we didn't get a good look around till morning, the floor in our room was dirty, one of the bath towels had hair on it.. They were good about it and gave us a discount. Hope other people have better luck! 3 stars for a 3 star hotel.

  • Josie Georgeson

Amazing service at this hotel. When our jet tub didn't work, they switched us rooms and gave us a discount. The free breakfast was delicious!! The front desk called up to our room to see if we needed paper plates when we had pizza delivered. They took good care of us!!!

  • Sandy Muyres

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. We were greeted by very friendly, professional staff. Our king room was large and freshly decorated. The bed was excellent. The breakfast was good. There was plenty of parking and a very good central location! We would stay there again.

  • Matt B

Great location - close to the BMO Center, the Calgary Stampede Grounds, and the Saddle Dome. Friendly front-desk staff. Nice pool area. Rooms are a bit dated... time for a renovation. Budget friendly - rooms are economical. A good hotel when travelling for business.

Two people were smoking crack immediately in front of the doors as I was checking in, so that was weird. The room was spacious and the water pressure was great.
