I recently had the opportunity to dine at Between 2 Buns Altona and decided to try their Cheesy Fries with Tomato dip. While I was excited to indulge in this classic comfort food, I must admit that I was taken aback by the pricing. The Cheesy Fries themselves were enjoyable – the cheese was perfectly melted, and the fries had a nice crispy texture. However, I was surprised to see that the fries alone were priced at $12.95. This struck me as quite steep for what essentially amounts to a serving of fries. My surprise turned into disbelief when I noticed that the Tomato dip, which was served in what seemed like a small portion, was an additional $2. Charging $2 for what felt like a minimal amount of sauce felt a bit excessive, and I couldn't help but feel like it was somewhat of a rip-off. In total, my order of Cheesy Fries with Tomato dip ended up costing me $15.14, which, in my opinion, is a rather high price point for what is essentially fries and a dipping sauce. While the taste was enjoyable, the value for money left much to be desired. I appreciate quality food, but I believe that a fairer pricing structure would enhance the overall dining experience at Between 2 Buns Altona.

I ordered dinner at between two Buns last Friday night and had a couple of issues with my order. I ordered, in person, at the store - around 7pm. I ordered a Jack's Double cheeseburger, a Classic and a large fries. When I took my food home, I realised my double cheeseburger was a single cheeseburger (no extra patty or pickles and onion in the burger. I double checked my payment and by price could confirm I ordered a double, not a single. My "Classic" burger was missing tomato, onion and bbq sauce. Just a patty, some cheese and Lettuce - I took some photos of this. It was disapointing, particularly after paying $40 (I ordered fries also) that these issues occured. I tried to contact the store, via instagram, to let you know as an FYI directly, instead of a public bad review, because I appreciate mistakes can happen. Unfortunately no one responded to my issue.

It makes me so sad to write this review but unfortunately it is needed. I used to love this place. Since a B2B opened in Altona a few years ago, it became the only place I'd go for burgers. But over the last few visits I've noticed a steep decline in the quality of the food. The cheese and bacon fries: the cheese was hard and dry and didn't even cover half the top of the chips. And the bacon is so undercooked, it's still white. The burgers are now good, when they used to be great! I thought it was just a specific location that had dropped the ball, so I visited another location. Same thing! It is so bitterly dissapointing because they used to be so amazing and worth the higher cost. But that is no longer the case

I went there for lunch and ordered a double burger which has chicken and beef. The chicken was literally off. I could smell it in the paddy and knew the dry taste. As far as the beef patty it had no real taste to it and was extremely average. The burger itself was around 20$ and my goodness it was small and not filling for what they charge you. Your best off going to piggy smalls or greek grill. There cheaper and then times better than this joint. P.s to the owner that responded to this just know anyone can click my profile and see I leave honest reviews that aren't all bad... You've got a poor attitude and clearly can't admit that you sell rank off tiny portioned food that's over priced and your most recent reviews says it all.
food was moderately good, but the chicken was a little too dry and the skin did not adhere well to the chicken. the spicy sauce was not spicy. However, the service was good and the staff were friendly and smiled, which is more than can be said for many these days. The atmosphere was not bad in spite of, or perhaps due to the small size of the store. the online ordering is convenient and smooth without bugs. on the whole a pleasant experience

AMAZING! Prior to being vegetarian the bird was the best burger I have ever had. My boyfriend and I loved it so much that we always tried to re-create it at home, to no avail... The bun, the sauce (I get extra), the crunchy slaw and the batter on the juicy chicken all goes together soooo well!! I'm just happy I can still have my favourite burger, even though I'm vegetarian! I now replace the chicken with the mushroom and it's just as good!! No complaints at all apart from the fact that like one burger is maybe $14, but that's fairly standard now. LOVE IT.
Absolutely horrible experience! The chicken burger is so small I’m still so hungry after my meal. The chicken was smaller than my small hand (I wear size xs gloves). And the prices have gone up. Either increase prices and keep the quality or keep the prices and reduce the serving size…not both. Super, super disappointed with the overpriced half chicken burger. Don’t waste your money here Response to Ken: ‘smaller breast portion’…I don’t remember paying a smaller fee for this.

A burger place that takes burgers seriously. I have been here twice and never I have been ever disappointed. The patties are very tasty and juicy; the brioche buns are well toasted; and the bacons are crispy and adds texture and enhanced flavor to the burger. The serving is just right to it's price. Milkshake is yummy, doesn't taste watery. The staffs were very friendly and knowledgeable. Very patient too in taking orders (as I get torn in which burger to buy). Will be coming back again and again and again for sure.
Best burgers by the beach! The buns are so nice! The fries serving is quite large, which is preferential to some, but they also have quite a lot of variety for fries! The only thing I'm a little "bunned" about is they don't have any milk options besides the normal full cream cow's milk for their milkshakes. Bit sad about that considering that most stores now offer multiple milk options such as soy, almond, etc for those of us who are lactose intolerant, vegan or allergic. Otherwise, the food is AMAZING.
First time to try out B2B and they did not disappoint. Their menu was simple but still had great variety, and most importantly - very tasty! Ordered The Meaty and The Classic burgers, Bacon & Cheese fries and Kit Kat shake. Also got to try their deep fried Oreo. The size of the burgers are smaller compared to other burger joints but it wasn't greasy and the meat patty was juicy. Service was quick, staff are friendly and we left feeling satisfied but not bloated.
Absolutely the best ever. I’ve been coming here since they first opened, and can personally say the lettuce wrap was my idea! So awesome to see it become an item on the menu. The owner was lovely and has a very simple but elegant vision for the chain, which is simply to provide simple but great quality ingredients for the classic burger with a proportioned amount of sauce to create a consistent taste every time. Couldn’t recommend enough.
Very friendly service. Good for meat eaters, but not as good for vegetarians. My partner enjoyed his meat burger and his chicken wings. I had the vege burger (there is only one dedicated vege burger), and it was OK but nothing special. You can choose to substitute to a vege based patty with any of the meat burgers which is good, but the price to do so ($4) is too high when you consider they no longer have to put meat on the burger.
Really friendly customer service, good selection of burgers and generous portion of chips. Really stingy with the meat in the classic beef burger, it was literally half the size of the bread (it stops halfway under the tomato in my pic) but the chicken burger was nice (be sure to add cheese)! Don't know if we would make the drive to come back as we live 15mins away but it's good for a local burger joint I'd give it 3.5 - 4.
Definitely one of the better burger shops in the western suburbs. Great location too! Pricing is pretty reasonable. Do yourself a favour and try their shakes - they're awesome! Had the Biscoff one and its flavour and consistency were on point I'll be back when I get that burger craving.

Holy! These amazing juicy burgers are not to be missed. Honestly can't say much negative about them at all. I had the Double burger, I thought it might be been too much for me the handle, but the relatively medium size of the burger meant I could easily brush it off without falling into a coma when coupled with a beautifully made chocolate shake. 10/10, would eat again. In fact I did, the very next day.
Heard good things about B2B in Altona, wasn’t disappointed. Bit pricey but delicious and awesome customer service. The Ferrero Rocher shake was enormous and really tasty. Onion rings might be the best I’ve ever had . We had the original cheeseburger- was good but nothing to write home about and the chicken slaw burger- good but not special. Will head back to try some more items!
Searched for best burgers in Altona and this place certainly delivered. Had "The Spicy" with chips and Salted Caramel shake and left very happy. The burger was almost perfect and had a great mix of spice from the ingredients and sweetness from the bun. Shake also hit the spot and will try some of the other flavours next time. Up there with any other burger I've tried in Melbourne.
Wow. I was SO impressed with my Classic burger and Cheese & Bacon fries. Absolutely delicious. We went on a sunny Sunday at lunchtime, and while there was a queue, our order was prepared surprisingly quickly. All of the staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant space is small, so we took our burgers away and enjoyed them at the Altona Beach front.
Took my money, handed back my change then proceeded to cook burger touching every bit of food with hands no gloves, no washing hands!. Need serious food handling training for this young lad Altona store tonight. Not his fault

Service was slow and obviously disorganised, some team work or management would go a long way. Onion rings were tough and chewy like gum, pretty obvious why as they were leaving cooked food in baskets over the deep fryer. Chicken burger and milk shake was great when it arrived.

Quick, friendly service and juicy, tasty patties make this burger joint a must try for anyone local to or visiting Altona. The shakes are also great and complement the meals. The chili cheese fries were good, though if you don't like cinnamon (it tasted like it had some but I may be wrong), you may be better off getting one of the other side options.
This place has massively gone down hill in the 4 years I’ve lived in Altona. Used to be great, quality and service has gone down hill drastically. If you order for collection add an hour onto your “collection” time. Would definitely recommend going elsewhere.

I loved B2B. Burger options were great. They also have offer a stack of other awesome goodies. Hot dogs, lit milkshakes, deep fried Oreos (!!!) and a stack of loaded fries. Burgers came out fast and they were delish. Tasty beef soft buns and really thick cut bacon. These are proper burgers. Id be a regular if I was a local. A1
Order for take away. The double burger is nice but the bird burger was not enjoyable (the chicken was way too massive). Also, the chips with cheese were sloppy and the cheese was terrible.

Well made and good value burgers, juicy enough without swamping the rest of the burger. Salted caramel shake was good, but a slightly expensive indulgence.

Fantastic burgers and chips! We ordered waffle fries, the Double Burger and The Mexicken. Everything was delicious and filling. Would recommend using their online website to pre-order as it's a 30min wait. Cost about $46 which can be a bit expensive for takeaway but it was worth it!
It’s good…sometimes. This place is the most inconsistent restaurant I’ve ever seen. One night everything will be great, the next there’ll be no sauce on the burger or the burger is about half the size it is on a good night. Quality control here is a must.
Why did I just pay $24 for two milkshakes that mostly tasted like plain milk than Oreos They use to be thick and delicious shakes :((

Quality of the food is great. Expect to spend a few dollars more than your local maccas. Staffs were friendly. Burgers were great, chips were okay. The meat in the dirty fries didn't go with the fries and were too soggy to our liking.
We always have a great experience here. The special sauce is the best and the chips is to die for! Always nice fresh and one of the best burger I’ve had so far in Melbourne. Definitely worth the trip and the money. Recommended!
Great burgers a little expensive but great. I had the classic chicken burger. Was really good especially seeing in not a big fan of Chechen burgers.

Best burgers around & delicious fries! Worth the wait during busy periods for sure. My go to is the Classic burger with Cheese & Bacon fries. Absolutely delicious, indulgent, lip-smacking & mouth-watering food!
Good small burger joint. Burgers here are quite tasty. Just missing more vegetarian options. Only one but still quite good! Staff is friendly! Recommend a takeout as there are not many places were you can sit!
I had the $3 small chips and can of drink deal and the staff were polite and quick. Chips were really nicely cooked and seasoned!

Burgers were great and the spicy aioli sauce went perfectly with fries. Bit noisy and limited space inside if you can't get a seat outside. Definitely would recommend.
Tried caramel shake and cheese fries. They were so tasty. A nice area for lunch near the beach especially when the weather is nice n sunny. Would certainly recommend.
Great burgers, easily the best in Altona. Would hold their own anywhere. And the milkshakes are some of the best in Melbourne. Get the Ferrero Rocher.
Great chips, good burger Update: Went to visit recently, was given small chips instead of large. Got replaced but they were soggy. Very disappointed.
Low quality hot dog sausage from ‘paper’… It’s not taste good at all!

Good quality burger and loaded bbq fries. Definitely worth a visit. it does get busy at dinner time with limited seats available inside.
Not a bad burger. Pictured here is the meaty burger. Bit overpriced compared to other places. Public holiday surcharge at this place.
There tad before lunch. Order was quick. Amazing burger Classico I ordered with side beer batter chips and soda.
Great burgers, hot dogs and fries as well as shakes and Sundays. Not overdone but just really good tasty food.
Love the food. But It's just so so expensive. You are looking at around $50 for two people.
Like the burgers, also fries with cheese and bacon yes! Would eat again. Thumbs upity!
