There is so much to tell I am not sure where to begin. I contacted Alex about getting my 2000 Klein Quantum in purple haze repainted. Over the years this exceptional bike had accumulated scratches and chips all over the frame. I decided that this bike rode too well to get rid of and deserved to look better than it did. Once I contacted Alex he encouraged me to bring it by to discuss the options. So on a day off I set out on the hour and forty-five minute drive to have him look. While there we discussed the options. I had originally wanted to keep the purple haze color, but because of the cost of the paint it was not an option I could afford. Alex was extremely patient and allowed me as much time as needed to select a color that I would like. He offered his opinions and ideas throughout the process. We eventually decided the bike would look awesome in a matte black with yellow Klein logos. He kept in contact with me the whole time and sent pictures of the bike as it went through the paint booth. Now while Alex was working hard on making my bike awesome I was unfortunately having some repair bills popping up depleting the money I had saved up for this. I let Alex know and he told me he understood and would hold on to it until I got the money. This took me over a month to recoup the money needed. Today I finally got to go pick it up and wow the bike looks amazing now. He did such a great job with the whole thing. Not only did he repaint it, but he replaced all the cables, re-gripped the handlebars, and re-did all the bearings and re-greased everything. The biggest surprise though is when he was painting the bike he noticed my carbon fork was cracked in two places. (Needless to say I was lucky it never gave out on me) When he noticed this he replaced the fork and did not raise the price on me. That was an amazing surprise and just awesome customer service. Alex did such a great job that I would consider making him my bike shop for all my needs even though he is almost 2 hours from my house. If you have not checked him out yet you definitely should. If you have a bike that you love but needs a little TLC take it to him! He will make it look brand new. Seriously can't say enough. An absolute amazing job by and awesome guy.

When I was looking for a bike one of my friends told me about a bike shop on Phillips Highway. So I walked into the Bicycle Clinic and I was amazed of the quality of bikes and the restored bikes that were there in the shop too. This was not the bike shop that my friend told me about but I`m so happy that I went into this one. When Alex noticed me he asked me to get a coffee or a cold drink. He asked me where I ride and what I ride, I felt very relaxed and comfortable. Alex made sure he gave me 100% attention and was very professional as he described what he does here at the shop. His prices were very reasonable for the bikes and repairs. So I ended up buying a Hybrid Villano. I love the bike, I`ve had it for over a year now and Alex maintains it for me and does an excellent job on tune ups, and other repairs. So I started doing some more road biking and Alex hooked me up with a road bike to start out with (cheap) great deal. I really started to like the rode riding so I moved up to another bike that Alex set me up with. So I really, really, really started liking the road riding so Alex and I got together and we came up with the 2014 Schwinn rode bike. If you look at the Bicycle Clinic web page and you see the Blue and Orange (Gator Colors) rode bike, that bike is in my garage, all mine. I highly recommend Alex, (The Bicycle Clinic) to anyone that is looking to buy, restore or need repairs done to any bike. Thank you Alex for helping me and being such a professional in all aspects. Everyone's experience is different, but mine was not particularly good. On two different occasions over the last year I brought bikes here for tune-ups and replacement parts. On the positive side, the repairs were relatively inexpensive, the proprietor seemed knowledgeable, and turnaround time was pretty quick. However, I can't shake the impression that the quality of workmanship was somewhat lacking, particularly the second time I came here. At least once I had to bring a bike back for minor adjustments after the initial repair. One bike had post-repair issues with the gears not indexing properly, a brake pad lightly scraping the back tire, and -- as I discovered several weeks later -- deflating tires that were supposedly new. As these bikes have since been used exclusively indoors on a trainer, it's unlikely that these problems resulted from normal use. Due to these concerns I have since brought my business elsewhere. EDIT, in response to feedback from the owner: I cited both your prices and your repair time as positives in my review, so no, I did not "forget" anything. I paid roughly $110 on the first bike and about $260 on the second.

I purchased a bike at the Bicycle Clinic from Alex, the owner. He told me up front that he covers everything he sells. If I ever got a flat tire or experienced any issues, he would take care of it, and I would just pay for the parts. Alex has run his bike shop since 1989 and is super-experienced and knowledgeable about bicycles, bike restorations and bike repairs. I once decided to get a new chain put on my bike, and before I could even blink… he was finished. He did the same thing when I had a flat tire and needed new tubes. He repaired the bike in about 5 minutes. Alex also restores bikes. I have been in his shop to witness a customer dropping off an old, dilapidated bike in disrepair, turned-in for restoration, and then next time I revisited the shop a few days later, and Alex had restored that person’s bike to mint condition! Alex is not only experienced with everything “bicycles,” he is also an artist. Alex is a man of his word and services what he sells. He is a real, down-to-earth, people person. I cannot recommend the Bicycle Clinic highly enough for all of your bicycle needs! I should know, since I bicycle 10-20 miles a day!

I purchased a bike here as a gift for my daughter, along with a lovely basket and a safety light. She already had a bike stolen so I asked in advance for the best lock available and was assured that the one on order would work well. There are never guarantees of course, that a bike won't be stolen but the lock that was eventually delivered to her wasn't able to keep her now second bike from being stolen on her first day back to work after a long illness. It was heartbreaking. I emailed The Bicycle Clinic on two different occasions asking for the serial number of the bike and never received it. The serial number is required to process a police report and to notify the credit card company. Additionally, the paperwork/receipts provided were not itemized and although not expressly stated I believe that I was sold a used bike. I'm extremely disappointed as both the guys were super friendly and helpful when I bought the bike.

I decided to take the drop bar handlebars off my 1976 Raleigh Grand Prix and replace them with alloy cruiser type handlebars. The change necessitated new brake levers. Alex not only put on new brake levers, but also new brake cables and shiny white new tubing. He did the same (new cables and tubing) with the new friction shifters he installed. A few days later I was adjusting the new hairpin leather seat I'd bought and broke the seat clamp bolt. Alex said, "Just bring it by." He put on a new bolt, put the seat on the bike, adjusted the seat post bolt and the seat clamp bolt -- all at no charge. I tried to pay him and he said, "You're my customer now and it just a service I provide." His prices are very reasonable, he's a great, great guy, his staff is nice and they do great work. Plus Alex is just a lot of fun. I guess you could say he's so "off the chain" he'll make your head spin. And your two tires as well.

Alex was very helpful & knows his stuff. The shop was very nice & loads of bikes to choose from. I can tell you this this is the only bike shop I will ever shop at. Before I brought my bike in, the left pedal was clicking, the rear tube was busted, and the gears were not changing with ease. Now, it rides completely different. Smooth, noise free, and for some reason my tires hold air better now in the sense that I don't have to fill them up every other time I go out for a ride. Also, he added a spacer under my stem because I requested I wanted to keep my stem but sit at more of an upright angle. We had an amazing experience and would recommend BICYCLE CLINIC to anybody and everybody looking for a new bike. Alex is not only a great businessman, he is EXTREMELY knowledgeable about the bikes he carries.

We bought our bikes used and they were both rideable but definitely needed some work. Eventually, riding was no longer enjoyable due to all of the repairs needed (gears sticking, brakes squeaking, etc.) so they sat for months without being ridden. We found Alex and his shop and are so pleased with the whole experience. He explained what would need to be done to the bikes and the expected price and made picking up and dropping off our bikes extremely convenient for us. There were a few things that came up while he was doing the tune ups and he contacted me with what should be done to fix it and the price instead of just doing it and surprising me when the bill came. Now our bikes ride like they're brand new! So glad we found Alex and will only use him for any future tune ups and repairs.

Rip-off! I went here a few times to discuss tune ups and changes to my bike. On my last visit, I brought in my gf's bike that was broken. They told me I had to order a brand new piece from the brand because no generic parts would work. The brand name part costs about x4 more than a generic. Told me that was the ONLY option. And then it would be another $100 to $120 for labor. We are talking now about $250-ish in costs. I told them I would think about it and went to a different bike shop (about 7 minutes north) where they told me that they could do a generic Shimano part for $40 and $35 for labor. I was so relieved and at the same time very mad at bicycle clinic for their deceptive information and overcharged labor. Never taking any of my bikes there again.

I purchased a new bike for my 3yr olds birthday from amazon. Out of the box the back tire locked up when he tried to ride it. Like a typical dad I took it apart and tried to solve the issue. After a few days I gave up and found Bicycle Clinic on Old St Augustine Rd. Alex, the owner, was able to quickly diagnose the issue being in the back sprocket and chain. He repaired the issues in less than an hour and has extremely reasonable rates. I would've paid $1000 to get my kid's bike working so he could enjoy it if needed, but Alex took care of us. If you're shopping for a new bike for kids or adults, They also have a nice spread of bikes in the store. And a really unique bike/shopping cart that I've never seen before. 5 stars all around!!

My husband was in the market for a bike. He happened upon The Bicycle Clinic one day and went to test ride a bike. I went along to check out the bikes as well even though I wasn't in need of a bike. I ended up test riding a bike as well and fell in love with it. So needless to say we both ended up with two great bikes at a great price. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in assisting us with choosing accessories, etc. I've had many bikes over the years and can honestly say this is my favorite bike yet. My husband feels the same. If and when we need new bikes or tuneups, etc we will not hesitate to go back to The Bicycle Clinic. A top notch business with the best prices and very friendly staff. I visited the Bicycle Clinic today and once I entered the store I was greeted by Alex the owner. He had a quirky sense of humor but he was very approachable and easy to get along with. He assisted me in my search for a Hybrid mountain bike, showing me a couple of bikes and within minutes I knew that I wanted to buy a bike here. He allowed me to take any bike for a test ride and to take my time. He was honest and very helpful, I ended up buying a bike from him and he was kind enough to deliver it on the same day. I am a consumer who appreciates GREAT customer service so that is why I highly recommend the Bicycle Clinic. We were in the market for a new bicycle so we visited this shop among others. We immediately came back here after our due diligence visits to other shops. The owner, Alex, is very knowledgeable and absolutely wants you to walk away with a bike that meets your needs. He will work with you to customize it not only because he is a terrific small business owner but because he has a passion for biking. We ended up with a great deal and a bike that is customized our physical needs. We have also taken our other bike there for a tune up. His turn around on both bikes was within 24 hours so it’s a great deal. We would highly recommend this terrific shop no matter what your level of biking may be.

I have been looking for a decent hybrid for a while but kept coming up short. I tried all the big department and sports stores but they were geared more towards mountain bikes. So while searching for a bike store the Bicycle Clinic showed up in my GPS. It was Sunday and I did not expect them to be open but to my surprise they were. I was greeted by Alex and he was very helpful and very proud of his restoration projects, which he should be, they were awesome. Needless to say, Alex had me in the perfect hybrid that took a lot of pressure off my back and was very comfortable. He was very patient and easy to talk to, we will be returning and happy to support our local businesses

I'm in the process of restoring a rare vintage road bike frame set. I brought the frame in not expecting the owner to be able to restore the head badge or the frame builder's signature on the down tube. He was able to do both on top of a top notch chrome and paint restoration. I'm reassembling the bike myself. Alex said to contact him if I had any questions or issues and that he would be willing to help. He is always quick to respond. If you have any bicycle needs from simple repairs to complex rare vintage restorations I highly recommend this business. Today we had a wonderful experience with Alex! We went into the bicycle clinic early in the morning and as soon as we walked in we could tell it was a friendly atmosphere. We were looking for a tandem bicycle and Alex pointed us directly toward the section while engaging with us friendly conversation. It was an impeccable store and everything was organized greatly, as well as the prices being very reasonable. For the tandem bicycle we purchased, Alex gave us a wonderful deal on it. The guys at this shop go above and beyond. We came in because our bike had been rendered useless after some movers dismantled it. Well after William looked at it for a minute he determined that it would take a day or two to figure out and fix. He also offered to tune it up and clean it as well, and for only $60. this was a much better price than what we were quoted from a competitor down the street. Long story short, 3 days later the initial problem was fixed, the bike was clean. He had noticed the brake lines were bad as well and replaced them too. Stellar experience from friendly and knowledgeable staff. Your money will be well spent here.

I was so impressed by the Bicycle Clinic. Wasn't sure if I wanted to spend the money to fix up my 35 year old Fuji or just buy a new bike. Well, after talking to Alex he talked me out of buying a new bike because the Fuji was a great bike. He put new tires,tubes, aluminum wheels, checked out the gears and made adjustments and put new handlebar covers and a drink holder. And he charged just under $300. And if I purchased a new bike it would have been much more! He also offers great service, because he picked up my bike at my house and returned it the next day!! And I feel like I am riding a new bike! Thank you Alex!

I’m ecstatic to have found a bike shop that respects customer’s time and safety after having previously gone to a different bike shop twice for the same problem with my son’s bike. Now I finally have it fixed correctly and my son can happily ride to school. I can confidently let him ride the bike knowing it’s been taken care of properly. First Class Experience! The perception of bicycle shops is that they are cost prohibitive if you're just a casual rider (at least for me). I was able to get the exact type of bike for me at a very reasonable price. The thing that impressed me the most is their ability to completely customize the bike to meet the rider's specific needs. I love my new bicycle! Brought my wife's bike in for a tune-up (not a bike we purchased from this retailer) and feel so much more confident that she will be safer, because of it. Alex (owner) is extremely friendly and accommodating. Will be a loyal customer for years to come.

Wow..what a great experience! First of all seeing all the restored bicycles was really a blast from the past! And the custom bikes are really cool. After looking around I realized choosing just one bike would be difficult, so many beauties to choose from! Alex helped me decide which bike would suit me best and I left with a great bike {a Schwinn Hybrid with 3 speed internal hub gears} and the assurance that he will stand behind it with a lifetime warranty and service. The business owner Alex is easy to speak with and very kind. I drove to his business today and he was out delivering bikes when I had arrived during his normal business hours; However, he ended up delivering my bike within the next couple of hours to my home. Very quick turnaround! He accommodated me to make sure I was a satisfied customer and that is the type of service that is hard to come by these days. I took my 1980’s Peugeot road bike to this shop because I could not fix the shifters myself. I have worked on bikes for years, but this type of work needed to be done by a skilled and experienced person. Overall, I had a great experience. Alex was very professional and knew exactly what to do to the bike. The turnaround time was amazing (I got it back the next day). It was not cheap, but I knew I had to pay for quality work. While I was there other customers seemed very pleased with the service and attention from the staff. I strongly recommend this place.

Took my 1 year old in to get some help fitting a helmet to her smaller-than-average sized head, and the owner made sure we walked out with exactly what we needed! Bought my pretty blue Schwinn from Alex at the Bicycle Clinic. He was very nice and gave me a great deal. Ended up taking my daughters in for a tune up later. was very impressed, Cameron did a great job on it. Got it to stop squeaking, which was amazing and my daughter loves the new seat we had put on. When I went to pick it up he showed me some of the restorations that had just been finished. OMG they are awesome. New ones are great but I love that retro look. If you have an old bike you want to look new again this is the place to go.

If your looking for anything bike related you’ve gotta check this place out. I was looking for something special and unique and Alex made it happen. A tric flower cart! From the begging in he was excited and listened to all of my ideas. The final product is amazing. I’ve gotten so many compliments and it really adds a lot to my business. I am so glad he was a part of the process and made my vision come to life. I wil only shop here for anything for my Tric or anything bike related going forward. He is the BEST in town !!

Alex at the bicycle clinic is amazing! He went out of his way to help me and took the rim off one of his bikes to replace mine. I knew it was unlikely to have work done on the same day but Alex did it happily and very quickly so I could return to the road the same day. And, he did it at a very reasonable price. We brought in 2 brand new Beach Cruisers to be assembled at this store as they were supposedly the experts in our type of beach cruisers. I would have to say couldn't be farther from the truth. Everything went wrong when we attempted to ride Our bikes. Our handle bars on both bikes were so loose couldn't even turn the bike at all. The brakes locked up. The first ride was a disaster. The gears did not shift. Horrible experience. Avoid this shop at all costs. Very poor service

The owner of this shop is a crook. He was supposed to put new bearings in my front wheel axle. Now the wheel is inoperable. He wasn’t even at the shop during normal bus. hours. Had to call him and he said he was at lunch and would he back in 5mins. After I left he closed up the shop before the posted closing time. Very unprofessional! He said it would cost $30 to replace bearings, but instead it was $40 and he ruined my axle. Wouldn’t recommend and please buyer beware.

I have had a spate of flat tires recently, and have relied on the Bicycle Clinic to help. William has been unceasingly helpful, each time giving me good advice for how to minimize the risk of flat tires. Today he he greeted me cheerfully and graciously took time to change the tube on my tire on the spot. Since I'm leaving town tomorrow and want to take my bike with me, I am very grateful. Thank you, William--you guys at the Bicycle Clinic are the best!

William is an absolute ANGEL. He was knowledgeable. Took his time with us. Made us feel like customers and really helped us in major decisions on three of our bikes. We sent one in for rehab and it came out better than expected. We ended up scraping the two other bikes and purchasing a new one. So far the bikes ride like a dream and we are super thankful to have found this place. William made us feel more like family than just everyday customers.

I purchased an older schwinn bike that had been abused by the previous owner. It wouldn't shift well, had old tires, the cables were rusty, etc. I took my bike to Alex and not only was he a very personable person, but he took care of it all at an affordable price. Now my bike is like new! A very understanding bike shop that will work with you and make sure you are happy. I'm glad that I took my bike as well as my girlfriends bike here. Thanks!

I didn't have access to Internet for a while as I was away... In the beginning of the year I took my sons bike trailer in to see if I could have more durable thicker tires put on for long distance rides. The owner was extremely kind and willing to help and answer any question I had. He fixed my bikes tire within 10 min and I picked up the trailer next afternoon. Best service and best bike shop in the area by far. Will be visiting again soon.

Shop also has some sweet vintage bikes that Alex restored. Best bike shop in town.

I went in to the Bicycle Clinic for the very first time this past weekend. I was simply amazed at the quality and craftsmanship that Alex puts in to each bike. His employee Cameron is most helpful, and the shop is much bigger than it appears from outside. I don't believe any other bicycle shop in Jacksonville can compare! It's worth the drive if you don't live nearby. But, even if you don't, Alex will deliver! Love it!

I had to get a wheel trued for a new bike that I assembled. In calling around town, I got pretty inconclusive responses with regards to when they could take me in and get it done. Alex was professional on the phone, welcomed me as a customer to his store and showed me how the job was done. Great experience and will revisit as we look to get maintenance done and into making modifications to our Mountain Bikes.

I bought a Groupon for a tune-up, and used it for my vintage 80s road bike. Alex and his team appreciate the older vintage bikes and did a wonderful job and have a great customer service attitude. My bike needed a new rear sprocket and chain; I'm very happy with difference the tune-up and new sprocket and chain have made for my bike. I will be doing business with The Bicycle Clinic again!

Cameron ROCKS!! He was very helpful and knowledgeable. He tuned up my brand new Schwinn Hybrid, added a new seat, and headlight for safety. This was done at a GREAT PRICE!! He even recommended a few new bike trails for me to ride my new wheels. This young man knows the true definition of customer service and I will MOST DEFINITELY purchase my next bike from the Bicycle Clinic.

This shop is what Jacksonville needs. Truly the best experience ever purchasing a quality bike. I have a custom 3G stretched 27 that rides like no other. So so many other bikes available also great bike service at a price that cannot be beat anywhere! I highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a bike or bike service. The Bicycle Clinic is a great experience for the customer. If you want bike repairs or restoration or painting, Alex is your man. He did an incredible job on a paint job for a Trek bike of mine, and rebuilt the bike after painting and it runs better than new. Very personable, reasonable pricing and great customer service. I can't recommend his work highly enough!

Needed an older bike brought back to life for my son in college and they did a fantastic job! Alex was professional, prompt and transparent about everything including pricing (which was incredibly reasonable). Alex also recommended 2 additional products that I needed, again very reasonably priced. It was a great experience overall and I highly recommend!

Excellent work on my road bike. Bought a groupon but my bike needed some extra love and care cause it has not been used in couple years which was expected. He did excellent work and great communication throughout the whole process. I have logged 22.4 miles since the work and no issues. Will definitely be back for tune ups and other stuff when needed.

Bought a bike from Amazon that I had to assemble. I couldn’t get the brakes and gears to tune correctly, so I brought it to this shop. The owner had my bike ready in less than 1 hour and it was riding perfectly. Had a great conversation and learned a lot there. Price was far lower than I expected! I’ll be returning soon with my wife’s bike.

Incredibly fair! Provided maintenance on 2 triathlon bikes and did an outstanding job. Took in a child’s bike a week later for a chain repair.
