So my Indicator stalk broke. Apparently this is a very common thing. I took it to the garage that I bought my car from Big M Motor Spares. He said he could sort it the same day and to their credit they did. I asked him how much it would cost...he said he didn't know... I foolishly let them fix it thinking it would probably come to £100 max. A few hours after dropping it off out of curiosity I looked online for an indicator stalk unit which for a Pergeot 206 which is about £35 for the whole unit. That reinforced my initial assumption that the quotation I had assumed in my head would be reflected. Alas it was not. £309.90 which I am paying under protest. There is absolutely no way that it should cost this much money. No checking with me before going ahead after I had asked the bloke how much it would be..... yeah sure he didn't. He made it whatever he wanted it to be. Liberties. I will be checking if they are a member of a trade association and speaking with them.

I wish we could give zero star. We use them for the first time for a full service last month which I don’t think was ever done but they took our money and gave us our car back with our brakes not working when it was in perfect condition when we handed in for the service. We cannot believe how they could hand us back our car with faulty breaks and let us drive away with it knowing full well how dangerous it was. When my husband questioned the manager he wouldn’t accept anything and he said it would cost this much to put it right. We took it to another garage and they repair it for us and it wasn’t not anything what the manager at Big M said. Please DO NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THESE PEOPLE AS ONCE YOU TAKE YOUR CAR GUARANTEE SOMETHING MAJOR WILL GO WRONG.

Brought a flat panda and two days later engine cut out and warning light come on I rang up and was told Mabey my car needs petrol.and to ring them.back.the next day basically just got robbed off by a guy on the phone who could not even speak English a month later nothing but problems car goes into neutral when driving and comes slowly to.a halt and warning light comes back on now my warranty has ended rang the rac was told car had no.oil in it and sensor probably needs repairing more money to.pay out this car was originally advertised on aa approved cars , what a con and poor safety I will be contacting the aa approved website to get into.on why this unsafe car was sold this garage is a bunch of con artists advoid at all costs

Appalled at the "customer service" received over the last 2 days, they were less than interested when dropping car in to check what part was needed, rang me half hour after I got home to tell me parts would take at least a week to arrive, other places I looked at said parts could be obtained overnight. They priced the job at least 50% above other quotes, arrived next day to collect car by taxi, as we were getting out & taxi about to leave one of their staff shouted at us in bad English you cant park there you can't park there & could not seem to get her head around that it was a taxi dropping us off & wouldn't be staying. Have not experienced this poor level of customer service since British Rail in the 1970s

ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED..... WAS THERE WITH MY CAR FOR WHEEL ALIGNMENT AND TRACKING AS THE CAR WAS PULLING TO THE LEFT, STAFF SAID 1-2 HOURS AND THE PRICE £50.... TOOK THE CAR AFTER 3 HOURS WITH SAME PROBLEM. ASK THEM WHY THEY TOOK THE MONEY AND DIDN'T DO NOTHING AND THEY TOOK THE CAR BACK FOR ANOTHER 4 HOURS. AT THE FINAL THEY SAID I HAVE TO CHANGE THE BALL JOINTS, DRIVESHAFTS AND SOMETHING ELSE WHICH WILL COST ANOTHER £380....BECAUSE I WILL NO PASS MOT WITH THAT PROBLEMS... SO, HOW IS POSSIBLE TO DO TRACKING AND ALIGNMENT FOR £50 IF THE CAR NEED SOME PARTS TO BE REPLACED AND ONLY AFTER THAT WILL BE POSSIBLE TO DO TRACKING AND ALIGNMENT WASTE ONE DAY AND £50.... FOR NOTHING.....

Nicholas who runs this place (I think) is a legend! His customer service is second to none and he has such a lovely way with all his customers. He goes above and beyond his duty and this has been evident both times I've been in reception watching him deal with his other customers. A truly great guy and excellent mechanic! You get a free car wash with a full service and their rates are extremely competitive. I live in Cambridge but I'm always going to make sure I take my car back to him when I'm down this way, I'm really impressed. Thank you Big M Auto!! You guys are the best!

If I could leave 0 stars I really would. I dropped my car there first thing in the morning after calling prior to ensure they could provide the service I needed, they assured me they could. The staff were the rude when I arrived and didn’t seem to know what they doing, they told me I could collect later that day. 5pm rolled around and they had “forgot” my car was even there, I was assured they would get straight to it. After more than 24hours and multiple times chasing they finally told us that they couldn’t do what we needed and had completely wasted all of our time.

Been using these guys for about 8 years. Thought they were reasonably priced and honest. How wrong I was. I've spent a few grand here on 3 or 4 cars over the years. The last 12 months they've missed diagnosed problems. I've had to go back on numerous occasions to finally get the job done properly. They tried to charge me for parts that I actually supplied myself. Saw them today for what they were. LIARS AND RIP OFF MERCHANTS. Will never ever go there again. Just a shame it's taken me so long and cost me so much money to realise. Never ever again.

Complete bunch of scam artists, especially the old man in reception. As the other reviews state, they will make your car worse off and then tell you to use them to fix it, buy the parts etc. Otherwise, they will threaten you by saying you will be driving "illegally" in his words, which puts pressure on you to sort it out there and then. It's places like this that really put me off taking my car to garages in the first place. Took advantage of me being a female and thinks I don't know about cars, place should be shut down!!

Tried to charge for dipped beam lights that they claim to be out of alignment because of how bad the roads are and speed humps without notifying me during and mot and service , I explained they can’t do that and it had a full service yr before was absolutely fine …, still now I’m seeing engine cover just sitting on it and air intake not clipped in Nasty nasty garage great before don't know what’s happened I bought the car from Chris he was lovely year before all good then but that is sad

I would just like to say that I've been using these guys for years. I like cars and have had at least 20 different ones over the past 5 or 6 years and they have looked after each one. Not once did I feel ripped off, in fact a couple if times when I've taken a car in thinking there was something wrong they have inspected it and found nothing so haven't even charged me. The customer service is always great and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who asks.

Used them a few months ago. Service is ok, but I'm not comfortable with the attitude. The garage is run by a father and son , father is very nice and friendly, but not the son. When I made payment with bank card, I covered it with one hand so my pin is not visible by other people. The son saw it and said ' I never see anyone cover their pin when pay by card!' am I abnormal or is he abnormal? It's not his business to criticize his customer!

I booked my car at the Welling branch at for a major service recently. Prices were competitive, and the car was ready to collect at the agreed time, and I wasn't charged for any extras which I didn't need. The staff were professional and polite. I'd certainly use them again should I need anything else done, or when it's time for another service.

Never have a problem here. Always helpful and I can always go or call them for advice. I can drop my car off at a time that is good food me even if the work is not being done until the following day. Staff are always polite, they know what they are doing they will quote you before they do anything. Really great service station / Garage

Don’t waste your time an money. I booked a £300 full service, mot and conditioning air recharge. I was 10 minutes late to the appointment that would have taken several hours to perform and the guy at the reception was extremely rude and said they couldn’t do anything any longer. What a joke.

We've been using Big M's for over 10 years and had several makes of car repaired, serviced and MOT'd there. Always received great service, reasonable prices and never been ripped off. It's nice that there are still some honest mechanics about, unlike some of the bigger chain garages.

Staff have absolutely no customer skills at all , They act like they are doing you a favour ,rather then you paying them your hard earned cash , Also they are very over priced ,never just except a quote from these guys, And only use them at all ,if you really have no other choice

Seems to have significant Experience but are Expensive, worth checking others before confirming for any job. Could not fix minor electrical problem and asked me to come in a week time to check then ordered parts without asking me. Overall the experience could be much better.

I've been having my cars MOT done here for about 4yrs. Reasonably priced. My cars warning lights came on during a snow storm, I rang them for advice and they stayed on the phone to my daughter, who was with me, till we got home safe. Above and beyond service.

Never went back since I seriously got ripped off a few years ago. Same day as Service and mot the brakes failed while driving and upon inspection disks and pads worn through completely, very negative response and refused to discuss the matter with me

After full car diagnostic i got just engine check light off for next 15mins of travel. They just wanted me to come back and pay again... As far as I know after full car diagnostic they can easily see what is the problem...I will never come back there

Great guys! Went there for two tires to be changed, guys called me in the middle of service saying I only needed one tyre changed, saving me some money. Also did it in a hurry, since I have a baby and need the car to get around. Great job!!!

Just collected my car after a full service here first time using these guys talked me through what they did to my vehicle really freindly bunch of genuine lads and is now the place I will use for anything I need doing. Cheers guys

Car started having problems since service and brakes were changed at the garage. They said it wouldn’t be related but found it strange that the gearbox got problems just after I used them.
