I have been using Big Yellow Self storage for last 8 years and ive seen its ups and downs. Since previous manageress has left, things have improved greatly… Gemma Appleton, new manageress and her new staff are extremely helpful and treat everyone with respect and warm friendly attitude. Most people think think that its clever to choose the cheapest storage company, but I can tell you that how are you treated and how rarely you get annoyed being in there is as important. At one moment I even tried another company nearby - "Safestore" and the staff and customer treatment is far far worse than at "Big Yellow"… So, in short, I wish more companies would pay attention on how customers get treated in their outlets and their level of providing high customer satisfaction…

This is my 2nd booking at Big Yellow. I had used another storage company nearby but their staff delivered poor customer understanding and help. BY Orpington's manager & staff deliver exceptional customer service - nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They are all polite, friendly and always professional. It is a real pleasure to be their customer! They are the reason I have returned. As a former HR Consultant, I can only hope that these staff receive appropriate compensation & career development to match the extra business they bring to BY simply by their dedication to understanding individual customer needs & over-delivering every time. I recently needed to rent some self storage and went to Big Yellow (Orpington). I was dealt with by a young man called Bhrin Manoharan. He not only personally showed me around the storage facility, but also clearly explained everything I needed to know about using the company's facilities. When I later had to email or phone for information Bhrin was able to help immediately. Bhrin was very helpful, knowledgeable and professional throughout my dealings with Big Yellow and I was extremely impressed with his service. Thanks to Josep for helping through the process and showing us the storage unit . It was all organised from booking storage right through to handing storage unit back. Josep & David Communication was good throughout the process . Easy secure access with coded entry and good CCTV coverage. Units are modern, clean and dry with most providing good vehicle access. They have a wide range of sizes of storage init available and prices reasonable. Good introductory offer . Would use again in future if we need to store - Big Yellow storage, Orpington.

Bardzo tam brudno, windy są w bardzo złym stanie, nikt nigdy nie dba o porządek, mało miejsca na parkingu. Both lifts generate very scary noises, buzzing, metal grinding noises, squeaking. Very often floor surface is not at the same level as lift floor (most of the time 1 - 2 inches difference) causing thoughts "Am I going to die in this lift?" And it is not funny when you enter into the lift with a trolley and lift start moving before even door gets shut. This issue should be examined by some building surveyors to prevent any catastrophe!

Very good experience. Great customer service in store (George for check in and Dave for check out) and on the phone (Maxine) when I needed extended hours access. Good value for money. Good communication and prompt refund when I left early. My only gripe is that the opening and closing times are too short as someone who doesn’t work in the area no way to access unit before 5:30 close or 8:30 opening. Paid £5 each time but can get “deal”for 4 times I believe for £10.

Very pleased with the service in their Orpington branch. Very high standards of customer service whether on the phone or in person. A shout out to George, he is super helpful, very efficient and ensures customers are put first. Very smooth check in and check out. Straight forward and clear messaging from the staff and online. Plenty of flexibility in terms of storage space and tenure and good value for money.

Had a great experience here. Moved in with ease - with Christina helping out by showing us the storage first to make sure was correct for what I needed and wasn’t to small or large. Paper work was mostly done online before i arrived so only had to sign a couple of papers and was then able to move in Would definitely recommend using big yellow Orpington - friendly staff and great price!

Rediculous amount of deception on these guys behalf. Told my partner over the phone that I'd only need to pay a relatively cheap amount... on move in they had added another £60 for certain fees... and they didnt let me use my own lock even though it is better quality than theirs. We moved out and went to another nearby company after the appalling way they treat us.

The store Manager Dave was excellent, super smooth process to setup the storage unit and great rates for the 8 weeks I needed to use it. The site is secure with good car parking and the office has been setup with COVID safe screens and plenty of wipes and gel around to sanitize hands and the trolleys. I would not hesitate to use this site again in the future.

Among many self storage companies in South East London, this is the one I recommend personally...staff are super friendly and helpful, cleanliness at expected high standards and storage rooms are very tall so it makes good value for money....you can also get 5am to 11pm continuous access which is so useful if you always busy and work many hours ....

With the lockdowns we've been doing some home renovations. I've been going backwards and forwards on whether or not to get a storage unit while we decorate. Everytime I phone with a new question or query about the different units & access etc, Christina is ALWAYS happy to help. Extremely informative, polite and helpful. Highly recommend

Super friendly people, sustainable packaging and love that they have all the box sizes made up in reception to see how big everything is. Honestly they are excellent, they didn't harass us to book and they are very chill and flexible about moving dates. Dave and Bryn are exceptionally lovely and was made to feel so welcome and valued !

A storage warehouse is a storage warehouse, nothing especially amazing about it! However, it's the customer service that always makes a difference, and in this case David does a fantastic job there. Friendly and helpful. I haven't met anyone else there but I'm sure they are equally good at what they do. Thank you BYS at Orpington.

After 15 years continuous use we have finally cleared and reliquished our storage space. The formalities were completed efficiently and in a very helpful and friendly manner by a personable young man named Bhrin. We would highly recommend Big Yellow Storage in general and the Orpington location in particular.

Adequate self storage provider. Sign-in reception was straightforward and customer service was friendly and very polite. System was understandable, trolleys were fit for purpose. One improvement for the Orpington store is only 1 lift is in operation which sometimes creates tension when there's small rush.

5 Stars, David we have used you so many times and you continue to amaze us how brilliant your store is. We find the cleanliness and security the best and value you for money. We wouldn't choose anyone else thank you for looking after our goods. You are amazing. We would give you 10 stars if we could.

The staff was very accommodating. They know their stuff and are very helpful. Thanks to Bhrin and George. The facility itself is really great. The safety features are excellent and the storage size to price ratio is very good. Would recommend them if you're looking for storage space.

George & Dave, in Orpington were great, made the whole experience completely stress free and they were extremely helpful and friendly throughout.. even gave me a glass of water as I was parched from the move. And their security team was also very helpful and friendly.

Big storage facility with good range of room sizes and spotless. I had most dealings with George whom I found extremely friendly, cheerful, very helpful and great with his advice. Downsizing room was handled very swiftly by him and everything went very smoothly.

Son used them when he moved, I came with him one week as I was emptying a shed and needed space. I was told I couldnt take a unit out because it would look like I was taking advantage of their discount. I ended up moving in at another company up the road.

ORPINGTON BRANCH - Was met by a very pleasant Christina who was very professional and clearly knew her stuff. She was training Joe who was also very courteous and friendly. Will pop in and say hello when I next pop in. Both a credit to the store.

First I booked online but to complete the process I pop in to the local site where i received a first class customer-service. What’s I saw was a state-of-art facility highly secured, beyond my expectations.Honestly I couldn’t ask for more.

Brin explained everything very well and was extremely patient with all my questions. He walked me through the entire process and was genuinely happy to help. I felt a lot more confident about the process after speaking with him.

Good service, well maintained. Unfortunately the costs areuxh higher than advertised as insurance is only calculated once you put things in storage. Suddenly they price skyrockets.
