Billy Bishop is the best airport for Business travellers!! The staff is awesome and the airport is super clean! If you are heading out and didnt get a chance to get your COVID-19 test prior to your day of traveling, dont worry, there is Switch Health onsite. You can give your test and walk towards your flight, by the time you will get to the gate they will email it to you ad you are all set to board your flight Couple of things to note - - Switch Health booth is on the left hand side to the elevators (dont miss it like I did ) - Try booking your appointment a day prior if not they will help you right there as well - Even if you have booked your appointment earlier you still need to create an ASMO Profile - Price of 1 test is $65- 67 ( this is 20 CAD more than the cost of test at Shoppers Drug Mart) Hope this helps! Safe travels!
During my brief two years as an industry analyst I had to travel to Toronto repeatedly and on my first trip no one advised me about the pain in the a$$ nature of getting to downtown from the international airport. If you fly to Toronto for business in the financial services sector from most major cities on the US east coast or midwest catch one of the flights on Porter Airlines to this airport, then walk or take the ridiculously short but ferry across. In the warm months of the year it is beautiful and faster than the international airport by far, especially if you are staying and working downtown or near the Toronto waterfront.
I was very impressed with this airport. Getting to the airport was no trouble, we took an Uber and then walked through the tunnel. There is a pedestrian conveyor belt in the tunnel, so it is easy to walk with bags. The overall walk was 10 minutes. We were promptly greeted at the airport by very friendly staff and checked in very quickly. The airport was particularly quiet on this day. The high point for us was the departure lounge. It was small of course but there was complimentary coffee, tea, water and shortbread cookies. Sadly I heard that this is no longer the case. Boarding was quick and easy and our flight left on time.
It is, legit, my favourite city airport (and I’ve travelled a lot via small city airports in my three decades of life, haha). There have two layers to this airport: 1. Outer layer where passengers can get a cab to, and arrive at from the city 2. Inner airport layer which is reached within 2 minutes from parking area by a ferry ride OR a tunnel that has elevates walking ramp (videos attached here) Amazing view from the airport; cute little food hall for snacks and quick coffee/tea! Good news, we can take take the tunnel and ferry ride even without any flight tickets if we want to just enjoy the view for those two minutes ❤️
This is a relatively small airport close to downtown Toronto with lots of regional flights as well as some to the United States. The airport only serves turboprops, and it is mainly served by Porter airlines. The terminals offers some food outlets and duty free shopping, but this is limited. Access to the island airport is by a tunnel for pedestrians or the ferry for cars and pedestrians. The is parking and a car rental right next to the terminal on the island, but it isn't covered. Surface parking is also available on the mainland, but it isn't convenient. The airport is served by a free shuttle from the downtown.
They do a good job keeping the little lounge clean -especially the water closet. The lounge is small. I miss the days when Porter gave you comp. Drinks and snacks in their lounge (pre Covid). There is a coffee and snacks, some hot to order, and a wee sit down area with meals. Both are expensive but ALL airport food everywhere is expensive. If you bring your own water bottle there is a filling station. Good idea to save your money and save the earth. Last thing it is pretty cool landing by the water and with views taking off. My connections in October went well. A nice airport to connect thru.
The convenience If you are downtown or coming in from the train is great. I do miss the free snacks and coffee that Porter offered a few years ago before selling the terminal building. It was quite busy when I was there and hard to find a place to sit and garbage cans were also hard to find. There are 3 privacy pods to get some work done unfortunately they were being used by people stretching out playing games or watching video on their phones. The boarding process is smooth and easy. Taxi time from gate to runway is also short and convenient.
I love Billy Bishop. That’s not a fancy airport and there is not much, but everything is well organize. Checking in is easy, crossing security does not take hours, and the lounge is simple and clean. I fly Porter to Montreal, New York and Chicago, and it’s my go to when I want to avoid Pearson. You can park outside of the Island for 35$ and cross the tunnel, or you can park on the island for 15 more $ for the boat. I love to park on the island. Pretty cool. The view of the CN Tower from there is quite cool. I do recommend Billy Bishop 100%
The airport is situated conveniently in the Toronto islands basically porter and private airlines fly here mostly it’s domestic. Airport isn’t as crowded as YYZ Just gets busy during the afternoon. There is no connecting bridge. You can take a ferry if you’re gonna pick someone up or drop off. If you want to visit other businesses does the same to. If you are early to your flight there is coffee shops fast food restaurants and a food court and other goods at the airport. A little common for international flights to arrive.
I went here for the first time with my family and we we're amazed. We we're flying PORTER airlines and with a family of 7 I of course must admit that it was a pretty nice experience. The terminal was kind of small but that was okay because there was only 2 flights departing that day. We went to the snack store and my Mum ended up spending 108$ for all of us to have snacks. I ended up meeting my friend from 2005 in kindergartens there and we really hit it off. Coming here more often for sure because it was enjoyable.
This airport is located as part of the city, hardly a 15 minute drive from downtown. It's a not very crowded and much convenient in comparison to Pearson. This airport is the hub of Porter Airlines, they operate flights to various parts of Canada and USA. The airport has a ferry service as connection to the airport, since the airport itself is on an island. You can walk your way as well through an underground pathway. There are bus services operated by the airport to downtown and vice versa.
One garbage bin in whole lounge; my charger usb doesn’t charge; WiFi on and off. Zone is called 1 on departure sign but no door has a number on it- instea led doors have letters like “D” seems popular. Unorganised. Sure- it’s cute and cosy and has a free shuttle from Union. Convenient location to stores and transport. WiFi does not work in tunnel. Oh yeah- the 5 elevators has only one button to press to get down. So you have to walk to middle then walk to which ever elevator arrives first.
Best airport ever . Im very happy with the new service. I took flight minimum 500 times all around the world , my best experience was today with the airport. Vallet directly in the front of the airport/nice lady at the valet / no need to take the ferry / no wait inside / smiley employed /they change my flight for an early one at no cost / quick check in and security and to finish the plane left early than the schedule. I will come here all the time now Im giving 6 stars
This airport is very well kept, and new. The security is very nice and professional. Sometimes there isn’t enough seating and the way they deal with cancellations is not ideal. We were delayed two days and one day our last two trips to Toronto - I completely understand that they can’t control the weather but how (Porter Airlines) deal with the cancellation could be better or at least some sort of small token since we were delayed two days would be appreciated.
No complaints! Billy Bishop is a fairly small airport, but I found the entire check-in and security process to be fairly straightforward. However, be prepared for a decent walk through the underground tunnel if you're hand carrying a lot of stuff. Half of the moving platforms were under construction during my visit. Additionally, the food options are limited, but the lounge is excellent and cozy compared to Pearson. There were no delays during my trip here.
Nothing beats the convenience of flying out of Billy Bishop. We live pretty close so it only makes sense to avoid Pearson when possible. Our kids really liked the walk under the water and the lounge once past customs has all the snack needs you want. It was clean. Information was easy to find. I do miss the old days of the free snacks but that’s pretty minor. A few stores to look at and lots of places to charge devices.
Great little airport. Billy Bishop Airport is a great small airport, with stellar services. From its complimentary shuttle to and from DT Toronto, its quick security lines and it’s amazing staff (props to the list and found group), this 12 gate airport has all you need, including a decent restaurant, amble comfortable seating and a great coffee place.
Small airport, quick in and outs, and convenient location for visitors and downtown residents. Unfortunately over the years their service has dropped as a result of cost cuttings they had, but still operating on a higher end comparing to many other small airports. The only downside here lack of alternatives when your flight gets cancelled.
We flew on Porter Airlines and found this airport to be very convenient. We took the free shuttle bus from Union Station to the airport. We used the walking tunnel (not the ferry) to get to the terminal. Check in was efficient. Security was smooth. There were several convenience stores and clean restrooms while we waited for our flight.
the airport itself is cute, small but great views. all of the security is rude including an asian male with a thick vest dressed in tan. he doesn’t know what customer service is and would recommend that if he wants to keep his attitude, maybe a janitorial job away from people would be more suitable for a rude individual such as himself.
I like the cleanliness and straight forward nature of this airport, though parts of it can be confusing when you're leaving for the first time. For reference, especially if you're flying out to EWR, there seem to be flights every about hour and 30 minutes/2 hours or so. They are pretty accommodating to get you in on an earlier flight.
This airport is wonderful! The lines are quick and the staff is extremely friendly. Not to mention the side perks of not having to take off shoes at the security. As an added bonus, the views of downtown Toronto are stunning! I would recommend flying out of here for the convenience to the city center and quick lines.
I would be as stupid as this airport if I take another flight from here. WiFi was broken; no self check-in machines; and no passport inspection if you are flying to the US, which means u will need to spend another 2 hours after you land to have ur passport verified. Right, and my flight was 1 hr late lol.
I love how close this airport is to essentially everything. There is also a free shuttle that runs to and from just above union station and the airport which allows you to get to the metro/subway within 10 mins. The staff are some of the most polite I have ever seen and it is VERY LGBTQ friendly
Second time flying out of YTZ but first time through terminal and was a bit confusing on main floor. Maybe that’s just me who found it confusing. I felt there could have been better signage or guidance within airport to make it more easier to find. Will definitely consider this airport more.
The Chinese lady at the porter airpord lost and found department is so kind and awesome. She helped me found my switch which I lost on the plane! This is a very impressive and amazing experience! Great service, she deserve a raise! Hard working lady with passionate and kindness!
This is a pretty awesome airport to fly out of provided you are able to get down town. No lines for anything whilst waiting for my 8:30am flight. There are a couple areas to pick up a light snack or some souvenirs. The views of the city are astounding.
Small airport but always busy. I love travelling by porter so I go through this airport a lot. The food options are not that great though. For so much traffic..they could have elaborated more on the menu. The airport infrastructure is very good.
Really enjoy the relaxing lounge area with lots of plugs to charge your electronics. The bartender was very accommodating when I asked for ice for my reusable water bottle and the coffee shop offers a discount if you bring your own travel mug.
Small airport in downtown Toronto easily accessed buy ferry or foot tunnel under the lake to the island. Not as crowded as nearby Pearson and great for domestic and short haul US flights Smaller planes in and out with limited flight options.
Very convenient from Downtown Toronto, albeit a very small airport and only propeller plane can fly here. If you’re on the correct side during takeoff and landing, you get to enjoy the view of skyscraper of Toronto (and even other landmarks
The check-in employee, identified by the employee number 6053, displayed an unprecedented level of rudeness, impatience, and hostility in her interactions with us. Her tone and demeanor were not only unwelcoming but also deeply distressing.
Always my go to airport especially when flying to NJ. Security is quick, efficient and it’s always a stress free travel including coming back. It’s very convenient to just fly out of Toronto especially after my work and don’t have to deal
Please have slip ons at security if you’re going to ask people to take their shoes off. The floors are not clean and it’s not sanity to ask passengers to put their bare feet on the floor then put their shoes back on. The lady as security
No complaints here. Super modern little airport, with friendly and quick security. The waiting areas are nicely appointed, but I can see how it can get too busy to find a place to seat. If we could we would always fly from here over YYZ.
This airport is fantastic. Such a chill atmosphere, it’s well maintained and clean, all the staff are friendly and it’s got a few amenities. I’ll be looking to use this airport more in future instead of flying to Pearson.
Great airport; clean, fast, convenient, scenic. Located downtown Toronto (not Mississauga). Easy to get in and out. The free lounge has comfy couches instead of chairs, lots of space to plug in, relax and enjoy the trip.
Why land at Person and spend $50 to get downtown - when you can land in the heart of downtown and walk to your hotel. Plus, the ferry (boat) is a real treat for anyone visiting Toronto. It's a free boat ride; enjoy it!
I love landing here whenever I come to Toronto, Canada because it’s literally a couple of minutes from downtown Toronto. Very convenient. Porter airlines also happens to be one of my favourites so it’s a perfect fit.
There is not much to say as it is the best airport in the world with an amazing stuff. It's an extraordinary experience to fly from here. It's a must. Come here enjoy, go for a beer and then fly
It's wonderful to access downtown Toronto so quickly and efficiently. In a few minutes, you can get off the plane and jump into a meeting. The airport and concession staff was kind and polite.
I loved this airport! We haven't ever run into any issues, it's small so the check in line moved slow, but no other waiting after that! The restaurant at the terminal was delicious as well!
Efficient airport that's easy to get to with incredible views of Toronto. There are plenty of outlets for your computer or phone and the food/drink selection is standard but quite good.
One of the best airport in Canada. I always consider flying from here instead of Pearson YYZ. Free shuttle from Union is beneficial. No wait time for security. Highly recommend.
Airport experience is very smooth here cuz it's so small, makes you not wanna go to Pearson. From getting outta the car and thru security and to the gate, it took us 20 min.
Nice little airport. As long as your ok with a delay every now and then. Decent WiFi, nice lounge area. Could use a Tim’s or something. Options for food and drink are meh.
I love this airport. Easy to access from Union Station, quick check-in, and good service. Direct flights to several key destinations in the US (e.g. NY, DC, Chicago).
Neat little airport. Well functioning, accessible and right on the lake with a view of CN tower. Recommend getting a window seat for flights in and out of here.
Terrific little airport. So convenient for downtown Toronto. Super efficient checkin and security. Nice airside amenities. Great lounge. Super staff.
Great little airport, beats the chaos at Pearson. Good amenities, friendly Porter staff. Comfy seating of all types and lots of places to charge.
Super easy to navigate. Parking was a bit pricey but overall a really good experience. I would fly out of this airport over Person anyway.
One of my most favourite airports! Easy drop off, easy to get to your gate, and all the services you need are available. Great airport.
Very convenient airport for a short flight. Duty free shop is also available. Nice view. Takes about 5 min walk thru the tunnel.
Went through security fast. The aircanada attendant was very helpful. The airport is clean and quite. Had nice decore.
This is a great airport to get right into the heart of Toronto. This is perfect, and it's in a wonderful spot. …
Best way to travel for short flights! Easy access and in and out. This is my go to for non international destinations
Great experience at this airport. Signage was good, security was fast, and announcements were heard loud and clear.
Very good Airport for Travelling to US or within Canada. Less crowded & flights are always on time.
Really efficient airport. Don’t get through security too early as there’s not much airside!
