If your lookong for a realitively long hike by a body of water along a consistently even and smooth trail, then give this public space a visit. In actuality, I don't have anything to contribute regarding the park specifically. Instead, this review is to describe how quiet, scenic, relaxing and peaceful the hiking trail can be amid this urban environment. The trail connects Bishop Fiorenza Phase II to McClendon Park, which is on the west side of Highway 6. The trail is a part of a larger network that branches and extends throughout more of western Houston. If you decide to go out for a leisurely promemade you're sure to see city critters living their lives harmoniously. Birds skimming the water. Turtles basking atop emergent lake tree roots. Squirrels gnawing at their forage. Dogs doing zoomies. Maybe even, a pair of ominous eyes gliding across the water. For a brief rest and a seat providing a broad vantage of this active scenery, I recommend a swinging bench on the hilltop. The view can't be beat especially when the sun is nearing the horizon. The beauty in the sky truly astounds. On that note, and as usual, be safe, be courteous, and as always, enjoy. :)
**UPDATE** The park has a new section of trail that has recently opened!! The trail is three and half miles long, and runs from Eldridge, up to highway 6, and loops back around via westhollow. Its very beautiful and scenic, if you like photography and the outdoors. This park is a beautiful outdoor area! There are two or three large ponds/lakes in and around the surrounding park area. This make it a great place to come and fish, walk/run/jog, read, enjoy quiet time, etc. The jogging trail runs quite a distance, although I'm not sure how far.. The play ground can get extremely crowded in the afternoons and on the weekends, it is advisable to follow your child around if they are small (if you are a constantly watching for pedophiles to take your children) or maybe a folding lawn chair just in case there is no seating available. What I like most, as a mother, dog owner and jogger of this park, the water fountains are not super dirty, and there is a little fountain for our furry friends. The water also is not super gross tasting, as it is in most parks. This is overall a really nice park for someone who likes or doesn't mind the outdoors.
Excellent park for long runs. If you're into running/jogging/or even biking. This park has long winding trails that connect to another park ( McClendon). And from McClendon it breaks off into other trails. My go-to park if I want to run 5 to 10 miles. Non-stop multiple loops that connect to each other. You don't have to worry about dead ends or stopping to change direction in the middle of your run. The park staff does a great job of landscaping and making sure there isn't litter all over the place. Very clean for such a big park. The dog owners here pick up the poop off the ground almost 100 % of the time. I rarely have to avoid poop on the trail or parking areas.Plenty of parking on the street inside the park. There's a small lot by the playground that gets full at busy times BUT there's a long street inside the park entrance that has more than enough parking on both sides at all times. The street parking is right next to the trail and not as crowded, so I park there all the time anyways. It's better than parking in the lot where it can get crowded.
I frequent this place often. It is a good place to take a walk or bicycle ride around the reservoir. This park stretches from Eldridge pkwy to Highway six. It also has children's playground. You can see lot of birds swarming around the reservoir. There are small mounds around the park which you can climb for better view of the surrounding area. There are sign boards around the park saying alligators in the reservoir. Though I have not seen any of them but I would suggest everyone to be aware. Sometimes due to rain, the bridge connecting certain sections of the park might go under water. Therefore, make sure to cross it with care. I have seen people fishing here but not sure if you can do that.
Always enjoy this place. Favorite of mine and my son too, although it gets slightly crowded over the weekend. Kids can enjoy at the play park. For others, the trails and the plush lawns are inviting. Those are clean and nicely maintained. The trails are popular for cycling, jogging, running and even the simple walks. This park offers amazing for the nature lovers. Nice opportunity for the landscape and nature photography. And if you are lucky enough, you can click some nice photos of birds too. Just beware of park closure timings. Generally gets closed by the sunset time.
My husband and I come here frequently to ride our bikes. It's one of our favorite places because the trail is miles long. It also helps that the trail is paved so we don't get any mud on our bike tires. That's definitely a plus because of the rainy Houston weather. I like that along the trails there are stations with built-in equipment and instruction to do different workouts. There are several stations to choose from. The trail connects to what seems like 3 different parks. There is also a jungle gym for the kiddos. Overall, great place to do your workouts.
Only two tables with fixed seating for 6, no grills, yes men and women bathrooms, no swimming, no wading, no boats, kayaks, or canoes or any other watercraft, yes fishing, all Texas fishing limits and laws apply. Open dawn to dusk. Exercise breaks around the park. Dogs should be on leashes, sometimes there's coyotes and they are wild and not on leashes and have killed pets not on leashes. My granddaughter, 2 smalldogs were there today. Real close and we just walked there frequently.
This is a terrific park for strolls, fast walking, jogging, riding a bike and just enjoying nature! The people that frequent here are usually nice, and smiling!! You see people walking their dogs, riding bikes, walking and chatting, fishing, and just shooting the breeze. Many times there will be an on duty policeman there. Don't forget to walk up the hill for amazing views when it is clear!! There are benches and swings up there to rest, if needed!!
This has been a nice family park for us for the past two years. The playground is kept clean and maintained and the walking trails have had no trash as far as I know. There is a constable deputy at times posted by the entrance for our safety and is sure to close everything down by dusk. My kids love visiting the playground and I like the small walking trail that surrounds it because the trees covers most of it and provides ample shade.
Do not leave valuables in your car at this park unless you want them to disappear. Make sure you pick up after your dog because,it will result in a citation for failing to pick up after them of $200. If you bring your dog make sure they are on a leash as the leash law exists as well. Follow the rules be observant of your surroundings, and do not leave valuables, in your car at this park unless you want them to disappear.
I mean it's nothing to write home about but my son and nephews love this park. The trails are awesome, there's a beautiful fishable lake stocked with bass and catfish and whatever crappies are. Monkey bars seem upgraded swings should probably be next. I wish gravel was more level for my rollerblading but I'm just grateful they aren't dirt trails. 100% paved! ♂️ Oh and watch out for alligators...bye!
Huge beautiful Walking Park with a playground for the kids a huge waterways been built to keep the this end of town from flooding but it's beautiful with all of the Flora and Fauna rounded lots of birds if you're a bird watcher. Picnic tables available and there is a restroom. Come see it plenty of parking and there's a park across the street that you can actually choose to walk onto.
Great for impromptu fishing trips in the city... the lakes are stocked! Very relaxing, peaceful place.
Playground
Nice playground. Perfect for an outing with the kids.
Restrooms
Very well kept... maintenence crew is on point.
Dog-friendliness
Bring'em if you got'em! All dogs are welcome.
Picnic area
Their are some picnic benches around the playground area.
This is a wonderful park with amazing walking/biking trails, views of the bayou, fishing, and wildlife! There's a nice playground and beautiful grassy knolls for a picnic! The trails are winding and scenic. I can walk here all day! So peaceful and serene. Oh, and our furry friends are allowed as long as they are leashed and you keep the park clean by picking up after your pup!
I love this park its layout is perfect for a walk, jog or bike ride. Has playground, bathrooms and a sidewalk trail that is about 5mi that goes alongside westpark tollway park interior, connects between Eldridge Parkway through another side of the park via an underpass that goes under Hwy 6 over to the other side. Lakes add peaceful and beautiful ambiance.
This park surprisingly feels isolated despite being right by Westpark Tollway. The trails are clean for the most part but if you go right after a big rain, one of bridges will get flooded. There are also a ton of anthills everywhere so avoid the grass. The trails go for a long distance and the place is a haven for a lot of different birds.
Amazing park! So many different routes to take so each day can feel like a different track. I don’t mind the flooding part since my nieces are able to get their feet wet and play around the flooded area safely. The best thing that can happen to this park is to have lights and stay open until 11 pm like at Buffalo Bayou Park
Beautiful park. There are spots to fish at the huge wrap around lake, but be careful it’s not deep water and easy to snag. The play area for the kids is really nice, lovely walking trails, beautiful scenery and space to throw the football or play volleyball. I highly recommend this park. Everyone seemed very friendly!
So I was walking around the lake on the paths and parked onthe road but the lake and i come back to my truck and it had been broke into. Some of my Christmas gifts and a fishing pole inside my truck was taken. Not too much security there and make sure you watch your vehicles if parked away from the main park area.
I see the lake every day on my commute, and it's lovely in the sunrise. But the park is convenient to nowhere that I usually go. But when I finally got a chance to take the kids there, they really enjoyed it. The playset is nice and mostly shaded. However, the real attraction is the long trail around the lake.
Cool park, plenty of parking too. I didn't see any mile markers since it was my first time there but it was a nice time. Police presence is a plus. I don't like seeing people fish. It's a man made lake so get a move on. They just creep there staring at people exercising. Will be going back for sure …
I really like this park. It connects to McClellan park so you can increase lengthen your runs/walks. I typically ride my bike over here, but there are a lot of ppl so its hard to get in a sprint workout. You can fish here, feed turtles, run, walk, fly kites, are just sit on a bench and take in the scenery.
In this spacious and cool place, even in hot weather, we had a great time with my family, now in times of social distancing, it's perfect because the place is big. I can run ♀️♀️♂️ ride a bike♀️, walk♀️, take my pets. Seeing the sunset in this place is wonderful. …
Favorite place to walk. Very nice paved trail that is about 6 miles if you do the whole thing. It's a nature sanctuary, so lots of water, birds of all kinds, fishing, and even a resident alligator. Shaded areas as well as open. Benches and swings to view the water. Play area for kids and restrooms.
This is my favorite park in West Houston! I walk here several times a week, weather permitting. I absolutely love the walking trails, especially the new trail that goes around the lake/retention pond. It's a great place to see a large variety of coastal birds that visit this park regularly.
Nice place to chill, bike, hike, walk, & fish (just to drop a line) around large water reservoir. Part of Addicks reservoir system. It has a Small kiddie play ground & ample parking. Somewhat under developed in terms of benches & picnic tables, no grills. They have a few.
Cute playground with structures that look like little houses. Swings, slide. Gazebo right next to play structure great for shady picnics. Long, attractive jogging path with lots of picnic tables and benches. Tire swing and bungee cord climber near playground too.
This is a really nice community park. The reservoirs are good places to see birds. There is a large hill offering benches and good views. There are a few exercise benches/equipments along the trail. There is a small playground area with decent restrooms.
This is a great hike/bike/playground! Newly paved trails as of 2014 and landscaping is in progress. There aren't trash bins anywhere along the trails, but hopefully they are yet to come. There are also places where people fish along the bayou.
The best kept secret in west Houston. It rivals Memorial Park albeit without the tree lined running track. A few years will solve that. Ample parking, clean bathrooms, paved track, clean, safe. Seemed to be patrolled regularly.
Where nature meets man in harmony. If you haven't been to this park, I highly suggest you check it out. There's a large lake/pond in the middle and you can usually spot impressive water fowl in their almost natural habitat.
Beautiful park with play equipment for various ages. There are several beaches to rest at as well. There's also a corner store right across the street. We were able to get cold drinks and a snack after our play time.
One of my most visited park for my kids and I. There is always a crowd but it's big enough to accommodate. They have a large park for under 5 and over 5. And they have great trails to take a walk. Nicer scenery.
The park is really beautiful. The walk around the lake during the evenings is amazing! It's quiet, calm , and serene ! There is a kind of hill and you can go on top to see the sunset ! It's beautiful …
A gigantic man made Lake and Hills and Flood control at the same time.Great outdoors to jogging, biking, kite flying and fishing I think too.Only there is no restroom avialable on the other end of the park.
It’s family oriented park or for some solo’s, you can relax, jog on trails, play at playground with your children, play sports and or exercise with your trainer and or self. It’s very tree shady too.
We went there with ebikes for strolling and climbing the mounds/hills. This is my kind of place, international people and probably down to earth folks sharing the space and minding their own business
I really like this park. The play area is great for the kids. It's clean. The trail is great, it's not flat, and it is smooth for biking/ roller blades/ skateboards/ etc. there are also nice views.
This is an amazing huge park for everything: walking, running, cycling, skating, soccer, picnics, calisthenics, being with trees, firefly watching (when in season, they are so magical!), Hammock ☺️
I live in Alief and have a 5-year-old daughter who loves to frequently be outside so finding a good Park is pretty important and I discovered this one yesterday and my daughter had a blast there
I love coming to this park my children love is good the bathroom on site is very good to avoid potty accidents with the kids just sit enjoy and relax patrol by constables I feel secure here
It's a great park for kids. There's a bathroom and water fountain. There's a rock climbing wall and several slides. My grandson who is 5 years old can safely navigate all if the equipment.
Lovely park with a huge body of water, a play ground and a large trail to walk, lots of people fish here. there are bathroom and a water fountain. Lighting is the only thing missing here.
My greatest outdoor gym ever. Walking, running, leisurely walk to enjoy the water it's all here. I don't get tired of it, have done min 4 miles and max 10 miles at this park and love it.
253 bird species have been recorded here via Cornell Lab ebird surveys documentation. Miles of paved trails, wooded thickets, open grassy areas, large detention ponds and bird islands.
Me and my mom have been going here since I was 3 and now I'm 11 and still love this park to the this day and it has a nice running track and a beautiful view of a huge pond …
It's a great park for jogging and/or biking. South loop is approx 4 miles and it's pretty well maintained. I hope city will add lights and water fountains on the trail soon.
Clean park, clean trail but do NOT leave valuable items in your car. I was broken in to here at the end of last year with nothing of value visible or even in my car at all.
Great park, except the Constables don't patrol it . They'll come when called about a problem. I was told by a constable they were taken off the park to do traffic stops.
Is a great place to count you 3 miles workout in only two circuits!. Convenient and nice ambiance, people fishing around . It needs some light at night, though.
Beware of these dogs and their owner. They are often without a leash and will attack without hesitation. Owners will take no responsibility for the attacks.
My favorite park..I love the water.

Great place for hiking and biking, one compleat trip around the big lake is about 4 miles, one trip around the small lake in about 1 mile.
Great park if it isn't flooding. Amazing view of the pond of top of the hills although it could use more trees to provide shading
Very nice and cool environment, good park, clean, good trails, very good maintenance and most important is safe for everybody

Love going here with the kids. Only one playground but lots of walking paths. And the water is cool to sit and watch.
Nice park. Some dog owners should ensure to properly dispose their pet's poop There are lots of kids playing around.
Great views of water & waterbirds, usually a nice breeze , park & restrooms always clean, shady play area for kids
A nice place to go for a run around the water, with nice vantage points to relax and look down from the hilltops.
