DO NOT TRUST Ric Davies. We recently used Black Diamond for a new HVAC system in our home and unfortunately are very disappointed in their service and lack of communication. Ric Davies was who we first spoke to about the HVAC. He sold us big ideas and planned out the entire installation and then when the project started, he did not show up ONCE and did not respond to a single message after that time. When he designed the system, he said he would be by us every step of the way, yet has not been back to our home since we signed the bid. We still have not received a single response from him once the project started. The crew that installed the HVAC was nice enough/very polite and worked hard, but seemed very confused and the project took much longer and was different than what Ric had originally sold to us. Since the project was completed, the HVAC system has stopped working multiple times and we still have not had longer than a week or two where the system has been working and they haven’t had to send out a tech to figure out a new problem. Furthermore, every time we call Black Diamond, they send out a new employee that knows nothing about the system that was installed and has to spend the whole day getting up to speed/there is no continuity or productive communication. We are deeply disappointed in Ric Davies and would advise staying clear of his services. He was unprofessional and disrespectful. We are not at all satisfied with our HVAC system as it continues to malfunction. We would not choose Black Diamond again.

I've used Black Diamond for quite a bit of work on my aging home. Electrical, plumbing and some upgrades. I've been unimpressed in recent months however. I had to schedule an air conditioner service three times because they were busy with emergency repairs. I understand being without AC and mine had been operating fine, so I've been patient. Finally got a tech on this past Wednesday for a service and tune up. They attempted to upsell me on parts that were fine, but he felt should be replaced. I declined as I have a home warranty that will cover failures. After the tech left, I noticed that the AC was running warm. Come to find out, the fuses in the disconnect box were removed and not replaced, box cover left open and two small caps left on the ground near the unit. Black Diamond said they would have a tech out to check it Saturday morning. That fell through because the tech had an "emergency". I know it was the tech that didn't complete the work. I have an alarm system with a camera that looks over the back and was able to see how he did some work and packed everything up, leaving the fuses out and box opened. Luckily I was able to figure out how to put the fuses back in, otherwise I would have been without AC until Monday, or later. I'm not extremely handy and would have rather had a tech come out and go over everything to make sure the job was completed. I'm not sure that it was. Will be looking for some locally owned HVAC companies in the future. Black Diamond took so much of my money over the last year.

There is nothing worse than the heat or A/C going out when you need it. These guys are fast and responsive and very professional. Everyone that works for this company was fantastic. Henry was our salesman that came out to see what was wrong. After I showed him where the equipment was and told him what little I knew he told me there were two likely scenarios. Unfortunately, it turns out our system was installed in 1987 so there were some major issues and we needed to replace everything. Luckily for us he could get an install team out the next day. The install team showed up early and got right to work. Max and Riley gave me a quick overview of what they would be doing and how things would look when they were done. They did a wonderful job of keeping our house clean throughout the entire process. They used drop cloths and wore shoe coverings constantly so the house was spotless when they left. Because we needed a full system replacement it was no easy task. Around 5pm I thought they were going to come tell me they would have to come back the next day. I was wrong and grateful. Max and Riley stayed and worked until we were back up and running. While they were wrapping up they gave me a tour of every piece of the new system and thoroughly explained any and all questions I had. This crew was awesome to have helping me throughout the process. Every single person in the company has been super knowledgeable, friendly, and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely recommend this company to my friends and family.

Jake Shelley went above and beyond to assist with coordinating a new furnace and AC install at my vacant 2nd home. *** It is important to mention that the quotes provided for new furnaces were MUCH LOWER than the cost of a new furnace from their competitors in SLC. Even if it was more money, I would have still gone with Black Diamond because I trust that they will do the job correctly and up to code. **** Jake provided several options for furnace models and was knowledgeable about the benefits of each one. Jake knew the furnace was out and came to evaluate it on short notice, the EVENING BEFORE THANKSGIVING. He was patient with all my questions and assisted with scheduling the installation within a couple of days. We ended up running into complications with Dominion Gas. Jake facilitated communication between the gas company, the installers, and me to ensure the house was safe. Trying to take care of this on a property I don't currently live in was overwhelming, and Jake's timely, knowledgeable responses made a huge difference. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BLACK DIAMOND HEATING AND AIR SLC.

Hi. It's me again. I had my water heater flushed today. Black Diamond Experts were on point just like the other 2 times. Brandon came out this morning. He was right on time. Appropriately dress, he was friendly, professional, personable, respectful and respectful of my property. He was mindful and put on shoe covers. He kept me informed to what he was doing and did not do anything without discussing it with me. He went above and beyond what is his requirement for customer care is. This is quality customer service. Brandon is an asset to your company. I will definitely see you in the future. I will highly recommend you to ppl. I will absolutely be working it into a conversation. Black Diamond Experts you have been a life saver for me. Your expert team has put my mind to rest. Even though some are past their shelf life no one put any pressure on me. I was instructed what to do going forward to possibly extend their life. Great experience with Black Diamond. I worked with Jaren and he exceeded every expectation I had. After receiving bids from other companies, we were concerned that we needed to rip apart our entire basement, but Jaren came up with a great solution that caused minimal mess. The team was in and out in the estimated time 2-3 days and kept everything as tidy as they could. They were also very communicative. Each day they would tell me when they were going to lunch, and when they’d be back. They were always back on time and busted their tails to get the job done After the work was completed, Jaren came over to look at the final product, let us ask questions, and have suggestions on the best way forward. He made the entire process really easy and approachable, and wasn’t pushy or sales throughout the process. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a better group of professionals. 10/10 would recommend.

Mike, Jason, Matt, Damien, and Bryant did an amazing job replacing my main water line. They evaluated it on a Friday and spent the entire next week digging a deep trench in my yard, laying the new line, and updating the plumbing. They went above and beyond by putting my yard back exactly how it was and being extra careful to hand dig many feet of the trench near our gas line. They even took extra care to not disturb our vegetable planter boxes, and they updated some of the other connectors in our plumbing from plastic to brass which I really appreciated. They were extremely professional, kind, knowledgeable, and considerate. I am so glad I chose Black Diamond Plumbing and I am very happy that they back their work with a 5 year warranty! Thank you so much for doing excellent work, I will certainly go back with Black Diamond if I ever have another issue and will recommend them to my friends.

I called for the leak in upstairs bathroom. The dispatcher was kind and she sent first available guy. His name was Don and I explained I just returned from Europe due to my father's passing and having a 75 yr old Mother in wheelchair who lost her Social Security. He said PIPES are broken and gave me an estimate of 3000 USD and my neighbor came over next day and fixed it for under 20 $ as only the fittings were rusted and leaked. Worst of all, Black Diamond guy said he turned off the valves until I get the money, and told me to put more towels as it will continue to leak for a while, but until my neighbor came over only one valve was turned off and the other one kept running... I am not making any assumptions whether my Eastern European accent or me being a clueless female had anything to do with a 3000 dollars quote, but you decide for yourself. At least get a second opinion before hiring

Awesome services received today: overall the company is prompt, communicative and extremely well priced. Both technicians were respectful of time, giving advice without pushing a sale, and knowledgeable on putting in place solutions. Also they had the details down - I really appreciate that the company supplied foot covers for the workforce! Dannyl (otherwise know as Danny or Daryl) came out and helped with some serious plumbing issues; based on my self research, I thought my pipes were diagnosed with a terminal disease, but he proved that you don’t need a doctorate to make the whole system healthy again. Rusty followed up with some A+ furnace maintenance and provided really good insights into what we could and should be doing to live a cleaner air lifestyle. Would recommend them for any HVAC or plumbing woes.

I have the Black Diamond Expert Maintenance plan. Today was a plumbing check and water heater flush. When the water heater was flushed, there was leak that hadn't been there before. Danny, my technician explained that my water heater was 11 years old and quoted me a price to repair the leak. It was very expensive. I was very disappointed and asked if there was anyway that I could at least have the labor free. Danny made a phone call to Jared, a general manager and came back to let us know of his decision. Danny told me that Jared said to repair it at no cost. Thank you Jared so much!! Thank you Danny for all the time you took to call those in charge, go out of your way to get the parts and take all the time it took to fix the problem. We really appreciate it! We will continue with Black Diamond Experts.

Shane was amazing! He broke it all down so we can understand and helped us out with the struggle on money. He got us set up really quickly and meshed really well with our personalities in the house. I absolutely love Black Diamond and would definitely recommend getting the membership because it helped so much when getting set up with a new Furnance and AC. Thank you guys so much! Update: Bryan and Carson seemed to be really great. I wasn't home for the install, but my mom was and she seemed to be really impressed with both of them and bith the furnace and AC were up and running before the end of the day. Bryan walked me though the whole system and tested everything before hand to make sure it was all running great. Thank you again!

I had Black Diamond Experts install a new furnace and AC, I had a concern about installation and they sent someone out to address it promptly. The system I had installed was supposed to qualify for a $1600 rebate from rocky mountain power but as it turns out, it didn't qualify. When I called black diamond about it they mailed me a check for the rebate amount! This was what I was hoping they would do since the rebate was a big factor in choosing the system I got but I figured they wouldn't do it but they actually mentioned it before I could. They impressed me with my initial quote since they actually took measurements and ran the numbers to ensure the new equipment would be sized correctly. I would highly recommend these guys!

I have to say at 7:45am there they were the following morning Santos, Sammy and Vance ready to replace my whole cooling and heating system all of it. Long story short at 7:pm that night I come home from work and they are barely cleaning up, what an effort and expertly done I must say, All I had in my wallet was a $20 to tip them I hadn't thought about a tip but if you read this guys I still owe you a couple of sandwiches or something. The experience was a very good one and I recommend Black Diamond to anyone needing there services, and if you do you will probably meet Jordan she is the key to setting all of this up and very pleasant to work with. Thx to all of you, I appreciate your honesty and work ethics VERY much..

NO-SHOW--TWICE!! LESSON LEARNED. (1) Asked for quote from electrician, who showed up as arranged, provided quote, and arranged time to provide service. At appointed time, electrician never showed. Called the business whose rep ultimately promised appointment the next day. Never showed up. They then called ***3 days after the appointment*** to say electrician was on his way. I simply do not have this kind of time to waste and had my trusted handyman complete the job instead. (2) When I called to ask about no-shows, the phone tree asked if this was about an existing order or a new order. Predictably, nobody answered the phone when I picked "existing order" but the phone was quickly answered when I picked "new order".

First time user, first time home owner. I had a great expertise with Canyon. He came out and diagnosed the system perfectly. He worked diligently and quickly and he even identified that the blower was set to low for property system efficiency. Not only did he do all this but did it all while taking the time to explain to me every single thing I had the thought to ask. He walked me through every step of the process both during the current repair and over best practices on how to take care of my unit going forward. As a first time home owner he really helped me understand what I could do to keep my system at peak efficiency. I could not be happier and will use black diamond again.

Needs to work on their communication with customers. I recently scheduled an appointment between 8AM-Noon. After it hit noon and I still hadn't heard from them, I sent a text to the company to find out if they were still coming. While they said they could come in about an hour (after they finished another appointment), I had told them at booking that I was unavailable after noon; and thus, couldn't make that work. While they apologized on the phone and offered to schedule another appointment later in the week, I made arrangements with a company I know is more reliable and keeps me informed if they're running late.

Frigid showers are the pits! Luckily, we were able to get Black Diamond out to our home within a couple hours of calling. The consultation with Donnie was smooth and easy. He explained our options and I felt like he gave us the truth of the situation and didn't try to upsell. He presented the facts and let us decide based on the info. With luck, the team was able to replace our water heater on the same day, and Dalton & Parker were great to work with. They worked quickly and efficiently, and were done in less time than what was estimated. It was also fairly quiet, which I appreciated while I worked. Thank you!

We just had a technician here to repair our furnace. We noticed the house getting really cold last night. Should have called them in the night but figured it was not a big deal and we could get one of the boys to come over to do a quick fix. When it wasn't quick or easy, we called the experts. Our first call was to another company and they had an opening on Friday. Yikes! We called Black Diamond and they were at our house an hour later. Rusty worked quickly and was able to replace the part that had worn out and now we're back to warmth and comfort. Thank you Black Diamond for you excellence and fairness.

Great company that works with you! My experience started off With Henry, I needed to fix or replace my furnace Henry and I decided it would be the best route to replace the unit. He was supper helpful and informative walking me through every option under the sun for my budget. When the time came to install the new furnace Max & Kody were the technicians to do the work, I was told of every procedure the entire way through and was asked if certain things were okay to do and if I'd be pleased with what they needed to do. Both were very respectful and caring to get the job done well. Thank you Black Diamond!

We had a problem with our water heater and had multiple companies out for quotes. The other companies were going to overcharge us to fix the problem. But as soon as Daren from Black Diamond came out, he told us what parts we needed to order since we still had a warranty on the water heater. He came back as soon as the parts showed up and was done in 30 minutes. Daren was very professional, to the point and highly competent. The hot water works great and it was a very good price as well. I am very satisfied and would recommend Black Diamond to anyone with water heater issues. 10/10 service!

By far the most unprofessional company around. Needed a main line fixed and they sent kids to do a man’s job. Cut the electrical line causing the power to be out for everyone. Left the biggest mess around and needed to hire another company to put the front yard to even an acceptable appearance. Management did absolutely nothing to rectify the situation yet did acknowledge it was a poor job. I wouldn’t use this company if they did it for free. That’s the other complaint they changed outrageous costs and know they can when your in a dire situation. Absolutely Horrible company

I have been using Black Diamond for my business and home services in HVAC, electrical and plumbing for the last 10 years. I exclusively use them for a variety of reasons; they are prompt, professional and respectful. The installers and support staff are polite and prompt. They show up when they say they're going to. They get things done when promised. They will do whatever is necessary to finish the job to your satisfaction. We just had a $20K furnace/AC unit installed at our business. John, Gage and Andy were great to work with. I would recommend them 100%.

90% of the time when a service man leaves I get a sinking feeling that I have been taken advantage of, and been overcharged, and on top of that got a band aide fix. NOT THIS TIME ! I was so happy and relieved after the service that Stetson performed. Next time,(there is always a next time) I will ask for him by name, I was that happy and impressed by him and the job he did for us. This company from the phone operators on down were a pleasure to do business with. Great Employees, Great Business Policy. Highly recommend!!!

Water Heater stopped working and Donnie came out and replaced the water heater and mentioned the water softener, which we got. He was very personable and answered all my questions. Love both the water heater and water softener. Then we called for a plumber to snake our bathtub and Danny came and we found out that we had pipes leaking and needed to have them replaced. Danny replaced all the pipes and we got an another toilet. He answered all my questions! Danny is the BEST! I highly recommend Black Diamond!

I had a need to improve the lighting and electrical capacity in my shop. They figured out the most efficient way of achieving that and at the end of a very long and very hot day they had done it, except for one light. They were back the next morning and took care of it. They worked very hard and they worked as a team. That makes quite a difference. They were personable and professional at the same time. I will use no one else in the future. I recommend them with no reservations whatsoever.

Max and Cesar were excellent installers and really saved the day for us today. We needed to have a full system installed immediately and Max and Cesar were able to come out the next day. They were both fast and professional and I would recommend Black Diamond to anyone needing this service. I have only high praise for their entire team. From John who initially came out to conduct an inspection of our existing system, to Andy that came out and walked me through our options.

Robert and Canyon came today for a HVAC system tune up. I appreciated the text telling me when they would arrive. They were professional and respectful. They explained their work and what they found. They explained options and were sufficiently informative but not pushy in offering me additional services and service plans. This experience and one or two other past experiences with Black Diamond Experts have been positive. I plan to use them again in the future.

We had a pretty extensive main line repair. Obviously no one wants to deal with that, but the experience with Black Diamond was great from the initial diagnosis, to the scheduling, to the actual repair. They were really easy work with, explained everything, and the project went exactly as planned. My neighbors even commented that the crew was helpful and friendly. Can't say enough about Alan, Jordan, and Adrian. I would easily recommend Black Diamond.

Bryan was amazing and super informative .... He explain everything so clearly and provided us with different options. He also has great manners, super friendly, and wonderful customer service! I’ve had a couple great experiences with black Diamond now. I wish I remembered the name of the first person that helped us figure out a strange electrical burning smell. He was so wonderful and thorough! Today Daren Anderson came and checked our water heaters and all of the faucets and was so good to answer questions and never pushed us to pay for anything extra. So far I’ve been very impressed with the company.

I was truly amazed at Justin’s experience and professionalism in installing a difficult furnace and his willingness to see the job through. We had to wait for the gas company to turn the gas on to test the furnace. Justin was so kind and willing to go back to fire up the new furnace with no complaints! I would highly highly recommend Justin and Ric Davies for all your needs. 1,000% awesome Thank you so much.

There’s not enough good things I can say… Josh Olsen was absolutely awesome to work with! I had an outdoor outlet installed and quickly saw how great he is to work with. Shortly after, I also got an electric car charger installed due to the great work. The care and attention to detail is unmatched. I will not be going anywhere else for my electrical needs! I would recommend him and his team over and over again!

Mike and his team did an excellent job lining our old sewer line. Minimal impact on our landscaping even though they had to renew almost 150+ feet of line fighting terrain and gravity. The work was top quality, the team upmost professionals and they kept us informed every step of the way. We will continue to go with Black Diamond for all of our needs and wholeheartedly recommend them!!

Brett and Aidan came and switched out several of our light fixtures, added a new outlet in our garage to unload some of the power, fixed another switch , and did an amazing job at communicating with us throughout the whole process. They did such an amazing job. They were very friendly and professional making sure everything was just how we wanted it. Very impressed with their work.

Bryan, Mario, and Bernie went above and beyond. Helped me troubleshoot an unrelated lighting issue I was able to quickly fix. Also corrected some of the other electrical issues that were not done correctly in years past, free of charge. They are honest/friendly people that did a great job replacing/upgrading my main electrical panel/meter. Highly recommend!

They did great job at flushing my tankless water heater! Wesley was super polite, nice and showed me what he was doing and what might be possible issues! He let me know about things that he could do, but wasn't pushy about having him do more than I was thinking of having done today! So I will say that it was a good experience, professional and informative!

Ronnie did an excellent job and was easy to work with. Price was competitive and communication was great. Highly recommended! Had Black Diamond back again to install a new furnace, AC, and condenser. Brian and Luke did a fantastic job and went the extra mile. There were a few unexpected issues they ran into with my house and were able to solve every one.

Josh D was amazing! He was professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and efficient. He provided us with an electrical inspection, then at my request we discussed replacing our kitchen light fixture that has not worked in years. I gave him the “go ahead” and he purchased and installed a new fixture in just a few hours. I highly recommend Black Diamond!

Kris was here today. He did a great job. He came on an emergency gas repair gob. Very professional. Gave me my options, and let me decide what I wanted to do. They were here within 2 hours of calling. Very helpful. He was willing to answer other plumbing related questions. When it was all said and done my gas was fixed and I want stressed anymore.

We had an electrical issue come up at our home and decided to call Black Diamond to fix it for us.Ryan labarr was amazing to work with! He worked multiple quotes for what we could use in our home. Once we decided what route to take he was able to get our plug and breaker installed in no time the following Monday! He was very kind and informative!

Justin and Kody were very professional and really nice to work with. They explained the entire process and made sure when they were finished we had no questions. Our electrician Ryan was so helpful and thorough - he discovered why our outlets weren’t working and went above and beyond to get us the right kind of circuit breaker that needed to be replaced. He helped us know how to not have our mistake repeated again, too. Great to work with, and we were seen the same day that we called!

Showed up on time, explained/showed everything very well, and went the extra mile to make sure my system was super clean and running perfectly. Had Black Diamond out to give a bid on a new system. Out of all the bids I recieved these guys are the only ones to actually measure out square footage, & count registers and windows. The tech was very informative and also gave me info on what to look out for with the other bidders. Great customer service, thanks Shane!

We just had an outstanding experience with Black Diamond installation of new HVAC systems. Max was the lead tech and was not only very efficient, but worked long hours to get the job done. Canyon was great at giving our HVAC a tune up and servicing our humidifier. I loved that he presented us with offers but I didn’t feel any pressure to buy the extras. He was great at showing me how to maintain our system and walked me through the whole process. He was quick at the job and respectful.

Jonny and his crew did an amazing job! They did a great job repairing the electrical issues we had! They put in a new power box and replaced all outlets inside and outside the house. Ryan and Riley came to our home and completed the installation of our chandelier in a timely manner. Both of them were very professional and did excellent work. Pictures were provided for the work completed in the attic that we could not see. We will definitely call Black Diamond Experts again.

Canyon was the absolute best. Very thorough. Explained what he was doing the whole time. Found an issue and offered to replace and fix it right then showing pictures so I could understand what was the issue. One of our wires was melted and corroded by the rust as seen in the picture. Thank you

I had a great experience with Black Diamond. I called in October and made an appointment to have my Furnace checked. They were booked out for several weeks, but came on the day of the appointment within the agreed upon hours. Robert was clean, efficient and very knowledgeable and professional.

My technician Rusty was knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem with my heating system within 30 minutes. I felt that he was trustworthy as he told me what parts needed replacing and what would continue to last for another few years. I can recommend Black Diamond based off of this experience.

Brian and Gage did a good job on a furnace installation and accommodated my requirements for routing the new exhaust plumbing so it left as much head space as possible. This wasn't the easiest option so that was appreciated. They were professional and thorough and did nice clean work.

Rusty was friendly, competent, and diligent. After fixing the issue that presented initially, there was still some irregularities. Rusty worked until he understood what was going and explained it in a manner I could easy understand. Beyond satisfied with the service we received.

The team from Black Diamond showed up right on time, installed new smoke detectors and heat tape for our rain gutters. They were quick and efficient, the company was in contact with us every step of the way. We would definitely recommend them for any electrical work.

Brett and Alex came to our home to replace our old breaker panel. Both were very polite and professional. Brett made sure I understood what he was doing and explained any changes he needed to make. They left the work area as clean as it was before they started work.

We were having issues with our furnace and they were able to fit us in very quickly. Not having heat at the start of winter with three little kids was not something I was looking forward to! They got in, replaced a part the same day and it’s been work great since!
