On the day I saw a principal of the practice arrive in a lovely car (googled it, not as expensive as i thought but ~100k) I saw a doctor for 5-10 min, charged $90, sent for a scan. Just called to get the results and they won't provide without a paid appointment. If I do that will be paying more for GP appointments than the actual scan, and the scan took half an hour, so twice as long as I'll be spending with the GP! So I'm not doing that. Lucky the reports are available online, will just wait for that. And probably not go back I think. Anyone know of a good clinic near Doncaster? [edit] Shame because the doctors are generally quite good - should have included that. [edit to owner response] Thank you for your response. You are correct that in the past getting feedback from tests has not resulted in any charges. That was why I was surprised - I thought I may not have made myself clear so didn't make an appointment on call #1 and called back the next day, and did make myself clear, and also specifically asked (paraphrased) "so to get my results i need to make a paid appointment?" with a response "yes". It may be that my question should have ended "i need to make a formal appointment, which i may be charged for or may not, based on doctor's discretion?" but to be honest the thought never crossed my mind, I just let the staff know (calmly) I wasn't going to make an appointment or come back. I will say that within an hour or two of my google review I had two missed calls and a text from your clinic with my results. Based on all the above, am going to upgrade my review to 3 stars - still not sure if I'll be back though.

Had to cancel appt as this place has gone to non-mask wearing for staff and patients. Cancelled in person when we arrived to find a waiting room full of sniffing and sneezing patients with no masks. Dr was 25 minutes late. Explained reason to Dr but still slugged with a $60 cancellation fee (for two appointments). Just wow! (Edit to owner response) “Something isn’t quite adding up” with the reply from this centre. $60 was charged for cancelling two back-to-back 15 minute appointments. The patient cancelled appointments in person with the Dr (half an hour after the first appointment was supposed to start) when it was clear that this was not a safe environment in which to stay. A patient sneezed repeatedly at reception and was asked if they have cold symptoms. Patient said no and there was no follow up and no masking. If this place has a ‘no show’ fee, and not a ‘cancellation’ fee, then my partner should not have been charged anything - let alone 1/3 more. Charging people for not showing when they are there explaining why they are leaving seems like terrible form. She ‘showed up’ but was not prepared to stay. I can’t blame her.

Went to clinic with severe cough doctor prescribed some antibiotics . But I saw some blood on cough so booked another appointment with the same GP referred for chest x-rays. More than 2 weeks no contact from the clinic. Followed up from my end and they said doctor is on leave .almost 3 weeks later no on from clinic contacted me . I went to the clinic and argued with finally they sent me a message saying everything is normal. I have been to many clinics and done many tests but once the doctor receives the result they contact the patient to discuss the results but they did not care. My question is if there was some serious consequence to the negligence who would be responsible ? They are not here to care about people and their health, they only care about money and push you to book more and more appointments to even pass the results like your results is okay which most of the clinics for free

Our 7 week old baby was sick and they managed to squeeze us in at very short notice (within an hour) The medical care was excellent with great advice and a follow up appointment was arranged for today As we needed to monitor our son after we left the consulting rooms , we were asked to call back after a few hours to give an update. The doctor was busy and called back within 15 minutes. The doctor was really caring and she was attentive to both how I was doing and our little man. We had the follow up appointment today with a different doctor and the experience was just as good. There is a little play room for the young ones, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the staff set me up in a private room so I could breast feed after the appointment. The rooms also bulk bill which is handy to know Q: Would I recommend the Blackburn Clinic? A: Yes, as they caring and compassionate

Please stay away from this clinic. I made an appointment for once off. I was told in another call that they aren’t taking new patients. As I kept asking she acknowledged that there is an issue. She then proceeded to lie to me. She refused to help me. She was rude and very disrespectful. She didn’t care and I told her how I felt. Beware. They don’t treat u well and will never bother them again. They don’t bulk bill even for pensioners. Dreadfully and dishonest people. Ask yourself willl u trust a medical clinic that lies to u and are just bullies in a school yard. Horrible people. They discriminate against mental illness. They won’t see anyone that is having depression or other issues. They have refused me becaUse of this. If u are suicidal they won’t see or help u so I strongly suggest u seek other medical clinics that care because these horrible people don’t care about u

I recently attended for the Covid vaccination, wow .... what a professional setup !!! congratulations to the Covid staff who, as being quite young were so professional and attentive. Great job team. I have been attending the Clinic for many years, both as a resident of Blackburn and during my work overseas. The Clinic staff are professional and the Practitioners are excellent. It does get busy and patients need to understand that sometimes other patients in front of you need that extra time to have their matter dealt with. I would much rather wait a little more and know that I would also be getting that type of service then to have a rushed appointment. Being patient can also take the pressure of the Practitioners, as they are dealing with some very complex issues as a GP. We put our trust in them, so trust that they too are giving you their best.

I've been looking for a GP for four years since I moved to Melbourne, having really loved my GP back home, and have tried at least 10 clinics. This was, for once, a really positive experience. Dr Melanie had come recommended and she was lovely. She did not jump to conclusions, she treated me like she expected me to come back instead of just a 5 minute rush appoint, and she was not weight prejudiced, which has been surprisingly hard to find here. She treated me like a person and a fellow health professional. Pathology was also great, and the reception staff were lovely and easy to deal with. Thank you! The only thing I'd highlight is that for an early appointment for a first time attender it was a little confusing - if you get a text saying to go to the childcare entrance, it is the entrance to the right of the main entrance, with the door open.

Myself and my family have had positive & negative experiences, but I believe it's just the Dr you get. Some Drs you will have a good relationship, some you don't click with. And we just don't see those Drs again. Most Drs I have dealt with are genuinely concerned for my health and want to get me on the right treatment to help me improve. There have been a couple of times where my wife and I felt rushed out the door after being concerned with our child's health. And that didn't make us feel great and we left with unanswered questions and felt uneasy. But we went to a different Dr who was a lot better at explaining and putting our mind at ease. So we stick with them as much as possible I've never had any issues with reception they have always been lovely and helpful. Thanks for all your hard work.

Absolutely heartbroken. I have been been attending this clinic for over 25 years and since covid I have never felt more alone in my life. Money is the now the driver of the practice along with division of ‘us’ patients vs ‘them’ doctors as they continue to treat us like we have the plague. For 2 years now my general health check ups are by the waist side like many others, so much was missed and reception do not even care. In response to your remarks: my point exactly… motivation is money…. Vaccinations = money. Would never go to the clinic symptomatic anyway but telehealth is not a suitable long term solution (yes we are long term now 2 years)

  • Sunnie B

Service has definitely gone down over the pandemic. It is inappropriate to enforce a no vaccine no entry policy considering no one can walk in symptomatic anyway. We have learnt that the vax doesn’t stop infection or transmission so the grounds to discriminate are no longer warranted. I am vaccinated but this doesn’t mean we shouldn’t call out bad policy. We do not live in a two tier society and unvaccinated people pose no threat to you or your staff. Telehealth is NOT the same! You are a front line worker providing an essential service just as hospitals, supermarkets, chemists ect. It is time to start acting like one

  • Paul

Blackburn Clinic has been our family clinic for generations. But we have been denied our new born sons vaccintions due to our own covid 19 vaccination status. Absolutely disgusted with the treatment we have been shown. Hi Helen, if you read several other reviews, you will see this isnt an isolated experience. "All vaccinations are a choice, and like most things in life, there are consequences to the choices we make." What an unprofessional response from a Doctors Clinic that should be more ethically responsible. Due to the clinics biase we will not be going back. I hope your prejudice change in the future Helen.

I have been coming to Blackburn Clinic for over thirty five years. I feel so supported when I walk in, the reception staff are great. I have had numerous medical issues and my life has been saved by the doctors there. Now the next generation of our family are at Blackburn Clinic, and I feel safe knowing they have such great doctors and para professionals looking out for them. What I can really say is aren’t we fortunate to have such a caring local group of doctors looking after us all. Thanks doctors, administration, nurses, cleaners, and all who care for us and our community.

Clinic was highly recommended in our suburb fb page, not sure why after my experience. Will keep looking for a decent GP. Edit: responding to the owner - not sure where your second part came from as my consult was less than 5min and no script or treatment was discussed at all. Your response clearly highlights the pretentious attitude at the clinic, which was in full force the moment I stepped into reception. I believe the business has an attitude/service problem as opposed to 'good medicine' related issues. I wish you guys all the best but I certainly won't be back.

  • Em Green

I have seen 3 different doctors here. All have been amazing. Listened. Heard me. Were gentle and accomodating to my kids who felt worried about seeing a new doctor. The reception staff are always friendly and helpful. Each time I have been the doctors have been on time. I needed to organise something over a phone call consult - and it was done. The nurses knew what I needed and were expecting me. I have a medical background - this clinic has left me impressed and I feel so lucky it’s up the road!!

We recently moved, and changed to this clinic a few months ago, and I have been so pleased with the service we get each and every time. The 24/7 online booking system is so handy, the receptionists are always so friendly, and there is ample parking. Both GPs we have seen so far have been wonderful, we have never felt rushed and they provide excellent patient-centred mgmt. As a private practice, they are worth every penny. We are so happy that we chose this clinic as our new regular.

  • PAUL HANGAN

I have been a patient of this clinic for 25 years. I have taken all my children to this clinic. I previously would have recommended this clinic. But not anymore. Not when the receptionaist on the phone says the doctors wont see my 18 mth old grandson because my daughter isnt vaccinated. This is the segregated world it has become. Doctors refusing to treat a sick child because a healthy mother refuses to be forced into taking something she doesnt want to take.

My family has attended this Clinic for over 50 years. Blackburn Clinic Doctors and staff have always been wonderful to deal with and professional at all times. Dr Adrian Tang is our family Doctor and is the most caring and beautiful person you could meet. He is always there for us; his knowledge is incredible and not only an excellent Doctor but an exceptional human being. We are very lucky to have him as our family Doctor.

  • Sara L

As a health professional, I was very impressed with Dr Yeshar's warm manner and patience when seeing my toddler for the first time. He was very personable, comprehensive, empathetic and reassuring. He took the time to discuss my concerns, to make my toddler feel secure and I felt very happy that we booked to see him. I highly recommend Dr Yeshar- he is clearly very experienced, approachable and is an excellent GP!

  • Mi Cal

Some of the doctors are friendly however feels like a business and churn you through the door Quickly and charge a lot. Made an appointment a month ago and turned up in severe pain and because I was not vaccinated yet they asked me to leave the premises. Appalled, I thought doctors were about caring. Found a far better medical clinic with experienced doctors and cheaper in Mitcham.

  • Talia Lynch

Cannot speak highly enough of Blackburn Clinic. Our family of four has attended for nine years, we see several GPs here and they are all excellent, managing a range of complex conditions with empathy and competence. Sometimes the wait times are lengthy, but that is simply because the doctors never rush their patients. Wonderful having pathology, x-ray and pharmacy on site also.

  • Pageant Update

Fabulous clinic with lovely reception staff (in the 4 years I've been to this clinic I have never experienced any of the behaviour in these reviews) and exceptional doctors who have done a great job of helping me manage my chronic illness. Always receive an excellent level of care and they have gone above and beyond on more than one occasion. Would highly recommend.

  • Monica Foong

I always have a really lovely experience coming to Blackburn Clinic, from speaking to the receptionists at the time of booking who are always really polite and helpful. I’ve been seeing Dr Melanie Hattotuwa through the years who has always shown me kindness and always has really insightful and considered advice. Thank you so much!

  • Emily Bui

This is unacceptable service. I gave my contact number 5 times, the receptionist still got it wrong. My aunt had the second jab here on 24/09 but they haven't registered the records since 3 weeks. Then blamed on Australian Immunisation Register. Importantly, it's racist and try to talk on top off you.

  • Kylie Brooks-Verberne

Best GP Clinic I have been to and won't go anywhere else now. Every doctor there my family and I have seen has been very, thorough, professional and knoweldgable and always make us feel comfortable and cared for. The reception staff are also positive, friendly and helpful. Very highly recommended!

  • Joseph Thomas-Kerr

Dr Yeganeh Khevar at the Blackburn clinic is hands down the best GP I've ever had anything to do with. I feel genuinely cared for as a human being and not just a paying customer. She is positive, very affirming, incredibly knowledgeable and very thorough. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

  • Mao Chu

I knew Blackburn Clinic, knew Dr.Aaron Zhang is from my son’s psychologist, Dr.Aaron talked with my son patiently and then changed the medicine accurately. Just two months, my son gets much much better. He enjoys going to the clinic to meet Dr.Aaron.Very professional and helpful .

Great clinic, but I am 80yrs still waiting for a new appointment for covid vaccination. I had to cancel one made for early May and was told by phone that I'd be called re new appt. I have tried to book for it online but your website does not seem to allow it. Please advise.

  • Olivia M

Absolutely wonderful clinic with very kind, dedicated and talented doctors, nurses and reception staff. Have never received anything but fantastic care here, and I appreciate how hard they have worked to keep their patients and staff safe and cared for during the pandemic.

  • rosemary bailey

I have been a patient at Blackburn Clinic for many years. In all this time I have been treated very well by the staff and my doctor Grant Connoley. They are always up to date on anything new and over Covid they should all be given medals

  • Catherine Hill

I have been going to Blackburn Clinic for nearly 30 years. I must say I was let down in the area of first response communication this particular time, but will certainly continue to attend this fantastic clinic. Great doctors and staff.

  • P W

Just rang to cancel an appointment and must have got the grumpiest woman ever. Talk about rude and blunt, check your phone records 10:41am Friday 27th. I have been using this clinic for over 40 years, but I wont be in a hurry to use it

  • Bruce Owen

I won't be coming back to this practice. Even though I am "fully vaccinated" I really object to the discrimination against unvaccinated people. The policy was questionable while delta was dominant but cannot be justified now Omicron is

  • Jess G

I rang to make an appointment and clearly sound quite ill with the flu. The older lady on reception that I unfortunately had to speak to was extremely unhelpful and rude. She behaved as if I was inconveniencing her she was extremely

  • Andrew Farrugia

My whole family attended this clinic in the past 8+ years, all the doctors are caring and very professional. Especially all the doctors are so good at dealing with kids, we are very appreciated of the helps and advices they provided.

  • CAT NIC

Used to be a great clinic now like a fast food chain. No care. Just get you in and out and charge you $90 for a consult! $50 out of pocket. Completely unjustified given the speed at which you are seen.

  • m jeffery

Sean Das has been my GP for well over a decade. He's one of the best GP's I've met. Always knowledgeable, patient, kind, gentle and an excellent sense of humour, while still being professional.

  • Margaret Spencer

Wonderful Doctors at Blackburn Clinic. You have a choice of over 20 doctors. Each have their own specialty. Receptionists are warm, friendly and helpful to meet your needs.

  • Erin Arnett

I couldn't even get past the first two phone calls due to the poor customer service. Tried to make an appointment the first time and was told to call back again the

  • Rashim Kumar

I have been going to this clinic for 3 years now and never had a problem. I always went to Dr. SEAN DAS and must say he is very polite and friendly in his approach.

  • Belinda Dealy

Flu vax clinic was very well organised. Dr was gentle and patient with my kids.
