"The area was beautiful and it was great to have the hiking trail directly from the camp site"
"Pros: - Accessible by all sorts of cars - Toilet - Tables - Fire pits Cons: - At the side of a main road - All sorts of rubbish could be found in fire pits including bullet cases(!), left from idiots that used these fire pits before! [Unfortunately, this is a theme that I’ve seen all over Kinglake and nearby campgrounds!]"
"Looks like a good place to camp, but people really need to respect places like this"
Went up here with my mates Josho, Mike and Heather for a weekend. We had a good time and it was also a good location for some filming. The people in the area were nice, we met a fisherman who told us some cool stories about the forest. After the first night, we found some cool new stone mounds we didn't see earlier which was a nice experience. Unfortunately, mike is a bit emotion and managed to break the charger for our phone so we couldn't use google maps. But never the less, we just decided to head back towards Melbourne. It was good time, we could hear children laughing somewhere and people breaking twigs for fire wood. Unfortunately, josho went missing that night and we could hear him screaming in the trees somewhere. The others were peaking out but it was pretty annoying to me. Finding his blood soaked cloths in the morning was such an inconvenience because it ruined everyones mood for a while. Well, at least until I had my first Milo for the day. Heather and Mike smacked off to some abandoned house after that to try and find him. Didn't see them after that so I just assumed they got a ride home. After that, I just razzed home and cracked VB. Didn't hear from those guys again but that weekend was awesome. 5/5 calm camping experiences. (obviously this is the plot from the blair witch project and never really happened, please don't put me on a list)
Its a nice quiet place to have a picnic with the family. There are tables and seats, bbq places and most importantly a toilet on sight. However, there is no running water, so definitely bring a few bottles. If you're lucky you will see the wonderful birds and wallabies that call this place home. Sadly I dont have any photos of the actual place, but we did enjoy ourselves. The surroundings are very nice.
The area was beautiful and it was great to have the hiking trail directly from the camp site. The key problem we had was the constant sound of shots fired by guns around the camp throughout the day and night. We were unsure if there was any park ranger presence as well. We did however enjoy the camp site and appreciated the one grill over one of the fire pits.

Looks like a good place to camp, but people really need to respect places like this. The toilets and signs have bullet holes through them, there was rubbish left lying around everywhere as well
Restrooms
Has long drop toilets, not the best but good in a pinch. Take your own loo paper
Please dont go here the biggest waste of time google maps went perfectly but it was so dissapointing all roads were blocked of parks victoria should be ashamed of themselves advertising this as a scenic drive on there app. Wouldn't give it a star
6kms of Dirt/gravel road into it. Some very steep hills, wouldn't reccomend towing without a 4x4. Turned around and didn't stay. Site was dirty, tables & benches have been broken/ripped off frame. Alot of motorbikes frequent the area.
Very disappointing to see how campers leave their rubbish and damage the facilities. The campground is the start of the summit loop walking track which is lovely. In the whole of the state forest it is one of 2 managed walking tracks.
Nice walk through forest but no idea where the summit was, we kept walking but got a bit lost and ended up turning around after not seeing a sign for an hour lol
A very peaceful picnic spot in the woods with a BBQ place (coal powered, not gas powered) with access to trails. Parking and public toilets are also available.
Just came to do the summit loop with pooch. Nice walk. No one else on the loop. As goes with name of the mountain, not much to see from the summit
Has toilets and plenty of shade for camping with summit walking track just the other side of the track
Relaxed picnic area. Wide space. Bushland. Amenities. Good road access suitable for 2wd vehicles
The view of the city has been overgrown and unfortunately cannot see it. Besides that GREAT walk
Nice for a quick hike with toilets and a fire pit. Can’t see Blair’s hut though …
Blair’s Hut isn’t there anymore, just a basic campsite and a toilet block.
Really good spot for a stop, to camp, and to do the 3.8 km circuit walk
Rustic camp ground. Drop toilet. Fire places and picnic tables.
Good place to pull up for a test and a squirt on your route.
Bit busy for camps and a bit cool this day.
There is NO hut!!! Otherwise a nice spot
Pleasant bush camping site, no views.
Good beginners 4WD tracks up there
Great fun with nice tracks
Nice picnic & rest area
Nice little site
